PMLN says Nawaz Sharif ‘punished’ over CPEC
Kanspeerashy claims by blithering, blabbering idiots!
PMLN stalwart Khawaja Saad Rafique on Friday said disqualification of Nawaz Sharif was an international conspiracy and Imran Khan was nothing more than a pawn
Nawaz Sharif was ousted in 1999 for carrying out nuclear tests and today he was punished over China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
"We are punished if we do not make compromises on Pakistan's sovereignty (hain??!!) while making decisions relating to crises in Yemen and Qatar. Documents are sent from abroad, and our voice is not heeded" Not sure what this incoherent rant means but, oh well...they are pakis
We don't even complain of the wounds that are inflicted upon our bodies and souls (WTF?!)
the Supreme Court didn’t admit petitioners’ allegations against Nawaz Sharif (wha...?)
the requisites of not justice were not fulfilled in the ruling (
Anyway. Bakistan has maintained it untarnished, 70-year old pristine image of never having a PM complete five years in office, unmolested! AoA.

Pakistan abducts own citizens, muzzles rights watchdog - U.N.
Pakistan must address a catalogue of human rights failings including state-sponsored abductions and a death penalty that amounts to torture, but its national watchdog is muzzled, the U.N. Human Rights Committee said on Thursday.
Human Rights Minister Kamran Michael defended Pakistan's record before the committee earlier this month, but members of the committee said his delegation had given few responses to their questions and very general answers.
They were also concerned at a no-show by the chairman of Pakistan's National Commission for Human Rights, who was allegedly barred from travelling to Geneva to meet them and was not able to probe wrongdoing, they said.
At the top of a long list of human rights concerns were Pakistan's renewed use of the death penalty, its blasphemy laws, and "enforced disappearances" and extrajudicial killings.
A high number of people were allegedly in secret detention in military internment centres, the committee's report said. Killings were allegedly perpetrated by the police, military and security forces but there was no law explicitly against such practices.
The committee also lambasted Pakistan's widespread use of hanging since it lifted a moratorium on the death penalty in 2014
Death sentences were passed on mentally disabled people and suspects who were minors at the time of the crime, and the method of execution amounted to torture.
"There have been reports of botched executions, failed executions, with grave consequences on physical integrity"
All in all, fairly normal for a malsic nation.

Contradictory claims.
Indigenously built Fast Attack Craft (missile) PNS Himmat commissioned in Pakistan Navy
Chief of the Naval Staff said it is a landmark occasion when 2nd indigenously constructed Fast Attack Craft (Missile) is being inducted in Pakistan Navy Fleet.
successful construction of PNS Himmat at Karachi Shipyard is a proud moment for Pakistan Navy, KS&EW and China State Shipbuilding and Offshore Company
MD KS&EW Rear Admiral Syed Hasan Nasir Shah, in his welcome address said that this state of the art ship is another landmark in the history of Pak-China cooperation in the field of defence production, as it has been built in collaboration with our Chinese friends M/s China Shipbuilding & Offshore Company (CSOC) and Xingang Shipyard.
Which is it?

My two cents with NS departure, it has to do with two main things :

Let civilian control losen (They are not dependable), so not to let him finish full term although only year left. PPP had completed their full term for the first time.

Mushy's trial, since NS was trying to seek his revenge with him using SC, Afwaz was not letting get their guy and they did mini coup in SC itself.

Now Mushy would be let go, and that is the condition for the new interim PM to function successfully. Secondly Captain would be stooge that will be next PM that would do their bidding against india and a'stan

Maybe the Fauj wants a re-negotiation of CPEC projects with China. There is a lot of rona-dhona on Paki TV channels and the reality of the debt trap is dawning on them.

With Nawaz being booted out, the new guy can suspend CPEC pending a thorough review (all done in a hush hush mode to keep the facade of Pak-Cheeni dosti alive).
But I get the feeling that Pakistan is having very serious doubts about CPEC internally, and booting NS out is partly a manifestation of it.

This Bangladesh "Analist" Spins Out Some Very Weird Conspiracy Theory :D

The dangerous US-Saudi attempt of regime change in Pakistan
Pakistan witnesses the largest political crisis in recent years. Leaders of the main opposition parties called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down because of the corruption charges brought against him by the investigation team formed by the country's Supreme Court. Increasing instability in the only Muslim country that possesses nuclear weapons raises fears of experts. The crisis began with the publication of the famous Panama Papers in April 2016. Among the published documents, there was also compromising evidence on the family of the Pakistani prime minister. According to them, the children of Sharif allegedly related to offshore companies Nescoll Limited, Nielson Holdings Limited, Coomber Group Inc., and Hangon Property Holdings Limited. From 2006 to 2007, these firms were engaged in buying up elite housing in London for a total of up to 13.8 million dollars.
The political scientist from Bangladesh Ahmed Rajeev shared his view on the origins and prospects of political crisis:
6th April 2016, Wikileaks revealed that Panama Papers leak was funded by USAID and George Soros’s Open Society Foundation. Many analysts agreed that the US government is pursuing a worldwide destabilization policy, and the particular Panama papers leak has been serving the purpose of destabilization since the country has been losing her liberal imperial adventures and now wants all the dollars back into her vault in the coming period of great financial crisis. Therefore, the Panama papers leak is not trustworthy at all. It serves primarily the US interest. Moreover, Pakistan’s main opposition leader Imran Khan is acting as political puppet of the US. He and his party are following the so called Panama paper leaks to mobilize people against the prime minister undermining the negative consequences.
On July 7th 2017, the former Pakistani army chief retired Gen Raheel Sharif, the head of the Saudi-led Islamic Military Alliance to Fight Terrorism came from Saudi Arabia by a special plane. Local media reported that some Saudi nationals accompanied Gen Sharif who reportedly left for his residence from Lahore airport’s old terminal while the Saudis moved to a local hotel. His surprising come back coincided with the timing of corruption probe against Nawaz Sharif. Therefore, a ground breaking role can be speculated from the ex-army chief. On the other hand, the US is not willing to pull off so easily from the only Muslim country that has nuclear bombs. It is also true that regarding Pakistan, the US and Saudi Arabia both have similar aim of controlled destabilization in the region for gaining geostrategic upper hand in dealing Russia, China, India, Central Asia and Iran. Therefore, the opposition leader Imran Khan and Gen Raheel Sharif both have the same aim of regime change. I assume they are working together. So, according to this theory, Raheel is a Saudi Agent and so Imran is aiding and abetting US interest !
It is also well known fact that Pakistan was supported heavily for a very long period of time on the military ground by the US for implementing the US favored geopolitical and geostrategic policy in the Af-Pak region and to increase influence in Central Asia, Iran and India aimed at containing Russia and China. But the current government under Nawaz Sharif appeared as an obstacle to implement such western project since he has given more importance to China-Pakistan relationship and Russia-Pakistan relationship than that of US-Pakistan. Subsequently, the US policy makers are very possibly seeking regime change in Pakistan to destabilize the country in order to disrupt the CPEC project and the Russia-Pakistan rapprochement under the double containment or neo-containment policy. Quite a "fertile imagination" this analist has !
The current political tension of Pakistan will be raised more. Already, Nawaz Sharif said that he would not step down. Therefore, there is a high chance of high-conflict oriented political and security instability inside Pakistan. Such security chaos also has the potential to turn into regional chaos if any external force supports to expand the radical extremism as a proxy force as we have observed in Syria and Iraq and several other places of Middle East crisis. Since Pakistan has nuclear arsenals, the proxy war will be very risky for the South Asian region. Terrorists will seek to use those weapons against adversaries to create a long lasting fear of nuclear massacre. It should be mentioned that this farticle was penned before the Supreme Court judgement came out against Ganja

If Cheeni are little smart, they would have realized by now the mental and political instability of Paki and made deal with India by giving all the concessions. Paki have been very quiet in India China stand off in Doklam which seems strange and uncharacteristic of them.

It looks to me that the ouster and lifetime ban of Nawaz Sharif is like the flimsy charge on which Zia hanged ZAB.

The UAE 'offshore' ownership is said to have been the reason, not the evidence gathered in the 13 original questions posed to the JIT by the SC after the Panama leaks.

Not that I grieve for either ZAB or NS.

Pakis are shocked and very saddened by their master Cheen's loss of face in Doklam.
This does not bode well for their own crisis situation with dushman mulq India.
Their economy is in dire straits, their foreign diplomacy is at an all time low, their 3.5+0.5 friends have mostly deserted them (with the exception of Cheen and CONgress-I)

These are not fun days to be a geopoliticomilitary strategist in Pakistan, their favourite passtime.

Maybe Shabaz sharif will help a little bit with the Echendee issues, being younger and more presentable, but they will probably like the false pashtoon-400% pakjabi TFTA Niazi Saab (aka Kaptaan, Imran & other titles)

Come to think of it, Raheel probably brought the message from KSA, while McCain (representative of the deep state) probably signed off on this.

The next guy in the chair will be expected to do a better job wrt:
1. Preserve echendee, via hostility towards dushman mulq India
2. Present Pakistan's case better and more forcefully internationally, via talking with aakhon me aankh daal ke (talking eye to eye ie getting phull respect) with furriners and 3.5+0.5 masters. In other words, present Pakistan's love for terrorism as a basic human right of theirs, using silly arguments conjured up from their musharraf and leave the opponent dazed and confused!
3. Do something about the economy, via more contracts to fauji foundations, bigger % of the loot to the crore commanders. Nawaz was hated, because he was so damn stingy with sharing the ill gotten gains - Nawaz had tigers & cheetahs in Raiwind, while the Crore kammandus only had pomerarian doggies in their houses, and this a nation that luvvs animal husbandry. (Folks remember Mushy had a brown Pomerarian dog, while nawaz had a babbar sher - Bleddy civ-lians can't have a bigger pet than the COAS. Nawaz's bibi probably taunted Mushy's bibi over this. That probably was the root cause of this 7 generations hostility between these 2 families)

Paki elite are simple minded, they want equitable distribution of the loot at the top. Admittedly they are all parasites on the Pak Nation

My suspicion is that Cheen's sheen has been dented irrevocably in Pakistan. Cheen is seen as being caught in a bind wrt India. Here the Pakis were expecting the cheeni flotilla, swarms of fighter planes and mijjiles to descend upon dushman mulq Hindoostan everytime there was an echendee loss or a sleight felt in Pindi. But what do they see instead, hain ji !!!
Cheen is calling India an aggressor !!!!!
Terrible !!! Calamity !!!! :(( !!!

There won't be one, precisely because of Shri Kerry and Shri Lugar.

NS's departure is just distraction to us. Unless we can somehow bundle him out via India (and gleefully announce that to the world), his situation is inconsequential, and so is the the current power play in Pak. India policy will always be run by the deep state/ISI/military; the world knows it but at the end of the day it's only our problem to solve/deal with.

One "Sheriff" goes out another comes in...! Rotating sheriffs what? The Paki courts can still keep disqualifying one "sheriff" after another, which will make a farce of Paki mobocracy, but great entertainment for the globe.Do you think that the deposed "sheriff" could be in the running for a "Golden Globe" award? :rotfl:

One wishes one of our satirists puts on a play on the same theme. It will make ribsplitting entertainment.
Suggestion. In the case of Pak,etc.,g;the "deep state" should instead be termed the "dark state",as their intentions and deeds are evil.

^^^^ nobody cares around the world

Unless it's nuclear sabre-rattling, or outright war, or humanitarian disaster or large (>50ppl) terrorist bombing, Pakistan isn't going to be anyone's worry, except ours. Semi-stable is as good as it gets, with army, judicial system or otherwise, in Pakistan. Especially so when you have Maduro and Fat Boy Kim showing their acts to the world and getting their attention.

Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - June 20, 2017

Post by Peregrine »

India keeps close watch as verdict on Nawaz Sharif puts Pakistan in a flux

NEW DELHI: The ouster of Nawaz Sharif in Pakistan and its after-effects are being closely watched in India as New Delhi keeps an eye on who will succeed him and the possibility of heightened adventurism by the Pakistani military.

The government has stayed silent, refraining from even categorising this as an "internal matter", which is a stock response by the foreign ministry, but the unseating of the Pakistani leader is not a surprise to South Block.

The possibility of political instability deepening in Pakistan cannot be ruled out and, if that happens, India will take on a more defensive posture.

Pakistan watchers point to a long history of Pakistan's security-intelligence complex using terror to ratchet up tensions and then emphasise the Indian threat — and their own indispensability.

They have played this game for a long time. This time, though, India's responses may be far tougher. In addition, Pakistan-US ties are coming under strain+ with Washington now building a case against Islamabad's collusion with terror groups.

Though China is a tested ally and Russia a budding friend, it's not yet clear how far they will cover for Pakistan. Nawaz's choice as successor — daughter Maryam, or brother Shahbaz — would not be able to take over until they are made members of the National Assembly.

As Pakistani commentators say, there are very few "sadiq" or "ameen" (honest and upright) leaders the ruling party can turn to with national elections due in 10 months. The party could split and leaders gravitate to Imran Khan's PTI or Bilawal Bhutto's PPP, or as former home minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has been signalling, a rival power centre could come up or another party even.

For PM Narendra Modi, Sharif was once a promise that ceased after Pathankot and Uri terror attacks. India's Pakistan policy now is best described as benign neglect, officially accompanied by a tougher line on Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.

To that extent, who takes Sharif's place is less relevant to India. Pakistan's economy is more or less in the same place as it was in 2013 when Sharif was elected. He tried to do more on infrastructure, and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was started on his watch. Nevertheless, economic management was sorely inadequate.

Pakistan's continuing problems with terrorism didn't change, particularly with regard to India. Sharif may have wanted to open up to India but he did nothing to curb terror against India.

So, the question is asked once again: whether India will now deal with the Pakistan army instead of the civilian leadership? First, that is a way away, because the quality of interactions between India and Pakistan are negligible at present.

Second, India has a long history of dealing with the party or person in power, as does China. That is unlikely to change. Third, and possibly the most important, the Pakistan army does not want to be India's direct interlocutor.

Also, in this current crisis certainly, and in the past few years, the army has preferred to pull the strings from the background, leaving the politicians to be the facade. That is unlikely to change either.

Cheers Image

IMO the New Sherriff ( who has tackled cancer head on and has won !) is better than the Old Badmash, who had "sucked" the nation dry ! For one the younger brother is "good looking", and a bit of a "showbaaz" if reports are to be believed ! The older Ganja still leans on him for "intellectual fodder" (correcting his -Ganja's - English,-[ remember the China speech?] western mannerisms, how to behave in phoren capitals etc etc). Secondly, he scrupulously follows Islamic Laws onlee when it comes to personal matters like marriage etc . He already has two misses locked behind closed doors. . And, again if La-Whori gossipers are to be believed, is a roving Romeo , who is always looking for fresh, young flesh for future adventures. A couple of years ago, he "fell in love"- on first sight - with Police Sub Inspector's wife !

How the Panama Papers Changed Pakistani Politics https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/28/worl ... harif.html
was it Panama paper he was sentenced on..it seems West media got it wrong, case started off for Panama but he was punished for not disclosing details of UAE asset immediately endorsed by EC.
For Panama he still has to stand trial.

Kammandu Mushy In High Gear Now :D

Social media erupts at Musharraf for congratulating SC bench on 'brave' Nawaz ouster
Retired Gen Pervez Musharraf on Friday posted a video message to the Twitter account of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), hailing the Supreme Court's disqualification of Nawaz Sharif as a "historic decision"."Today is a historic and important day for Pakistanis," he said in a recorded video, in which he also briefly summarised the decision of the apex court bench. So, this "historic decision" has now cured his back ache , heart problems and he is ready to return to Pakiland ASAP
"I want to heartily congratulate the Supreme Court bench especially because it is a brave decision which is in accordance with the principles of justice and fairness." He added that he wants to also congratulate the entire Supreme Court in general."Especially all members of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) who bravely presented such a good investigation report to the SC bench despite all threats."Musharraf also said: "I fully support this decision of disqualifying Nawaz Sharif as it is a very good one." "Paki Justice" will now do a "360" and ensure that Nawaz's vast properties will be "confiscated" and Mush's properties will be de- confiscated !
.
He welcomed the court's order to open corruption references against other members of the Sharif family."Their trial should begin and they should be tried and punished according to the law," he said in the video, which appears to have been recorded in Dubai. "I want to add that since they are under trial they should be on the Exit Control List (ECL) and not allowed to travel abroad." He wants "revenge" !
"The decision also makes me think of what happened with me. In 2008, when I resigned the PPP and Asif Ali Zardari came to power. Then in 2013, Nawaz Sharif came into power... I was disappointed and used to ask God why lies are winning and honesty is losing. But today there is victory." So, Mush is a believer in the concept of schandenfreude
Speaking to DawnNews, Musharraf credited Imran Khan for "waging a battle without wavering from his path", and congratulated him on the SC's decision.
Musharraf is facing a treason trial for clamping emergency in the country on Nov 3, 2007, and was barred from travelling abroad after his name was placed on the ECL on Apr 5, 2013. He left the country after the Supreme Court upheld the Sindh High Court directions to remove his name from the ECL. Missing Pakiland, where he thinks himself as a "hero" . And all the "attention" he craves from his "many admirers" . Oversees, he remains a "zero"
Twitter users expressed anger on the microblogging site on Friday, as former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf posted a video message hailing the Supreme Court's decision. Rightly so !
Not directly related to pakhaanistan but in a way, it does. Because, that's how "land grab" is done in real-politik. Chinis show the way.

China signs long delayed $1.5 billion port deal with Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka's government on Saturday signed a long-delayed agreement to sell a 70-percent stake in a $1.5 billion port to China in a bid to recover from the heavy burden of repaying a Chinese loan obtained to build the facility.
The document was signed between the government-run Sri Lanka Ports Authority and the state-run China Merchants Port Holding Co. in the capital Colombo
So, chini money lenders lent non-cash money to oblivious lankan bhikaris to allow the chinis to build the lankans a non-viable port knowing that the lankawasis will never be able to repay the interest, forget the loan. When defaulted, the chinis swapped their debt to equity and now own 70% of the port. In effect, chinis paid themselves (port built with chini material and labor) to take ownership of the debtors' collateralized asset, the port! And I always thought that the average lankans were smarter than the average pakis. This "rinse, wash, dry and repeat" show coming to a port near eyeran.

Well played, chini bilathers from another malathers, well played. I blame India's political and business elite for this fiasco.

Not as simple as it sounds to make that statement. Not the thread to discuss this is detail but we can take it to another appropriate one.

Regarding US senator John McCaine's recommendation to get tough on TSP, some words of caution. Firstly, poor guy, he has some seriously health issue, but nevertheless, I must point out he is as white Christian nationalist as they come. Just recently, TSP was quoting him for something he said that they liked, but now it appears he changed track. But read carefully. From one of the reports I read

The move is also aimed towards advance regional cooperation on issues such as border security, intelligence sharing, counter-narcotics, transportation, and trade to reduce mistrust and build confidence among regional states.
This is the dead give away. So basically, he is still advocating what some Paki pervert and another US honcho under Obama said recently in the NYT (which Fair didi demolished in her own pugnacious style), namely, poor TSP's "regional compulsions" must be taken into account for its blood thirst in killing mostly Indians and Afghans, and some white boys. And you know what "regional compulsions" mean. So McCaine is just re-wording that squalid demand by TSP and its advocates in US.

If you further parse his observations, its very clear as has always been the case with him, he is at best condescending towards India, he does not even refer to India as a 'regional power' whose interests when it comes to terror are as sacrosanct as US and its lackeys. So bottom line, its good he is advocating some tough measures against TSP, but from India's PoV, tread carefully.

An (Unconvincing ) Case For More Pakistaniyat

It’s time we import a touch of patriotism
Talha bin Hamid ( Desi Paki posing as an"Fake Arab" )
Let’s start with a few facts.

Pakistan is the fourth largest milk producer in the world, and second only to India in buffalo milk production. In fact, only China, India and the US produce more milk. We are the fifth largest sugarcane producer at 63,800 thousand metric tonnes (TMT). At 26 million metric tonnes, our wheat production is the eighth highest in the world. We produce three percent of the beef supply of the world and stand at ninth position. We are the fourth largest cotton producer and our cotton production is about one third that of India, the top country, despite being about one-seventh on size. Pakistan holds one of the largest copper deposits in the world. Not to mention, that we are the sixth most populated country in the world, about to overtake Brazil for the fifth position. Not to mention # 1 in I.T. (The other kind )
Nevertheless, we prefer our stuff ‘imported’.Imported copper wire. Imported cereal. Imported toothbrush filaments. Imported shampoos.
( Also Saudi dates. "Mecca Compass" Made In China)
Oh, scoffing at locals and locally made products is our national hobby. For years we have been ridiculing our neighbours for the ‘Shining India’ branding. When our government tout its achievements and some positive developments, our social media warriors spare no effort in discrediting it on a global scale: it is almost as if any positive development in Pakistan is only acceptable if our leader of choice is responsible for it. By extension, a Pakistan ruled by people we don’t worship blindly, isn’t worth existing. Harsh but true. One of the "nuclear scientists did not "ridicule" the "water run car" "invented" by a young, Paki
We have an inherent distrust of anything locally sourced – from biscuits and sweets to cloth, to locally-assembled cars. I too am guilty of advising others to buy an imported vehicle. ( as opposed to a one made in a local karkhana  )
So we shouldn’t be surprised that no advertiser likes to market a ‘made in Pakistan’ product. Whereas in other countries locally produced goods are highlighted, in Pakistan the ‘imported’ label is used to entice buyers. Our supermarket chains highlight imported goods separately. Our automotive manufacturers make sure that the vehicles they import from Thailand are labelled correctly. One fast food chain prides itself on having everything from its beef patties ( the scarce of donkey gosht driving away local demand ? ) to its french fries imported from abroad.
It is not that simple though. All the other countries I mentioned, such as China, India and the US have a huge research and development infrastructure. They are able to develop and produce most of their products at home. ( But does not Pakistan have a thriving arms industry . Just the other day, much fanfare was made in an announcement selling military airplane to Azerbaijan !)
Our business community bemoans government regulation and competition from China as factors impeding their growth. Yet, they hide the fact that they consider expenditure on R&D and training a waste. You just have to spend a few minutes in the offices of any local company to realise that. Pakistan has a "well deserved" reputation of import, assemble , paint , market and sell products and label them "Made In Pakistan"
Accordingly, we have become a nation of commodity producers and value added goods importers. We can produce bumper wheat crops, yet rely on foreign research to do it more efficiently. We produce huge amounts of cotton, yet have to send the fabric abroad or import the machinery to treat and finish it in order to compete internationally. Our milk is treated with imported machinery and chemicals. Accounting software, report templates, selling techniques, CV formats; we even importing our expertise from abroad rather than brainstorm locally. You had 70 years to acquire local skills and knowledge . You relied on your 3.5 friends to provide you with these "essentials". No use "crying now" !
We no longer make: we derive, appropriate and repurpose. Buzz words! Basically you beg, borrow or even steal ( re Atom Bum !)
An interesting observation is what do Pakistani expats buy when they come here? For one, they do grand weddings. They buy designer suits. They hoard masalas. They even take home tinned and packed restaurant food. (custom declaration?) And they buy tons and tons of biscuits and cookies, confectionery, toffees, snacks – your Hilal Pan Pasand, your Top Pops, your Slims, your Nan Khatais. According to them, our indigenous biscuits and candies are the best. And remember, they have virtually the entire world’s produce at their disposal. Hope pure and halal ingredients go in their making and not adulterated and non-halal !
Research. Experiments. Continuous improvement. Proudly sourcing, producing and manufacturing the products within our own country, down to the branding, packaging and ad campaigns. Instead of importing our bed linen from abroad, we should import their attitude, desire to improve and above all, the love for their own country. No "harm" in dreaming big

Nawaz says disqualified for not taking salary from son's company
A day after Supreme Court disqualified him from holding public office, Nawaz Sharif has said his conscience was clear and felt proud that he was not removed over ‘corruption’.
“You should be proud that your leader doesn’t have a stain of corruption on him”
The former premier claimed he did not receive any kickbacks or commissions and never compromised on principles.
“I have been disqualified for not withdrawing salary from my own son’s company,” he said.
Nawaz also asked his political rivals to reveal their assets and sources of income.

Paki Political Turmoil Analyzed

Ordering a turmoil
Ayesha Siddiqa - Indian Express
Pakistan repeats history of not letting governments or prime ministers complete their term. This time around it was done through invoking the People’s Representation Act, 1976 that punishes for non-disclosure of assets and doesn’t allow a prime minister to hold an office of profit while he is the head of government. In Nawaz Sharif’s case, he had a work permit of a company registered in the UAE.
However, the story doesn’t end here. The five-judge bench of the Supreme Court have also sent all cases against Sharif’s corruption to the country’s primary anti-corruption body, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) where investigations will be conducted against Sharif and his entire family including his daughter and political heir, Maryam Nawaz and Sharif’s finance minister, Ishaq Dar, who also happens to be the father-in-law of Sharif’s other daughter. The NAB has been instructed to conduct an inquiry through a Joint Investigation Team (JIT). It is possible that the new JIT will also have the same composition as the earlier one which means officials from NAB, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), ISI and MI. So a second JIT is going to dig deeper and rope in other culprits as the master mind Money Launderer Ishaq Dar !
Clearly, the implications for Sharif and Pakistan range from short to longer-term. Shahbaz Sharif, Nawaz’s brother, is the new prime minister. But there are longer-term implications for Nawaz Sharif as this time non-parliamentary and non-elected institutions of the state are determined to end his political legacy by ensuring that his daughter Maryam Nawaz cannot enter politics in future, and possibly drag the family from riches to rags. According to the grapevine, the NAB has made informal estimates of Sharif’s assets to be in billions of US dollars. The Supreme Court has already ordered NAB to investigate Sharif and his children’s assets inside and outside the country. Corruption investigations are complicated and difficult. Given the media trial that is likely to accompany the investigation, the aim will be to totally decimate Nawaz Sharif to a point he totally surrenders. There is little possibility that Sharif, who has health issues as well, would be able to start a political career again or pass on the mantle to his progeny. Stripped of his wealth he may not even be able to invest in his grandchildren that would give hope to his supporters like the small trader from Lahore whose abrupt comment on the decision was “Nawaz ko hakoomat sey tu nikaal diya, dil sey kaisey nikalo gey” (you have kicked Nawaz from the government but how will you take him out of our hearts) But the Sindhis,Balochis and the Pathans suspected (rightly ) that he was pushing a Pakjabi Agenda from which they were being excluded !
Indeed, there are many who were not entirely unhappy with Sharif and were ready to vote him into power a fourth time in 2018. But it is not sure that the election will be conducted next year according to schedule. Given the ongoing investigation and many other issues, there is a possibility that elections might get delayed and the country run through an interim setup that may be there for longer than the stipulated three months. The delimitation of constituencies on the basis of the recently completed census that is not entirely beyond controversy will be one of the reasons for a possible delay. The formula for a national government that may be empowered to carry out certain reforms is much talked about. Whatever the end goal of such a structure, it will certainly be a method to discipline the political system of the state and bring it in line with the overall expectations and narrative of the non-parliamentary elements. Although the more popular narrative in the country at the moment is that a new map is being drawn to eliminate corruption, it is questionable if the process would not be selective. In any case, the national accountability ordinance excludes the judiciary and military from this process. Doubtful if the elections will be on time !
Not that it is easy to absolve Sharif from his sin of amassing unaccounted for wealth. However, his departure is likely to be a great setback in terms of even marginal chances of peace and stability in the South Asian region. There is very little likelihood of an interim government being in full control of foreign policy or taking any peace initiative vis-à-vis its neighbours or certain other critical powers like the US. While many believe that Sharif put his eggs in the wrong basket by hoping that China would protect him since he made great achievement in pushing for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the fact is that Sharif was immaterial to developments vis-à-vis Beijing. Pakistan is now back to its traditional policy framework. The only question that remains is when will a next government get elected and if Imran Khan gets a chance to be in office. The Chinese could not help him to remain PM; his Arab friends ( UAE, Qatar and Saudia ) did not come to his rescue, the Amreekis did not care ) He was friendless !. Imran, itching for power should remain patient a bit longer!

Well, Nawaz was a good guy for India. He just held fort on the jeehaddies and kept weakening Bakistan's economic supports.

The fauj obviously have other plans and this removal drama is due to Kurry-Langoor CYA in action.

Whoever becomes the next Prime-Musical chair occupant will probably be worse off for India that Mr. Dehatti Aurat.

BTW: Any news on the preliminary census report?

Pakistan's Ruling Party To Appoint Sharif Loyalist K. Abbassi As Interim Leader .

Ousted Pakistani PM nominates brother to take over after interim leader
Reuters .
A day earlier a senior Sharif ally hinted that elements of the military were involved."We know very well what the crime of Nawaz Sharif and the Muslim League is. What do we ask for? We ask for civilian supremacy in Pakistan," Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq told a news briefing on Friday.
The army has not commented on Sharif's removal, or on allegations they were involved. The army has dismissed claims in the past that they were behind the Supreme Court's push against Sharif.

Pakistan Defiant as US Ponders South Asia Strategy
VOA
Days after the Pentagon announced it is withholding $50 million intended for Pakistan as part of its Coalition Support Fund, the South Asian country's ambassador hinted at potential retaliation, possibly coaxing Washington to negotiate access to the country's air corridors, which Islamabad suggests have been taken for granted.Pakistan is ready to cooperate with the United States, Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said, though Washington may now end up having to negotiate with Islamabad on the corridors and other tangible assets, he added."All that Pakistan has done in the fight against terrorism has not been sufficiently factored" into the U.S. decision to reduce its support funds, Chaudhry lamented during a discussion this week at the Washington office of the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies.
Pakistan has facilitated air and ground logistical support for U.S. troops in Afghanistan "like no one else," Chaudhry said, adding that "since 2001, all air corridors from Pakistan have been available to the United States free of cost." So money can be made on playing upon Pakistan's so -called geostrategic location !
For its part, Islamabad's message is don't drop "every security lapse in Afghanistan on Pakistan's doorsteps," as the country's ambassador to the U.S. put it.
Chaudhry indicated in an interview with VOA that Islamabad had grown accustomed to having to negotiate with Washington. "These and all other issues are always negotiated, because that's in the nature of the business" between allies, he said. By contrast, he pointed to Pakistan's "unique" relationship with China, the top strategic rival to the U.S. in Asia.Islamabad sees Beijing as its closest ally, he added, and the two countries find themselves completely attuned. ( The fun will start when Pakistan will default on CPEC Loans  ) There is "so much of a meeting of minds," he noted — with no "policy differences at all" dividing them.
What appears to be China's determination to make the Sino-Pakistan partnership a success story, analysts say, may have to do with Beijing's global ambitions."As its need grows for friends who can facilitate the extension of its reach as a global military power," China is now trying to turn its relationship with Pakistan into a model for other potential security partnerships, Small said. Pakistan is always available for sale to the highest bidder
For now, however, Pakistan's Ambassador Chaudhry told VOA: "Both the United States and China have a global role to play, and Pakistan is a friend of both."
In his view, the ultimate consideration for Pakistan's cooperation with China on Gwadar and CPEC, their economic corridor, comes down to the question of "economic empowerment of the people living in Balochistan and the rest of Pakistan." The southwestern province of Balochistan, which the economic corridor traverses, also is known as a center of Taliban activity in Pakistan.

Nawaz was dismissed using Sharia.
Raymond Davis was released using Sharia
Imran Khan can be disqualified using Sharia - but the ISI will use that as a sword to hang over him to control him.

BTW, we know about this one love child. If by the grace of the ISI and AoA, Dimram becomes PM of Pakistan, there is likely to be a deluge of kids claiming to be his progeny. The real fun will begin then.

128 Pakistanis held near Taftan while trying to enter into Iran
The Iranian authorities have arrested 100 Pakistanis near Taftan for illegally crossing the border on Saturday. The Iranian border force arrested 128 Pakistanis while they were attempting to enter Iran without valid documents. The arrested individuals were the illegal immigrants seeking entry into Europe through Iran-Turkey route. These arrested individuals were handed over to Levies force deployed on the border in Balochistan.Hundreds of Pakistanis have been trying on daily basis to reach Europe in search of better future risking their lives while passing through Iran and Turkey. They usually land in Greece and later slip into Bulgaria and other European states once they cross Turkey.
Did they be intend to claim political asylum in Iran in the wake of Ganja's dismissal.

When It Rains, It Pours ( For "Poor" Ganja :D )

Nawaz’s name removed from official National Assembly's website
The National Assembly secretariat has removed the name and portfolio of disqualified Member National Assembly Nawaz Sharif from the website soon after the verdict of Panama Leaks Case. The Supreme Court (SC), in its verdict of Panama Papers Case, found Nawaz Sharif guilty for not declaring his assets and disqualified him as a parliamentarian. Hence, Ex-MNA Nawaz Sharif name was removed from the website. Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) de-notified  Nawaz Sharif as parliamentarian and also issued the notification of his disqualification on Friday night. IMO, this is going to "hurt". The all important H&D factor. Now no (digital ) naam-o-nishan of Ganja.!
