If u follow the words being spoken by the politicians from anit-modi front these days, we will hear more and more their lines starting with "if modi comes to power....so and so bad thing will happen." What a contrast from 6 months ago. Then the lines used to be "modi is not even accepted in bjp... forget india...." I wonder how much he has move the public mood in his favor single handedly in just 6 months. Hats off to his execution quality. He will execute huge work when he comes to power.....

expect more so from the actual payer organization/person.. those are the people who pays for these articles so that when modi sarkar happens, they will all disappear - thunda kaanam thuniya kaanam (tamil - can someone explain this meaning?-- very funny but I can't translate).

modi is going to quell those looters and corruption mongers. the end game is nearing!

The two retired officers in PMO are doing a great service to the nation by exposing the hard facts about Sonia and gang. One comment caught my attention - "the arrangement was similar to communist system, party above nation". I have been drawing parallel to CPC and CONGI for some time now. Proved by the insiders now. So all these 10 years India was basically a communist state under the guise of democracy. But CPC sacrificed its people for the nation and CONGI sacrificed the nation for its family!

I request to all senior garus on BRF to help share some light on the Gas pricing controversy where Rangarajan committee reports says it should be 8 dollars but Modi is supporting 16 $s for the same in order to support reliance gas ?

Also what about all this crap that Ford foundation is supporting Gujarat govt ?

It is not Modi GOvt. It is GSPC, public sector state corporation of Gujarat. They have been given couple of oil wells which did not have gas way underneath. The extraction costs were exorbitant. So they asked for steeper price for gas from those wells. Modi did not ask. GPCC chairman asked.

Even ONGC asked for higher prices in some wells.

The latest round in the political slugfest on gas pricing began with Kejriwal tweeting, "I released letter frm Modi govt written to central govt that gas price shud b increased to 14.2 dollars" and a copy of the alleged letter being circulated.

The letter turned out to be written by Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation and not the state government. It sought approval from the Centre for a pricing formula that AAP said worked out to $14.2 a unit that is even higher than $8.4 approved by the Manmohan Singh government.

The GSPC letter was written in April 2013 and BJP sources said AAP had deliberately presented the case of an individual block as that of gas pricing in general.

BJP contested Kejirwal's implied suggestion that Gujarat government had proposed a gas price that applied to all producers, pointing out that the letter dealt with a specific block and that Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi has written no such letter.

Party sources said the GSPC letter related to Deen Dayal (west) block in KG basin where factors like high temperature and high pressure made extraction a costly process.

The GSPC had, before writing to the Centre, held an auction to determine the likely price of gas and received 34 bids for a price of $8.5 a unit and above. It was only after this that the state company wrote to the Centre.

The state government headed by Modi did not come into the picture in gas pricing negotiations between the Centre and the state company. To correlate GSPC's request with pricing for gas extracted by RIL was misleading, sources said.

Rajni can get the votes that will BJP presence in TN more stable.. and a small performance like providing basic needs - water and hygiene facilities is enough to carry BJP in TN as a force to reckon along with D parties.

Oppty at hand.. all depends on how BJP views it.

BJP screwed up KA.. I hope they don't do the same in TN and KL.

Ford Foundation gave 125K to some GEER (Gujarat Educational and Research Foundation) in 2001 or 2002.

CM is a honorary chairman. Even if the funding was done, imagine when the process started probably 2 to 3 years back. Modi was not even CM in there before 2001.

remember rajnikanth was helped by amma when he was sick - sent to Singapore [as if he can't be treated at madras]. I don't think it was a sickness that is worth a Singapore visit.. all show off! [severe asthma and viral infection is what reported/show me links otherwise].. so, it is impossible for him to counter amma direct, along with his stand of not entering politics.

timing was important for modi to meet rajini before amma preempts with salvos of cauvery issue and other things. good job.. and the next meet will have to be in stealth mode.. amma will have to be measured based on bjp strength that is forming. if it fails mustering, then amma's numbers [should she revert - which is highly likely], to garner support for NDA. Now, it carries risk as she can flip the other side like an idli or a vada can.

A question was raised by my brother. With the economy of India in doldrums due to stupid schemes like NREGA, Food Security Bill, free gas cylinders etc. how will Modi's govt. come up with the necessary finances to start new infrastructure projects? Any answers from BRFites?

OMG == Oh My God!

It was a good movie. Such things (will - fate) have been the primary point of discussion in quite some hindu puranic stories and personally I would recommend it. I left it half watched but is there in my to do list. True there is some tadaka to appeal to the non-hindu populations that they can identify with, but not at the scale of subverting the message.

I don't understand what you have against it RM ji. In fact the movie hits at the very foundation of modern law as it is practiced and as it enslaves us with no regard for justice.

This sucks. I got an email from my dad that they looked at all the websites and cannot find their polling booth. They had voted in the Assembly and Corporation elections. WTF.

After all the work I did to flip them to the side of the good guys. I hope the Mysore candidate won't lose by 2 votes.

It is like this. Reliance Industries (RIL) won an offshore block to ecplore for oil and gas. The block was thrown open for international competitive bidding under what was known as New Exploration Licencing Policy (NELP). A key feature of the policy was that while the explorer must necessarily sell within the country he was guaranteed international prices for the output. The clause on 'international price' did not exist under the earlier policy hence the use of the term 'new' in the NELP. By all accounts it was a clean bid. In any case there wasn't much by way of international interest in Indian offshore blocks. So Reliance practically got it as the sole bidder. So as per conditions of bidding RIL was entitled to international prices.
But then back in 2005 when gas was struck and RIL went about developing the field (KG D6) the internwtional prices were in the two dollar range per MMBTU. In 2007 when Ambani brothers struck a deal on the sharing of family assets one of the conditions was that Mukesh would supply gas to Anil's Dadri gas based power project out of KG D6. The price was fixed at 1.8 mmbtu. Incidentally this was also the price at which RIL quoted for supply of gas to NTPC Gandhar based power plant. But international gas prices started going up in the 2006 period in line with all asset prices. So Mukesh now didnt want to supply gas to Dadri power project at the price agreed in the family settlement. So he got the Government to bail him out by saying that gas allocation would be made available by the govt and at prices decided by it. Thus the Govt camel was let into the private sector oil industry tent. A price of 4.2 dollars for mmbtu was fixed by the govt and RIL was happy with it as it broadly reflected the international price. Butcame the Lehman collapse and the global financial crisis in 2008. The US Govt and other countries unleashed a massive cash injection programme by tne respective govts of g20 nations. A good deal of it eventually found its way into speculative commodity markets which saw all commodity prices go up including natural gas prices. By now RIL was in a bind. It couldnt now demand international prices having conceded to the govt the right to fix prices. The govt obliged by fixing a price of roughly 8 dollars per mmbtu by a complicated formula that is caalled the Rangarajan committee formula.
