I don't think I would say this for any other bjp candidate (including the proverbial D4) but for once, I want that paki lover shotgun to lose.

First priority is to gain power
Second to consolidate power
Only then the culling of uncles and aunties past their selling date will start

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Made second trip to get my mom to vote ( BLR south). Quite a look..all the ROPers out in numbers asking to vote for Nandan..BJP booths were healthy with numbers on their own. On the way back saw quite a number of genteel bengaloorians coming out WITH families holding voter ID cards ( after the afternoon nap
). Hopefully numbers should go up.

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Is there any news on what areas of Bangalore constituencies are contributing to the low turnout? This because as far as I am aware, around 80% of the registered voters in my area (Basavanagudi) will eventually cast their votes. 30% at 1pm is a pretty dismal number considering that many people here already voted early in the morning. If the weather was an excuse, its turned all cool and cloudy so hope the voting picks up in the other areas.

To calm nerves, I think we can at least take solace that based on local elections from Nov-Dec/2013, Rajasthan will deliver a good harvest!

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
I just got an email from my dad that he and my mother were able to vote. Count 2 votes for the good guys!
Someone from the city corporation came home and told them where their booth was since the booth from the last election was in a school that was demolished. The voter ID was truncated, so they could not find it on the internet.
He said that the polling booth was crowded and percentage of voting was much higher than earlier.
Mysore looks to be going to the BJP!

In 2009 Bangalore recorded around 45%. Now it is 37% by 3PM. If it crosses 60% it will be 15% more than 2009, which is pretty good!

per TV, in upto 3 PM voting, the % for karnataka, chattisgarh and west bengal is looking 10% down over 2009.
in karnataka that cannot be good, because the committed Mainority vote banks always vote enmasse, rain or shine...its the soft rice n dosa eating pot bellied "others" who vote or not vote depending on many things. the mainorities are definitely the sharp end of the stick / military discipline in these matters india wide.

true that. and I knew it at 11AM itself as posted above. absolute apathy among the weaker economic sections. the only enthu crowd were the namo crowd among middle and upper middle class.
perhaps in state elections with all the local moneybags mobilized, the people are mode enthused by the "communal feasts" that get organized.

Majority of the Bangalorean's who don't vote are outsiders and do not vote either here or in their home town's. They only crib about the income tax getting deducted from their salary and roads/traffic being bad.
