In This Holiday Season Of "Slow News", Pakistan's Defense Minister, K. Asif Is Making Headlines Across World !

Duped by fake news, Pakistan minister makes nuke threat to Israel

AFP

December 26, 2016
His missive prompted a clarification from Israel's Ministry of Defense, which responded to him on Saturday:
"@KhawajaMAsif The statement attributed to fmr Def Min Yaalon re Pakistan was never said," adding: "KhawajaMAsif reports referred to by the Pakistani Def Min are entirely false".
Last week Google said it was working to refine its algorithm to weed out "non-authoritative" information after a British news report showed a Holocaust denial website was the top result when users asked "Did the Holocaust happen?" :D
It seems to me, that the Hon Minister, instead of spending this holiday time with his friends and family in Sialkot, is "addicted" to his mobile, and definetely needs some "professional therapy" . ( The American Psychiatric Association has determined that "computer addiction" is a mental disease :D )

CDWP clears three CPEC-related projects
SLAMABAD: Just days before their official inclusion in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the government on Friday cleared three infrastructure projects along the western and eastern routes at a cost of Rs109 billion, fulfilling the last formality for their inclusion into CPEC.
The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) cleared these schemes so that they could be placed before the Joint Cooperation Committee meeting (JCC) – the body mandated to add or delete any project in CPEC. The JCC meetings will take place in Beijing next week.

I remember reading COAS Bajwa saying peace will soon reign, right after he took over.
Actually post demonetization we have had at least two serious attacks, one in Nagrota's BSF camp in which 7 soldiers were killed and then in Pampore in which 3 soldiers were killed. In addition there was another incident in which I think 1 soldier was killed. All these attacks have happened after LOC had already gone quiet. But so far I have not read about any retaliation in Indian or Paki media. No response to an attack of Nagrota's magnitude so far is somewhat baffling.

Will The New Chief Of Paki Fauj Propa-gandu Unit (AKA I.S.P.R. ) Live Up To The "Tech Savvy" Reputation Of Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa

Let's all remember ISPR chief Bajwa as the Instagram hero he totally is
Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa bid adieu to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) office on Sunday.Lt Bajwa served a term of 4 years 7 months, but his legacy isn't limited to maintaining the image of the Pakistani army — he will also be remembered as the first ISPR chief to tap into the power of Instagram!Bajwa's Instagram account, which kicked off a little less than three years ago, is gold! On the social media platform, Bajwa was crafting his own image not only as our sturdy, upright ISPR chief, but also as world-travelling family guy, who's a favourite of celebs and the general public alike.
Have a look-see:
Along with "ex -buddy" Raheel, Bajwa, it could be stated, single -handedly, (due to his knowledge of Twitter, Instagram,) won the war (on paper only !) against TTP, RAA, Indian Fauj, MQM , and other "enemies" of Pakistan. :D

Imran Khan "Wants In" On CPEC.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday made it clear that his party has issues with the federal government over China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) but not China. When it comes to "Chini blothers", you walk on "egg shells" :D
"He [Nawaz] promised at the All Parties Conference that a western route of the project would be made and KP would be the beneficiary of it but now we came to know that province is being deprived of its due share from the CPEC," he said.
He alleged that PM Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz used to visit China and the chief ministers of the rest of three provinces were unaware of the developments. Ganja, the master "dehati politician" !

C.P.E.C Is The Panacea For All Ills Of Pakistan :D

Poor response to notices sent to offshore company owners.
ISLAMABAD: The country’s tax officials received a poor response to the notices they had sent to the owners of offshore companies, as revealed in the Panama Papers and Bahamas leaks, according to sources. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had sent notices to 444 individuals, who were said to own companies in nine tax havens in the world — the British Virgin Islands (271), Bahamas (25), Panama (84), Seychelles (44), Niue (10), Samoa (four), Mauritius (three), Anguilla (two) and Jersey (one).
The FBR’s directorate of intelligence and investigation of Inland Revenue received responses from 57 individuals, who confirmed owning offshore companies.
According to the officials, 11 individuals were reported to be dead in the responses received from their widows. “In some cases, the women were shocked to know that their husbands owned offshore companies,” the official said
In view of the poor response, FBR officials have sent reminders to 69 individuals.
(i) I suspect that in this "FBR Project", there is an attempt towards an = = (ii) The list obviously does not include the present and past PMs of Pakiland, Jernails and kernels of the fauj, and those with enough "sifarish" to demand exclusion from the list

Nagrota if you recall was planned to be a massive attack by TSP. They did not succeed, but IMO, it was revenge for surgical strike. While they did not succeed, they (TSP) did manage to get their proxies in Indian media like Ajay Shukla, K.C. Singh etc to mock ModiJi/DovalJi doctrine. Plus, they (TSP) did take out 7 of our guys. All in all, more hits are needed to make TSP behave. But given demonitization is still in play, with Pappu and his slaves on full throttle going against ModiJi, I am not sure he will take any risk till demonitization settles down.

Pakistani Women "Working" In Saudi Arabia As Beggars Arrested !

Saudi Arabia arrests 18 Pakistanis ahead of Umrah season
RIYADH – The government of Saudi Arabia has detained 18 Pakistani including women who were allegedly working as beggars in the country while taking action on intelligence reports. The arrests came as Saudi authorities came to know of beggars mafia that reportedly sent 210 Pakistanis to the holy cities for minting money.According to a report by Dunya News, most of the detainees were residents of Rahim Yar Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan. They have been kept in Madina jail with women in barrack no.56 and men in barrack no.47 while the search operation is still underway for the remaining 192 Pakistanis.
“The beggars stay in Madina till Hajj and have to earn 20,000-25,000 riyal. Half of the money goes to the organizers and the remaining are ours. Before coming to Madina, Jamal Khan from Dera Ghazi Khan and Dawai Khan from Karachi give us some amount in advance for our family. The amount is then deducted from the earnings of begging,” he pronounced. He went on to claim that the beggars were sent to Madina through Ali Shah travel agency of Rahim Yar Khan linked to Malik Iqbal although Malik Iqbal refuted the allegations adding that his agency followed the norms and laws regarding air-travel.
The Saudis have hardened their stance (i) due to the refusal of Pakistan to side with them on the Yemen war (ii) as a result of Modi-ji's visit to Saudia

What Is Good For the Goose (Paki Fed Govt Employees ) Is Not Good For The Gander ( Paki Fed Govt ) :D

Govt mulls discontinuing Saturday’s weekly off in federal capital
ISLAMABAD – The Federal Government decided in principle to finish the Saturday holiday as weekly off in the Federal departments across the country. The former PPP-led government announced two weekly holidays for the federal departments to overcome the growing energy crises. The two day weekend has affected the performance of federal departments adversely, and therefore, it has been decided to observe only one holiday in a week instead of two holidays in the federal government offices.According to sources, a summary is being forwarded by Interior ministry to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in this regard. Summary will soon be approved, sources said.
Does it make any difference to the Paki "work ethic" whether Saturday is a working day or not a working day; secondly, after almost 70 year of existence, the Paki Govt has still not made up its mind as to the working hours of its employees ( just like it switched [ in Islamic zeal !]the weekly sabbath from Sunday to Friday and back to Sunday and just like its "Islamic Ideology" does not know whether to identify with South Asia or with Ummah brothers and the middle east :D

A Cwapistani deputy commissioner's (inland revenue) step by step primer on money laundering of black money!

Taken to the cleaners

Lawmakers are considering withdrawing the high denomination Rs5,000 currency notes from circulation in order to curb the flow of black money. In the UAE, letters are being sent out to rich foreigners and residents to give proof of their tax status, precipitating a flurry of worry in Pakistan. The government is trying to get a law passed against benami transactions carried out under misleading names. And a new law imposes a 3% tax on real estate in an amnesty scheme hoping to get people to turn black money white, for lack of a better phrase. According to a 2012 report by Bloomberg news, Pakistan’s black economy is probably worth half its 18-trillion-rupee ($200 billion) official gross domestic product.

The government defines ‘black money’ as tax-evaded income. In most instances, it is earned through illicit means; however, the definition of black money also encompasses income earned through legal means on which tax is evaded. It is the income received in cash, not accounted for on the books, and concealed from the government and tax authorities.

Generating black money

Most commonly, black money is generated through some form of corruption. Take for example, income received as a bribe for approving a building sanction plan. This transaction would not take place over a cheque or bank draft. It will not be entered in the books of the receiver and therefore no taxes will be paid on it.

Black money is generated on the sale of assets as well. If the actual value of an asset is higher than the one shown on paper and declared in the income tax return, then the excess is taken in cash and becomes black money as tax was not paid on on it.

Another way to conceal transactions is to avoid making invoices. The income received on that transaction is thus untaxed. These transactions could include a sale of any form of goods or services. We see this most commonly practiced by restaurants, where they give customers the choice to either pay less without an invoice or pay more with the invoice (the amount includes 16% tax). In local jargon, the bills are called ‘kacha’ and ‘pakka’ bills.

Businesses also often create fake expenses to bring down their income to reduce the amount of tax that can be applied. Fictitious expenses conceal some portion of the income on which the tax is not paid.

Conversion of black money

When tax evaders generate black money, they do not deposit the money in the bank out of fear of being caught by the agencies. So they find ways to either hoard the cash or spend it on property or ‘white’ goods. Here are some of the common ways through which black money is converted into white:

Real estate: Real estate is one of the major sectors where huge amounts of black money are parked. People across the world use real estate deals for black money conversions. One practice with regard to this is known as the ‘benami transaction’, through which property is purchased without a name or under the name other than that of the actual purchaser. For instance, Mr. Ali buys a house under the name of Mrs. Ali. The payment is made by Mr. Ali but on paper the property belongs to his wife. The IRS detects such transactions through running a check on income details. If Mrs. Ali does not have any declared source of income, it becomes clear that the payment was made by another person, possibly to hide their black money earnings. In other instances, the transaction may be carried out under a fictitious name. And so broadly speaking benami transactions are used to park untaxed money in the form of real estate, shares, bank accounts, stocks, and other forms of assets.

Hawala or hundi transactions: Suppose a tax evader based in Islamabad has Rs5 million in black money. Since it is black money, depositing it in bank is out of the question. So, he seeks the help of a hawala agent. The agent takes the cash in Islamabad and transfers it in foreign currency to another agent based elsewhere in the world. Then that money is rerouted back as a foreign remittance—which luckily enough are not taxed. The tax evader can get this money back to Pakistan as foreign remittance, Foreign Direct Investment or by investing in shares or property abroad. It is estimated that the hundi and hawala business crossed the $15 billion a year mark during 2015, according to a report released in December 2015.

Agricultural source income: Agricultural income is exempt under Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. And so, people making black money get fictitious receipts to show they have earned income from agriculture. But to show income from agriculture, you must be able to prove you have a piece of land on which you do your farming. If people try to cover their black money like this the chances of being caught are high because they can’t produce evidence to support their claim when the income tax authorities go sniffing.

Gifts: Black money is often declared as a gift received from relatives. But in this case, a relative who has the same amount in white money becomes an accomplice. The accomplice issues a cheque for the amount to show it is as a gift, but they cash back from the black money earner. Any amount of money received from relatives as a gift is exempt from income tax if received through the proper banking channels. The tax authorities strictly investigate such claims to tighten the noose on tax evaders.

Multiple bank accounts: Often tax evaders open multiple bank accounts in the names of their family members and deposit black money here. The income tax authorities will, however, go looking into the sources of these people’s income to unveil such illegal practices.

Prize bonds: Often black money earners buy winning prize bonds from their actual owners at higher prices to convert their black money into white.

Black as black: Often black money is spent in black without being converted into white. People invest in property, spending on weddings and events, buy goods and services such as interior decoration, pay for education expenses, buy gold (instead of accumulating cash, black money is converted into valuable jewelry).

Curbing the menace

The government is looking for ways to bring home ‘black money’ stashed abroad and to discourage the black economy in Pakistan, which weakens the economy at large. The latest development is a 3% property tax.

The Inland Revenue Service is on a constant lookout for tax evaders to keep black money offenders in check. Criminal investigations are opened into possible tax crimes through rigorous audits. The IRS is the only government agency that has the right to investigate possible criminal violations of the tax laws. Other crimes can be investigated by agencies such as the National Accountability Bureau.

The government is, for example, making an effort to introduce new laws. The Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Bill, 2016, was presented before the Senate Standing Committee at the end of November, 2016. Benami transactions can still be identified but properties held in benami cases cannot be confiscated. At present, Pakistan is probably one of the very few countries with no law against benami transactions. If the bill is approved, offenders can face jail time and fines and the government would be able to take the property.

Another way to crack down on black money is to announce amnesty schemes from time to time. The most recent amnesty scheme concerns property law and the insertion of Section 236W in the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. It is an attempt to bring the black economy accumulated in the real estate sector into the tax net. The new law imposes a 3% tax on the difference between the value of property (set by the federal board of revenue) and the value at which it was registered or transferred. Critics of the scheme believe that a trivial 3% tax would only let black money earners clean their wealth. Supporters argue that tackling the black economy should be the main concern at the moment and the new law clearly supports this effort.

More work is needed on foreign remittances and hawala transactions. Explaining the source of foreign remittances could help rein in hawala transactions. Lawbreakers can easily send black money abroad and then receive it back in the form of foreign remittance. According to a report, foreign remittances in Pakistan averaged $2.5 billion between 2002 and 2016, reaching an all-time high of $5.5 billion in the second quarter of the current year. With figures at such a peak, these transactions need to be kept under close watch.

It would be simpler perhaps to crack down on the winning prize bond trick. The government can stop this if prize bonds are issued after proper registration or transfer in the holder or buyer’s name so that the prizes are only issued in their favour.

Demonetization could be another possible solution. This method has been tried and tested by many countries, including Australia, North Korea, and Russia. Recently, the Indian government decided to withdraw high currency denominations of Rs500 and Rs1,000 notes from the system in an attempt to control black money from being accumulated. This decision rendered 86% of the currency in circulation invalid as legal tender. Following this, Pakistan’s Senate recently passed a resolution seeking the withdrawal of the high denomination Rs5,000 currency notes. It will also encourage the use of bank accounts and e-banking but unlike with India, the currency notes will be given a time period of three to five years for withdrawal from the market.

La-Whore Famous Hira Mandi Under Threat From E - Commerce
Pakistan’s oldest red light district was for centuries a hub of traditional erotic dancers, musicians and prostitutes ─ Pigalle with a Mughal twist, deep in the heart of the vibrant city. But as an e-commerce boom revolutionises how Pakistanis conduct the world’s oldest profession, locals say the historic Heera Mandi district is under threat.
Balconies where beautiful women once stood are now empty, while rust eats away at the locked doors of vacant rooms. The only stubborn hold-outs are shops selling instruments that once facilitated the aperitifs of music and dance.
Men now can book a rendezvous online through escort websites or even directly with women over social media, instead of searching out streetside solicitation. With location rendered meaningless, prostitutes like Reema Kanwal ─ who says the business “runs in my blood” ─ have abandoned Heera Mandi.
It is "rumoured" that Noor Jehan, (famous singer,) consort of Yahya Khan started her career from Hira Mandi :D
“People used to respect the prostitutes of Heera Mandi, we were called artists,” she says ─ but all has changed over the last decade.”
“Now we don’t have any honour.”She blames the loss on a rush of girls without her family background taking up the profession who have not been taught “how to treat people” the way she has.
Such girls, she says, need nothing to market themselves but a mobile phone, with which they can advertise on Facebook or Locanto, some offering services over Skype for as little as Rs300.Dozens of escort services with online bookings claim toserve service (spade should be called a spade !) thousands of clients in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad ─ some even in Dubai and Singapore.
In a Muslim country where prostitution is banned and sex outside marriage is criminalised, one website says it caters ("catering" implies appealing to "personal taste" ! )to roughly 50,000 customers.
With the old traditions falling by the wayside, girls also no longer need an entourage of musicians and teachers, say the owners of the music shops that are the final remnants of old Heera Mandi. The intricate mujra dancing that was such a foundation of the red light district required years of teaching and live musicians. Now girls learn easy but provocative dance moves via YouTube.
“They take a USB or sometimes they don’t even need that, they have songs in their cellphones, they plug a cable and play the music,” laments Soan Ali, one of the music shop owners.
Mehak, who is in her mid-50s, says she recruits most of her girls through elite parties ─ but adds “this online thing has really changed the business”.“A girl no longer needs a pimp to market her, she has Facebook, Twitter,” she says.“Heera Mandi is no more… even if a girl is from Heera Mandi she would never reveal it because the client would never risk sexually transmitted diseases and the bad image associated,” she added.
Outside of the Diamond Market, she says, business is good.“Medical students and MBAs have the highest rates, they get a hundred thousand (rupees) for one night,” she says.Clip_19Now she plans to expand and offer male prostitutes.
“Girls from the elite class come to me and beg for boys,” she says.“They say they are ready to pay, but they need strong boys.”

Hard to believe that all these "tasty pleasures" are readily available in the LARGEST Islamic Nation In The World

TB & Nutrition: Half of Pakistan’s Population Has an Inactive TB Infection
Half the population of adults in Pakistan walk around with an inactive TB infection. The bacteria wait for the right time to strike. They become active when the immune system of a person’s body is weakened mainly by under-nutrition, HIV infection, diabetes or old age.
It is incumbent on the government to clearly define for the public, the relationship between TB and malnutrition. Programs need to be speeded up so that the present generation of children can be safeguarded and their futures ensured. It is an issue that should be addressed as soon as possible.
The priorities of GOP are different !

Falijee Ji :

From the above Article : The wealthy even sent their sons to the salons of tawaifs, high-class courtesans that have been likened to Japanese geishas, to study etiquette.

Tawaifs are like ordinary Taxis i.e. Hired for a quick short trip!

The wealthy even sent their sons to the salons of tawaifs, : The phrase in Urdu is "Babu Ji Tehzeeb Kahan Seekhi Jaati Hai?" The Answer is "Tehzeeb Seekhi Bai Ji Kay Kothay Pur!"

The author is a Typical Cwapistani - comparing Tuwwaif to Geishas. Believe me a Visitor to a Geishas CANNOT EVEN TOUCH A GEISHA.

Question: There have been political statements from Pakistan inviting India to join the CPEC. Would you like to comment on that?

Official Spokesperson, Shri Vikas Swarup: See, our position on the CPEC is very well known. One Belt One Road is a Chinese initiative and CPEC is an integral part of that and CPEC passes through sovereign Indian territory. So obviously our concerns in this regard have been conveyed clearly both to China as well as to Pakistan.

SSridhar wrote:Behind Pakistan’s CPEC offer - Editoril, The Hindu

The Leftist spokesmedium, The Hindu, wants India to take up the Pakistani Army general's offer and join CPEC. Can The Hindu get any more pathetic than this? Absolutely horrendous.
While there can be little expectation of any room for India in CPEC at present, there is space for India to step back and see where China and Pakistan want to go with it. The offer to India was made along with offers to other “neighbouring countries”. Already, Iran wants Gwadar to be a “sister” port to Chabahar, and Turkmenistan and other Central Asian republics have shown interest in the warm-water port that will be a nodal point for goods through Pakistan to the Chinese city of Kashgar. Further north, despite its problems on terror from Pakistan, Afghanistan is becoming a nodal point for China’s connectivity projects to Iran. The meeting among Russian, Chinese and Pakistani officials on Afghanistan this week, and Russian engagement with the Taliban, indicate much more is changing in the region than just the alignment of highways and tunnels. While India has done well to shore up relations with others in the region, it cannot afford to be blindsided by their involvement with the OBOR project and Chinese plans. CPEC is no longer a project in Pakistan, but one that runs through it, a project that will link 64 countries.

Are India, Iran and Russia Parting Ways on Afghanistan?
With the entry of ISIS into the Afghanistan equation, Indian interests have diverged from those of Russia and Iran, who have said that ISIS is a much more dangerous threat than the Taliban.
The argument provided is that ISIS has presence in Afghanistan and therefore the parties should now take it easy on Taliban.

This of course is nonsense and another pakistani trick to somehow get the Taliban to be recognised by other countries and negotiated with.

That Russia is willing to buy into this only points to the fact that Moscow, like Washington is willing to accomodate jihaadis from Paki projects as long as they dont directly endanger its interests.

Safe seat and/ or BB sympathy vote in Larkana and surrounding areas assures both of these waderas an MNA seat . About teaching "Nawaz Sharif a lesson", that is entirely a different matter

Bahraini king, family members get permits to hunt protected houbara bustard
KARACHI: The federal government has issued at least seven special permits to dignitaries of Bahrain, including King Sheikh Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, to hunt the internationally protected bird houbara bustard in the country during the 2016-17 hunting season, according to sources.
Among those who have been given the permits to hunt the migratory bird in Sindh and Balochistan are an uncle of the king, his defence adviser, a field marshaland armed forces chief, and other members of the Bahraini royal family, according to the sources.
Field Marshal[/u] (self -appointed like Ayub Khan  ) and Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Forces Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa will hunt the bird in Toisar tehsil of Musakhel district in Balochistan. The king’s first cousin and interior minister, Lt Gen Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa, will hunt the migratory bird in Jaffarabad district of Balochistan. (Royals will hunt birds, Balochis will hunt the Royals )

Pakistan provides "muscle" to the Sunni Sheikh to stop the in Shia uprising in Bahrain ; Pakistan is providing "houbara hunting" to the Sheikhs ; Pakistanis are treated like shxt in Gulf and Saudia ; What are they getting in return ?

US asked to contribute to CPEC

Pakistan has important matters to deal with ( LOC "violations" by India , Baloch insurgency, Karachi unrest etc etc ) and yet everyone in that accursed country is "preoccupied" with the CPEC . It is high time that Ganja should appoint a Federal Minster For CPEC ; First task: tour foreign nations, invite them to join CPEC and solicit donations ( they can start with Massaland !)

Maybe this is a dumb idea, but what if India allows Chinese trucks through to drive to ports in the west coast of India?
Selling points for China:
(a) Far less unrest on route, so goods have a much better chance of getting through safely.
(b) Shorter route to a port.
(c) Road infra to be provided by India, so no need for spending money on construction/maintenance.
(d) Multiple choice of ports.

Selling points for India:
(a) Charge transit fees for the route and use that money to build up road/rail infrastructure in India. The same highways/rails can be used by India as well for inter-state commerce.
(b) Take away transit fees from Pakland (i.e.) the Pakis will be repaying loans for their CPEC highway, but not getting any income from it.
(c) Possible extra source of employment if conditions such as "Indian drivers only for a certain portion of the route" or "repair garages en route must be manned by Indian mechanics" are put in.

Pakistan "Fumes" As Obama Endorses india's Unilateral Entry In NSG

Obama administration condemned for backing Indian NSG bid
ISLAMABAD (APP): International experts and diplomats have condemned Obama administration for supporting Indian bid ( Obama's parting shot to Pak ?)to become member of Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).Daryl Kimball, Executive Director of Washington D.C. based Arms Control Association (ACA) has condemned the outgoing Obama Administration’s desperate attempts to unilaterally bring India within the NSG.Mr. Kimball stated that “any further country-specific exemptions from NSG guidelines for trade or membership without necessary steps to strengthen non-proliferation and disarmament would increase nuclear dangers in South Asia.” This will “weaken the NSG and broader non-proliferation regime,” Daryl Kimball warned.Earlier, the US, according to various nuclear experts and diplomats, had already created a dangerous and destabilizing precedent by exceptionally supporting Indian NSG waiver in 2008, which allowed New Delhi to rapidly build up its weapon-useable fissile material stocks.
John Carlson from Australia-based `Friends of the Earth’ also criticized India and stated that “at the time when Russia and the US have made substantial cuts on nuclear arsenals, and the international community is calling the other nuclear armed countries to join in arms reductions and advance the cause of nuclear disarmament, India is clearly intent on building up its arsenal and is expecting fissile material production for this purpose.
“This suggests India could be considering a two or three fold increase in its nuclear arsenal. And India has ambitious plans for nuclear armed submarines”, he added.
Kamran Akhtar Pakistan’s Director General – Arms Control and Disarmament at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs talking to APP endorsed the concerns of the nuclear experts regarding unilateral U.S. support for the Indian entry into NSG and described simultaneous entry of Pakistan and India into NSG as essential for world peace and security.Mr. Akhtar said that the global nuclear order, in view of Pakistani and Indian simultaneous applications, faces a stark and historic choice. If both Pakistan and India become NSG members, it would help normalize the non-proliferation regime, otherwise it would end all hope of a fair and just international nuclear cooperation for peaceful purposes.Already the global nuclear non-proliferation regime is heavily criticized for being discriminatory and having strict considerations for Iran and North Korea while treating India and Israel magnanimously.
Ambassador Ali Sarwar Naqvi, who has served as Pakistan’s permanent representative at the International Atomic Energy Agency, Professor Zafar Iqbal Cheema – President, Strategic Vision Institute and various diplomats have already expressed their deep concern at the US attempt to prop up India against China by exceptionally making New Delhi a member of NSG and ignoring the fact that NewDelhi is testing Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles, which can hit Europe and massively expanding its unsafeguarded fissile material production. They have urged the international community to play their due and active role to ensure that the international nuclear cooperation must remain criteria-based and fair in order to maintain world peace and allow all peace-loving nations to progress and achieve prosperity.
Some other "sore" points , which touches the raw nerves of Pakistan :D :
- India's possible entry in UNSC
- India refusal of "third party intervention" in Indo-Pak dispute
- India's developmental and security role in Afghanistan
- US's so-called "bias" towards India
- Implement Indus Water Treaty provision in favour of India

-President Putin's refusal to visit Pakistan

Top 10 incredibly stupid things Pakistani politicians said in 2016

So, you think only Donald Trump said some pretty weird stuff this year? If so, then it might be time to refresh your memory. Pakistani politicians have said their share of incredibly dumb things in 2016. And interestingly enough, most times, they didn’t even realise it.
Disclaimer: We did NOT make this up.

1. Sindh govt converting province into ‘Kafiristan’

You have to give the devil his due. In a landmark move, Sindh Assembly banned forced conversions of minorities. But, it seems, some people were far from happy.

“Since the assembly has collectively banned religious conversion, it has committed treason with the Quran and Sunnah, and the Constitution. There is no justification for the assembly to stay,” Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-S) leader Maulana Samiul Haq said.

He further added, “It is regrettable that minorities in Pakistan have the right to preach their religion, but a sick secular mentality are interfering in an Islamic country.” He isn’t done yet, people, not by a long shot. “The Sindh government is converting the province into ‘Kafiristan’ with such un-Islamic decisions.”

Oh well, you can’t please everyone.

You can read more about it here: JUI-S chief demands dissolution of Sindh Assembly over forced conversions bill

2. Forget press-ups, PML-N MPs tell cricketers

In a rather bizarre turn of events, two PML-N lawmakers took severe exception to Pakistan cricket team’s choice of post-match celebration, saying the players should offer voluntary prayers instead of doing pushups upon winning.

“What message Pakistani cricketers are trying to give by doing pushups after matches?” MNA Rana Muhammad Afzal asked.

What business it is of his remains a mystery to this day.

You can read more about it here: Forget press-ups, PML-N MPs tell cricketers

And for Misbahul Haq’s defence, go here: Misbahul Haq defends celebratory push-ups

3. Pervaiz Rashid refuses to say Middlesex/Hamfield

Apparently, former information minister Pervaiz Rashid’s wuzoo (ablution) can be broken by merely uttering the names of certain places in England. “I won’t take the name of the area because if a Muslim takes the name, they have to perform wuzoo (ablution),” Rashid said matter-of-factly at a press conference in May.

The intended area, Middlesex or Hamfield, is reportedly where PTI chairman Imran Khan’s children live. The former information minister then urged Khan to name the place. “If Khan Sahib takes its name, even he would have to perform wuzoo again, if he believes in performing it.”

Point-scoring taken to extreme lengths, eh?

You can read more about it here: Pervaiz Rashid refuses to say Middlesex. Here’s why

And if you are interested in other words that could break his wuzoo, go here: 20 names of places that could break Pervez Rasheed’s wuzu

4. Do not to observe Valentine’s Day

Pakistan’s President Mamnoon Hussain took out time from his extremely busy hibernation schedule a day ahead of Valentine’s Day only to urge all Pakistanis to refrain from celebrating the day.

“Valentine’s Day has no connection with our culture and it should be avoided,” he urged.

Interestingly, he said this while speaking at an event to honour the services of Pakistan Movement leader Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar on his death anniversary.

He then made a valiant effort to make some sense of his words, saying that Valentine’s Day was not a part of Muslim tradition but of the West, and so we should maintain our religious and national identity.
Go back to sleep, Mr President.

You can read more about it here: President urges nation not to observe Valentine’s Day

5. Ban Doraemon

Sometimes, politicians can make us doubt their sanity. And this is one of those times.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in August submitted a first of its kind resolution in the Punjab Assembly calling for a ban on famous Japanese anime series Doraemon.

“Pemra should impose a ban on Doraemon or limit its airtime as it contains explicit content which has a bad impact on children,” PTI legislator Malik Taimoor Masood said.

As you can imagine, Twitter had a field day: Why does PTI want Doraemon banned? Pakistanis take a guess

6. Khawaja Asif’s ‘tractor trolley’ comment

“Someone make this tractor trolley keep quiet.”

This infamous remark was made by Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, intended for PTI’s Shireen Mazari, and in the National Assembly. Enough said!

As if the damage hadn’t already been done, Asif took the opportunity to also remark on Mazari’s ‘manly voice’. “It will be better if you first transform your masculine voice into a more feminine one,” he said.

You can read more about it here: Ruckus in NA as defence minister calls Shireen Mazari ‘tractor trolley’

7. Divorce rate linked to gas load-shedding

Of all the reasons for increasing instances of divorce in Pakistan, a PML-N lawmaker hit upon gas load-shedding as the leading cause. It sure defies reason, but Tahira Aurangzeb did have an argument to back her supposition.

“Squabbles have become common as housewives have been unable to cook food or breakfast on time because of excessive gas load-shedding. As a result, men get irritated, tearing couples apart in the long run,” she said.

“The house should be informed who exactly is responsible for the mess [in the family life of consumers].”
Who, indeed?

You can read more about it here: Divorce rate linked to gas load-shedding, MNA claims

8. If you can’t afford pulses, eat chicken: Ishaq Dar

Umm, Mr finance minister, you have heard of Marie Antoinette, haven’t you? Perhaps not, it seems.

Answering criticism on soaring prices of pulses in the National Assembly, Ishaq Dar came up with some strange advice. “If pulses are expensive, then people should eat chicken which is Rs200 per kilo because the government has waived all taxes and duties on poultry products,” he said. Slow-clap

You can read more about it here: If you can’t afford pulses, eat chicken: Dar

9. Husbands be allowed to ‘lightly beat’ defying wives

If we were to hold a competition for most ridiculous suggestion ever, this one would win hands down.

Earlier this year, the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), headed by Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani of JUI-F, proposed its own version of the women protection bill, recommending ‘a light beating’ for the wife if she defies the husband.

According to the council, a husband should be allowed to ‘lightly’ beat his wife if she defies his commands and refuses to dress up as per his desires; turns down demand of intercourse without any religious excuse or does not take bath after intercourse or menstrual periods.

It has also suggested that a beating is permissible if a woman does not observe hijab; interacts with strangers; speaks loud enough that she can easily be heard by strangers; and provides monetary support to people without taking consent of her spouse.

For other such gems, go here: CII proposes husbands be allowed to ‘lightly beat’ defying wives

And here’s a fitting response to the ludicrous suggestion: #TryBeatingMeLightly: Pakistani women react to CII bill with powerful portrait series

10. Sindh sports minister challenges Punjab counterpart to push-up competition

For reals. That right there is the solution to all of Sindh’s sporting woes. Wonder why no one else thought of that before?

“I challenge the sports minister of Punjab to do 50 push-ups, and I’ll do the same. I am a sportsman myself. The players of Sindh aren’t in the spotlight and this is what I aim to change — Even if I have to fight with the federal government,” Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar said.

If you actually want to see him do those ‘pushups’, go here: Sindh sports minister does 50 push-ups, challenges Punjab counterpart

New year resolution: Don’t vote for politicians as silly as the ones mentioned above.

Pindi logic.

India's violation of IWT would set a dangerous precedent: Aizaz
Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said India's violation of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) would set a dangerous precedent for other countries to behave similarly
Which other countries?
"We also believe that it is for the [best for] our two counties to sit at the table and share each other's perspectives,” Chaudhry said.
