Presidential rule and chaos can happen if there is no clear mandate (like in Delhi) after the elections. It won't happen instead of elections.
I do not rule "instead" out. Congress can pull some trick and delay the elections. That is my prime fear. If there are no elections, how can Modi win?

The other extreme is "instant" elections. I mean elections ASAP, that gives Modi no time to "dot the Is, cross the Ts" and "get all the ducks in a row". The last month before elections are very important.

By the way folks, please watch the discussion anchored by Rahul Kanwal - between Jairam Ramesh and Amit Shah. It is darn good, and not to be missed. Amit was calm and relaxed, but never let Jairam get the upper hand; and neither did he act obnoxious. He never meandered and beat about the bush. Answered crisply and in easy to understand terms - direct. That reminds me of Raghini Nayak, spokesperson of Congress who is one hell of feisty and annoying lady.

By the end of this session of parliament we will know how for D4 is ready to stop mafia queen. If they work well then BJP can gain good seats in AP or else it will be mess but still some seats after election. But failure means D4 should not have any place in future NDA govt.

BSP + Mafia tie up can not be ruled out. Mafia may even offer Maya PM chair. Better for NM to watchout for that.

Narayana Rao wrote:JJ is now more intelignet than ever(and crazy as always). NDA projected tally does not include TDP which is projected to get 10 seats. But if T is not given because BJP is now opposing it and NM and CBN join there may be 25-30 seats in AP and suddenly we have NDA at 257 projected seats. CBN is meeting with lot of regional leaders and if NM reasonable towards regional leaders I am sure they will be doing business with him. Most like Patnaik and even Mamtha may prefer not to deal with mafia once again and with no chance of thurd gang will be reconsoiled to be CMs.

UP was projected as 34 seats with 28% votes. I feel this is going to increase. So we are very near and going towards 272plus.
^^+1.

As per Times Now- C Voter opinion poll, NDA will net 227 (BJP alone will be 200+ 8) ). The 227 includes only Shiv Sena & SAD (and *MAY* include that 1 LS MP party in Haryana - HJC (?)). For UP, I was anticipating 40-45 :-? for BJP, thanks to Amit bhai.

All political parties that did business with ABV's NDA can be roped in after elections. These include TDP*, AIADMK, BJD, TMC, PDP/NC etc. Those that have problems with 'communal' BJP can offer outside support so that they can maintain their pseudo secular pretense for their minority vote banks :P

Yesterday, I was watching a panel discussion on TV. Some Tripathi dude of Cong (who wears black glasses) made an interesting comment. He said that perhaps the most astute election watcher is Sheila Dikshit's son, Sandeep Dikshit. He had, one and a half months before elections, predicted to Tripathi that AAP will get more than 25 seats and BJP won't be able to form the Govt. in Delhi. Tripathi meant it as a compliment to Dikshit but my antennas went up for EVM fraud and that some Cong dudes knew in advance the tally that would be arrived at.

I think Cong would engineer the same for LS elections. Notice how the "Third Front" seats have been increasing in surveys, and now are almost as much as NDA's. This seems to be the game plan now -- Third Front Govt with Cong support, replicating the Delhi model. Modi will be the leader of opposition. I am 99% certain this will happen. Till EVMs get a paper trail, there is no way BJP can come to power (unless the Americans think Modi will serve their interest better by opening up the economy further for US businesses).

Independents & Others 01 09%

NARENDRA MODI INSPIRES DELHI VOTERS TO BLESS BJP WITH MAJORITY, TO GRAB STATE GOVT

AAP DEVOURS INC VOTES BUT UNABLE TO GET BJP VOTES, GLUED TO VOTE-MAGNETIC NARENDRA MODI

MAGNET MODI

The Aam Aadmi Party would have easily won the Majority in the Delhi Assembly Elections, If Narendra Modi was NOT announced as the Prime Minister Candidate.

FINISHLINE

The Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party and the Narendra Modi led BJP are locked in a Close Fight.

The BJP could still Gift the Government to the Aam Aadmi Party, if the Delhi BJP Bosses field Losing Candidates in several of the Winning Constituencies.

(Check Our Prediction on 15 November 2013, after Campaign of all the Candidates has begun, for the Accurate Seats Tally.)
This is an extremely good prediction. It is almost as if he knew exactly what was going to happen. It seems to me that this guy has very good inside dope but sometimes(many times?) deliberately muddies the water for his(or his preferred political party's) own interests and reasons. So, while, he maybe unreliable, he is definitely not a fool or ignorant.
Link

The reason I posted that was because I also suspected magic there.

----
Now, the Politicsparty guy is saying that NaMo will get 333 seats and wipe out the kongis. He says that Jaya amma is trying to position herself as the alternative to lotus at national level.

Image
NARENDRA JUGGERNAUT, WINNING 333 LOK SABHA MPs, THUNDERING INTO PRIME MINISTER OFFICE

PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI, ENDS COALITION ERA, TO FORM SINGLE-PARTY BJP MAJORITY-GOVT
Now, either this guy knows something or is trying to fool people into becoming over-confident. (But, if he is trying to fool people into becoming over-confident, that is really a height of non-sense. Because, how many people even watch this web-site? How many would even believe such analysis? So, the chances of people getting swayed by his analysis is remote.)

But, yep, the magic is a big concern and I hope NaMo will take steps to pre-empt it.

At this stage, there are 3 concerns:
a) Sudden un-natural deaths (hope all the leaders are given good security. Recently, a TDP leader Yerran Naidu died in car accident. Similarly, Sunandha Pushkar, wife of Shashi Tharoor, died after alleging that her husband is having affair with ISI agent.)
b) magic. (When elections throw up results that boggle everyone).
c) emergency. (This is unlikely. But, one can never be sure).

----
About body language:
Just shows that all those analysis of Bhaarathiyas being naturally meek in body language was silly. It was the fault of those particular leaders who were excessively meek before the phoreners and it showed in their body language. While, NaMo mahashay is strong and civil which is reflected in body language. He is not even trying to be warm and effusive, only civil.

Amit Shah exhibits a similar body language. You know you cannot mess with them without a serious backing. I was impressed with Jairam going directly against Amit; and Amit sat calmly interjecting at the right time. Amit Shah has good sense of wit as well, so did Jairam. It was refreshing to watch two box - jabbing and moving around. Unlike the cacophony on Arnab's studios.

The only good thing that I can find with him is that he opposed the introduction of BT brinjal into dhesh and he also called out the 'global warming and himalaya melting' bogey that was raised. Thats the only good thing about him, I think. People are making fun of pappu's interview with Ornab. But, it seems he and Biyanka were prompting the answers to pappu. Poor pappu is being blamed for those answers when he was just parroting what was being prompted.

PM Narasimha felt 'insulted' by Sonia, says K. Natwar Singh
My diary entry of 13. 5. 1995 reads: P.V. "Where are you, come over." I arrived at 7 Race Course Road at 8.40pm. Around 9pm P.V. walked in. He did not sit down.

The normally imperturbable P.V. appeared flummoxed and agitated: "I have just received her letter to me?" I said I had not seen it. The two were apparently having an epistolary war regarding the trial of Rajiv Gandhi's assassins.

What P.V. said next was so unexpected, that I was dumfounded. "I cannot take her on. I could. I don't want to. What does she expect me to do?"

"Why don't you see her?" I said. "How often do I see her? It is a question of my self respect. Her attitude is affecting my health. How many times do I have to be insulted?"
:(

I said, "I don't discuss politics with Sonia (this was 1995) and neither have I discussed you with her. I mostly see her in connection with the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund and the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust. Rajiv appointed me Secretary of the Fund and the vice chairman of the Trust. I do however get the impression that she feels that the question of the trial of her husband's assassins is not proceeding fast enough."

"Natwar, I have told her that everything is being done to expedite the trial. I have put Chidambaram in charge of this question. S.B. Chavan (then Home Minister) has met her. She is not communicative. I have sent A.N. Verma (his Principal Secretary) to Colombo. What more can I do?"

"I really cannot advise you nor do I wish to get involved in so high-powered matter," I told him.

"If she thinks my leaving will improve matters, then I am willing to go."

"Why don't you say this to her?" I suggested.

"I have. I once lost my temper. How long do I go on taking her immature approach?" I was feeling more and more uncomfortable and awkward.

P.V. continued, "I know who is carrying tales to her. It is Arjun Singh. I can deal with the likes of him. Why does she listen to him?"

I said to myself why was he unburdening himself to me. This was completely out of character - such candour.

"Rao sahib, I am sorry, I can't and will not talk to Sonia about what you have said to me."

"What do I then do?"

My response was, "You know Yunus Bhai better than I do. He is like a family member since Panditji's pre-1947 days. You send for him."

"No. I shall go to his house. Can you be there?"

I asked to be excused.

P.V. did meet Yunus Bhai. What transpired I do know. But this is not the time to reveal it.

Yes, I watched the full video. Parts of it 2 times  Yes, he was down-hill skiing consistently. I just could not stand Raghini Nayak. Jairam tried pulling in the audience and other assorted tricks. He did good when he was reading the "tippanny", and I thought Amit was slightly on the back foot only at that time. But he handled it very well. The thing about Amit is that he does not get into shouting match.

I Agree ...

Our demand should "Plan for Each 672 Districts" .. Starting with Plan for most backward districts FIRST...... Each Plan should be different.

A district (Zilā) is an administrative division of an Indian state or territory. Districts are further subdivided, in some cases into Sub-Divisions, and in others directly into tehsils or talukas. There are 672 districts in India now.[when?] There were a total of 640 districts in India in 2011.[1]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_districts_of_India

Yes I have 1% bit of Rahul Mehta in me . I write a lot of So-called-absurd ideas in blog and try to SELL the ideas :P

My Belief :
(1) Our District has unique sense of identity and talent due to economic history - Can we maximize it. Each comlements other. I am OK for some sort of even guild type development for backward regions.

(2) District commissioners and officers are more responsive to emails ( than SMS to MPs and MLAs ) . They would and can be encouraged to join BHarat-rakshak.com

(3) We can small competitive award ceremony for District comminers and officers.

(4) My approach to NaMo is - You are my valentine but expect more from you and I am ready to make efforts to make that change in you

(5) Have a Bhartiya Economy at district level. Soaps at district level. Special Incentives for locals. No MNC type business regulations apply to cooperatives . Can we have Many Amuls :p

If BJP wants to be B-team of Congress why would anti-Congress parties support it. BJP is out from South India just like 2009.

Modi may retain the core areas but BJP is shutting themselves out in other states. All surverys are paper numbers and nothing scientific. Congress instead of performing like in 2009 may go back to the 2004 level but still may be capable of forming UPA-3 and in worse case support third/fourth-party alliances.

This is the hypothetical cabinet that I could come up with.

Core ministries (non-negotiable; these will stay in-house with BJP)
Prime minister: Narendra Modi
Defence: Narendra Modi
Finance: Yashwant Sinha
Home: Sushma Swaraj
Foreign: Arun Jaitley

Other ministries (can be shared with allies as sops for coalition govt)
Railways: Sushil Kumar Modi
HRD: Brig. Khanduri (Retd)
Power: Arun Shourie
Agriculture: Ravi Shankar Prasad
Commerce: Piyush Goel
Telecom & IT: Rajiv Prasad Rudy
Law: Ram Jethmalani
Oil/Petroleum: Subramaniam Swamy (perfect antidote for the over bearing influence of RIL in Delhi)
Civil aviation: ??
I&B: Smriti Irani
Environment: Meenakshi Lekhi
Sports & Youth: Col. RVS Rathore (Retd)

Lal Krishna Advani - Mentor role; sent to Rashtrapati Bhavan, after Pranab da completes his term (hope LKA doesn't kick the bucket)
Maj. Jaswant Singh (Retd) - Vice President after current incumbent, Hamid Ansari, completes his term
Gen. VK Singh (Retd) - NSA

Amit Shah - NaMo's confidant, hatchet man, troubleshooter, gains allies and keeps them in line (in a coalition era, this is going to be a full time job)

Also, I am not familiar with good, capable leaders in Shiv Sena and/or SAD. I wish BJP/NaMo/Amit Shah can convince former allies like BJD, TDP, TMC to offer outside support, if not join govt. It will be good for NDA to have CBN of TDP & Jay Panda of BJD as Union cabinet ministers.

Just my 2 np worth! Please feel free to add more ministries and suggest improvements to the above.

Jethmalani is nearing 90. he is even older than loh purush I think.
Khanduri sir would be best appointed as roads & power minister if there is such a post. road construction has fallen into a hole. power is languishing due to lack of coal and gas. imo oil & petrol should remain with Namo himself. Amit shah can take home perhaps...that will automatically lead to self-exile of a lot of fair weather birds without even doing anything.

sushma swaraj as home minister ? :-?

Arun shourie should also be given a special charge as "minister for truth and reconciliation in the arts" to cleanse all the congi funded and staffed cultural foundations , clean up history books, control the MSM professional dissidents and so on.

jaitley sir as external affairs min would be ok..he can debate and talk people to a standstill even on a off-day.

what portfolio does Arnab get ?
