Apparently , ECI talked about one Polling Station only where RaGa was seen inside Voting Compartment however there were two other booths including the one in this picture where RaGa was photographed inside Polling station, not inside Voting Compartment, and EVM was supposedly working. However , to make position clear , as EC has correctly told, RaGa was not at fault, to be fair to him if EVM was not working.

If EVM is working and voting is in progress then no one except the voter has right to go to Voting compartment for casting his vote.
Polling Agents of a booth for candidate represents him and observes polling process, disputes identity of voters, certifies Mock poll and proper functioning of EVM before it is used during poll. Candidate has right to visit all polling stations of his constituency , but without security cover as police is not allowed inside Polling Booth. They must remain out side the door of the Polling Booth and manage the queue if needed. Candidate can enter the booth and see the process without disturbing the polling process.

What happens when EVM is not functioning. Polling can not progress. Voters who want to cast the vote and have signed on the register and about to proceed to the voting compartment can only remain inside the Polling Booth. Others will be stopped at the door. Now a replacement EVM will be brought ( BU+CUs as the case may be) and again Mock poll is conducted and EVM is verified by Polling agents present. if candidate is present then he may also verify EVM. When Poll is not progressing due to EVM malfunction , Mock poll has to be conducted by putting Ballot Unit inside Voting Compartment and Polling agents ( candidate) are asked to press the buttons. Guidelines says that 50 times button has to be pressed of which buttons for candidates have to be pressed at least 30 times and NOTA 20 times and then tally is made for each button. Polling agents certifies the mock poll and then EVM is sealed with their signatures along with Presiding officers before Polling begins. At which time Polling agents withdraws to their designated seats.

Now if in that particular Polling station, EVM was not functioning then other processes would be ongoing regarding replacement of EVM and Polling agents or candidate could be seen in the Voting compartment.

However , if Poll was progressing then except voter no one has tight to be present inside the voting cmpt but candidate can always remain present inside the polling station without disturbing the poll process.

So not much should be made out of this except scoring brownie points and that has been achieved. However , if it could be proved that Voting was in progress then certainly a serious offense is made out.

The combination of the mullahs of Banaras openly backing AAP and the EC raiding BJP office (and not any others) should help BJP tomorrow. Polarization + victimization.

Varanasi: Why many Muslims find hope in Narendra Modi
mid all talk of communal polarization and the Muslim antipathy towards Narendra Modi, a section of the community has been working silently to ensure the latter’s victory in Varanasi. The young Muslim men and women campaigning for Modi in the walled-city part of the Hindu religious centre offer an interesting insight into the changing mindset in the community, which for long followed the diktats of religious leaders while making its political choice.

“A new perception has emerged amongst the Muslims. They now want to vote for development, unlike in the past. Narendra Modi has emerged as a new political icon on whom many Muslims feel they can depend on,” says Dr Iftikhar Ahmed Javed, an educationist, who runs a school amongst weavers in Bajardiah.
OUCH! OUCH OUCH! AAPtards have to now commit suicide
The BJP is pinning hopes on the weavers’ community of Muslims (Ansaris). Modi has promised to rejuvenate their dying handlooms. “A large number of weavers have already migrated to Surat. Considering the better condition of Muslim weavers in Gujarat, we’ve decided to vote for Modi as he may bring a change,” says Iqbal Ahmed Ansari, a fourth generation weaver from Bajardiah. But, he feels that other BJP leaders should also extend a hand towards Muslims, without harbouring misconception that Muslims won’t vote for the party.

A big chunk of support for Modi from the community has come from its women. It was evident on 8 May when Modi’s cavalcade passed through the highly sensitive Muslim-dominated Madanpura. “I’ve never seen such a tremendous response to a political rally like that of Modi’s. Women and children came out on streets, stood at roof tops to have his glimpse and showered petals and Itra (perfume) on him,” recalls Madanpura resident Afsana Begum. Though it’s difficult to say how much of it would get converted into votes for Modi, a big credit for this paradigm shift goes to two Muslim women in their twenties, who both hold a master’s degree in Conflict Management from the Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

One of them, Najma Parveen is the president of the Bhartiya Awam Party (BAP), an all-women’s political party, which claims more than 35,000 members, with 90% women and 10% reserved for men. BAP works towards creating political awareness among Muslim women and salutes Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as its ideal. “We’re not contesting the election this time but supporting Modiji for which we’re mobilising Muslims to vote for him, and also trying to wash-off rumours spread against him by other political parties,” says Parveen

Can't see them getting more than 3 seats and that is a very brave estimate.
The high end estimate of Khujli party is 6 seats. The final could be 0-6 seats with Khujli Baba himself losing by a big margin. Right after the election even if sAAP has 2-3 seats they must be encouraged "hook or crook" to leave the sAAP and join some other party and essentially closing down the Khujli party permanently

On the GJP thread, NDA numbers go from 200 to 300+ with median at 262; so anything above 262 would be over-performance and anything less would be under-performance. If NDA < 200, then we can go into mourning :((

Folks, at this point the 543 guy has projected 277 seats for NDA from phases 1-8. He forecast 130 seats for phases up to and including Apr 17. Thereafter he forecast 60 seats on Apr 24, 50 on Apr 30, and 37 for May 7. That is all assuming his "down-adjustments" of NDA vote share.

I personally am assuming that NDA has crossed 272 in Phase 8 and will reach 300-320 in Phase 9. This is independent of the 543 guy but quite consistent with his predictions.

Where is the 20% vote share of AAP coming from? Mostly Congress, Akali/BJP or BSP? With such a huge vote share usually one would expect one of the existing parties to get decimated in the final numbers game.

considering the month long agonising elections schedule, I have maintained my sanity  at high cost. :((

not able to post well and also not tweet as well.

saving grace is the punishing work for the last 1 month.
now it is going to end on 14th evening. :D
holidays for the next week--- chai biskoot-pakodas. yes I have bought all Gujarati snacks stored in freezer for the outcome.

shq and inlaws surprised by the Gujju snacks. :rotfl:

I have not told them why I took the 1 month workload- --luckily my friend became a dad explained in that way to work for his paternity leave also SHQ relatives landing at my abode on 20th. 8)
looks like stars are aligning well for me to take the workload.

side effects--- shq making lot of noises day in day out about me trying to log in to kamputer all the time to catch brf news, checking my fone etc.
says moi afflicted by Modi disease vagehra vagera.

Praying to Vigneshwara to remove all obstacles in the path of NaMo to pave for his victory.

The mobilisation by the RSS/BJP cadre has been amazing. No other party can come close to what it has done.As a friend candidly told me, The "Hindu is a lazy voter. He votes when he feels like it,sometimes considering it distasteful to vote for one crook to replace another"! However, the Muslims if they set their minds to it,and are pressurised to do so,vote as a bloc/votebank.But in this election, what the RSS/BJP cadre have done is to get the "Hindu" voter out to go and vote,no matter who he votes for. That is one vote reason why we are seeing this phenomenal increase in the voting %age. Even if only 75% of the "Hndu" voters for the BJP and Mr.Modi, the plan would've succeeded.

This is why in the last phases of the campaign, the Congress/UPA and "turd front" rump, have been communalising the election to the max. extent, with Clown Prince "Rahulji" making absurd allegations that "if Modi is elected 20,00 will die".But then he is far off the mark.More than 20,000 people in India die of natural causes! Where did he learn his maths and stats from? This communalisation is also the Kejriwal tactic in Varanasi. This shameless Ford Foundation funded quisling, has taken communal votebank policies to such a nauseating level and has poisoned relations to an extent between the two major communities.Kejriwal must be carefully tracked in the future as he has all the characteristics to be another "Jinnah" in the making, playing his cards as dictated by his western masters.

Even the most dire predictions for the NDA givt it at least 250 seats, needing just another couple of dozen power hungry allies to join the bandwagon.

This is election related albeit as an example of the loony left wing drawing room liberals:

http://liveblogs.indiatimes.com/politic ... her-brood/

Some of the stellar excerpts:

"She is told the key word is ‘development’, but she wants to know: development at what cost? Whose development? What kind of development ? Would it mean some of her children will benefit and others won’t ? If so, she is not comfortable with plans that exclude large segments of her family."

A couple of things:

1. Mother's Day is an invention of the Hallmark Card Company
2. The cost of no or even little development is much larger than her 'at what cost'?
3. You can only include those who want to be included on a set of terms that apply to all.

Shows you that facial carpentry and perfect dental implants do not lead to any new insights.

This woman along with one Bacchi Karkaria should be barred from writing.

'From Arvind Kejriwal to Priyanka, this has been a media-determined election. Two forces stand poised, the people inventing new politics and the media inventing its own version of that politics,' says Shiv Visvanathan.
