I think it is essential BJP gets Apna Dal on board, helps them in purvanchal and western Bihar. Overall state they have a tiny 1.3% vote, but in purvanchal, they have a crucial 4-5% vote.

AAP would mostly be trying to hurt BJP by putting up candidates of the same Jati, who have some standing, thus cutting sufficient votes from BJP and allowing Congress to win. AAP's advantage is that by virtue of being an activist moralist party with media support, it can attract professionals and ex-civil servants, and if they are chosen by looking at their caste as well (= BJP candidate), then these candidates, locally well known and respected, can give the BJP candidate strong competition and cut sufficient votes for Congress to win, especially in close contests.

An interesting poll battle on the cards in Gulbarga: The Hindu
While the Congress has retained Railway Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge, the BJP has chosen the former Minister Revu Naik Belamgi from the Banjara community. The AAP has chosen another former Minister B.T. Lalitha Naik, also from the Banjara community. The Janata Dal (S), which has a base in the constituency, has not announced its candidate yet.

BJP-TDP tie-up runs into rough weather: The Hindu
The mission of senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar to bring about unanimity among Telangana BJP functionaries on forging an alliance with the TDP ran into rough weather on Monday with State BJP president G. Kishan Reddy throwing a spanner in the works.

Mr. Javadekar held discussions with Mr. Reddy for the second time in two days after he was rushed by the national party to iron out differences among Telangana leaders on the move to arrive at a seat-sharing pact with the TDP for the coming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. On the possible alliance with the TDP, he told The Hindu, “We will let you know if something is happening.”

Prefer to go it alone
A majority of senior BJP leaders in Telangana favour a tie-up, while Mr. Reddy and a few others are opposing it stoutly. Backing Mr. Reddy, RSS functionaries from Telangana region too are opposed to a possible alliance with the TDP.

It is learnt that Mr. Reddy and BJP floor leader in the Assembly, Yendala Lakshminarayana, have expressed their opposition to the tie-up during their confabulations with Mr. Javadekar. Mr. Reddy is firm that the party should contest all seats on its own as it would help strengthen the party’s base in Telangana.

It is also learnt that Telangana BJP leaders wanted more than 50 Assembly and eight Lok Sabha seats in the event of a tie-up with the TDP. In a bid to mollify Mr. Reddy and others, Mr. Javadekar reportedly assured them that the party leadership would bargain for more.

Divergent views
Other senior leaders with whom Mr. Javadekar had interacted, however, wanted the party to firm up a deal with the TDP soon. Mr. Javadekar maintained that he held discussions with party leaders on candidates’ selection and election preparedness.

After TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu gave enough indications of his willingness to sail with the BJP, the party’s central leadership is keen to have a tie-up with the party in both Telangana and Seemandhra regions.

With the central parliamentary board set to meet in the next few days, the national leadership is keen to clinch the deal with the TDP.
While it does make sense to go alone in the new state and build up the party, the model of alliances should not be ignored completely, especially if one is having problems expanding.

Pre-poll alliance between TDP and BJP would help maximum in containing Jagan and TRS in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Either G. Kishen Reddy is unwilling to agree to an alliance due to reasons of Jati or due to the influence of Chinamma, Sushma Swaraj over Telangana BJP unit.

Of course BJP is free to demand more seats from TDP in both Telangana and AP.

In Seemandhra, it is disadvantageous for TDP to truck with BJP. They have so much momentum going so can't take negative strain unless they are some trust-able promises from BJP. Congress leaders are going to TDP mostly, YSRC, be independent if they have money/muscle power.

In Telangana, non-Congress (TDP+BJP) alliance will help to cut as many seats for INC alliance (INC+TRS). If BJP doesn't want they end up sore-loser as they not only lose seats that are expected but also help INC increase their seats. TDP BC declaration is helping to garner much support such that even Congress is drumming up they are for BCs *. BJP should play with TDP or forget AP.

*Cong. to give top priority for BCs!

RajeshA-ji, and MuraliRavi-ji,
Gulbarga is a non-starter for the BJP. Last time, when Yediyurappa was at the height of his power, the BJP had fielded the same Revu Naik Belamgi and he had lost against the same Mallikarjun Kharge of the Congress. Revu Naik Belamgi also lost the recent Assembly elections in Gulbarga Rural. All this adding votes of candidates in Assembly elections is just a pointer, and while the arithmetic may sound great, the chemistry is lost. Mallikarjun Kharge is a powerhouse in Gulbarga, has been undefeated since 9 or 10 Assembly elections, and is simply unbeatable by anyone the BJP cares to field in the seat. In the past, the BJP has beaten the Congress in Gulbarga when there was religious polarisation (like when the Congress fielded Qamarul Islam), or when the Congress made the mistake of fielding a Veerashaiva (like S K Kantha or B G Jawali). But when the BJP has faced Mallikarjun Kharge, it has always lost to the Cong. heavyweight.

Furthermore, B T Lalitha Naik is from Raichur district (IIRC, she is from Gangawathi or Devadurga), and is practically unknown in Gulbarga. After being kicked out of JD(S) thanks to the controversy of her son pouring alcohol on the statue of Ambedkar in Bangalore, she has been persona non grata in all major parties. The very fact that AAP wants to field her shows that they are scraping the bottom of the barrel. I would be surprised if she were to get more than 10-15K votes at best. She certainly is not going to save her deposit. And Revu Naik Belamgi is not going to win either, Lalitha Naik or no Lalitha Naik. Mallikarjun Kharge is going to win handsomely, probably with more than a lakh margin.

Rakshaks from Assam,
I am hearing reports of large scale match fixing between the AUDF and the Congress this time, that the Congress will let the AUDF win in Barpeta, Dhubri and Karimganj, and in exchange, the AUDF will get all its cadre to vote for the Cong in the rest of the state. AUDF has also fielded candidates that can cut into the votes of the BJP everywhere - Gopi Das in Gauhati, Aditya Langthasa in Nagaon, and Moni Kumar Subba in Tezpur. This has the potential to screw the BJP sorely in central Assam and Silchar (all BJP strongholds, such as they are). Can anyone shed any more light on this matter?

Some delightful antics by BJP in Ghaziabad

http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/v.k. ... 49936.html

For a nationalist party, this is frankly obscene. And on twitter today, there were many objecting to Gen. V K Singh's candidature from Ghaziabad because he is a Thakur! Has we as a nation forgotten that there exists something beyond caste, something called merit? Frankly, Ghaziabad should be delighted to have Gen. V K Singh as its MP. But these two bit charlatans in BJP are playing parochial, caste cards against him. If the BJP has any decency, it will figure out who was responsible for this outrage and finish the instigator off politically.

BSY is not going to sabotage Ananth Kumar. For a very simple reason. BSY has had his way in ticket distribution. If something goes wrong, it is BSY who is going to take the blame. Further, screwing Ananth Kumar is surest way of shooting himself in the foot - Ananth Kumar is just as capable of sabotaging BSY's nominees (AK is not so completely powerless as the other D4. Think of AK as more on par with RNS - capable of some work, has some influence in RSS). BSY has hopes of regaining his top post in party. That is only possible if he does not antagonise people like AK at this point of time. Everything BSY will be in the future is riding on the results of this election. If he fails now, he is toast. So, there will be no sabotage.

Dr Swamy like many tamizh brahmanas HAD suspicion about BJP as a North Indian Hindi speakers party.
Absolutely. That is why Swamy came up dressed in RSS clothes during the emergency. .

From what I heard, that for all his efforts during the emergency, he did not get posting in the Janata Government and took his ire on Vajpayee. His distrust of Vajpayee was the reason he pulled his Govt down and did not have a problem with BJP in the post Vajypayee era.

Svenkat boss, to me he is a snake/black mailer, who took big potti (gifts) from MuKa in Yelagiri to go silent on Kanimozhi. He is an useful person now for the tirade against the India loot party and have to give it to him for bringing a lot of things to light.

You miss the point. I agree that he can be useful to Indian interest
a) as his views on the public domain are what we want here in BRF
b) he says things boldy against the establishment that many others in BJP are afraid to say or keep mum for whatever reasons

but as SwamyG maintained, your painting of him being a Tamil brahmana not trusting a Hindi bjp does not cut as he has been associated with RSS since long and he speaks better hindi than a son of the soil types. Jairam Ramesh, MSA etc. are different are the PAKI RAPE equivalents - who will find it convenient to tap into brahmin votes with the Brahmin credentials but don't mind eating beef, bait hindus and take the Nandan Nilekani route.

I am really curious what happens in Maharashtra, Seema Andhra and Telengana. Is TDP in Telengana under CBN control? They would have splitted from him due to his united Andhra stand. In that case, BJP tying up with TDP in Telengana is no brainer. In MH, I hope the Mahayuti and understanding with MNS lasts until GE. I hate to see Thackeray brothers commit political suicide and yield ground to Pawar.

Atri ji, why do you have so much respect for Pawar? Just curious. The guy is corrupt to the core.

But they will. What's unclear is the size & scope of MNS once Vidarbha is formed & its reconstituting effect on Western MH. All Pawarful wishes to do is to outlast the Nehru dynasty & have the last laugh, become MH CM once again perhaps. He's a drastic version of MuKa in some ways, but the similarities are just that.

RT could have chosen early on to take on Pawarful (the real big fish) & grow, however he was never the big-picture guy.

you got to respect your enemies. the way he has ensured that fissures are maintained and arise in all other MH parties is a mark of a highly gifted politician of kootaneeti variety (a la Shakuni). I have immense respect for Shakuni as well.

the real enemy of dharma is the AIF cartel at the help of INC operating under leadership of Nehru-Gandhis. They are connected to the breaking india forces since inception of congress in 1885. A poster named vilayat has written about it.

it is layers, santosh ji - like onion. the core of this onion is congress system (the proxies as vilayat would say) which in independent india became nehruvian system. outer layers are the satraps which are more or less affiliated to the core. the mythical "D4" of BJP are also the distant planets captured vaguely by the gravity of this black-hole.

while the core is exerting powerful force on outer layers to make them implement their core policies in exchange of certain liberties like a mughal emperor would give autonomy to his governors.

the idea is to save onion. What is onion, without the layers, hain ji? Onion is layers. there is no point in removing layer after layer to "clean the system". there will be nothing left. Even gandhis and 3G is the innermost layer that is tangible to politically aware mango-man. What lies beneath that layer is still enigma, although people like rajiv malhotra have begun providing insights. If you think nehru-gandhis were so powerful and influential and intellectual to create this empire and sonia and other 2G are so smart to effectively run it, I beg to disagree.

the PIF (pro india forces) have been trying to salvage the layers. The D4 are those martyrs who were corrupted in the process of trying to salvage as many layers as possible. I do not hate them, I respect them for waht they've done - it is like a lesser mortal drinking halaahala and is behaving erratically due to its influence.

OR if you are a geek like me and follow DC comics mythology, its like those breakaway sinestro corps guys who forged the "yellow ring" and tried to tame the emotion of fear going against the advice of elders governing the green rings of the green-lantern corps. But when the "blackest night" came, all the corps of all the colors had to come together to restore order and save the universe.

At every instance, a line will have to sacrifice itself and fall and win the ground inch by inch. The NaMo which we support today, after 10 years of being in power will be compromised to become ABV+ (a step farther than the line held by ABV) and will create a new D4. Someone new will be required to displace this lot (namo included) and sacrifice it, to put a step ahead. this is a pitched battle for the soul of India, that is going on. Pawar like forces are only the layers of onions trying to remain independent OR like seemingly evil sinestro-corps of DC comics. Come the darkest night, all will be required. Onion is to be salvaged a layer at time. and one does not salvage a layer, by hating it.

hope that answers.. :)

D4 remind me of the Nazgul, who succumbed to the power of Sauron and become his servants.
The Nazgûl (from Black Speech nazg, "ring", and gûl, "wraith, spirit" (presumably related to gul, "sorcery"); also called Ringwraiths, Ring-wraiths, Black Riders, Dark Riders, the Nine Riders, or simply the Nine are fictional characters in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium. They were nine Men who succumbed to Sauron's power and attained near-immortality as wraiths, servants bound to the power of the One Ring. They are first mentioned in The Lord of the Rings, originally published in 1954–1955. The book calls the Nazgûl Sauron's "most terrible servants".

lalji tandon plus sp sahi(the one from deoria ) plus kalraj mishra were the medal winners in the loss to sapa two years ago, remember NaMo plus V Gandhi plus Youma bharti were supposed to be main campaigners and in case of a win RNS CM, this had Sangh approval too but it never took place thanks
to the three herrows as an icing they engineered the dp yadav entry and it turned into a fiasco, sahi did not get a tikit his turf given to tandon(ironically beffiting) mishra has been doing dandwat since then so he has been spared

It is going to be a close fight. There are some active saboteurs within BJP against AKumar. AK seems to have pissed of a lot of his party folk. In fact, the ex-MLA of Chickpet (who owns a hospital) wanted to stand as an independent to cut down AK's votes but some folks have convinced him to not do so. I believe AK had made some derogatory comment about Vokkaliga community in one of the meetings saying that "Gowdas can be taken care of if some meat and alcohol is thrown at them".

So, BJP running into trouble in:
(a) Seat/Ticket Distribution in Haryana, TN, UP and MH
(b) Warring Cousins of the Shiv Sena and MNS in MH
(c) Dead Hands of S Swaraj in all she can manipulate
(d) Congress working alliances to inflict maximum damage to BJP (they know they can't win, want to restrict to 170)
(e) MSM, despite the so called trouble with AAPtards, still calling it an equal=equal battle with BJP
(f) No clear strategy in AP, Assam and Karnataka.

Looks like it may unravel close to the finishing line. Modi and Amit Shah have to be brilliant to out-maneuver their foes within and without.
