What happened to the SAD candidate? Wasn't SAD supposed to get the NDA one seat in Delhi? :(

Media's game is clear - downplay BJP's success as much as feasible. Why else give airspace to the likes of JDU's pawan verma to badmouth Modi?

BJP should form the govt in Delhi- it's 35 including the 1 SAD

BJP has the mandate now, it must govern. Fordriwal cannot be allowed to become CM.......will covert his rag-tag bunch into a proper outfit......needs to be crushed here and now

is it even possible, that a point of view becomes so common on a forum, that it becomes a dogma, and anything else is anathema to its members?

is it healthy?

Looking at the results of the assembly elections, I guess both the BJP and the AAP have some credibility on the streets of New Delhi.

8 seats in CG have lead margin of <1000. Out of these 5 belong to BJP, 2 for Cong and one for BSP. Overall BJP-46, Cong-43, BSP-1

+1 Most sensible thing I've heard today. Would rather see BJP sit in opposition than run a minority/coalition govt. It will not be able to achieve anything but will be a magnet for everything that is likely to go wrong.

johneeG wrote:The big take away seems to be that the eyetalians are in serious trouble. Now, expecting revolts and desertions in kongi fort.

From AAP's point of view, they have done much better than expected. So, they may not want another election right now. They may not be against BJP running a minority govt which they can pull down after some time. BJP would be desperate to form the govt because they have not been in power for 15 years in dilli.

Another election is not preferable for BJP also because the AAP has got a lot of votes. Now, they can claim that they are a realistic choice and can get some more votes. So, it is now a fight between BJP and AAP.

So far, BJP and AAP have not attacked each other much. They will now go after each other much more. That means AAP's naxalite sympathies are going to be explored.

But, the kongis are finished...
congresss ke awaamon mein aag lag gayee hai bhai.

these guys are staring at a sub 100 score in the finals in 2014 (a fact also corroborated by a congress supporter from allahabad)

Once he becomes CM, Khujliwal will be directly compared to Modi by DDM. BJP should form the government in Delhi by all means. AAP will die its own natural death. It is not an ideological party, it is an issue based party. If BJP can ensure a clean government, I wonder what AAP will shout about.
So AAP broke anti incumbency in Delhi, while con race still got 25 seats!

That's a disaster for BJP in dilli. Worse now Fordwaaalaa will harass BJP arbitrarily.

In Chattisgadh, Ajit Jogi seems to have got lots of votes on other's murder by Maoists.

That con party has made a comeback is no good news. Wonder where are all leftists against corruption of con race party gone but they were busy breaking anti-incumbency!

What have Indians not done to not deserve better?

AAP is a sideshow in the grand scheme of things. Even if AAP metamorphoses into a new alternative to Congress, it will still be be better than congress. Like Arjun, the 'lakshya' of the next 10 years for every Indian is to completely destroy the congress system. any resurgence of Indic systme will begin only when the congress cancer is annihilated.

Ok. Dilli. All is forgiven, I won't bad mouth you as much as before (okay not never again, there is too much Dilli in Dilli), after you proved yourself that there is still some hope and decency and a sense of civility and right and wrong in a large section of Dilli folks and voted strongly for AAP, despite it being just a neophyte on the scene.

The way Kejriwal defeated Sheila Dixit by 22,000 odd votes is heartening. Yes, we need a new politics in India and need to clean it up. Whether AAP is the vehicle to do that is debatable. But what it will force the BJP and I sincerely, fervently wish the Congress as well to clean up their acts and actually move to a more responsive and civilized system of governance and not the venal, mai baap , sarkari, neta babu pandu combine we have masquerading today as a half a*ssed excuse for governance.
