Jammu constituency has 4 large districts out of which 2 are muslim majority (rajauri and poonch). if BJP can consolidate Hindu vote here, the BJP candidate will win by a handsome margin. Udhampur seat also looks winnable but needs hard work.
Isn't Doda district, geographically the largest, also in this list?

Also, lotus messed up candidate selection in udhampur I hear.... Any tie-up or expressions of spport from local political players like the (pink) panthers party etc? Just curious...

74 lakhs new voters for GE 2014
More than 74 lakh new voters have been added to the over 81 crore people eligible to vote in the elections to the Lok Sabha this year.

This follows the initiative of the Election Commission (EC), asking people to check for their names on the voters’ list on March 9 at their respective polling booths.

In case their names are missing, they could register immediately.

With over 15 lakh new voters being added to the electorate, UP saw the maximum increase, followed by AP at 11 lakh new voters. Tamil Nadu saw over 9.95 lakh new voters being added, while the tally in Bihar increased by 7 lakh and Gujarat by 3.39 lakh, EC officials said.

Karnataka saw its electorate increase by 3 lakh and Kerala by 1.6 lakh, while Puducherry saw 6,782 new voters’ names being added.

EC officials say the numbers may rise further as some States including West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh will hold camps again. The electoral process around the country is supervised by 4,000 officers of the Indian Administrative and Police services while about 1 million poll officials conduct the actual election process at around 10 lakh polling booths around the country.
NaMo appeal also has paid off with many bjp karyakartha exhorting locals to register themselves.
Hope this helps NaMo immensely. seeing the rise in electorate/states gives me hope that it is not just mainorities who are registering themselves.

congis and their allies did not want this to happen for obvious reasons.

smartly NaMo refused the bait. only some others are doing it in different states but it is not NaMo/BJP.
Anyway polarisation also helps NaMO/BJP as Hindus forget caste identity in these situations. Hope development mantra makes them stick together. Only economic revival will help in the long run to push for societal changes boldly.
In UP muslims have cong b teams to lean on.
IOW division of sickular votes is still on. congis will be loser in that vote catchment arena.

The best way to beat M-votebank is by making it useless.

What happens if any/every candidate this vote bank strategically supports is defeated in 2-3 continuous elections?

Btw, ground report - From few people (so limited pov) - The BJP magic has taken some hit, there is caste based mobolization along expected lines in UP and Bihar. Initially some castes (or youth from that caste) that have voted Modi are going back to their own traditional caste based party (only a small % is sticking). TIFWIW

aha! it feels sooo nice to be tapping keyboard than heckling outside in the dust and heat(how on Earth did i survived all these dust and heat!?!)
first two mysteries solved
mystery number one:
last election there indeed was BJP wave(ain't a typo) but the lackluster voting percentage is considered to be one reason for the beatings,
this BJP team is fully aware and already work is in progress to prevent it happening again, the target is at least 80% voting every constituency.

mystery number two:
this had me scratching me mush for a while, the reason you see AApturds on every outdoor NEWS clipping is this
they have a dedicated team who jot down the lodging address of AAp neutral or unfriendly press people, as soon as the NEWS team step out
to interview people they follow them and mingle up and vomit what AApturdies are supposed to vomit earlier they would have their topi on but around a week ago few were roughed up(verbally of course) since then they have stopped wearing the topi.

Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Chandauli, Machlisahar, Balia, Azamgarh(yeah! Azamgarh too) Deoria are in Green zone(90% plus chance of winning)
as of data from few hours ago.

in Varanasi there are 3 University

Sanskrit University:
100% Brahmins mostly from Goarkhpur and Deoria 100% support for NaMo right to the janitors.

Kashi Vidyapeeth:
this has been a shocker of sorts, this was a pure Congressi place, but now i hear onree Saffronised chants

Benaras Hindu University:
the place is trembling in NaMo frenzy these are most violent and ferocious NaMo supporters, you have been warned.

the onree AAp turds or supporters are failed scholars of Poetry and Prose and mainority people, but these have been Congresi
which means it is Congress loss onree.

Ramakant Yadav the BJP contestant from Azamgarh has been going door to door on his Bajaj scoter, reports tell me he has been cheered even in Yadav strongholds mohala Azam garh town proper has 50/50 distribution betwwen sekulars and Hindus but this town is onree 5x3 kms size
the surrounding villages there are onree 4 villages with skulars in numbers, the rest are Yadavs, Brahmans and Thakurs, Yadav is ahead in every mohalla and village except those of the sekulars. the why can be explained like this
this region gets income apart from agriculture from gelf(muslims) and Polis service Yadavs and Thakurs judiciarry, lawyers etc. the Brahmins
Mulla Yam have bungled up 73,000 UP Polis employments, the case is subjudice out those around 19,000 are from this region, there you are,
you have quite a lot of angry folks.

EC to probe as YSRCP strikes one ‘false note’ too many with voters
Seemandhra and Telangana regions recorded more than 70 per cent voting in municipal elections held on Sunday. However, that’s not what made news. The elections were in the spotlight after voters of several areas in Krishna and Anantapur districts took to the streets against the Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes allegedly distributed to them by political leaders, for being fake or belonging to the pre-2005 series that is set to be phased out by the RBI.

Northeast parties stitch alliance with NDA
Saturday, 29 March 2014 - 6:08pm IST | Agency: IANS

Eleven major regional parties under the banner of North East Regional Parties Forum (NERPF) Saturday stitched an alliance with the BJP-led NDA for peace and development in the region.

"We (NERPF) have pledged our alliance with the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) to ensure peace and development in the northeastern states. Everybody has witnessed the good work of the previous NDA government in terms of developing our backward region," Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said.

"We are hopeful the NDA will return to the seat of power and it would continue to restore all developmental projects initiated by (former prime minister) Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Congress party has failed to impress the people in our region in terms of all-round development. Instead, they (Congress) have betrayed people's aspirations," Rio told IANS at his private residence in Dimapur, the main commercial town of Nagaland.

Rio, the chief architect of bringing together major regional parties under the banner of NERPF, also lashed out at the outgoing Congress-led UPA government, saying it wanted to "isolate and starve" people in non-Congress ruled states by diverting developmental projects to other Congress-ruled states. The eleven major regional parties forming the forum are: the Naga People's Front, Asom Gana Parishad, Mizo National Front, Manipur People's Party, Manipur State Congress Party, Manipur Democratic People's Front, People's Party of Arunachal, Indigenous People's Front of Tripura, and Meghalaya's United Democratic Party, National People's Party, and the Hill State People's Democratic Party. "Their (Congress) tendency is to suppress the people in non-Congress ruled states and their contribution in Nagaland was only imposition of President's Rule and betraying the aspirations of the Naga people," Rio said.

"Prime Minister Manmohan Singh failed to visit Nagaland even when our party (Naga People's Front) extended support to his government. The Congress-led UPA betrayed our people by not implementing the Rs.1,500 crore special package announced by Vajpayee during his visit to Nagaland in 2003." "The centre cannot continue to ignore us, and if we are considered to be a part of the Indian Union, they have to give us the due share and give us a patient hearing. Nobody can ignore us," he said.

Moreover, Rio stressed the need for the regional parties in the northeast to come together and fight unitedly in parliament for the common cause of development of the region. "Northeastern states, as individual governments and entities, are too small and insignificant to impact the balance of power. Therefore, I have initiated to bring all regional parties under NERPF to create power bloc to represent the whole of the northeast," he said.

Allaying political fears about the BJP, Rio, who scripted history in Nagaland by becoming the chief minister three consecutive times, instead termed the Congress as a communal party shielding "certain communities". "I don't know why certain people are against the BJP. They (BJP) have ruled the country before and they have not taken drastic steps against minorities when they were in power," he said. "In Goa, which is known as a Christian state, the BJP is in power and they have not passed any laws which are against minorities. Therefore, allegation against BJP of being Hindutva and communal by the Congress is to blackmail the minorities and play the vote-bank politics," he added.

I think this leaves Andhra as the only state where the NDA alliance picture is not clear yet.

its a very messy political scene there, and the electorate has shown a tendency to be wildly emotional and return landslides for the wrong sets of people.

its also become a den of EJ activity. and they dont like the NDA at all.

Doda is with Udhampur constituency.
BJP could have chosen better candidates but can't change that now. Panthers Party chief Bhim Singh is fighting from Udhampur. He will be lucky to get even 10% votes.

Sorry. no photos. Got feedback from locals. Rallies of this size in J and K are a very new thing. If all the people who attended the rally get their families to vote, BJP will win.

Jamwalji, this is probably India's first 'casteless' election in the sense the candidate is above all equations. People would take some time to digest the idea of voting for India rather than voting for the local candidate.

I really hope not, because Nilekani is the biggest American snake. Through Aadhaar, tons of illegal Bangladeshis have been regularized. He probably has turned over all the biometric and personal data of Indians over to the Americans.

For treason, this guy ought to be hanged rather than be voted into Lok Sabha, practically taking over the Congress.

Good thing that BJP responded to the opposition to the Ali induction into party. All kind of snakes are trying to join BJP just by making a positive statement on NM. It is very much doubtful if these fellows benefit BJP in GE. In fact they want to gain by joining BJP. Why allow anyone join when they do not benefit you?

Telugu people lost all the pride and now lead by bania type politicos. Entire society is encouraged to be corrupt by YSR rule and that sickness still continues. NO MANLY POLITICAL LEADER IS THERE IN AP NOW. ALL JUMP JILANIS.

CBN short sighted local political manipulations left him with no national support for 10 years and surprisingly he never realized that he needs them very badly. He still not understood that nation needs every anti mafia force to join NM. His self interest and manipulative short sighted politics have already costed dearly to Telugu people and hope he does right thing at least now.

If you read Madhu Kishwar's book, Salim Khan (Salman Khan's Father) has written an introductory note. Book is titled “Modi, Muslims and Media”. He has endorsed Modi.
The book trashes (correctly, in my opinion): Teesta Setalvad, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Shabnam Hashmi, Prashant Bhushan and Harsh Mander among others.
