They are celebrating Diwali for billions of poor Indians who can't afford it. You chote dil wala kanjoos baniya will not spend money for even your own festival. The secular Islamic army of of Pakistan is spending money out of it's own ( fourfather's) pocket to give Indians a chance to celebrate.
According to some sources, Manmohan had begged Miyan Sharif for it during their recent mating.

The TSPA realizes that the lame duck government would not want to escalate at this stage unless extremely provoked and they seem to be playing within that envelope.

Well done Prime Minister. Hopefully MMS will be in for the Nobel Prize Next Year.

Sharif's Moment of Truth : Going to US with no great expectations
ISLAMABAD : When Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reaches Washington on Sunday he would not be carrying any grand expectations for the challenging trip – first in five years by a Pakistani premier.
Mr Obama, a source said, would be interested in knowing Mr Sharif’s plans for the region – Afghanistan, India, cross-border terrorism, promoting regional trade and energy linkages.
Unlike some of the high-profile visits from Islamabad to Washington over the past few years, Mr Sharif may not be carrying an elaborate wish list with him except for hopes of getting economic assistance and increased trade.
CheersProgress in ties would depend greatly on the direction various regional issues – normalisation with India, reconciliation in Afghanistan and drawdown of coalition forces from Afghanistan – take.
Pakistan’s hopes of having a relationship with the United States independent of other happenings in the region may not be fulfilled in near future.

QUETTA - Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that he had no evidence of Indian involvement in Balochistan. However, he added that the federal government and federal agencies have such evidence.
He said that the law and order situation had improved in Quetta, therefore 50 per cent of checkposts set by Frontier Corps (FC) had been removed. The chief minister expressed these views while talking to media persons after provincial ministers, tribal elders and people hailing from various walks of life called on him on Eid day at the CM Secretariat. Responding to a question regarding talks with the Baloch resistance groups, the chief minister said that so far he had made no contact with them. However, he desired to bring the Baloch resistance groups to the negotiating table. “We want to solve the issues through dialogue because the 21st century is the century of democracy; all issues can be resolved democratically and force is not a solution,” he added. However, he said that it was incorrect to assume that dialogue could not be held with those who did not abide by the constitution. “Soon an All Parties’ Conference would be called on Balochistan’s issue and after thorough consultation with all political parties, tribal leaders and members of civil society, a strategy would be evolved and later talks will be initiated with the Baloch resistance groups and the people having religious thoughts,” the chief minister added. When his attention was drawn towards Indian involvement in Balochistan, he said he had no evidence of Indian involvement in Balochistan’s deteriorating law and order. However, the federal government and its agencies said they had such evidence.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/o ... y-pakistanThe success of diplomacy is not measured in terms of the air miles showing on the odometer of official peregrinations. Nor is it determined by hours spent gabbing during salubrious breakfasts, lunches or dinners. Such ceremonial visits are like climbing trees that have no fruits to pluck. Manmohan Singh is perhaps the most travelled Indian PM since Rajiv Gandhi. According to estimates, he has flown over a million miles covering 50 countries since he was handed the keys to 7 Race Course Road. In the last nine years, he has spent every 10th day in some foreign city. Since wooing superpowers is his only global mission, over half the visits have been to the US, China, Japan, UK and Russia, with US leading the charts with 11 visits. As Manmohan prepares for his 36th sojourn abroad—possibly the last of his second tenure as PM—diplomacy-watchers have started assessing the real impact of his 80 visits over nine years. On the face of it, relations with neighbours have worsened. Both China and US are showing no concern for our security and economic woes. Even India’s most trusted ally, Russia, is suspicious of our growing proximity to the American establishment. Europe, which used to look up to our economist PM for guidance, is ignoring us.
From being the most successful and sought-after PM, Manmohan is no longer one of the movers and shakers of international affairs. Perhaps our only achievement appears to be a change in adjective to define today’s India —from a developing economy, the country is now an emerging economy struggling to acquire a wannabe superpower status. Manmohan’s India is confined to the margins of the playfield of high-powered diplomacy, which defines and determines fortunes of the world.
Even after a decade of extensive lobbying, Manmohan’s dream of India acquiring a permanent seat in the Security Council remains a mirage, despite doling out many economic concessions to those who count in New York. None of the beneficiaries of India’s economic liberalisation and munificence in terms on unrestricted access to Indian markets have gone beyond the written speeches they deliver at formal dinners, expressing sympathy for India’s claim for a permanent place at the UN high table. In spite of making over a dozen visits to the US, the PM has failed to force the American president to move an inch away from his empathy with Pakistan. Daily incursions and killing of jawans along the LoC does not bother any of the superpowers who continue to flirt with the democratically-elected but ISI controlled Pak premier, Nawaz Sharif. Ever since he assumed power, the number of border violations has risen enormously. He shows no regret. When Manmohan visits China and Russia this week, he will have to remind his hosts about the unfulfilled promises on border issues and civil nuclear cooperation. Russia is determined to rake up religious issues like the construction of a Russian orthodox church in Lutyen’s Delhi in exchange for letting a Krishna Temple function in Moscow. According to foreign policy experts, it is mandatory for every head of government to keep visiting friendly countries for the sake of visibility and impact. Since India has gargantuan stakes in the global economy, the PM and colleagues like the finance minister, commerce minister and external affairs minister keep making customary visits to numerous foreign capitals to revive dialogues and engage the hosts in building new relationships. But to succeed, objectives of economic and strategic diplomacy should be well defined. Going by our failed initiatives in the neighbourhood, it is clear that India hasn’t been able to hone the contours of its engagement with countries like Sri Lanka or even bantamweight Maldives, which was once considered India’s most trusted ally in the Indian Ocean. Last week, even a high-level visit to the island by the articulate Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh failed to yield results. She could not bring Maldivian warring factions around so that elections could take place again. In Bangladesh, PM Sheikh Hasina is jittery because South Block couldn’t consolidate her position at home by addressing her issues with India. India may have become a trillion-dollar economy, but is still not in a position to influence political kinetics of a tiny island. So much for the vast carbon footprint of our frequent-flier PM.

US sought Pakistan's help in 1998 to avert al-Qaida attack : Document
WASHINGTON : The US sought Pakistan's help in 1998 to prevent Osama bin Laden from launching an al-Qaida attack against it, with then President Bill Clinton asking Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to personally use his influence to prevail over the Taliban in averting the imminent strike.
Clinton called up Sharif from his Oval office and asked for his personal help after an intelligence input about an imminent al-Qaida attack, according to the declassified memorandum of the telephonic conversation made available by the Clinton presidential library in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Sharif told Clinton that the Taliban are "very stubborn" and "very uncooperative", according to the document.
Clinton sought Sharif's help in prevailing over the Taliban to prevent Osama bin Laden from an imminent al-Qaida attack against American targets and bring him to justice.
"I need your personal help," Clinton told Sharif on December 18, 1998, after he received intelligence information about the possible al-Qaida attack.
During the telephonic conversation, which lasted for about six minutes, Clinton asked Sharif to use his relationship with the Taliban leaders, who then were the rulers of Afghanistan, to bring bin Laden to justice.
"I understand your anxiety and your position, Mr President. You know, I told you in Washington that the Taliban are very stubborn and very uncooperative people," Sharif told Clinton, according to the document.
Referring to his previous conversation with Clinton and also with the Saudi Prince Turki in this regard about bringing bin Laden to justice, Sharif had said the Taliban are very stubborn on this issue and that they are unlikely to listen to him.
"I told you what transpired between us and Taliban and so Saudi Prince Turki, who came especially from Saudi Arabia on that particular issue, and they were very stubborn. We will do everything we can, I assure you," Sharif had said, according to the declassified document running into three pages.
"I will send my people tomorrow to Afghanistan to meet with them and discuss this with them, and tell them this will not be in their interest and it will serve no purpose, that it will invite retaliation and a world reaction. I will do whatever I can, I can assure you of that, but you must understand they are very stubborn and uncooperative," Sharif is quoted as saying to Clinton.
Nearly 15 years after that call, when Barack Obama sits down with Sharif at the White House on October 23, the US President, it looks like, would also seek his help this time to bring the Taliban on the negotiations table for the reconciliation process so as to bring lasting peace in Afghanistan.
This time again, it might take a while, if not years, for journalists to figure out what Sharif's response was.
Clinton, in his call to Sharif, had said, "I understand, but there's a difference between being uncooperative and not giving him up, and being uncooperative and allowing him to conduct operations. Those are fundamentally different things. I hope you can bring that home to them."
"I have (tried) and I will (try). They (Taliban) don't listen to us all the time. I'm very disappointed with their attitude," Sharif, the then Prime Minister of Pakistan told the then US President.
"We have reliable intelligence, and quite a lot of it, that Osama bin Laden intends to strike a US target very soon, perhaps in 48 hours, and that the operations — there may be two of them — are being orchestrated by bin Laden from within Afghanistan," Clinton had told Sharif.
"Now, all I can tell you is this is not in reaction to Iraq; he's been working on this. I think it is imperative the Taliban do everything it can to bring him to justice. I think Pakistan has a lot at stake in the Taliban being accepted in the international community, and if this (attack) happens it will become virtually impossible," Clinton said.
"We have warned the Taliban repeatedly that we will hold them responsible, and we will warn them again. I want to ask you to do whatever you can to stop this immediately. I cannot overstate the importance or urgency of it. He has this cooking in the next several days here," Clinton had said.
"We are talking to the Saudis again about it. Anyway, I wanted to tell you I am very, very worried about it and the consequences if it occurs," he said.
Cheers

Pakistan film depicting 'Indian agents' does roaring business

ISLAMABAD: As a police compound here comes under terror attack, an 'Indian female agent' cum social worker in Pakistan is dancing with a mercenary celebrating their success. This is a scene from 'Waar', a film doing roaring business here.
Said to be the most expensive Pakistani film ever to be made, the film is rumoured to be partly funded by the military
the film bizarrely suggests that even the dreaded Pakistani Taliban is controlled by India.

Pakistan 'cannot get any worse' : President Mamnoon Hussain
Cheers
President Mamnoon Hussain said on Sunday he is hopeful that Pakistan will improve as the country “is in such a bad state that it cannot get any worse”.
The president said that it will take between 3-3.5 years for electricity rates to go down, and projects to ensure lower rates were already underway.
Al President is acting Coy! He is still not cognisant of the “Depths” his excuse for a country is capable of plunging into.He also expressed hope that the problem will resolve itself after the elections in India are over adding that a strict warning had already been issued to the neighbouring country warning of a “tit-for-tat” situation which would force Pakistan to respond with violence.

Learn to play it smart. The Indian foreign office, instead of condemning the movie in a knee-jerk reaction, should start out by saying the same effusive politically correct drivel that the pakis troll out every time there is a blast in Bombay or Delhi or J&K. "Killing in the name of religion that promises peace is not justified...innocent lives are lost....we should live like brothers...blah..blah...blah!" End it by saying that India offers only moral and diplomatic support to the Baloch, Pashtoons, Baltis, Swatis, Saraikis, Sindhis, Ahmediyas, Shias, Hindus, and all others who are struggling to end the present day colonialism and abide by the grand vision that djinnah had for the minorities in the new land.

Australian-Pakistani family murdered over alleged land dispute

An entire Australian-Pakistani family of five, including a seven-year-old boy, have been brutally murdered in the Pakistani capital Islamabad, allegedly over a family land dispute.
The bodies of Amir Ullah Khan, his daughter Romana, 17, and sons Adam, 14, and Haider, 7, were found dumped in bushes in Bhoray Shah, on Islamabad's leafy middle-class southern outskirts, last Monday morning.
Police suspect the family was murdered because of a long-running dispute over inherited land, worth more than 100 million Rupees ($960,000), Mr Khan had with members of his extended family.

Gunmen kill four policemen in NW Pakistan
Gunmen in a car shot dead four policemen at a checkpoint in a restive northwestern Pakistani city on Sunday, officials said.
The shooting took place in Peshawar, capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where Taliban militants are active.
"At least four policemen embraced martyrdom after unknown gunmen in a car fired at them when asked to stop for checking," senior police official Mohammad Ismail told AFP.
Nobody immediately claimed responsibility, but Taliban militants, who have been waging a bloody insurgency against the state, routinely target police and security forces.
A recent wave of bombings in Peshawar has killed more than 140 people.
