Wasn't Patil who first was a little too sad when Modi went to UP and did not mention anything about Jats? He whined about how that was a mistake ityadi ityadi, and the takleef and disillusionment of Jats and how Modi missed the boat, bus and ship. Now he is reporting Jats are going to vote in droves ? What to believe and what not to believe. All the surveys, drama baazi, betrayal, nauntanki nice to watch on TV as a reality show. It is all maya, everybody has a part in this samsara, and they (we) are all playing a part.

I am just going to wait for May 16th and not worry of the ups/downs. Time to stop believing in what we read/hear. It is a smokes and mirror games. I will pray a little bit and offer my isthath devaitha some kaanikai.

I am just looking at IBTL survey (and huge assumption that there survey technique, sample size etc have not changed since there last two surveys done few months ago) - Their is huge consolidation going in favor of BJP (from no of seats, second assumption - it is due to increase in vote%). Though some places, seats have dented the chances (Haryana e.g.), but overall, BJP moving in the right direction. Awaiting Bihar survey as this is what will show the sustainability of Tsunamo (more than UP)

muraliravi wrote:Again, Varanasi election of 2009 should be a homework every BJP karyakarta and BJP voter should read. Mukhtar Ansari was well on his way to winning around 1 PM on polling day. Then panic struck and the cadre and voters got into action to help MMJ win. This time from 8 AM to 6 PM, every booth needs to be flooded with BJP voters and cadre. This is exactly why Namo will rally in every seat. He is a micromanager to the core.
I sure hope that is really the case. DVS + AAP + Ansari can easily play the cross voting game. Must remain careful esp. considering the fact that NaMo and other leaders would be travelling far and wide and will not have time enough for Varanasi.

Hope BJP is not counting on all these worthless creatures as different and in competition with each other. That AAP will end up cutting more Congress votes (on the wider front) is obvious but that does not mean these people will not begin to cooperate on a smaller front against what they all perceive as the common enemy.

The seat is a safe seat but only till the next Kabilai raid.

I hope my fears are unfounded but somethings are just too important, to not be double/triple checked.

Could be, but looking at that huge turnout, I think they would've begged some people to come and see PaaCee and his ignominious heir.

Apna Dal allies with NDA: The Hindu
The Bharatiya Janata Party found another alliance partner on Monday, with the Uttar Pradesh-based Apna Dal announcing its support for the NDA.

As per the alliance that was firmed up on Monday, the Apna Dal, which claims a strong political support from the Kurmi backward caste in Uttar Pradesh will contest two seats in Mirzapur and Pratapgarh; it will extend support to the BJP for the remaining constituencies.

Apna Dal national president Krishan Patel and general secretary and MLA Anupriya Patel announced their support for the NDA. Talks of an alliance between the two parties were doing the rounds for some time now, but a section of workers within the BJP were opposed to partnering with the Apna Dal.

Apna Dal, was floated by Sone Lal Patel, Anupriya's father in 1995. A former associate of BSP founder Kanshi Ram, Mr. Patel fell out with Mayawati and formed his own party.

In the 2012 assembly elections, Apna Dal contested 76 assembly seats and got 4.54 per cent of votes while they won just one seat where Anupriya got elected from Rohaniya in Varanasi district.
Dr. Praveen Patil ‏@5Forty3 5h
Apna Dal's Anu Priya Patel is a sitting MLA of Rohaniya which is part of Varanasi LS seat. Modi's victory margin increased by another 10%

It is becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of NDA allies. They have become so many! :D

Apna Dal is a very valuable addition. In purvanchal overall, they have about 4-5% vote (primarily kurmis) and have some cadre (not much but still). This will help BJP a lot in their plans of sweeping purvanchal. Good job.

So Modi comes all the way down to KA, but then skips KL, AP (united) and TN. It would be nice to tour at least 2 of these 3 states. Is he giving up on TN or AP? Or is he counting on alliances to do the magic in these states? Interesting times.

Here is a snapshot of Apna Dal's 2009 performance (they have been relatively stable in their pockets and in fact 2009 was one of their weaker performances).

Image

BJP has given pratapgarh and mirzapur seat to them. But they will help BJP immensely in the 4 seats I have shaded saffron, they will help in Varanasi also, but you see Varanasi koi kuch bhi karle, ek hi banda jeetega vahan se, woh tho ishwar ne already tai karliya.

And yes, they always contested in like 40-50 seats, I have only put the 10 seats where they got more than 1% vote, rest all is useless.

Sir,

considering his hectic schedule, makes sense for him to campaign in seats where BJP has a chance/marginal seats, in the other 3 southern states, they may have some outside chance, but his rally wont tilt the scales.

I want that too. I want the results to be apparent in the first few hours of counting, so that I can get different drinks, appetizers, computers & TV; so that I will perch comfortably and watch massive takleef that will be floating around. I want to relish the MSM & co. suffering for once.

Murali and Rajesh: With the "tuckAnology" we have, he could do a chai-pe charcha from AP and TN and not lose much. These swing states ityadi does not matter. His speeches can be carried live and displayed in cinema halls and village squares. As we all know, this is a referendum on Modi :-) BJP gets votes because of Modi - from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, from Cuttack to Attock :-) Logistically it makes sense to get a quick detour.

Anyway just wondering out aloud, it is not like Modi's team would have not thought about these issues.

Ramana ji, just to get an idea, from Vidisha, if I were to stand on BJP ticket I (a no body) will win. Why? Since 1967, BJP/Jansangh has always won it, except in 1980 (Janta experiment failing) and 1984 (Indira murder). Out of last 16 election, 14 LS has been won by BJP!! It has gotten more than 50% votes, as high as 75%!!

He just hates them both, so take his statements on them with a bucket of salt, just like he loves jagan and his clan. He believes jagan will get 175/175 in Andhra and YSRC may even win 40% seats in Telangana. The guy sometimes dishes out junk of highest order.

Jaitley may have a tough fight on his hands in Amritsar, Sushma will win Vidisha as much we all hate her.

Well because BJP has also offered Rajgarh (diggy's stronghold) on a platter to congress by putting a no name candidate on BJP ticket in a congress bastion even without offering a token fight. Diggy has long associations with BJP/RSS in MP. They have some setting.

Agree. His anal-e-cist are way off or totally opposite outcomes. PP was way off in 2004 and flat out wrong in 2009. I quit his site when he started analyzing about the EU and US by posting nanga pics of Carla Bruni (Sarkozy's wife).

Even Sonia if joins BJP will win from Vidisha. Arun Jaitely winning or not can be guessed from the fact that Amrinder Singh is abusing him from day one.

Question to all those who might know - how will Jaswant's tantrum and departure affect the BJP's electoral prospects ?

The media is having a field day of course but nobody seemed to pay any mind to Uma Bharti who said that it was Jaswant Singh who got her expelled for indiscipline.

Ratlam where kantilal bhuria will fight against bjp's dileep singh bhuria is also a tough seat. Rajgarh apparently was always tough, diggy's bastion. But some surveys giving 27. I guess in this modi wave, many stronghold's have lost their meaning.

http://www.indiavotes.com/pc/search?name=Jhabua

Jhabua was Ratlam before delimitation, in 2009 also cong won ratlam. This seat has never been won by BJP.
