Today's speakers reaction ( or lack of it) to SA congress MPs demonstration within the well of the house is a clear indication that last one week Congress intentionally postponed the Lok sabha. Had they had the will, they could have continued the sabha as they are doing now. The question is why didn't they do? The most likely answer is to put pressure on TRS to merge the party with Congress. They want to make them anxious and bring them to the bargaining table. How far they succeeded we don't know yet. However, one difference today is the absence of no confidence motion.

Vote on account comes under different level. It is a constitutional duty and failure to pass it brings in immediate fall of govt and even possible financial emergency. That is the authority by which a govt pays salaries to everyone. Without it, India will be like the US where every two years some dept or other shuts down for few days in battles of brinkmanship. You will infact observe in India and states that no confidence motions which have even a small chance of winning are entertained only after this budget presentation and vote during the budget sessions. During 1998 Vajpayee one vote defeat, when the original request was in early february, on the request of the president the vote was delayed until the budget was done.

You will observe that even the protests were a little lower for the same reason. Everybody knows it and hence only token protests.

So INC is for Telegnana while the Kiran Kuma Reddy's and Lakdapati's will go to the electerate that INC is for United AP. Truly they have forked tongue. What is achivement in the state with 10 years of state and Central rule. otther than increase in liquor consumption and loot of Jalnagyam.

If the talented people of AP are smart tthey will realise they need to get rid ofthem, in fact with TDP rule inbetween, AP would haavee been a Bihar if left to INC.

Lagadapati will have a chance. Kammas of vijayawada are aligning behind him, but most of them are still with Tdp.

Kiran, no chance. Why do you think he is delaying establishing the party. He has no base and is a high command pet. He will find it difficult to win his own seat on his own let alone other seats. He knows it.

The alignments in seemandhra are going along these lines

TDP - kammas + BCs
Cong - Kapus + non-converted SCs + remaining muslims
Jagan - converted Reddys + converted SCs + an element of muslims
New Kiran Party - non converted Reddys

Around 90% of SCs have converted.

Look at the leaders who were invited by Kiran. The kapu elements (Botsa and co) and SC mlas have a parallel meeting.

Image from Rony sir gives the entire picture. If BJPs D4 is actively aiding mafia actions then they are doing this as stooges of mafia. At least LKA is showing that he still has some fire left in him. I still do not know reason for this indecisiveness in BJP. They know that mafia is playing this game only for seats and lined up TRS and Jagan for the same. Yet there is no counter move from BJP. Principles of small states is one thing and playing political hardball is another thing. \

Unfortunately BJP proved that they do not have cut throat political guts. We have to see.

I think the best thing BJP can do right now is to come out heavily on the side of Seemandhra, and reject the Bill.

This would mean all of the Telangana BJP would resign from BJP. They should create a new party, and get Telangana TDP to join it as well. They should put a "Hindu" somewhere in the name of the new party. Also they can attract as many as possible from TRS.

BJP should collect as many ex-Congress and other money-men they can from Seemandhra and enter into an alliance with TDP with substantial seat allocation to BJP.

An anti-Congress anti-BJP "Hindu Telangana Party" could get a few seats in Telangana and BJP-TDP can sweep Seemandhra.

BJP should highlight why bill after 10 years is debated.T

The BJP should state it will vote for the Bill if

1) What is the new capital of Seemandhra is announced

2) What is the Financial Package and reflection in estimated 2014-15 Budget, and how such a package will included in Budget will not exceed budget deficit target. If it does and make India's position precarious then Bill should be postponed till the countries Finances are in order which have been ruined in the last 10 years.

3) Guarantee that there will no incidents in Hyderabad against with supposedly seemandhra lineage.

4) All party's shoud make posittion clear, all MP's of INC should vote for the Bill else expelled for the next 20 years. Does Jagan support the bill? if he does not, neither he or any of his party will vote in a no confidence motion with the INC for the next 25 years.

If the above 4 are cleared BJP should

From all the activities going on, this bill is going to be passed one way or other. Nobody, including Congress likes it, but it is certainly going to be passed.

Both main parties are on a ship going to hit a huge iceberg.None of the captains know how to steer it away, lest the ship will be broken into pieces (for congress it will happen either way). So they are letting the ship hit the iceberg and take their chances. Is this not a classic case of 'vinaasa kaale viparitha buddhi' - except i don't know to whom this 'vinaasanam' is going to hit.

Can anyone explain of we can pass the bill after the economic mismanagement we have seen. Either Seemandhra will have to do with no extra funds.

Just analysed the Revised estimates presented by Chidambaram , actual deficit is around 517K(provided the revised estimate is accuracte and UPA does notBinge spending in the next 40 days). And this number is after dubious dividends declared by loss making PSU's which may not be paid.

There is simply no money left to fund a new staate now. Is UPA willing to incerese Income Tax rates to 60%???

Narayana Rao, LKA's indecision is due to govt power with UPA till elections are announced.
Look at the arrogance of Soniaji in speaking to Venkiah Naidu. So make BJP make some statement in some circumustances and then change the circumustances and hold them to their statement.

If Congress and BJP pass the bill, it will be the worst and one-sided split bill passed in Loksabha.

Tomorrow if Congress/UPA3 comes to power, they are no stopping to split BJP states left and right as they can override everything. They can split Karnataka (template is ready), Gujarat (to cut Modi), Maharastra (to focus on Vidharba), and UP (2/4 parts can go to INC friendly). BJP can cry foul but there will not be any stopping.

Now BJP has all the power to decide on AP. If they are fringe player why giving Telangana 17 seats on platter and losing support of non-Telangana 25 seats?

If BJP is short of MPs, unfortunately, 25 MPs (TDP+YSRC) and 17 MPs (INC+TDP) won't be available for them.

As for unconditional rejection of Cong, only 7 MLAs attended Botsa, PCC cheif, recent meeting. We can conclude Seemandhra Congress is gone. They will go to YSRC or TDP, and if KKR starts some there. Congress made choice between 17 and 25 and picked 17. Only thing is Seemandhra denies YSRC, then Congress strategy is limited to 17 seats.

BJP in Lok Sabha does not have NM in it. U He may say anything. But if BJP supports this division, it may lose entire AP for decades to come. At present even Congress ministers are begging BJP to support them. All BJP has to say is yes and it has 25 MP seats for taking. No one can beat them and TDP will be with them all the way. Jagan etc will have no place. BJP would have destroyed mafia in AP forever. At present it has nothing in TN and Kerala and it may not get much in Karnataka. Basically it will get some 10 seats in the entire south. No one in AP will support BJP for next few elections and all the BJP workers will simply keep quite in any elections. Jagan will threaten and convert lot of fellows in coastal AP and Rayalaseema and that would be end of road for Indic rule with Karnataka giving some hope till next messing up by BJP.

Narayana Rao ji,

Telangana cannot be created unless they get a majority in Parliament for it. Most probably they don't have it now if BJP doesn't agree. In next elections no coalition is going to be coming to Center which would be remotely sympathetic to Telangana other than NDA. So it is up to NDA to create Telangana or not.

That is power.

If Telangana people want Telangana then they have to play it the way NaMo wants, and not the way KCR wants. If Telangana people want Telangana then they have to support BJP otherwise nothing doing!

So unless NDA has to get the support of TRS, it is BJP that dictates Telangana policy.

If Telangana is not created, the Telangana people are not going to convert to Islam right away. On BJP's terms they may have to become a lot more Hindutvavadi.

As far as Seemandhra is concerned, as you say, BJP has an opportunity now to strike deep and make hay. If BJP does not become a main player in Seemandhra then the chances of Andhra going Christian are really high.

That is why BJP must opt for Seemandhra. Stop spread of Christianity there. Make Seemandhra into a Gujrat of the South.

In the meantime, let Hindutvavadis convince Telangana people that only way out is to also embrace a pro-Hindutva party.

RajeshA, In AP Christianity was thoguht of as the new way to power under Congress. The CM YSR was one. And he made it easy for US based EJs. The US spent lot of satellite resources(mil grade) looking for his dead body in the Nallamalla forest area.
The Congress higher ups are all Christians. The non-state actors aka Gen Secys are also the same. So it was thought why not get on the bandwagon of this gravy train.

but now it seems that the Missionaries have been able to convert large number of SCs as well. Higher ups one could reconvert back by through similar means but the masses become tools in the hands of their religio-political agents and they don't want to let go of them.

A survey in the undivided AP in 2008 put the Christians at 7% of the total population. Now most of the Christians were in the SeemaAndhra region, and Telangana, except for Hyderabad-Secunderabad (and adjoining areas) has not been Christianised. The percentage of Christians in the SeemaAndhra region, I would put it, is around 10-12% of the total population. This agrees with other reports as well. The percentage of SCs in SeemaAndhra region is around 14% and if the bulk of them have been Christianised, then we would have 10-12% Christians in SeemaAndhra.

http://www.rchiips.org/pdf/rch3/report/ap.pdf (scroll down to page 18).

But, as RajeshA said, the Christianisation has been progressing apace, and it is dangerous for the BJP to watch the development helplessly. It needs to get into SeemaAndhra fast, and build up its own dedicated cadre who can stop the Christianisation. A ground BJP cadre is the most vital step in stopping Christianisation. The BJP has a golden opportunity to set up shop in the SeemaAndhra region. It can have its pick of the Congress leaders (and even in an utterly corrupt and rotten organisation like the Congress, there are plenty of decent people, whom the BJP can poach on, and get them on its side). With the new image as the protector of SeemaAndhra interests, the BJP can become a permanent entity in SeemaAndhra. And it will be in a position to stop any further conspiracies by the Evangelists.

If anyone takes some care to observe, Christianisation is low wherever the BJP cadre is strong. Assam, Northern Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, SeemaAndhra and Tamil Nadu are the regions that urgently need a strong BJP cadre. The BJP has a once in a lifetime opportunity to establish itself in SeemaAndhra, a region that has been utterly hostile to it. If the BJP loses this opportunity, then, I fear it will forever lose its ability to win in SeemaAndhra. With 15-20% Christians (as will be the case in 10 years from now), SeemaAndhra may become another Kerala, with the BJP finding it impossible to win at all.

Finally, it is probably a personal failing of mine, but the more I hear these Nizam worshipping, SeemaAndhra hating Telangana folks, the less sympathetic I am becoming to their cause.

There is a difference between opposing bifurcation and opposing one-sided bill on bifurcation. BJP doesn't have guts or brain to handle Congress so it gave up South.

Meanwhile TOI reports

KKR planning temporary political sanyas

I don't get the temporary part. He was already in sanyas. Looks like his plans to launch a new group fizziled with pepper spray. In hindsight he was enabling the split by allowing the bill to be brought to the Assembly.

Jagan & Lagadapati will make his sanyas permanant.
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is reportedly planning to take temporary 'sanyas' from state politics with a majority of legislators showing a lukewarm response to his proposal to launch a new party.

Sources said Kiran told his close aides he might go the same way as Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh, who, instead of resigning, took temporary retirement from state politics for 10 years after the division of Madhya Pradesh
.

"Kiran Kumar has a perfect understanding with Digvijay Singh who has always praised Kiran's role in reviving the party and putting governance back on track in the post-YSR scenario. So, instead of launching a party, Kiran will take a temporary break from active politics 'agonized' by the party's move to divide the state," a minister, who spoke to the chief minister, told TOI. :rotfl:

Kiran apparently told his followers he would probably sit on another dharna in New Delhi next week. Many of his aides said President Pranab Mukherjee's refusal to take cognizance of the assembly's rejection of the Telangana Bill has dampened Kiran's spirit to lead the Samaikyandhra movement after resigning. :?:

Kiran has also been overshadowed by the theatrics of Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, who drew national attention by his use of pepper spray in Parliament. Some local television channels even ran advertisements comparing him to a popular freedom fighter.

In fact, many ministers from Seemandhra, including PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana, Dokka Manikya Varaprasad and C Ramachandraiah, want Kiran to continue as chief minister till the end of the term rather than resign and launch a new party. Except the ministers from Telangana, no minister has openly asked the CM to step down, a senior minister said. :((

To make matters worse, anti-Telangana ministers such as TG Venkatesh, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Erasu Pratap Reddy and K Parthasarathi are in doubt whether to join a new political party. These ministers are organizing a meeting of Seemandhra ministers, MLAs and MLCs with the chief minister on Sunday evening to discuss the fate of their movement.

"In the meeting to be held in CM's camp office, we will discuss as to what our commitments are and what course has to be followed to honour those commitments," Venkatesh said.

Interesting. So KKR has always followed SG commands and fooled his supporters.
