India will take 'drastic' action against Pakistan, says Union Minister Kiren Rijiju
GUWAHATI: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday said that India will take 'drastic' action against Pakistan as it was crossing the Line of Control (LoC) repeatedly.Rijiju, who was speaking to reporters at the sidelines of a rally here, however, declined to share details.
Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
Given that Pakis maintain less number of posts than us, it is possible lot of the post are either empty or destroyed by us. Morever due to the thick vegetation on the mountains, unless we physically capture the area, it may not be possible to figure out where the post are present. It is also pointless killing their soldiers as PA will never admit it.JTull wrote:Any Pakistani post in the vicinity of infiltration point should be destroyed by direct artillery fire.
So go for 155 mm fire assualt on Batallion/Brigade HQ/Fuel/Ammo dump, declare it a major terrorist camp and have a UAV record it.
Carry out a press conference and show it to the world. Let PA admit it is their HQ, which was attacked.

Army Stops Infiltration Bid In Jammu And Kashmir's Gurez, 1 Terrorist Killed
Srinagar: The Army today killed a terrorist as it prevented an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Gurez sector of Bandipora district in north Kashmir.
Troops guarding the Line of Control spotted terrorists trying to sneak into the valley from across the border and exchanged fire with them, during which a terrorist was killed, an army official said.
14 terrorists have been killed in encounters along the Line of Control in north Kashmir in the last four days.
An Army jawan also lost his life in one of the encounters.
A defence spokesman on Thursday said multiple attempts made by Pakistan army to push armed infiltrators across the Line of Control were foiled by the troops at Machhil and Naugam sectors in Kupwara district, Gurez in Bandipora district and Uri in Baramulla, resulting in the killing of seven terrorists.
All the four infiltration bids were aided by the Pakistani forces who provided active support, including cover fire using heavy calibre artillery, the Army's Northern Command had said in a statement.
With the killing of six terrorists in Uri sector yesterday and one in Gurez today, the Army has foiled eight infiltration attempts in less than a fortnight in north Kashmir.
Three of the attempts were scuttled in Uri sector alone.
On May 26, the Army killed two Pakistani Border Action Team (BAT) members who tried to infiltrate into Uri sector in Baramulla district to carry out an attack on the soldiers.
Six more terrorists were killed in the same sector the next day when they attempted to sneak into the valley from across the border.
This year, the Army has stopped 24 infiltration attempts and killed 41 armed intruders along the Line of Control.

41 kills in 5.5 months, of which 14 kills in just the last 4 days!
Pukis are brown-shalwaring due to the post-destruction and are trying to amp it up. Hope the posts that aid infiltration are also destroyed systematically

Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
Time to cross LoC and draw new one every time infiltration happens. Let's see if they have balls to take it back from what belongs to us. It's time for offensive defence. LoC moves few meters after every attempt and that should be the bottom line..

It appears that IA razed NINE Paki posts to dust opposite Krishna Ghati and Nowshera sectors.

India’s another offensive on LoC: several Pak posts razed

JAMMU, June 11: India today launched another major offensive against Pakistan after latter’s army targeted defence locations and civilian areas along Line of Control (LoC) in three sectors in twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri and also activated International Border in Ramgarh sector of Samba district. At least nine posts and bunkers of Pakistan army have been destroyed opposite Krishna Ghati and Nowshera sectors in retaliatory fire by the troops while Pakistan claimed civilian casualties on their side.
..
“The Pakistani posts, damaged during retaliatory firing, were trying to target civilian population on the Indian side using heavy 82mm and 120mm mortar shells and automatic weapons,” they said, adding destruction of Pakistani posts led to halt on shelling and firing in most of the forward areas on LoC except Nowshera sector, where it continued till late tonight.
Nearly 30 forward villages and large number of Army posts came under intense shelling from Pakistan in Krishna Ghati sector last night and Bhimber Gali and Nowshera sectors during the day today. Shelling in Nowshera sector stopped at 2.30 pm but resumed again at 6.40 pm.
...
Pakistani Rangers fired few rounds targeting forward posts of the BSF in Ramgarh sector at 10 am today. The BSF retaliated, leading to exchanges that continued for 45 minutes. However, there were no casualties or damage on the Indian side, they added.
Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
Bakis saying 832 killed and 3000 injured by Indian firing . But no timeline
Unprovoked firing by Indian forces across the Line of Control (LoC) has taken 832 lives lives while 3,000 have been injured and 3,300 houses been damaged, the director general (DG) of the Disaster Management Authority (DMA) informed the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Kashmir Affairs Monday.
Presided over by PML-N MNA Khalil George, the standing committee had discussed Indian ceasefire violations on the LoC.
DMA DG Zaheeruddin Qureshi informed the committee that about 425,000 civilians residing in areas around the LoC were under threat because of Indian firing.
Incidences of firing have so far caused 832 deaths while 3,000 people have been injured. 3,300 houses have also been damaged as a result, Qureshi said.

Incident happened in the Karmara area of Poonch. It seems it was a day time incident.
We lost two soldiers and two were injured. The other side seems to have lost two too. Apparently one of their bodies is visible.
This report says the Indian Army "decimated their four posts from where the BAT members had been launched into the Indian side to carry out the attack"

The Indian Army got the body of one of the BAT member who was killed
1. He had a head worn video camera
2. The BAT fought like a conventional trained force
3. His comrades tried to ensure no body or injured was left behind
4. He had a small sword
I hope the upcoming visit of the PM to USA does not slow any fully deserved retaliation

Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
Once the paki posts are destroyed, what is the risk in hot pursuit? maybe their radios can be jammed and you have probably 5km of ground to intercept them. maybe amreeki radios
The news articles seem to suggest that terrorists do not even retaliate that this team chose to do so tells its composition, so but for such exceptions, other foiled infiltration bids can be pursued to some depth. Your artillery depth is expected at 15km atleast.

Karnataka: Mock security drill at Karwar naval base triggers panic - TNIE
KARWAR: The INS Kadamba Naval Base in Karwar was put on high alert on Thursday after suspected entry of three people from an undisclosed location. The entry of three unidentified men was recorded in CCTV cameras installed along the compound wall and it was not clear whether the trio were fishermen or suspected terrorists. The district police too were informed but it turned out to be a mock drill.
Karwar police had even set up check posts in front of the base’s gates and at main junctions throughout the national highway-66. Police conducted thorough checking of vehicles on the highway.
Police said: “As per the information, three unidentified people tresspassed into the naval base from Mudaga village side on Thursday morning. After the CCTV footage was examined, the naval base personnel started an internal search operation within the base.”
Thankfully, all these precautions were part of a mock drill that was conducted in the naval base. This, however, created panic among locals who thought terrorists have sneaked inside the base.
As the news spread in Karwar, rumour mongers had their time stating that three terrorists had gained entry inside the naval base.
Photos of police in action were circulated on social media. This made many television channels breaking news, including the information that the naval base was under attack.
However on Thursday evening, the Navy and Police clarified that it was just a mock drill and there was nothing to worry.
Officials from the Indian Navy said as part of the mock exercise, the area was searched to ensure there is no unauthorised person hiding in the area. Since the area is a jungle, for the first time, dog squad of the state police was utilised in the search. The exercise was called off, after a thorough search, in the evening.
“It is our routine exercise and it takes place regularly at our base. This time we have included state police for the exercise. Police department cooperated with our naval staff very nicely and they actively participated in the exercise.”
INS Kadamba is an important naval base of the Indian Navy, and also home for country’s largest aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya. Currently INS Vikramaditya has been docked at the Karwar base along with other warships. And also the naval base is a prohibited area as declared by the Karnataka government.

I agree rather than us Physically been able to a hot persuit, either Helicopter launched rockets or anti tank missile etc we should be able inflict ccausualties on these BAT teams on thier side of LOC. the Paki side 3-5 KM of LOC should be our hunting zone.

Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
Israel uses powerful weapons locating radar as well as fixed towers with radars which could detect anything which is walking, crawling or animal. Now I believe that since it is mountainous terrain it may not be as successful here. Although they can invest in ground sensors and use it on the ground to test it and send if it is effective. They have to try various methods including guerilla attack like hunting the hunters..chops the hunters and sprinkle the remains on Himalayan mountains for leopards to be fed..

Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
artillery duels while raging the paki posts to rubble take much longer and the time window for hot pursuit closes and again use of artillery is to still be within the 'level playing field' as the other side also has artillery. Dhruv WSI with CLGM is probably the closest we can get in meeting the standards of Salala incident at this point of time. one would prefer that lasing by choppers/drones with the CLGM fired from ground vehicles to increase the standoff range if manpads/snipers are expected to be a counter to the choppers.

China Refuses Entry To Kailash Mansarovar Yatris After ‘Border Skirmish’
According to sources, the situation in Nathu-la evolved after an incident of skirmish at Dokala area of Sikkim. The sources said Chinese PLA troops destroyed a newly repaired bunker of India around 10 days ago. This has led to a tense border situation between the two sides. A recent flag meeting also failed to resolve the situation.
