Please no, no, he is better, he is also a Kashmir activist.

http://www.parliament.uk/edm/2015-16/293

"That this House condemns all systematic human rights violations committed in Kashmir; calls on the Government to encourage the Indian government to abolish the Indian Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act which has been pronounced by several UN treaty bodies to be in violation of international law; further calls on the Government to encourage the Indian government to deliver a referendum on Kashmir as promised in 1948 to allow Kashmiri self-determination; and calls on the Government to work constructively with Pakistan, India and China to bring a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Kashmir."

ie a Class 1 Pr#ck who if asked could not name 5 Indian states but has knowledge of Kashmiri matters.

He is also in favour of the UK pulling out of NATO, and of dismantling its nuclear deterrent. If that comes to pass, the UK will have to relinquish its UN security council permanent veto-wielding membership; India would be the natural successor.

Nicola Sturgeon today was suggesting that if Tory rule will continue at Westminster (as Labour might have made itself unelectable under Corbyn), then Scottish independence would have to be given another go.

And lo and behold, we have this (BBC):

SNP manifesto to reveal possible second referendum timetable

With the EU referendum also coming up, it should be a fun few years.

May be this is OT, but is it not Win==Win situation and how is block voting separate from secularism in UK? Afterall, the country has cultivated very strong relations with Pakistan for various reasons.

Corbyn refers to Hamas and Hezbollah as "our friends". Having elected him with such a resounding mandate, Labour may sustain serious long term damage. Or, the UK will.

A comprehensively moronic move by Labour. If this fellow Corbyn doesn't change his stripes, Farage will be in with a chance as Party No. 2.

Jeremy Corbyn's landslide election met with scepticism from international press
Gordian

Jeremy Corbyn’s landslide election as Labour leader has been greeted with praise from left-leaning politicians on several continents, but a great deal of scepticism from the international press.“I wish him well in his new and challenging role as leader of the British Labour Party and look forward to working with him in the time ahead to ensure that the gains of the peace process are built upon.”But there was hostile reception for Corbyn in parts of Europe and the Middle East. German newspaper Die Welt described Corbyn as a “leftist Utopian, not fit for the real world” and said his election proved that the British left had lost touch with reality.[\b]The Times of Israel gave its story the headline “Anti-Israel Jeremy Corbyn is new UK Labour leader” adding that the “far-left MP has empathised with Hezbollah, Hamas,” and reporting that British Jews were “alarmed by his ties to ‘Holocaust deniers, terrorists and some outright anti-Semites’”.
BBC Monitoring reported that a website associated with Hamas had welcomed Corbyn’s election. It quoted the Al-Risalah website as saying: “He is one of the most prominent British figures who voiced solidarity with the Palestinian cause and declared his rejection of the war on Gaza.”The Middle East Eye website was one of many publications and broadcasters to focus on the likely impact on British foreign policy, suggesting official attitudes towards the Middle East might change.
The sentiment was echoed by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation which suggested Corbyn might “cause headaches” for David Cameron on foreign affairs.In the United States, many newspapers and commentators drew parallels with the momentum building behind Democratic senator Bernie Sanders, a socialist who is taking on the favourite Hilary Clinton in the race to become their party’s presidential candidate. The Wall Street Journal said that Sanders and Corbyn – “a white-bearded vegetarian” – had “tapped into widespread discontent with mainstream politicians with their straightforward, alternative messages”.Many US commentators have paid attention to Corbyn’s left-wing credentials. The Washington Examiner noted that Corbyn was a columnist for the Morning Star, “a newspaper that was originally an organ of the Communist Party of Great Britain”. But it also said one of his positions was “more relatable to Americans”, describing Corbyn as “small-R republican – which is to say, he favours abolition of the British monarchy”.In India, where Communist politicians have held power in some states for decades, Corbyn’s left-wing background has raised fewer eyebrows.The Hindu said Labour had come “full circle” from Tony Blair to Corbyn. It also highlighted the new leader’s interventions in Indian affairs, with his support of Dalits – so-called “untouchables” and lower-caste Indians – and that he had recently criticised the Indian government for its human rights record in Kashmir and other parts of India.

Why are those two - Dismantling Nucs and veto in UNSC - related? Whether UK dismantles or not, entire EU should get one UNSC seat. If UNSC is not expanded the left over seat should naturally go to India. If it is expanded then SA and Brazil are the other two rining the UNSC veto members to a grand total of 7 - EU, the two - one of them former - superpowers, China, India, South Africa, and Brazil. Europe will have two, Asia being the largest in terms of both land mass and population will have two, SA and Brazil who are the early supporters and ratifiers of NPT will be from two unrepresented continents.

The Hindu chips in -
Jeremy Corbyn — a sympathiser of Dalits and critic of communalism
‘The Dalit peoples who have suffered untold discrimination despite the Indian constitution’s claim to protect them march in huge numbers, and many union groups from miners to forestry workers march against re-structuring and privatisation.
It also asked the British government to work within the U.N. and the Commonwealth “to prevent further deterioration in relations between the varied communities of present day India.” Earlier this year, he was a signatory on two EDMs, the first on human rights violations in Kashmir, and the second on human rights violations in India.
And finally someone left a comment for the article
If Mr.Corbyn is ready to repatriate the estimated 3 trillion pounds his forefathers looted and scammed India, then it would be a welcome step.

Looking at Corbyn's views and antics, he seems to have passed out of the Mani Shankar Aiyar school of treason, anti-nationalism and Islamist-love.

Oh, I hope so much that the Brish1ts vote him in as PM next time, although that sadly is unlikely to happen.

Sorry if mentioned before, but BBC had a feature on Sunday morning( North America) about the Indian railways, specifically the rail lines emanating from CST station in Mumbai. It did show the crowded stations, and some people hanging out of coaches.

But the whole tone of the show was very respectful, at times awe inspired, about the difficulty of running such a system. They did go 'behind the scenes' and interview people at the control centre, and film workers cleaning and maintaining the rail lines and stations. There were two Caucasian Britishers and one Indian origin woman presenting the programme. All pretty down to earth, cheerful, humorous and respectful at once.

britshit bullshit cooperation and respect for India doesn't go well together, maybe you were just too innocent to notice anything. Either way I have no interest in knowing about Indian railways from a bunch of lying briturds, they should do documentaries on briturd land's daughters first where 1400 white underage girls were raped by pakis and the society took it gracefully in the name of democracy.. not that I care. But it's amusing to see high and mighty smug feminist coming all the way to India to make documentaries about society's injustices against women when she can make one right outside her hosh posh britshit land...

bunch of tards lol, I hope these morons are kicked out as soon as they enter or take away their cams at the airport, give it back when they are leaving.

Revenge! Drugs, debauchery and the book that lays Dave bare: How PM's snub to billionaire who funded the Tories for years sparked the most explosive political book of the decade

Quote:

• Mr Cameron was a member of a ‘dope smoking group’ called the Flam Club at Oxford University;
• Cocaine was later allowed to circulate at his and his wife’s London home;
• Mr Cameron was also in a debauched Oxford society that specialises in ‘bizarre rituals and sexual excess’;
• The book reports a source who claims that during Mr Cameron’s initiation ceremony he ‘put a private part of his anatomy’ into a dead pig’s mouth. Furthermore, the source claims to have seen photographic evidence;
• Lynton Crosby, the pollster who guided the PM to electoral victory, privately thinks he is a ‘tosser’ and ‘posh ****’.

The proles will flock to him at the next national elections. Considering he is in favour of devolving Scotland, giving up on EU - he seems the best guy to vote for in 2019. I would. It will speed up the demise of UK. Good times.

Harris, Sarah. “Student Digs Ain’t What They Used To Be!” Daily Mail [UK] 18 Sep. 2015.

UNIVERSITY halls once meant students had to put up with grotty communal bathrooms, over-stuffed kitchen bins and blocked sinks – but the days of slumming it are long gone for today’s freshers.

King-size beds with Egyptian cotton sheets, flat-screen TVs, personal trainers, fresh fruit deliveries and an on-site cinema are more the order of the day.

The 131-flat development, which owners say is seven star’, has opened for students as one of the growing number of university halls offered by private firms. Apartment prices in the Leeds development, called The Edge, range from £140 to £203 per week.

Student housing charity Unipol estimated private firms provided four in five new bed spaces in 2013. But critics say it has pushed up housing costs with half of students struggling to afford rent, according to charity Shelter.

*Cambridge University has ruled out raising tuition fees above £9,000 a year. Vice chancellor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz told Times Higher Education that teaching costs were £16,700 a year per undergraduate, but higher fees would threaten student access.

------------------

Cambridge is cheap compared to universities in the US. But the rising rental costs are going to be the killer. I think we will see fewer and fewer lower calss/working class people of UK getting higher education thus widening the gap between the upper crust and the bottom rung. No skin off my Indo-American nose though. They have to solve their own problems.

http://www.thehindu.com/news/international/woman-gets-184k-in-uk-caste-bias-case/article7682113.ece?utm_source=MostPopular&utm_medium=International&utm_campaign=WidgetPromo
In a landmark ruling, the practice of caste discrimination – a hidden but widespread phenomenon within Britain’s 4.5-million strong Asian community – was identified as a violation of Britain’s Equalities Act 2010.

An employment tribunal ordered that Permila Tirkey, 39, an Adivasi from Bihar who was held in near-bondage by her employers for a period of four-and-a-half years be awarded her unpaid wages. He ordered that Pooja and Ajay Chandhok from Milton Keynes, who paid Ms. Tirkey 11p an hour for an 18-hour workday, pay her £184,000 in unpaid wages. Ms. Tirkey described herself as “low caste” and “servant class”, the Tribunal noted. The Chandoks, who recruited her in 2008, “wanted someone who would be not merely of service but servile”, the Tribunal said. They did not seek to recruit a U.K. resident “because no such person would have accepted the intended conditions of work”.

The Tribunal upheld several of the victim’s claims on working conditions. Ms. Tirkey performed childcare duties, cooking, cleaning and laundry for the couple, their twin children, and visiting relatives. She slept on a mattress on the floor on a converted landing. Her working day ended at 12 pm after which she was on night call.

She was not allowed to go out alone, nor contact anyone. Telephone calls from her family in India were restricted and her employees kept her passport and bankcard with them.

The Tribunal said that the Respondents did not allow the victim, who is a Christian, to bring her bible with her nor attend church. They referred to her as “girl”, and made her wear inappropriate second hand clothing. It was clear that the claimant was treated disadvantageously because “she was born in a sect preordained to work in a servile capacity for wealthier Indians who were …of a higher caste background”, the Tribunal said.

According to the Anti-Trafficking and Labour Exploitation Unit (ATLEU), which took up her case, Ms. Tirkey responded with relief to the judgment. “I want the public to know what happened to me as it must not happen to anyone else. The stress and anxiety that this sort of thing creates for a person can destroy them. I have not been able to smile because my life had been destroyed. Now I am able to smile again. Now I am free.”

Dalit groups in the U.K., which have been pressing the Government to amend the Equalities Act 2010 to include caste discrimination as an aspect of race discrimination, have welcomed the Tribunal’s verdict.

“This is an excellent outcome for the victim,” said Meena Varma of the Dalit Solidarity Network. While this judgment will be closely studied by the U.K. government, the Tribunal’s decision “refers to this case alone and does not set a precedent”, she said. “In this order, the judge said that discrimination could be established under the ‘ethnic origin’ aspect of the Equalities Act – but that other cases could be different. Therefore, we still need caste-based discrimination legislation to protect potential victims of caste discrimination.”

Chris Milsom of Cloisters, barrister for Ms. Tirkey, highlighted the significance of the judgment in recognising caste discrimination as a human rights violation for the first time. “Those who have closely followed the legislative history of the Equality Act will recall that the Government’s original rationale for refusing explicit prohibition of caste-based discrimination was that there was no evidence of it taking place in the UK. The damning findings of the Employment Tribunal render this stance untenable. Where such discrimination exists its victims must be protected.”

panduranghari,

I know about this Dalit Solidarity Network. Set up, controlled and being manipulated by christian fanatics.
They want to create a scism in India and amongst Indians, break the country up and have it controlled.

But I honestly do think that the attitude of the higher castes towards the lower has to change. I know that not all high castes are rich and not all the low castes are poor. However the common man has to be empowered. That will come with economic development, which will come with industrial development etc.

These EJ's are very dishonest and manipulative.

Yes,the BBC's programme on Indian Railways,primarily on VT and the Bombay local network,was v.good.The Matunga workshop was the largest seen by one of the anchors,v.efficient and an amazing amt. of work done "bespoke",even to the tapping of metal listening for faults,corrosion,etc.
It beats me why Doordarshan couldn't have come up with such a programme. DD could feature the various rail networks across the country.One could easily make over 100 episodes.There's a huge rail fan following worldwide and authors like Paul Theroux (great railway bazaar,etc.) has popularized railways and rail travel worldwide.It would be great for Indian tourism.

My old man said that in his days,they could buy a "go as you please pass" for a month,etc.,which you could use anywhere on Indian railways.My Dad and Mum used it for their honeymoon.Those days,and in my salad days,the carriages were far cleaner ,the panelling was beautifully polished and how the brass shone!

Philip,

The mosque is an Ahamedi mosque. It is not actually too far from where I live. The ahamedi's are persecuted by the majority Sunni. The mosque is in SW London, not far from Tooting (Islamic Republic of) which is full of paks and they have been in serious conflict.
Until more news comes out, it could be a sunni on ahamedi attack.
Either way it will have to be rebuilt, so some infidels will make money out of it.

Few leaders can fill Wembley: Cameron’s challenge to Modi
New York, Sep 29: British Prime Minister David Cameron on Monday told his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi that he was looking forward to his UK visit and that only few leaders can fill up the Wembley Stadium in London.Modi yesterday held separate bilateral meetings with Cameron during which talks were held on key issues like terrorism, UNSC reforms and climate change.During the meeting, Cameron said he was greatly looking forward to the Prime Minister’s visit to the UK in November.“There was a discussion on the continued co-operation on intelligence and cyber security,” Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said while briefing reporters.Prime Minister also invited Britain to be an active partner in ‘Make in India’ programme.During their talks, Cameron joked with Modi that, “Very few leaders can fill the Wembley Stadium,” where the Indian community in the UK is planning to host an Olympic-style reception for the Indian Premier.

Britain’s Dharmic Communities and the General Election 2015

The General Election of 7 May 2015 (GE2015) marks a remarkable shift in British politics in terms of the organisation, political awareness, public demands, and voting patterns of the Dharmic communities. This report outlines these shifts, examines the possible reasons thereof, and provides further reflection on the issues that will remain salient to the British Dharmic voter for the future. For the purposes of this briefing the Dharmic voter is a person who follows any of the Indian traditions. While there is some research and analysis of how Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups or Asians in general tend to vote, there is little available research on how the Dharmic communities have tended to vote or act during elections. This report is therefore the first to tackle this specific domain. Follow this link to download and read the full report:

^^ charm and sweet talk can go only so far. These former colonizer so are no fools. lathon ke bhoot baaton se nahi maante. India must cleverly use its 1 billion consumer market. India must not allow these countries to sell their products/services if they continue to support pakis. Remember India would have been sanctioned by YooYes for dealing with EyeRan. Indians can't sell their goods in YooYes by supporting countries YooYes does not want them to associate with.
