Day by day India is achieving greater heights of secularism.
Minor nit-picks.
1. The people who Turkey sent back when caught trying to run off to Syria has done nothing wrong. There is no proof that they joined ISIS (a proscribed terrorist organisation) and worked along with them. They all went to Turkey on a valid passport and VISA, so they have done no offence on that ground too. These jokers may have planned to join ISIS, or do "charity work" there, but that is not yet happened. Hence there is no way the police can charge them for an offence. But I am sure they would all be given a solid dressing down, and perhaps IB having an eye on them.
2. The young chap from Mumbra, his role in ISIS was proven and that made him charge-able. Which the police have done, and I guess investigations are still on, and the chap is "inside".
3. Along with Togadia, Owaisi of MIM also has been denied permission. Infact Owaisi gets a double whammy, because Maharashtra police has also banned one of his events in that state. In Bengaluru two large functions (on by Hindu organisations and one by Muslims) were to happen on the same day. The Hindu organisation's program would go on, but minus Togadia.

It would be good to stop using the terms of reference of the murderers and the psychopaths and jihadi mofos such as "fidayeen", "shahid" etc. -- best to refer to them from an outside frame of reference such as "jihadi terrorists" or "suicide/homicidal bombers". Just saying.

Simply incredible how the UPA allowed a Dawood-linked cable network to operate nationwide -- and that seems to be the least of what went on during the Sonia/MMS's regime.

reading an article on how western intelligence agencies use hackers to get their target data and I found something interesting.

Indian navy and diplomats are category A

https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2015 ... expertise/
INTOLERANT traffic is very organized. Each event is labeled to identify and categorize victims. Cyber attacks commonly apply descriptors to each victim – it helps herd victims and track which attacks succeed and which fail. Victim categories make INTOLERANT interesting:

A = Indian Diplomatic & Indian Navy
B = Central Asian diplomatic
C = Chinese Human Rights Defenders
D = Tibetan Pro-Democracy Personalities
E = Uighur Activists
F = European Special Rep to Afghanistan and Indian photo-journalism
G = Tibetan Government in Exile

There have been five incidents of vandalism in churchs around delhi within a few months.

If anyone has been following the bangalore incident, a report had come out saying that the supposedly christian pamphlets which alluded hindu gods to beastility were actually printed by some muslims to cultivate a confrontation between hindus and christians.

The medias needle of suspicion in delhi incidents is "modi and his hindu govt" in the centre. To hindus in general, this is a "daal main kuch kala hai" moment. The bangalore incident is a case where we now know for sure that the muslims have smartened up. But the delhi case might even be a coincidence.

Any comments folks? Anyone from delhi care to contribute some valid gossip.

Nothing new,saar.

IIRC 15 years back during NDA1, one of those terror orgs ( i guess SIMI) had done few church bombings in Karnataka and kept Bajrang Dal pamphlets all over the place. As usual, every one were shouting and frothing about saffron terror till one of the bombs they were carrying accidentally blew up in a vehicle of those folks near Town hall and only then did things fall into place.

Found this court order on that. All were from a "certain religion" of course:

Catholic Bishop conference in Kerala issues warning against selfies and 'Love Jihad'
Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Conference (KCBC) has issued a circular that is to be read in catholic churches in the state against the trend of selfies and 'dangerous love affairs'

The circular warns the younger generation about selfies and says that social media and mobile phones can mislead the younger generations.

“Through selfies children expose themselves to others, this should not be allowed. Parents should control them and teach them not to get involved in such practices . These practices can attract people and they will swoop down like vultures” says the circular written by Bishop Vincent Samuel.

The circular also warns catholic parents that their children are living in dangerous times, and that cases of fake love affairs which lead to religious conversions are increasing.

“Through fake love affairs they can convert your children to other religion and later lead to terrorism and other anti social activities. So beware and teach them to stick on to catholic beliefs” says the circular.

It also urges parents to hold back their children to catholic belief and to live according to the norms of Christianity.

More evidence that the NaMo govt seems to have taken it's eye off the ball. Sensitive posts like home sec should have been watched 24x7, instead of wasting all efforts on PAs and clerks and peons. Were the #$%& intelligence agencies sleeping or waiting for an engraved hand delivered invitation??

'Anil Goswami got several key slots filled’
PANKAJ VOHRA New Delhi | 7th Feb 2015

The Union government is examining the veracity of reports that several top officials were appointed to key positions by the powerful nexus of former Union minister Matang Sinh and sacked Home Secretary Anil Goswami. Sources said that the government is also ascertaining more facts on the appointment of Goswami to such a sensitive position, besides going into the details of the appointment of two other top officials — A.P. Singh and Ranjit Sinha — as directors of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) during the UPA regime's second tenure. All three have been found to be involved in unbecoming conduct.

Sources said that Matang Sinh was very powerful despite being a fringe politician and continued to wield considerable influence in the Ministry of Home Affairs in particular ever since he emerged on the political scene during the Prime Ministership of P.V. Narasimha Rao. Goswami is believed to have benefited from his association with him and perhaps also owed his elevation to the Home Secretary to him.

The government has also received intelligence reports that shortly before Matang Sinh was arrested, he had ordered some of his belongings to be shifted to the official residence of the Home Secretary. While there has been no raid at Goswami's house so far, the Narendra Modi government is waiting for more details on the matter.

According to sources, a number of top officials of the government would make a beeline for Sinh's residence near Gole Market, whenever he was in town to seek favours from him. He has been accused of manipulating the system and bringing back several officials close to former Home Minister P. Chidambaram back into the MHA and the government in key positions. Sources said that at least three director generals of para-military organisations, a senior functionary of the Central Vigilance Commission and at least two members of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in addition to a Governor were beneficiaries of the Sinh-Goswami nexus. Two high profile advisers to the ministry are said to be their appointees, as also an important functionary in the Civil Aviation Ministry.

However, one top bureaucrat, who has known Goswami for many years, vouched for his integrity and said that he was an extremely competent officer with high integrity who has become a victim of circumstances. He has served with distinction at various places, though his disgraceful exit was not consistent with the contributions he has made.

Sources said that the present Home Minister Rajnath Singh is understood to have had merely a working relationship with Goswami, as he was considered close to another Cabinet minister and was thus consulted by the Prime Minister during the initial period of the NDA government. Rajnath Singh, it seems, was aware that all was not well within his ministry and was also informed by another colleague how the nexus had managed to get things done in the government.

Sources said that Goswami had courted controversy in the past as well. He is said to have ruffled some feathers, when he reportedly approached a Supreme Court judge in connection with a position for a close relative. There were also reports that he was grooming his son for a film career and played a role in scuttling the government move to award a Padma Shri to a well known filmmaker as he did not help his son. There was also an accusation that he had made a tailor belonging to a CRPF battalion to sit in his Moti Bagh house from morning till evening to do tailoring jobs for his family. However, sources close to him denied that he was involved in any kind of wrongdoing and attributed the reports to jealous colleagues and rivals.

The government is ascertaining the identity of officers who regularly visited Matang Sinh's residence to seek favours or to get their service records straightened up. In this connection, some files pertaining to clearances given by the Vigilance Commission to dubious officials are likely to be re-examined. A top official said that there is a "can of worms once an independent inquiry gets initiated".

Greenpeace activist would do anti-national activities: Govt tells HC

I too am queasy about the guvrmand using this airport immigrashun authority to conduct national security policy. It would be much better, hain, to let this person go and beg the colonialist slavers to come invade India and rape her kinfolk again, and provide competition to A. WhineRoy and Pankaj Mishra?

And then use that as evidence that GreenPeace is an anti-India outfit and ban it?
This bijnej of trying to stop political activists from opening their musharrafs and revealing the fact that they are sold-out, is fraught with danger. If it violates the Constitution (and I don't see how it cannot), the courts are going to slam the guvrmand, and that is going to get much more publicity.

If the govt has due cause, they should file criminal charges, not take decades to come up with the wonderfully-named "FIR: First Information Report". This business of "we have IB reports" sounds like American 'law'. Apparently they don't think they can tell even Hizzoner what these "reports" are.

Modi should send these ophishials to the Andamans to join the DD worthy who tried tarring his family. Trouble is, how can one wish this on the poor natives there?

Maybe send them to Siachen to stamp passports of Pakis trying to get through the YellowSea?

This is blind imitation of American "No-Fly List" Catch-22 bureaucracy. I KNEW it! Indian Babus would see that atrocity and see it as the greatest advancement since the invention of red tape.

Togadia's recorded speech telecast at meet

I was expecting this "number" (recorded speech) from Togadia as he had tried the same in Kerala a few years back :). K.P had worked over time in checking vehicles, trains and airports for days together. And during the program, out pop's up Togadia on a huge display and gave his speech via video conferencing :). It seems City Police Intelligence had warned the police about this trick, but they did not take notice.

Mean while folks who want Owaisi for a programe is also now working on changing the dates. And it needs be seen if Owaisi would be allowed inside the city (in person). VHP folks may create ruckus if Owaisi is now given entry permission.

Not sure if this is the right thread but here is what the members of this forum already know.

There is a well regulated and coordinated effort to derail the Modi government by foreign NGOs, Church and Indian political parties.
It will be a hot summer for Modi.

Multiple groups plan hot summer for Modi
Groups working for ensuring a climate of unrest during the following months are relying on rumours of a reduction in the retirement age of staff from 60 to 58 years. This is being harnessed to motivate unions to seek a fresh 1974-style railway strike, with railway union leaders being courted for the purpose. Other sectors where a general stoppage of work is being planned for the summer are coal and banking, and here too union leaders are being contacted to get them on board for large-scale industrial action by the middle of the year.

Prior to that and independently of foreign players, Anna Hazare is scheduled to reach Delhi on 21 March for an indefinite fast on the black money issue. Also, both the National Alliance of People's Movements and the Ekta Parishad have scheduled major protest meetings and movements within the next ten weeks, all of which are planned to converge on the National Capital Region. The revision in the land acquisition laws, which are deemed to be essential for ensuring investment in India on the scale needed to create millions of jobs each year, is the target of the Bharatiya Kisan Union led by Mahendra Singh Tikait, who is planning to launch a mass agitation against the land acquisition changes in selected districts of Uttar Pradesh in the first instance, expanding this to BJP-ruled states such as Rajasthan and Haryana later.

Internationally, well-funded NGOs with strong branches and contacts within the country are planning a large-scale campaign that alleges major violations in human rights as well as suppression of religious freedom in India, which is expected to begin in April and peak by September 2015. The European Union has already designated India as a country of concern where religious freedom is concerned, and the US is expected to follow in April this year with a similar indictment. Interestingly, unknown perpetrators have been selectively targeting Christian houses of worship in some locations, and are working hard on placing the needle of suspicion on the BJP leadership, despite evidence from Mangalore and other locations that many of such incidents have been carried out by groups opposed to Prime Minister Modi, so as to defame him despite his focus on development. It does not take much organisation for communal incidents to get initiated in sensitive parts of India, and those behind the ongoing preparations for the "Summer of Discontent" campaign are known to be identifying locations where tensions can get stoked, thereby reinforcing those seeking to create an the international perception of India as being a communal cauldron, when in reality, overall conditions are peaceful.

Regarding the so called church vandalism -
Age of Obfuscation
On February 5, 2015 a news report appeared in The Economic Times and The Times of India which said that Delhi Police in a report to the Home Ministry has said there is no pattern in recent church attacks in Delhi. The report further said the latest incident at St. Alphonsa Church was a stray case. Same report also mentioned that 265 temples too had seen thefts in past one year as well. According to the report in the Economic Times, The Home Ministry has asked Delhi Police to catch the culprits at the earliest and has enquired why arrests have not been made in previous four cases of church attacks. A special Investigation team has also been formed after the arson case in a Dilshad Garden church in December.
So 263 temples were vandalised/robbed as well. This is totally missing from the narrative & focus was on christians, "women & children included bundled into buses" after protests.

Apparently, PP was headed to UK to give a deposition to UK MPs on India's environmental problems.
She can go as a tourist with a tourist visa if she wants, so what stops her (procedurally) if she gives such depositions whle in the UK on a tourist visa?

Explaining the reasons behind the decision to offload Pillai from flight, the official said she was allegedly supposed to make her presentation before some British MPs on India's environmental issues.

"Individual testimony has great value globally. Many foreign governments and agencies prepare report on such testimony and distribute them among European nations and share it even with the US and other developed countries. Very often, all such testimonies are used against India in international trade negotiations, which we cannot allow to continue," the official said.

Submission before British MPs is akin to deposition before the United Kingdom government. It is beyond someone's comprehension how can a foreign government solve India's domestic problems, the official said.

He contended there were several redressal forums within the country besides the courts for NGOs to raise their grievances.

I am not entirely sure why the Indian govt. shivers in its dhoti at the thought of some jokers in the UK writing bad reports about India based on the Priya Pillai's of India giving them fodder for the same, as opposed to returning the favor, like China does with its annual HR report on the USA and EU. What stops the GoI from actually doing such things? I am all for the likes of Priya Pillai and Co being harrassed if they go to foreign governments to what amounts to providing human intel against India, but it is not like the GoI is powerless in returning the favor if it is afraid that the information will harm its WTO negotiations.

arshyam saar, Yes, agree, and have no sympathy for PP or her ilk of traitors and their sympathizers in the Indian think tanks and media. I guess what I was trying to ask was, why is the Indian govt. so afraid to produce its own reports on religious freedom and human rights and environmental degradation or whatever is being used against them by other countries to counter that BS -- why should that stymie the Indian govt., which has the authority to burn any WTO negotiations that tie it down? Why all this one-sided dhoti-shivering and the act that India cannot counter the "reports" of foreign govts?

^^ I agree with the need for a counter/response to such issues, but given that we haven't felt the need to invest in building an Indian PoV in the mainstream, it is not surprising. Probably stems from some IFS babu in the 60s/70s coming with this "we need aid from 'foreign', so don't offend them" theory, which has been dutifully followed to the T subsequently. Or maybe this was evolved after Nehru was shown his place in '62. Or some post-colonial BS. In any case, we don't have a platform to articulate our views. So what's the point of publishing reports no one will read? Or so the reasoning would go.

Forget publishing human rights reports, let's see how we ensure the human rights of a citizen assaulted in Madison, AL this week. So far, only some mumbling about 'seeking clarifications'.

Our national animal is the Tiger, but we are happy playing a domesticated elephant.

If the Delhi police chief says that the motive was just robbery, why are the Christian groups in New Delhi raising a racket about it being a "hate crime" and pointing fingers at hindus? Also, note the picture in the Outlook article that seems to imply the behaviour of the police is also suspect and that they are complicit in hate crimes. The mofo who is in charge of outlook's editing seems to be intent on creating a international incident of "Indian hindoo hate crime" out of a robbery, and it is more than likely that he is being influenced by the same churches who are creating a racket that all of these are hate crimes, when the police disagrees. this is starting to look like some externally-funded and motivated rabble rousing, possibly by political parties who are in their deathbed and don't have anything better to do.

IS to be banned under UAPA - The Hindu
The Union Home Ministry may soon issue a notification banning Islamic State, a terror outfit, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

“It has been proposed to ban the IS, which was earlier known as Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL). A notification may be issued soon,” said a Home Ministry official.

The outfit has already been proscribed in India, as it is listed in the Schedule to the United Nations Prevention and Suppression of Terrorism (Implementation of Security Council Resolutions) Order.

“The notification will explicitly put the outfit on the list of banned organisations,” the official said.

Modi Cabinet to cut paper trail, go Kindle
Union Cabinet meetings will soon go paperless. The government is finalising a plan to put all Cabinet notes on Kindle devices, which ministers will use at meetings and return to the Cabinet Secretariat immediately after.
The government’s technology arm, the National Informatics Centre (NIC), has been instructed to implement this within six months.
Apart from cutting down paper use, the Prime Ministers’ Office believes the move will block what it sees as “leakage of information” on critical issues to the media before decisions are taken on them.
Once the system falls into place, minutes of a Cabinet meeting including any dissent note would not leave any paper trail in the future either.
While using paperless model is good and I support it, not sure how using a device imported from China/USA will prevent "leakage of information".
There is always danger of backdoor trojan/virus in such devices.

All of kindle data is in the "amazon cloud" which is a set of file servers that store the data associated with every device that is accessible if one knows the registration id of the device. All of the software and hardware is under the control of Amazon -- someone with enough corporate clearance could read all communications and internet traffic generated by the kindle tablets of the people in the PMO office. Not to mention, the NSA can break the 128-bit/256-bit encryption of all messages between the kindle and amazon's servers, quite easily I might add. Takes under a day.

One would think the Indian govt. can get some Indians to create a secure version of tablets that are mostly based on open source software. As an aside, the US govt. stores its information is a special amazon cloud meant only for US govt. information, and is under the physical control of the US govt. -- the server farms are physically separated and isolated from the regular commercial amazon cloud.

Pity that a country that is supposed one of the competent software industry companies can't provide sufficient support to the PM to make such crucial decisions as acquiring secure communications for those in the PMO -- these are the same incompetent jokers in the Indian bureaucracy that allowed Huawei to run all the communication networks used by the Indian armed forces, and their defense was "we have the source code for all of Huawei's code, and someone in IISC possesses it". None of them figured out that all Huawei needed to do to penetrate the networks of the Indian armed forces was to not provide bug fixes of zero day defects known to the chinese hackers -- possessing the source code does not mean knowledge of all the bugs in the code...a fact that someone in IISC would have pointed out to the Indian govt., you would think.

I hope the right people are reading this. Hosting our confidential communications in the cloud of a US corp who does not even have data centers in India and is not obliged to follow Indian laws is plain stupidity. This is unpardonable even if done by UPA government.

Sadhvi Pragya gets court's nod to meet her ailing mother

Sadhvi Pragya gets just 1 hour to meet her ailing mother but Sanjay Dutt is out every month for every Tom/Dick and Harry reason. What is BJP doing to help her? If the case is false then the charges should have been dropped by now. No acche din for her.
