Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
I think NaMo is throwing the gauntlet at fordriwal and asking him to prove that its not a fluke. It also means that Fordriwal cannot move onto loksabha and instead will have to again fight to protect his tally in assembly.
BJP did not concentrate on Fordri this time, now they will. Fordri also did not go directly against NaMo. Now, he'll have to. The more time it takes, the more the Fordri wave falters and TsuNaMo rises. So, election in another month or two is beneficial to BJP as compared to Fordri.
I would have personally preferred getting power but it seems NaMo wants to finish the Fordri now. Basically, many of the BJP supporters of Fordri will return to BJP. Similarly, kongis will also improve their tally a bit. I think AAP has already reached its max.
BTW, muslims went with AAP in a big way it seems from the results. Muslims always go with the winner.

Main problem is paid media is firmly batting for sAAP - congi combo.
This makes it difficult for bhajapa to hang responsibility for its govt falling(further law and order incidents like Rape or bomb blasts can be djinneered by usual suspects to discredit a weak bhajapa govt) around the sAAP-congI necks.
So forming a govt is certainly a highly risky gamble for bhajapa.

Karan M,
No it does not. But I am wary of NaMo trying to seek "international" legitimacy (read US and its sidekick UK). His legitimacy comes from the people of India, period, it is to them that he needs to bend down on his knees. He should also cultivate nationalistic Indian media like republicans in US have bolstered Fox news by giving them interviews, news leaks etc.
Or at least if he talks to Economist rag, he should be pointed and forthright. Recall, those low lives have consistently downplayed TSP terror against India, the lowest point was when TSP attacked metro trains in Mumbai killing scores, and the mofos blamed India for not giving Kashmir to TSP. Lets wait for the interview to come out.

Congress has successfully diverted attention from NAMO to AAP which has no chance against it in GE-14

The best way to start in this direction is by letting Kejriwal begin his tirade against Namo as soon as possible. If Kejriwal is smart he will never bite this bullet. More than 30% of his voters are also Namo fans.Nitesh wrote:Agree with victor, AAP needs to be countered aggressively, or BJP will be up for a surprise

For MP, Rajasthan, Chhattisgadh mandate:
1) Start large scale lateral movements that over a period of time have spillover effect in gangaa region in the sense of culture and natural conservation exhaustively and thoroughly. Have ironclad rules and checks. For example one movement can be to let Sikhs build Gurudwaara along border region as one movement. Don't have to wait till requirements are overtly visible on horizon etc.
2) Conservation and protection of strategic depth in all regions as goals. Pashu samvardhan and protection of forests and naturally beneficial areas, rivers as a goal.
3) Renewable energy dependence and management as way forward for lifestyle change instead of haphazard progress based on phoren imported energy.

Muslims voting for AAP is half an indication that the whole thing is a set up. The fact that college students came out in support of AAP implies NSUI activity. Keep in mind NSUI still has one seat in DUSU despite all that has been happening.
AAP speaks the same language walks the same path and thus cannot be pretending to be Congress. It is Congress in a different garb.

I think the BJP did well in Delhi given the comatose state of Delhi BJP and central BJP. Kudos to Harshvardhan. I am in agreement with the view that BJP should sit out. It is unlikely that AAP and INC will form Govt. as it will be a big boo-boo for AK. Wait for 6 mths and let Delhi elections coincide with national elections. The issue in this election was AAP. Then the election will be about Modi and the result may be more conducive.
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Comment at large ....the no gut-bandhan IMHO has one additional advantage. It sends a clear signal to the rest of the country that ...look, if you want us to rule, give us a clear majority. When general elections come around, and AAP (or whatever regional party in a local region) starts to ask for votes, it does force the voter now to think twice....whether his vote should go to another anti-congress party or BJP.disha wrote:^^ And while I was typing, it did camenews that NaMo put his foot down and said no "gut-bandhan".,
It is clear that if BJP has a tie-up with AAP, AAP can weigh them down with their opinions/directions. AAP has not done any governance. Let them start governing and they'll realize how difficult it is to actually wipe out corruption.
Regarding corruption, I would like them to start with the private bus industry in Delhi that gave licenses (and political protection) to the criminals that raped and tried to run over Nirbhaya in a moving bus in Delhi, about a year ago. Should be easy enough to clean that I suppose.

Breaper guru, it is not just no-confidence motions that are a problem. AAP can cause a lot more damage by not toppling the govt. but voting against pretty much anything that the BJP tries to push through the Assembly. With AAP+Cong voting against them, the BJP will never have enough votes to pass any bills. They will be completely hamstrung and the people will blame them for failing miserably to accomplish anything. It is best to wait for another election.Rahul M wrote:case is simple, bjp should declare that it will stake a claim to govt IFF opp (read AAP because realistically they are the only that can ensure this) publicly promises to play a constructive role and does not harass govt with no confidence votes at the drop of a hat.

AAP is CIA's Arab Spring for India.
Experimenting in a small city-state which is urban and largely literate is one thing, India is a very big country. They will eat humble pie, I am sticking my neck out right now.

BJP should have projected Dr. Harsh Vardhan pre-Diwali.
The mega Rally in Japani park was a waste with Vijay Goel V.K Malhotra (I like him) and all... but no clear CM candidate.
Gadkari must take the blame for this.

It will be interesting to see what AAP's reaction will be if BJP continues to forsake forming the Govt. After promising so much in the fire and brimstone speeches and if they refuse to form Govt, the cadre may lose enthusiasm and Kejirwal may even face some mutiny. If they accept, they have to demonstrate quickly that they are a serious party without tangling themselves into knots. This is a poisoned chalice given to them by BJP!

My bet is that RaGa will act like his mother - sacrifice and all. And a new MMS will be suitably named. And AK could easily be that new MMS of RaGa. This benefits RaGa (a scheming indolent), Congress (savior of anti corruption AAP) and AAP (those who took the poison of power for the greater good of the country).
Cooperative opposition with AAP in the Delhi is also a reasonable and doable strategy. AAP will do this and that and Congress will support it. BJP can take every issue to the people which will not matter because AAP and Congress will have the votes needed to have it their way.

his legitimacy comes from his own ability, his hard work of the past several decades to get to this point. that is the reason why the indian nation is voting for him. so that they dont have to sit and make these decisions, let alone second guess every move their leader makes - even before he makes them.
for you to rake such a minor issue at this point, is quite frankly pointless.
he will do what needs to be done and the inputs available to him on what messaging needs to be given are 10x more than what you and i have access to.
his job is to fix the indian state, and indian economy, if this means that he does not firebreathe in every interview unlike what CRamS or karanm want, then that's tough for us but completely acceptable given the big picture.

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Watching, NDTV gives the feeling that Pranoy Roy and co. are really scared of what's going to happen in the LS elections. He keeps repeatedly trying to ask every Congress member who comes on whether they have realised the full import of these elections even going so far as to say he is "really worried" that the Congress doesn't realise that these results are part of a national wave against them. He isn't even trying to keep NDTV's alignment with the congress hidden anymore. Much fun onlee to see him despair like this.

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
harshvardhan was a game changer guys. BJP in delhi was in shambles. harshvardhan and Namo actually saved the total debacle of BJP-delhi. I do not have much contacts in Delhi-BJP, but I do know few guys from Delhi-RSS. RSS has pretty strong presence in Delhi. But there is something deeply wrong with the relations between RSS, ABVP and BJP in delhi. This happened ever since SSVerma became CM of Delhi. The role of Gadkari in Delhi was precisely this. bring together the Sangh cadres and make them work for BJP. Niran ji and other dilli based swayamsevaks will attest to what I am saying.
They dared not to take the risks of replacing the candidates with new ones. For example, the son of Malhotra is assorted Q-tiya (words of a swayamsevak that I am in touch with). He was destined to lose. They did not dare to give tickets to good people who were popular in constituencies but were not big names. They refused OR dared not to replace big names.
SSC did exactly this in MP. This is why, it looked MP might go tough on BJP and NM had to practically live there and do two-three rallies a day. But this gamble paid of, thanks to gallant effort by SSC and NM. They made tough decisions and dropped out few names which were big leaders with clout and replaced them with newer and cleaner ones. Frankly, MP was the only place where they could afford this luxury, given the state of affairs (other being GJ).
They understandably could not take this risk in CG - its a volatile area and the fight was RSS Vs EJ-Maoists, squarely. RSS was severely attenuated due to ban on Salva Judum and death of their "Sleeper cells in CG-Congress" (reference towards Mahendra karma). Dilip Singh Judeo died ( a hugh CG leader with tremendous work in reconversion of tribals back to Sanatana Dharma).
Cong(I), OTOH, was rallied behind Jogi who is an open EJ-plant. The biggest winner in this is Dr. Raman Singh who literally had to fight village by village, as someone rightly said, on this thread previously.
I cannot express in words the magnitude of relief that I felt when CG came back to Saffron. It was like Frodo coming back to side of light after being stabbed in heart by Morgul Blade. The Red-corridor from Pashupatinath to Tirupati has CG acting as a saffron thorn which won't let asuras split our mother into two halves. This needs to have a backing from center and RSS and re-institution of something like Salva Judum. Raman Singh held this fort, despite all odds and I salute him for his services. The Islamization of Bihar and EJization of AP now has Dharmikization of CG in between. The reconversion there should now continue with greater gusto. RS should finish off the financial backbone of EJs in CG as much as possible (with or without center's help) thus finishing off Jogi. Never forget that Jogi escaped the massacre just like Joey Zasa escaped massacre in Godfather-3, because he cancelled his scheduled trip in nick of moment and decided to fly to venue instead of drive there.
As I said earlier, Delhi is nothing but a glorified Municipality. The Outer-Delhi went squarely to BJP which means BJP will do great in haryana, UP, RJ. the central dilli-billi region (banks of Yamuna, both sides) went from Cong to AAP.
