all these takes years of work even for professional armed forces.

The most important lesson from Syria is that determined men with fire in the belly can get amazing things done under extreme circumstances.

How to convey this to the "Professional Armed Forces" and the "Professional Maintainers" and the "Professional Weapons Development Bureaus" before it is too late?

I think SAA was a classic "Modern Professional Army" until around 2012. Now they are successful, well-led fighting force that wins wars.

B52 ided over raqqa city.

excerpt:
There is no evidence to suggest that American strategic bombers are carrying out large-area carpet bombings over Raqqa and so it seems highly unlikely due to the political repercussions of such extreme military action by the US.

In any case, it is possible that the bombers, loaded with precision munitions (i.e. JDAM and Paveway guided bombs), constantly loiter over Raqqa to be on call for strikes against specific ISIS targets (tactical positions, car bombs, troop movements, etc) as they are identified by forward air controllers on the ground or by reconnaissance drones.

The only confirmed event in regards to the US carrying out a carpet bombing mission during the Syrian War (so far) was just after the turn of this year when at least one B-52 bomber flattened an Al-Qaeda training camp in Idlib, killing 100 militants.

At Army 2017 Expo , Russian AeroSpace forces have mentioned the types of target they shot in Syria via Pantsir-S Missile

Next three are distance, height and velocity of the target.

The targets are (top to bottom):
"hell canon" round

Must be the usn seals near coast operating on a one way probing mission for Tartu's facility , it has a range of 16 hrs ! Syria must be a happy hunting ground of half dozen SF from many countries

Among the list of target most interesting are the mbrl rocket , this system is like iron dome of Russian airforce and now proven in combat

The maximum distance Pantsir engaged a target is 16 km and height 11 km

youtube ML translation is a miss on this video but here is my take.

the first part is from cellphone of a dead ISIS munna, showing them preparing a raid
the second part is drone video and fighting from a pro-SAA militia in the desert who kills this attack from behind berms and ditches
the two streams of video seem interleaved in part.

all the iraqi/iran/afghan pro-SAA militias wear yellow or green headbands , but i see none of that in video above and instead one man wearing a red one.
after some searching it looks like liwa al quds the militia of ex palestinian refugees now syrians wears that, it is known they are posted near the Humaymah T2 region so the fight would be from there

they fought alongside the tiger forces in the retaking of aleppo. they are sunni mostly.

nubl and zahra which were relieved n-w of aleppo have also contributed militias to the desert fighting under the hezbollah umbrella.

islam continues to impress highly in its ability to organize fighting forces even from small population bases...and motivating them to fight for their sect far far away - there is not even any loot or plunder at the end of it, just a modest salary and some pkg if martydom in line of duty.

the pic above has everyone from grandpa to teens. liwa al quds even has some womens units in aleppo.

note the huge area of niveveh and anbar that still runs under isis boots.
the iraqis really need to step up the work.

in 2 weeks the syrians will be done with the daesh pockets in east hama and turn their full fury on the march to DEZ - punching from 4 fronts.

ISIS mukt syria will likely happen much before Iraq.

they are even squashing that tiny isis pocket on the lebanon border.

US has ambitions to capture east bank of the euphrates in syria, and the SDF is making some noises of starting an offensive - but without seasoned PKK and YPG units which are tied up in raqqa, afrin and EphShield borders, the arabi tribal militias whether in SDF or pro-SAA are not really upto par in fighting 1st echelon ISIS units. and the kurds might not want to lose further blood fighting south of raqqa in areas with 0 ethnic kurds which are not even marked in their rojava maps.

that might limit their options despite air support being ready.

The Syrian army supported by Russian warplanes has conducted a major operation to eliminate Daesh's most battle-tested and well-armed unit in Tell Ghanem al-Ali on Euphrates River, the Russian Defense Ministry said Sunday.
Over 800 Daesh terrorists, 13 tanks, 39 pickup trucks equipped with large-caliber machine guns and 9 mortars and artillery guns have been destroyed, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"On August 27, 2017, the [Syrian] government forces' units have annihilated Daesh's most battle-tested and well-armed group with massive support of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the Euphrates River valley near the city of Tell Ghanem al-Ali."

toll of raqqawi tribesmen from the isis attack last week that is mostly rolled back now by tigers + AF.

60 kia
300 missing but isis wont leave them alive ..... the saa+hezbollah did a indian self goal by letting 300 isis families relocate from qalamoun on lebanon border under red cross to al bukamal in a surrender deal in exchange for leaving the area after soundly defeating them from all sides. these could have been ransomed for any tribesmen left alive and the rest detained for use later.

a small thing but would have won the loyalty of the affected tribes hard hit by the loss of so many men.

The retaking of Tal Afar in Iraq was surprisingly easy. ISIS had put up its main fight in Mosul it seems.

As per Haidar Sumeri(@IraqiSecurity)- Mosul's Minister of Labour/Social Affairs before its fall to ISIS, has admitted the Da'ish "minister of labour" was the ministry's director in Ninawa province. Series of tweets -

Haidar Sumeri‏ @IraqiSecurity Aug 26
[1]. I've been saying the (majority) Sunni community in #Mosul succumbed to Da'ish way before June 2014 for ages. Here's some new evidence:
[2]. Mosul's Minister of Labour/Social Affairs has admitted the Da'ish "minister of labour" was the ministry's director in Ninawa province.
[3]. Prior to the city's collapse, this infiltrator diverted $120m+ from the social security budget (intended for the poor) to Da'ish.
[4]. This heist was coordinated with a committee overseen by the then deputy governor of Ninawa and other top provincial officials
[5]. Many wealthy politicians and businessmen from #Mosul diverted millions upon millions to Da'ish over the years leading up to June 2014.
[6]. Atheel Al-Nujayfi (L), ex-Governor of Ninawa & brother of VP Osama Al-Nujayfi (R), is accused of diverting provincial funds to Da'ish.
[7]. The Sunni elite class in #Mosul financed Da'ish's predecessors (Al-Qaeda/ISI) for a decade, as a bulwark against "Shi'a Baghdad"
[8]. Mosul's population was aware of where all this stolen money was going and didn't even attempt to protest/block the unfolding treason
[9]. Da'ish made millions of $ per month "taxing" businesses in #Mosul and faced no objections & no resistance from the people of the city.
[10]. Today, entire sections of Mosul has been flattened. And those same criminals who bankrolled this terror are looking to make a return

Rebels trained children to fake chemical attacks. @Partisangirl seems to have found an old video of a training session.

https://www.sott.net/article/360434-Sme ... ck-victims
...The original video was published in September 2013 on this channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_co... . This is a shortened version of that video. It shows children being instructed by terrorists to act like they have been hit with Sarin gas, they convulse, they're eyes blink and they froth at the mouth with fake foam applied to their faces by terrorists. A of children applaud. A man in a Mickey mouse costume tells them it's all fun.
