Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday criticised madrassas that have mushroomed nationwide for mostly teaching only Islamic theology, saying the country needs to “revisit” the religious school concept. What will then happen to the Paki Army Motto of Iman, Taqwa and Jihad-fi-Sabilillah, based on the Islamic Eid-iology; has he given a thought to that![]()
Modernising madrassa education is a thorny issue in Pakistan where religious schools are often blamed for radicalisation of youngsters but are the only education available to millions of poor children.General Bajwa’s remarks, apparently off-the-cuff during a prepared speech, were a rare example of an Army chief criticising madrassas, which are often built adjacent to mosques and underpin Islamisation efforts by religious hardliners.Bajwa said a madrassa education in Pakistan was inadequate because it did not prepare students for the modern world. Why worry about the "modern world", when the Mullahs want Pakistanis to live " in the golden age of Islam"![]()
“I am not against madrassas, but we have lost the essence of madrassas,” Bajwa told a youth conference in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan. Islam Brigade should take "due note" of these anti-Islam remarks !
Bajwa said he was recently told that 2.5 million students were being taught in madrassas belonging to the Deobandi, a Sunni Muslim sub-sect that shares the beliefs of the strictly orthodox Wahhabi school of Islam on the Arabian Peninsula.
“So what will they become: will they become Maulvis (clerics) or they will become terrorists?” Bajwa asked, saying it was impossible to build enough mosques to employ the huge number of madrassa students. Shocking ! Is he implying that if you go to a madrassa, there are only two "career choices" available to a "graduate"
“We need to look (at) and revisit the concept of madrassas... We need to give them a worldly education.” IOW, he is agreeing with Marx that "religion is the opium of themasses"Abduls ! But , only for the sake of argument, if this "strategic shift" were to happen, what will then become of the famous "universities" like Jamia Binori, Krachi ( alma mater of Jash Chief Azhar ) or the University Of Jihad at Akora Khattak ( Mullah Omar fame !)
Security services have kept a close eye on madrassas associated with radicalising youths and feeding recruits to Islamist militant outfits that have killed tens of thousands of people in the South Asian country since 2000. It is like "promoting" junk food and spending huge amounts on health care to try to "fix" the problem created by consumption of junk food![]()
But only a handful of the schools have been shut down, the authorities’ hand stayed by fears of a religious backlash. Once you are hooked on opium, it is pretty difficult to let go of the habit![]()
Bajwa said poor education was holding back the nation of 207 million people, and especially in madrassas.“Most of them are just teaching theology. So what are their chances? What is their future in this country?” Why is this COAS of an Islamic nation, thinking in such unislamic way . The "crore commanders" in their monthly meeting should take up this matter![]()
The military last year proposed a plan to deradicalise religious hard-liners by “mainstreaming” some into political parties, a plan initially rejected by the civilian government but which now appears to be taking form. Hafiz and Rizvi have "welcomed" this move![]()

'Pakistan to send astronauts into space in two years'![]()
Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman has announced that Pakistan will be able to send astronauts into space with the collaboration of China ( was not aware that "space travel" was also "covered" under CPEC) in the next two years.
He was addressing the inauguration session of AirTech’17 conference, hosted by Air University in Islamabad on Thursday, according to a statement issued by Pakistan Air force (PAF). AirTech’17 is the country’s largest technical and scientific Olympiad, being held at the main campus of Air University from December 7 to 10.The air chief disclosed that Pakistan was currently working to manufacture next generation aircraft with the support of Chinese experts, adding that China was also providing technical support to Pakistan for launching the satellite programme. So, like the Islamic Bum, it ( the space thing !), is most likely a "complete assembly and paint job" imported from China !Pakistan annuallymanufacturesassembles ( let's me honest about it and call a spade a spade) 16 to 20 JF-17 aircraft, which are much better than F-16 planes then why are they still yearning for these !!! in performance, said Aman.
The air chief, in his keynote address on “Leadership, Education & Society Development”, said the purpose of an education system must be to introduce latest technologies and contribute something positive for the betterment of society as a whole. He also urged the importance of industry-academia cooperation. “No doubt, Pakistani students are talented, intelligent and hard-working but to achieve success in life goals, unconditional faith, firm commitment and tireless struggle are essential,” he emphasised. December 7, 2017 appears to be an unusually "high day " for Sohail ( Air Chief Marshal !) . On top of this, he earlier had made a statement that Pakistan will shoot down any US drones that violate the country's airspace . Strong words both ! What had he been smoking that particular day ? Peshawari charas, or too excited to be the keynote address person![]()

THE Nov 26, 2017, six-point agreement between the Faizabad protesters and the government/military was a major setback for the reputation and image of Pakistan.
Whatever the answer, the government finally surrendered its constitutional authority to the military.
The military in turn transgressed its constitutional limits and ‘saved the country’ by conceding the unconstitutional demands of foul-mouthed religious politicians who threatened chaos throughout the country.
at home Pakistan is for the taking by extremists; abroad it has made a laughing stock of itself.
What more could India ask for?
Pakistan’s national and foreign policy are now without a coherent governmental base.
Every ideal and value the Quaid’s Pakistan embodied has been betrayed.
the irrelevant current prime minister who cannot even address the nation
the pathetic parliament which only produces rupee billionaires and dollar millionaires
the military and its intelligence establishment who wield unauthorised political power without knowledge or wisdom
Why should India try to destroy Pakistan when the country’s rulers are doing it themselves?
Last June, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia referred to Pakistan as ‘a slave country’. He can summon the prime minister and the army chief at a moment’s notice — even in the midst of a major domestic crisis.
What about China? What must it think as it beholds the endlessly silly and scary spectacle in Pakistan? What future can it envisage for CPEC and its strategic partnership with Pakistan? At the very least, it will feel compelled to have alternative plans.
How will an imploding Pakistan elicit support for its promotion of a just and stabilising settlement process in India-held Kashmir, or effectively call out India for its many documented atrocities?
The world sees the situation in Pakistan as not merely ridiculous, but dangerous, since it has a nuclear arsenal (ah, yes, the nooclear bums), which India and the US will argue has an even higher risk now of falling into the hands of extremists.
what can another election achieve even if it is held fairly and leads to a change of faces? The parameters will still confine any elected government to tinkering on a ship that is sinking.
What needs to be done is very well known. It is nonsense to suggest it cannot be done because the powers that be are too powerful and the people are imprisoned in low self-esteem and low expectations.
Pakistan is a poor country with horrible inequality and social indices.
Only one national leader, within his limitations and despite his mistakes, has sincerely tried to serve the people.

Pakistan Foreign Office assured the safety and security of Jadhav’s family. Upon which Sushma tweeted:“Pakistan has agreed to facilitate the visit of mother and wife of Kulbhushan Jadhav and assured us of their safety, security and freedom of movement in Pakistan.”
Jadhav, 47, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court in April on charges of espionage and terrorism. India took his case to International Court of Justice (ICJ). ICJ in May had halted his execution on India’s appeal.![]()

Canadian, American and Nigerian hackers besides Pakistanis in the scam.

ISLAMABAD – A total of six documents were signed, including the Long Term Plan for CPEC which is to run from 2017 till 2030. In addition, minutes of the 7th JCC were also approved by both sides, as well as those from the meeting of the Joint Working Groups on Gwadar, Energy and Industrial Parks. Implementation minutes on New Gwadar International Airport were also finalised. The tone of these disclosures appears to be "defensive" in nature![]()
The subsequent JCC will work on commercial contract and financing arrangement for the Main Line 1 (ML1) project which envisions a high speed rail link between Karachi and Peshawar. This is the single largest project in CPEC. In addition to ML1, “3 new infrastructure projects will accelerate talks on signing commercial contracts and financing agreements” Zhao says. Feasibility reports for nine Special Economic Zones (SEZs) “were handed over to Chinese side” he says, adding that three of them, “Rashakai, Dhabeji and M-3 in Faisalabad seemed most feasible.” The language is non-committal on whether any decision was made to begin construction on these yet, or whether further work is needed before work begins. All of these "agreements" should have been made public first and approval sought later. In this case, it is the other way around !
For Gwadar, the NDRC notes the beginning of the construction of East Bay Expressway, whose ground breaking was held after the JCC meeting, and “Gwadar power plant and Gwadar Expo will be inaugurated very soon. Major projects will be completed in Gwadar Free Zone by early 2018”.
Regarding the Diamer-Bhasha Dam, the NDRC is quoted by the diplomat as saying that “China and Pakistan discussing Bhasha dam project under CPEC energy expert group. However it has not been included in list of energy projects. Recent media report on Bhasha dam was not accurate, or reflected on personal view of an individual official.” damage control exercise !![]()
The reference is to news reports from a parliamentary committee during which a former Chairman Wapda claimed that the Diamer-Bhasha project is being cancelled due to the stringent conditions attached by the Chinese side for its financing. The report was never formally clarified by any government body.
Mr Zhao made no mention of the reported demand from the Chinese side to allow the Yuan to be used as legal tender in Gwadar. ( This is most "interesting" . First the word "demand". It may also signal a very large Chini presence in the Gawadar area . And the non confidence in Paki Rupee and also Paki Traders IMO) Regarding news reports that Pakistan will receive 9 per cent of Gwadar Port’s earnings, he shared a published clarification issued by the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) chairman.
In the clarification, the chairman confirms that the GPA will get “9pc of the gross revenue from port and marine service businesses and 15pc of the free zone businesses.” IMO this is the beginning of a thin edge of a very wide wedge - the sure Chinification of Pakiland with the stealth introduction of the Yuan, on an experimental basis onlee in the Gawadar area and slowly and surely "spreading and creeping " into the hinterland of Pakiland![]()
ISLAMABAD: The additional sessions court dismissed on Friday a plea against senior anchorperson Hamid Mir, which alleged his involvement in the kidnapping of deceased Khalid Khawaja. The case was heard in the additional session judge Islamabad Muhammad Jahangir’s court.
