Iraq summons Turkish ambassador over troops near Mosul

Turkey says it deployed 150 soldiers in the town of Bashiqa year to train Iraqi Kurdish forces fighting the Islamic State (IS) group.

Mosul has been under the control of IS militants since last year.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu described the deployment as a routine troop rotation. He said Turkish forces had set up a camp near Mosul a year ago in co-ordination with Iraq.

Kurds in Syria are different political view as compared to Kurds in Iraq, led by 'mossad agent' Barzani.

Iraqi Kurds (leadership) are pro-west, pro-Turkey, pro-Israel, pro-NATO. Kindly recall excuse for Turks to be in Iraq is that Barzani invited them. So they are on cordial terms.

Turks are deathly afraid of Syrian Kurds, who basically have origins in Turkey and fled to Syria after some historical event.

Syrian Kurds are suspiscious of USA, NATO, Israel, Turkey and are amenable to being allies with Assad, not because they love him but because they enjoy status-quo under him. And will be left alone. But SAA can crush the kurds if there is no ISIS/Nusra threat left. So they are wary of that too. Syrian Kurds are also amenablr to being allies with Russia and send positive feelers all the time.

Of course after GW II certain latitude was given Iraqi Kurds to get to Saddam hiding and also to control Malaiki government...

DEIR EZZOR – Extremists of the Islamic State group (ISIS) have executed two prominent Syrian media activists in the stranded eastern city of Deir ez-Zor, activists reported on Saturday.

Sami al-Rabah and Mustafa al-Hass, who used to cover stories on the daily atrocities by the terror group in Deir ez-Zor, were executed by ISIS militants on Friday, an informed source and eyewitnesses confirmed to ARA News. They were both shot dead in front of a crowd of people in central Deir ez-Zor.

Both victims were working on behalf of the Deir ez-Zor Media Center, which has been documenting ISIS violations against civilians in the city and its countryside for more than a year.

Based on my high level observation during transit thru desert lands, I got a feeling that it is no more an exception but almost a norm that children are being used in nefarious purposes. I won't be surprised if some of human trafficking (india being majorly affected country) particularly children are diverted to islamic lands to be used as soldiers as well as human bombs. This applies to AfPak theater too.

There is nothing left that is not weaponized.

This is the guy who is close to McCain, who himself claimed to be in touch with Syrian rebels, who Syrian govt says are indistinguishable from ISIS, on daily basis.

Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press," Sen. Graham also said he wants the White House to "come up with a regional army to go in and destroy the caliphate in Raqqa, Syria."

Sen. Graham warned, "there's a 9/11-style attack coming to America, and I can tell you who's planning it: the leaders of ISIL (ISIS). And I can tell you where they're at: they're in Raqqa, Syria."

Sen. Paul, known for being outspoken on this issue, asked "How much liberty do we want to give up for a false sense of security?"

He further claimed "no terrorist case has been thwarted" because of bulk data collection.

Taking the opposite view, Sen. Graham said he would "reinstate the NSA program as robust as possible, within Constitutional limits." He also criticized budget cuts that he says are "gutting" the FBI.

Both senators also reacted strongly on the question of increased gun regulations in the wake of the San Bernardino attack. Sen. Graham responded, "Gun control is not part of a strategy to defeat radical Islam or take (ISIS) down."
