Why i am not surprised

Official celebrations of Telangana Liberation Day unlikely
The Telangana government is unlikely to officially celebrate the Hyderabad Liberation Day on Wednesday though Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had waxed eloquent about the significance of the day in the past and the party had also observed the event every year since its inception.

With just a day left for the event, officials in the Culture Department said they have not received any proposals from the government and there was no way they could be processed at short notice on Tuesday because it involved clearance by Finance Department.

Mr. Rao was said to have ruled out conceding the demand of official celebrations when a delegation of BJP led by MP Bandaru Dattatreya called on him at the Secretariat on Monday . He reportedly drew a parallel between the definition given to the day by the BJP, Communists and nationalists and closed the issue. While the BJP termed it liberation from the tyranny of Nizam, the Communists said it was betrayal because it marked return of feudal lords to villages from where they were driven out as part of a rebellion against them and the nationalists maintained it was merger with the Indian union.

The BJP, which was in the forefront of the demand for official celebration for several years, had always accused the parties in power that they were trying to appease minorities in not observing the day. [BJP is on the dot.As everyone knows KCR's own appreciation for Nizam combined with his wooing of MIM makes this celebration impossible] They cited official patronage given by Maharashtra and Karnataka governments which got Marathi and Kannada speaking areas respectively from the erstwhile Hyderabad State on September 17, 1948.

The CPI had been observing a weeklong celebration from September 11 when the call for an armed struggle was given in 1947 to September 17, marking the merger.

In the absence of a positive response from the Chief Minister, the BJP has planned to organise the celebrations at Golconda fort where the Independence Day fete of the government took place and other centres in Telangana. Sources in TRS also said the flag hoisting would take place as usual at the party office.

Halted work on Hyderabad Metro Rail is costing L&T two crore rupees everyday
Hyderabad: With over Rs 2 crore loss being incurred per day, concessionaire Larsen & Toubro has written to the Telangana state government seeking clarity on their earlier orders to stop Metro rail works at the Assembly.

In a letter to the TS government, L&T managing director V. Gadgil said, “We have been asked to stop the work. Hence, we wanted to know what must be done now. The letter is seeking clarity on the issue.”

The letter was sent a week back and there has been no reply so far.

Metro rail work has come to a halt at Assembly and Sultan Bazaar following a re-alignment announcement. The announcement made in the Assembly has not been officially communicated to the Hyderabad Metro Rail, which in turn is required to communicate it to L&T as per standard procedure.

As a result, there has been a major slowdown and only 40 per cent of the work could be completed in the last three months.

This has dealt a blow to L&T financially, as their manpower is not being utilised to the full capacity and their machines are lying idle all over the city, compelling them to invest in security arrangements.

A senior officer said, “We have equipment worth Rs 500 crore lying on the city roads. Since the last three months most of them have not been used. The workers are sitting idle as there is hardly any work being carried out due to the slow-down. The viaducts are ready at Uppal godown but can’t be laid as there is no clarity. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and traffic police are still not co-operating and giving the required permissions. Traffic diversions are not being done. Too many hurdles and bottlenecks have been created which is not good for the project. It is leading to an enormous loss not only for the company but will also be a burden for the people of the city.”

The legal parameters cannot be sorted out till an official response from the government is received.

A senior officer said, “At this stage, compensation can’t be demanded as absolutely nothing has been communicated officially. Even when the official communication comes in, the clauses of the contract have to be studied and accordingly, the issue has to be tackled. It is a sensitive issue and the project is at a crucial juncture. We only want to know what must be done further and how to complete the project without any further delay.”

Principal secretary of municipalities, S. K. Joshi, who also looks after the Metro Rail project, said, “We are looking into all the aspects of Metro Rail. They are under consideration.”

L&T project was being opposed by some people even then. Now those people are in power. So one can not expect L&T to have smooth ride. In fact I will not be surprised if the entire thing fails and there is a huge litigation, loss etc ending up damaging L&T itself. Long delays make even the completed project a loss making one. In Karnataka Yaddi gave a deadline for the start of service and hell bent on starting it at least in part. The same is reverse in Hyd.

Before division L&T said to have unofficially asked the Union Home Ministry about the chances of division being taking place and was unofficially assured and lied that there will not be any division. No one in Delhi will inspire confidence to L&T now. Business can not be run when the ministries lie to people of critical issues and politicos just bent on collecting hafta. I hope P&G and L&T incidents are isolated and not part of a large trend. But I am afraid it may become a regular affair in TG.

The P&G experience is a sobering tale which casts doubts on this economic strategy. But it doesn't mean there is no hope: Andhra people once upon a time had a similar attitude towards Tamilians, saying that the latter were cunning exploiters etc. this kind of hostility is due to the gap between feudal- type economic thinking and the capitalist variety. As the resentful group grows more capitalistic, the gap will decrease.
Well written summary. This is exactly right and TG on this day will like anyone except Andhras. They will spin the logic to any level. But as time elapses, things will become brighter. Until then we will see this Nizam-MIM-HateAndhra drama. The development also will go down for sure but that may be okay because it is important that local population feel trustworthy and confident.

Until then if you want drama see TG and development see AP :)
The comparison of Tamilnadu and AP is not appropriate here. Not only we are in different times of intense scrutiny, but we also have different leaders. In the erstwhile AP there were genuine capitalists as well as crony capitalists. For minimum development, at least you need to have some genuine capitalists to balance out crony capitalists who will be usurping public resources by coercing the govt with favorable regulations and quid pro quo deals. When the govt is run by whims and fancies of a dictatorial CM who can chide his senior most cabinet in public, can you imagine the raise of a genuine capitalist who by his/her independence can be perceived as a threat to KCR? No chance. From the veiled attack on media asking them to salute Telangana while they work there, it is not hard to understand the real hidden message of who has to salute whom. The sooner the capitalists in Telangana realize this, the better for their own welfare. When investors and entrepreneurs are at the mercy of an unpredictable CM, there is only one breed that can survive, and they are crony capitalists.

As it happens often, it is too late before public understands this. But ultimately with intense scrutiny, even Sakshi or Namaste Telangana type evangelism cannot stop the truth to come out.

Note the words "There is no need to use the Sanskritised Telugu anymore." and "The Telangana dialect is simple." De- sansritization of Telugu drive it seems. Pity.

People in the committee include " Ravva Srihari, ex-vice chancellor, Dravida University, Kuppam". Is he a Telangana person or evil Anddrodu?

The completion of Metro Rail in Hyderabad is in dilemma. There are many differences aroused between Telangana Government and L&T on this project. Soon after, KCR took the charge, he asked to divert initial Metro route to protect Historical Monuments in Hyderabad.

L&T is not willing to deviate from the original plan and helpless to construct underground Metro rail in the city. Now, L&T Metro Rail Managing Director VB Gadgil wrote a letter to Hyderabad Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy saying that L&T wants to withdraw from the project and suggest the government to take-over the Hyderabad Metro Project. It’s surprising that L&T MD highlighted some political issues in the letter for its dissatisfaction. Gadgil has clearly told that opportunities in Hyderabad have fall down after the division of the state.

L&T predicts that importance to Hyderabad will not same as before the division of the state. Real estate market fall down is another reason that mentioned in the letter. Gadgil believes that Metro Project can’t sustain with just selling of rail tickets. L&T believes that Hyderabad can’t receive enough investments either from Central Government or from Private Sector. Telangana Government should take proper measures and will convince L&T for not withdrawing from the project. If L&T middle-dropped from the project that will affected much on Hyderabad brand image.

The good thing about partition is it looks like there is a lot of scope for development in Seema and Vizag area in addition to Vijaywada. Looks like Hero Motors and now Wipro might also set up shops in Andhra. Somehow, the focus was always was in Hyderabad when unite AP was there. In hindsight, people in Andhra should have welcomed partition. I think time for both sides to take advantage of Development PM and expand the development to all areas instead of harping on the old days. Try to go to 21st century not Nizam dark period. I can't believe what kind of joke KCR is playing on Telangana people and Indians trying to bring back the ghost of Nizam.

With respect to Metro stuff KCR is not doing like a businessman - He should not even put ungli and get it done. L&T is seeing future losses as flight of investment is happening out of HYD. It wants to find a pretext to blame the state government and exit. It was told by UPA that the state will not be split and cheated them to start the project. Now KCR changing alignments etc is God send opportunity to get out for L&T and L&T is exploiting the opportunity provided by TG government.

There is a lot of inventory of Real Estate homes and even rental values are going down. This is fact.

See Hero Motors were pitching to put their plan in AP, TG, KA and finally they decided on AP because the goverment there worked overtime in wooing with a land allocated for it. Even KA lost to AP on this investment. It went to Siri city in Chittoor district.

^^ That is the point always Muppallaji. Capital will go where it is welcomed. Capital will fly if the environment becomes adverse. It was not easy to make Hyderabad attractive in front of Chennai and B'lore. I remember Hyderabad of 80s and early 90s.

KCR's actions so far are detrimental to the investors. His whole goal seems to be to get control of Hyderabad lands so that his family can start their own dhanda. It is like killing golden goose. But right now, he is able con enough people with emotions and hatred that he is going to get support every time he uses that card. In the end, they will find that he is a big failure like Mamta B or Akhilesh.

But in the end it may be too late. We have to understand that extreme left invested a lot in TG. They have supported TRS and joined in TRS. They wish to have a base for Naxals there. Since most of boss men of Naxals of Telugu/Telangana it is natural for them to try for a home base. Extreme poverty, misgoverned areas, ideological support by overground news papers, attacks on business painted as evil all will help naxals.

Some of the formulas which KCR employed and employing are

The capitalists = Androllu = outsiders= looters= cheaters of of native people.

Great time during Nizam= India invaded = our independence day is not August 15th = we were separate nation = Hyderabad and Kashmir were merged by force into India.

These formulas put him in power. I do not expect him to change.

Hope TG doesn't become a jungle raj like erstwhile Bihar, or naxal-infested present day Bastar.

KCR became a hero to TG people entirely due to the miscalculations of the greedy Congress. Since the truth behind TG sentiment in fact is jealousy, which no one would admit, they had to invent fake reasons and the general public gleefully bought them. While it may not be politically correct to attribute negative motives to an entire population, there is truth to it, and the entire population is blind to it.

At the same time, in my own limited interactions with TG village people, I don't sense any hostility towards Andhras. They have so far been very polite and helpful. I think the urban, educated sections of the society are more consumed by the poison.

Twelve years back, when deciding on a place to settle, I short-listed Hyderabad and Vizag and finally chose Hyderabad thinking that bifurcation wouldn't happen. Unfortunately it did, and I really don't want to live here any more; it is just the inertia and the difficulty in disposing off immovable properties at reasonable rates (actually I didn't try due to inertia ) that are keeping me here. Hope Vizag real-estate doesn't go out of my reach by the time I get ready.

You are 100% right. But this is driven by mostly losers like naxals who are mostly dumb, lazy and stupid. Their goal will always to blame some one else for the failures of their policies.

It is mostly educated people who buy this nonsense. There is some rationale to it. Most of the politically (mostly Congress) connected always got promotions or dominated in several state/central places. This causes a lot of heartburn. They attribute it to Andhra domination but in fact I noticed most of the Head Of "X" is because you have connections to MLA/ministers not because you are coastal. That is hard to distinguish for people in Telangana. But this will go away in few years.

The bigger problem will be loss of credibility for Hyderabad investment and a new den for Islamic terrorists/Naxals not due to any characteristics of Tealangana people but because of Nizam ghulam politics of KCR.

Vishakha real estate probab;y has peaked and would be stable now that the capital is coming up in VGT. Just norrth of Vizag is bhImuni paTTaNam where beach front 3 BR independent houses are ~ 50 lakhs or so. I was thinking of buying one but nobody to look after it there and I am really not willing to rent it out. There are sea facing houses west of the coastal road in Vizag. They are really not close to the main beach and a little away from the city center which IMHO is a plus point. They are going for about 1 crore a couple of years back. AT that the taxi driver was telling me that 1 crore gets you a completely furnished villa with one month victuals. Just come inwith a couple of suitcases and just laze around on the beach. But SHQ was not enthused due to the Vizag weather (which she had to endure through out her childhood and then to Mumbai which is same or worse :) ).

Metros in India are a no-go. Other place, what does one do? No big libraries, no intellectual activity. If one is interested in social work, socializing, relgious then it is fine. Otherwise no place to really settle in India for post-retirement R2I folks.

The acrimonious referendum on Scotland's independent status reminds us of andhra Pradesh division. However when rational thought prevails, the verdict would be for unity, as we have seen here. Also the fact that Scottland don't have the most developed capital and the fact nobody (like an italan mafia) is giving disproprtionate share of UK assets to them probably forced the 'no' result, realizing that they are better off with UK.

This is like the first TPS "pAra gurtu kE mana vOTu" agitation which was the beginning of the end. What we have seen in 2014 was the end. So will be the case with Scottish separation from UK. The seed has germinated and in a short time you would see a giant been stalk outside the window.

@matrimc,
Found some info on Vizag real-estate prices on the internet: about Rs 2 Cr for 3300 sft 4 BR house in Madhurawada area. As you mentioned, weather is also an important consideration (one of the reasons for choosing Hyd in the first place). I also don't want to go to other states, so will have to compromise: either put up with TRS and TRS inspired people, or put up with the humidity of Vizag. Will see how things shape up.

I feel as far as the partition is concerned, Coastal Andhra is better off with partition than without it.

Look at how companies are lining up in

First Hero Motors

Now Wipro
The Union ministry of commerce and industry has reportedly approved the IT giant Wipro Ltd’s plans for setting up a special economic zone (SEZ) in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam. This has taken the state of Andhra Pradesh many steps ahead in infrastructure development. Wipro plans to start works on the SEZ over three acres given to it near Resapuvanipalem close to its existing facility in the heart of Vishakapatnam. Sources say that Wipro has promised providing employment to close to 6,400 people at this SEZ.
This is good for overall growth and development.

OTOH, look what is going on here.
The meeting between the engineering giant Larsen &Toubro and Telangana State Chief Minister KCR recently may have given an impression that all is well. Sources say that it may be anything but calm before a storm!

Now while everyone thought the dust is settled, sources say that the official representative of Telangana in Delhi, Venugopalachari blasted L&T saying that the company is ready to go if it wants to.

He also added that there are many companies and even the government can take over completely. While the government in Hyderabad is working hard to ensure that future investments doesn’t take a hit due to this issue, it has to be seen whether he made these statements in personal capacity or officially.

There are reports in national media, which mentioned TRS sources saying L&T’s actions are nothing but corporate blackmail of first order.

It has to be seen where the issue is headed next even as many well-wishers of TS feel the dust should settle down and the state should get good investments!
I am sure what is going on behind the scenes. KCR asked for his "share" of Metro project and L&T refused. How long this kind of wretched politics of New Govt. needs its own Hafta can continue?

Telangana Police stop BJP from hoisting national flag on Golconda Fort.

http://www.ndtv.com/article/south/in-hy ... lag-593484
It seemed to be a scene from a bygone era. Activists, holding the national flag and carrying photographs of freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhai Patel, wanted to march ahead, but the police refused to let them do so.

The police were trying to prevent the activists, all BJP members, from hoisting the national flag at Hyderabad's Golconda Fort.

The BJP activists were led by the party's state unit president Kishan Reddy, Secunderabad Member of Parliament Bandaru Dattatreya, Indrasena Reddy and N Janardhan Reddy.

When denied permission to do so, they staged a sit-in blockade on the road. The slogan-shouting BJP workers were then forcibly removed and later arrested.

The party wanted to hoist the flag to mark 'Telangana Liberation Day'; it has also demanded that the state government should officially celebrate the day.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has said that his party will observe the day as always, but "no government so far has celebrated the day and we won't either''.

The day marks the merger of Hyderabad State, then under the rule of the Nizam, with the Union of India on September 17, 1948, 13 months after Independence. The Nizam did so only after a revolt by the Razakars (rebel fighters) and the intervention of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, India's first Home Minister.

BJP leader Janardhan Reddy pointed out that in 2010, when Congress was ruling the state, KCR had made a similar demand.

The party's "relationship" with the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) has made it change its stance, claims Kishan Reddy, the president of the party's Telangana unit.

"This is a let-down for the people of the state, who had hoped that with a new Telangana government, things would change," said Mr Reddy.

Police officials claimed that the BJP workers were stopped as they did not have the permission to hoist the national flag at Golconda Fort.

Hitting back at the BJP's charges, MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, "Some people are trying to accord unnecessary importance to September 17, adding a communal colour to the day".
`unnecessary importance to September 17' is very interesting, no?

AP signs 80000 crores MOU

The Andhra Pradesh government Tuesday signed 10 agreements with different public sector undertakings and a private firm for an investment of over Rs.80,000 crore. It also inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the union power ministry for round-the-clock electricity supply.

People in Andhra Pradesh will get 24x7 power from Oct 2 as the state government signed an agreement under the "Power for All" scheme.

The agreements were signed here in the presence of union Power Minister Piyush Goyal and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The investments of over Rs.80,000 crore excludes the Power for All programme, said a press statement by the state government.

The agreements were signed to mark 100 days of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government.

The state and various central public sector undertakings inked the MoUs for 6,500 Megawatt power projects.

While 4,000 MW super critical ultra mega thermal plant will come up in Visakhapatnam district, 2,500 MW solar plants will be set up in Rayalaseema.

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited signed the MoU for its long-pending 4,000 MW thermal power project at Pudimadaka in Visakhapatnam district.

The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) handed over 1,200 acres of land to NTPC for the project.

NTPC signed the MoU for 1,000 MW solar park in Kadiri in Anantapur district. The NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVNL) will build a 1,000 MW solar plant at Panyam in Kurnool district.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) signed another agreement for establishing a 500 MW solar plant in Kadapa district.

Goyal said the plants would make Andhra Pradesh hub of solar power generation in the country. He was all praise for Naidu for taking the initiative for 24x7 power supply within 100 days of forming the government.

Naidu said the government was focussing on electricity as it was a must for the speedy development. He said all steps were being taken to bridge the power deficit, which was 22 million units when he assumed office.

Leading two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp signed an MoU for setting up its plant with an investment of Rs.3,000 crore.

The state government allotted 600 acres of land for the project in Madannapalem village of Satyavedu mandal of Chittoor district.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will set up a manufacturing facility in Chittoor district with an investment of Rs.600 crore. The chief minster handed over to DRDO officials a letter alloting 1,103 acres of land in Chinnatayyur and Kokkiralakonda villages of SR Puram Mandal of Chittoor district.

Naidu also handed over provisional allotment letter to SAMEER (Society for Applied Microwave Electromagnetic Engineering & Research, Government of India) for 13 acres in Ganbheeram village of Anandapuram mandal in Visakhapatnam district.

Now the L&T fight with KCR seems to be out in open.

http://www.apherald.com/Politics/ViewArticle/67426/Revanth-releases-documents-about-KCR-s-Metro-dealings-/
After challenging that he would be revealing the secret behind TRS government and L&T conflict, TDP leader Revanth Reddy released the proof to media.

This has caught many by surprise and it could lead to many debates and controversies.

According to this, the land which was earmarked for Metro parking station to the tune of 15 acres near Hi-tech city was requested by My Homes head Rajeshwar Rao. CM Kiran was supposed to give this off but backed off when L&T warned not to do so.

Now after KCR coming to power this land was reportedly given to a Gaming company while
the 20 acres given to Gaming company was reportedly transferred to My Home company, a close associate of KCR with a stamp duty exemption of 23 crores on July 27th.

Hence, L&T has been up in arms and demanded clarity from Telangana State government including the controversy over realignment which is halting Metro works and causing loss to the Metro concessionaire L&T. All are waiting to hear the government’s response.

Hitting back at the BJP's charges, MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, "Some people are trying to accord unnecessary importance to September 17, adding a communal colour to the day".
unnecessary importance to September 17' is very interesting, no?
Many people even in my own family seem to agree with Owaisi, that remembering Hyd Police action is irrelevant and that time's events and information being discussed again is bad for harmony. Indians (especially the well to do sushikshit varga) will not wake up without a hard dose of reality. Cannot wish hard dose of reality for my own. I hope they all are right and many on BR are wrong.

Prahar garu,

Even Pandavas got into such a Tamasic blissful state after Rajasuya. Draupadi vastrapaharana & Aranyavasa were need to wake them up from that tamas.

The way things are happening, Jagirdars of Telangana will not & cannot stop themselves from creating a strategic misadventure. Let's see when/where/how.

NTR who considered himself as a Telugu leader as opposed to a 'Andhra' leader did far more to uplift lower sections of Telangana than any other leader. But considering in current day Telangana , everything is being seen in anti-Andhra terms, this will give KCR another plank to increase his anti-Andhra rhetoric. May be its best to name it after PVNR ?

Signs are clear: Modi is taking down the Nehru-Gandhi nameplate

Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi Airport is likely to be named after former Andhra Pradesh CM NT Rama Rao.

I would also prefer PVNR name because he is the one who changed the course of India and also the person who took on MQ

Congress may prefer NTR to PVNR because renaming a Gandhi item on PVNR would be a bigger insult in their minds.

Businesses leaving for AP, tax base eroding, says Telangana
HYDERABAD: Telangana government has claimed that an exodus of businesses to Andhra Pradesh is underway after the new state came into existence in June this year, and there would be a significant erosion of the tax base once Hyderabad ceases to be the common capital.

"There are already incipient signs of about 3,000 dealers, businesses and trading houses shifting their base to the residual state of Andhra Pradesh. The momentum will pick up in the years to come.

"There will be erosion of tax base not only in respect of VAT, but also stamps and registration, motor vehicles tax and state excise," the Telangana government has said in a memorandum submitted to the 14th Finance Commission.

"The present tax base will witness massive erosion once Hyderabad ceases to be the common capital of the successor states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

"The number of people visiting Hyderabad will come down drastically and there is likely to be a consequent fall in sales of petroleum products and other commodities," it added.

As per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act Hyderabad will be the common capital for ten years; thereafter it will be the capital of only Telangana.

According to the government, many dealers report sales (to tax authorities) only in Hyderabad though the products are sold all over (the erstwhile) Andhra Pradesh, creating a false picture that Hyderabad (and Telangana) has a huge revenue-generation potential.

Hyderabad accounted for nearly 80 per cent of the VAT collected in the entire erstwhile AP, creating this erroneous impression about the revenue potential, it says.

With limited revenue potential of the eight of the ten backward and drought-prone districts, and "imminent erosion" of the tax base in the remaining two districts, the fiscal scenario is bleak and a matter of serious concern, it says.

The share of Telangana in the total tax base of united AP would be around 44 per cent, it predicts, adding that the Finance Commission must take into account erosion of tax base and increase in the establishment expenditure of the new state, and allocate more funds.

It also alleges that there has been "systematic erosion" of resources of Telangana between 2001-02 and 2009-10, as large tracts of government land, particularly in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana (which is adjacent to Hyderabad city) were sold to private parties for over Rs 9,000 crore.

"In the light of these facts, the claim that the combined state developed the capital city of Hyderabad falls flat. People in Ranga Reddy district, more particularly farmers, lost their livelihood forever," it has said.
TRS is exaggerating the fall out. Don't fall for it.

Before split in AP, Hyderabad is Tier-1 and VGTM, Vizag, Tirupathi were Tier-2 cities in terms of development and education. It is natural that things follow to upcoming Tier-1 cities. New development may prefer Tier-2 cities of AP than Telangana.

What it means is that Hyderabad may cope up with erosion but other cities in Telangana can't develop by themselves without massive money pumped in by government for long. If TRS is targeting only for the status-quo for Telangana, they are fine and dandy until rest of Telangana is in stupor.

Till now the drama was all about the surplus tax collections in Telangana and how AP fellows are looting it. Now suddenly there is no tax surplus? As for as farmers losing land - farmers made tens of crores in their lands also and most of the money was paid by non local people only. In any event, the division was done at the behest of people like KCR. They can not now say that there is a bad fallout of the division now. If there is any bad fallout had they discussed in public about that before asking for division? Never.

Painting a rosy picture before division and bleak picture now is two lies which suits them at different points of time. Now they will hid all their useless things under the drama of financial difficulties drama and I am sure they will blame CBN and NM for that also. I

Looks like to dumbo KCR family of Islamic terrorist alliance, HC had to remind this is still part of India. I feel it is time to send a strong message of intimidation and threat to the scum family and their efforts to ally with Owaisi,ISI to start a new fire in the middle of India.

http://www.gulte.com/news/30904/-Telang ... High-Court
Telangana Government received a big setback in High Court Today regarding the 'Financial Assistance to Students of Telangana (FAST) scheme.

Earlier, T-Govt. issued GO 36 stating 'Fast' scheme will be applicable for only the students who parents were bonafide residents of Telangana as on Novermber 1st, 1956. The issue is regarding providing financial assistance to Students from the current academic year 2014-15. Former Ministers Dokka Manikya Varaprasad and Pithani Satyanarayana approached High Court seeking action against TRS Government.

High Court opined Telangana government FAST scheme is a threat to National integrity. "Telangana is part of India. FAST GO is threat to National integrity and its unacceptable. T-Govt will have to reconsider the GO as eventually effects the education of lakhs of students," reacted High Court, apart from posting the near hearing to 6 weeks from now.

Metro Rail Deal is getting murkier day by day. Right after L & T's letter expressing its intent to come out of the project due to pressures, TDP fire brand leader Revanth Reddy made startling allegations that TRS chief, Telangana CM KCR is conspiring to drive L&T out of the project to help his close friend Rameshwara Rao.

This triggered counter attacks from TRS as their leaders blasted Revanth Reddy for the baseless allegations. Even Aqua Group threatened to sue Revanth for his irresponsible comments. Even as many tried to digest the developments and TRS felt that Revanth would be silenced with the counter attack, Revanth stunned by hitting back.

This time he came with proofs and stunned all by releasing a CD which showed how Rameswara Rao, MD of Myhome Real Estate stalled the inauguration of the Gaming city event recently after the land belonging to HMR was transferred to Aqua space company of Rameswar Rao in August, as per records of APIIC.

He challenged IT minister KTR, son of CM KCR for a debate and asked the concerned files be tabled in the assembly.

Hyderabad faces threat of losing sheen as a preferred investment destination
Is Hyderabad facing the threat of losing its sheen as one of India's preferred investment destinations and are investors worrying over their investments in the city after it has become capital of the country's newest state of Telangana?

Days after engineering giant L&T expressed concerns over the viability of India's largest metro rail project coming up in Hyderabad involving an investment of over Rs 16,000 crore, several businessmen ET spoke to affirmed similar concerns .

While businesses are mainly concerned over the fall in floating migrant population that would affect the revenues, they are also worried about the sharp deterioration in power supply in Telangana that is forcing production holidays and sharply increasing operating costs.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)-led government, which had earlier brushed aside such concerns and termed them totally unfounded and instigated by anti-Telangana forces, admitted for the first time on record on Friday before the 14th Finance Commission that the environment was indeed unfavourable.

3,000 Businesses Shift Base

The state government, which had contested ET's report in June on 700 companies shifting their base out of Telangana, told the commission that at least 3,000 businesses had shifted their base to residual Andhra Pradesh in the past three months, fearing that "the momentum will pick up in the years to come".

For the first time, the government also said, "There will be erosion in tax base not only in respect of VAT but also stamps and registration, motor vehicles tax and state excise". Further, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that "there will be erosion of tax base in the short-tomedium term" and hat "despite the suitability of the state for location of industry , power shortage in the state is a major hurdle".

Flagging these serious concerns, Rao added, "The present tax base of the state will witness massive erosion once Hyderabad ceases to be the common capital of the successor states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The number of people visiting Hyderabad will come down drastically and there is likely to be a consequent fall in sales of petroleum products and commodities."

Corroborating the distress, the chief executive of a public sector bank said on condition of anonymity, "Of late, we have been receiving increasing number of loan restructuring requests from our borrowers, mostly from hospitality, realty, construction, entertainment and shopping malls in and around Hyderabad, citing fall in footfalls and occupancy ratios."

Force Majeure Clause

A top bureaucrat, who did not want to be named, said, "Telangana has a large number of PPP (public-private partnership) projects in roads, urban infrastructure and public transport. If the number of people visiting Hyderabad comes down drastically as being feared by the state government, then we could soon see private partners in PPP projects invoking force majeure clause seeking compensation through incentives and extension of concession periods."

He added that there were already some indications from the private partners in this regard.

B Vinod Kumar, TRS' politburo member and the party's deputy floor leader in Lok Sabha said the chief minister was only trying to give a fair picture of Hyderabad in terms of tax revenues post bifurcation even as he added that there was nothing to seriously worry about.

"If L&T pulls out of Hydera bad metro rail project, there are several players ready to take up the project. We are confident of proving our detractors wrong on capital flight from Telangana and will attract large-scale in vestments like what Mumbai did after separation of Gujarat from Maharashtra," he said.

Last week, L&T wrote to Telangana government that following bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh "the position of Hyderabad in drawing invest ments, both from the central government and private sector has altered...the change in the status of Hyderabad has resulted in significant change in the economic and political outlook of Hyderabad, thereby causing material adverse impact on the financial viability of the (Hyderabad metro rail) project". The state government moved to placate L&T after the company threatened to pull out of the Hyderabad metro rail project, the country's largest public-private-partnership project.

Apprehension Over Image

The alarm bells sounded by L&T raised apprehensions over the image of Hyderabad and Telangana as a businessfriendly destination.

E Sudhir Reddy, chairman of infrastructure group IVRCL, said, "The Telangana government should immediately dwell into the reasons behind Hyderabad-based businesses looking at shifting their base to residual AP. If it is because of special tax benefits that the Andhra Pradesh government is proposing to offer, then the Telangana government should also ensure similar benefits. It helps not only to entice new businesses but also retain the existing businesses."

Opposition parties blame the "irresponsible hate statements" of the CM targeting the settlers responsible for businesses moving out of the state.
