Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Armed Forces
Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
Replicas. Useful enough for training. Easy for observers/referees to see, cheap, and get the job done.

Reminds me of that red Leo toy rifle which I wanted as a kid and never got

Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
It is a pretty standard dress code for police foces across India.srin wrote: How come the CISF are wearing two colours of boots - brown (CISF personnel on the left in both pics, incl the lady) and black (CISF personnel on the right in the second pic) ?
Difference is due to the different levels of the service personnel - the black shoed (and black belt) ones are part of the constabulary while the brown shoed (and brown belt) ones are the inspectors. As an aside, all IPS officers, including the ones deputed to the CISF wear brown shoes. This pic will make it clear: The IPS cadre officers are standing by while the inspector cadre officer is being given a medal. Both have brown belts. Notice the difference in caps betwee the two cadres. http://www.cisf.gov.in/wp-content/uploa ... /03/31.jpg
In this pic, the constabulary is seen with 2 inspector cadre officers (holding the flag and the sword respectively). The inspectors wear brown while the constabulary wears black belts and shoes. http://www.cisf.gov.in/wp-content/uploa ... /03/41.jpg
Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
Marcos of vanilla VBSS?Interesting guns.
Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
My guess it would be the latter. I remember reading an article several years ago that says Marcos always train with real guns and real bullets.rkhanna wrote:Marcos of vanilla VBSS?Interesting guns.
Often times the VBSS teams are labeled as Marcos by DDM.

Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
They are not MARCOS. They are sailors deputed for VBSS.

Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
MARCOS do show faces. I had some pics of them when they accompanied the Naval Chief. Lost in hard disk crash.
Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
^^ Was trying to find the exact pic. Was hosted on Livefist blog also but not found in cache.
There are other pics of some Admiral kids having a joy ride on Wullar lake with unmasked MARCOS folks and having fun around the base at that place

Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
Yes Sandipan... you know, as far as BRF is concerned, pictures are never sufficient. There will be somebody from somewhere here who sees some screw on an aircraft photo, and launches a major discussion which ends up with some revelation of some kind. So, feel free to maximise.

Helmets are oversized. Why is it we just can't get this bloody helmet thing right. It's been a problem for nearly 2 decades.
