"Any aircraft, including planes and drones belonging to the international coalition operating west of the Euphrates river, will be tracked by Russian anti-aircraft forces in the sky and on the ground and treated as targets," the Russian defence ministry said.
Things are heating up. The Russians now just have to shoot down just one US coalition aircraft and MSM will go into overdrive calling for a war with Russia with McCain etc. leading the charge.

SAA & allies launch military operation and begin advance east of Ithriya towards Raqqa province. Masbah point and Talet Abo Zein liberated.
^^^ mostly they will meet no resistance and complete the 40km distance to meet tiger forces fairly easily. any remaining ISIS would have slunk away south by now. here and there a few charasis might have missed the bus and fight. will be useful to push supplies via direct route rather than a loopy loop via aleppo
Since this is the Levant crisis thread...watch this. It is about what happened to the Christians of Lebanon (at least the first part). You will get a feel for the background:
Resafa - Al Qaum - Sukhnah - 80km is the gap between the tiger forces in Resafa and the 5th corps coming up to Sukhnah after clearing out Arak.
2 major roads feeding into this desert area but zoom in closer and you will see a intricate network of vehicle tracks across the desert soil ... probably ISIS convoys and oil convoys moving from the fields to bootleg refineries back east. all the ISIS pouring out of the 40km gap between Ithriyah and Resafa forces will look to use these network either to form new lines of defence or go back east to the river.
ideally dozens of MALE armed drones each with 8 ATGMs could wreak havoc on these areas and keep it under close surveillance but since the russians lack armed drones they will have to depend on satellite photos with quick revisits and the unarmed drones to cue strikes.
Confirms thats the new Zulfiqer Missile one of the newest slim BM tested last year , this thing travelled 700 km all the way to Syria ! Looks in Shourya Class slim and moving control surfaces !
Wasnt this baby travelling against the earth rotation too ?
^^ That sort of Generous AID might be a big sore for Turkey isnt it , What remains to be see is what is being provided unsaid ? $500 million is a big figure and can buy much more
little pooch...Sy AF were attacking SDF when their jet got downed by US? Who will take Raqqa then? What does Assad thinktank want regarding Raqqa, if they consider is their territory does Sy army intend to fight with US backed SDF?? Aren't their hands full already?
Sy AF were attacking SDF when their jet got downed by US?
the su22 was attacking isis at village just north of a road junction called Resafa about 10km south of the SDF line.
the SDF tried to race the SAA for resafa and lost yesterday following which they seem to have backed away again.
they had sat idle in present lines for a month now.
Who will take Raqqa then?
SDF - raqqa is far less economically important than the oil fields between dez to iraqi border. as i mentioned its a bit of monkey trap. but the US does want a city to be capital of whatever bantustan it is planning in east syria. read my article link from jamestown.org above for context

they have no intention or need to fight SDF. but they want a clear route to sukhnah and DEZ without SDF playing spoiler like they tried yesterday. even if resafa had fallen the tigers could have crossed the road south of it and continued on but the intent of the spoiler move was bad in saa eyes - a needless push south to "block" the saa when there is no intention to interfere with sdf in raqqa.
assad has already a agreement in place with the kurds to allow UN aid convoys from the coast -> aleppo -> hasakeh now that turkiye has closed all border crossings into rojava. he has also allowed the kurds to resupply Efrin via a land corridor through manbij. in exchange the kurds let the Govt enclave in Qamishli (near hasakeh) be there under assyrian militias,NDF,repub guard along with its airport which is the vital last stop to feeding men and materials into DEZ via helicopter trips.
whispers in the shadows speak of some of the arab elements of the SDF being closet jihadis who were former AQ/nusra but now 'rehabilitated' and repurposed under 'agencies' to do the work vs ISIS.
a statement by a kurdish / arab 'leader' in the SDF is being seized upon and retweeted around Hemze Hamza

The Afghani & Pakistani Shia thugs that fight on behalf of the Nusayri sect in Syria are infamous for looting in Aleppo.
twitter reports claim 2 aim9x were fired at close range, the first missed and the second hit the engine. the su22 is a big sturdy a/c so he was unharmed and ejected.
the shooter was a navy f18 maybe from jordan land base.

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (12:00 P.M.) – Department of Defence of Australia announced on Tuesday that Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) halts air campaign in Syria.
“As a precaution measure, Australian Armed Forces temporarily halt airstrikes in Syria,” official statement by the DoD says.
It is noteworthy that the statement was made two days after the US-led coalition shot down a Syrian Air Force fighter jet in Raqqa province.
On Monday, Russia halted participation in the Memorandum on incident prevention in Syria.

Wise move. Discretion is better than valor. Russia could decide that it does not want to shoot down a US target because of a direct confrontation with the US and because it wants better relations with France will not want to shoot down a French Air Force/French Navy aircraft. Which leaves the RAAF as a prime target, part of the "coalition" for sending a message. The Aussies have clearly got the message.....

Armed Russian jet 'flies within 5 feet of American plane' over Baltic Sea
US officials call the move 'provocative' and say the Su-27 fighter was flying 'erratically'
the fearsome UR77 explosive cable system again in damascus suburbs. drone footage shows rebels hightailing for the hills the moment the cable snakes out and lands on their lair , then the whole neighbourhood disintegrates
The feku war against ISIS being perpetrated by some western and most Sunni Arab entities speaks volumes for itself.it appears to be a giant conspiracy to have parts of the world in perpetual conflict ,truly Orwellian. This allows war profiteering MNCs to rake in trillions every decade and after destruction -thanks to war, comes "reconstruction",with billions++ again spent in rebuilding shattered nations. Another great spin-off,very lucrative is "refugees".Billions are again spent here too in establishing primitive shelters on remote islands, the equiv of prison ships ( actually a good place to send many of our stone-throwers in J&K apart from croc/shark/snake islands in the A&N region which I strongly recommend)! So its no secret if info surfaces about western,Israeli,Arab support for ISIS,their own creation. meanwhile, the coffers of the poorest nations are systematically emptied by the richest.
The armed pro-regime Shaheed-129 UAV was shot down by a U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle about 12:30 a.m. after it displayed hostile intent and advanced on Coalition forces. This is the second the U.S. shot down an Iranian drone in less than a month.
The coalition presence in Syria addresses the imminent threat ISIS in Syria poses globally. It does not seek to fight Syrian regime, Russian, or pro-regime forces partnered with them, but will not hesitate to defend Coalition or partner forces from any threat. The coalition calls on all parties to focus their efforts on the defeat of ISIS, which is our common enemy and the greatest threat to regional and worldwide peace and security.

Is Aim9x supposed to be with IIR ? quite strange that it would hit the engine when it's TFTA algo is suppose to know it is a jet and hit near the pilot to kill him?
Rather it seems to hit the hottest thing it found in the sky. A flare may have distracted it.

Because twitter gets the most accurate description of real events?
Wait for official confirmation from either CENTCOM, VFA-31, or the Syrian pilot, or a video release. Unless the video is classified it will take some force to keep the squadron from releasing the video in their cruise video or the rhino ball.
The original twitter report (iirc) attributed to a CBS reporter said that it struck the rear of the aircraft. That does not mean that it necessarily struck the engine.
