‘Expired’ anti-measles vaccines kill three children in Nawabshah
KARACHI – Three children have died and at least three others are in critical condition in Sindh after they were administered ‘expired’ measles vaccines on Saturday
The parents of the deceased children alleged that a lady health worker visited their homes in the Saeedabad area and administered anti-measles vaccines against their will. They claimed that the woman had not followed proper protocol, as she took the vaccines (past their expiry date) and injections out from her purse and administered doses to the children.
Police have taken the lady health worker administering the allegedly expired vaccines into custody for investigation. A case has yet to be registered, but a complaint may be filed once medical reports are issued, police said. Lack of funds to replace the expired stock may have led to this !

"Father Of 35" Again In The News

This Pakistani father of 35 is aiming for 100 children
LAHORE – Mohammad Khiji, aged 46, is huband to 3 women with 35 children, with the aim of having 100 children. Claiming  to be a qualified medical technician, Khiji runs a small unregulated clinic treating minor ailments of people. He also runs a seminary funded by donations, which is said to have around 400 students.
Khilji proposes that it is his religious duty to have as many children as possible. All of his previous three marriages were arranged by his parents within a span of 5 months each of his previous marriage. He was married first when he was 27 with his first wife being 26. Khilji’s eldest child is currently 15 and his youngest is just a few weeks old, and all three of his wives support his goal of having 100 children. How does he find time for his clinic duties, if he is "busily engaged" in "servicing" all three of his spouses
Ever since his story has been shared on social media, he has been getting several proposals. So this time, his parents are "managing" the new proposals !
The expenditure of Khilji’s household is nearly 120,000 PKR, with 20 out of 35 of his children attending private school, which Khilji states that he pays for the expenses himself. Someone should audit the cash donations received by the seminary which he manages to verify the veracity of this "tall" claim. And that this is yet not another case of "Pakistaniyat"
Khilji hopes tht the government supprots him to complete his goal ( it will be "political suicide" - internationally - for the Paki Govt to openly come up and support this "project" ) as he aspires to be an inspiration for others.Watch this video by AFP ( good or bad publicity for Pakistan in foreign countries  ) for more information into the life of Khilji and his household.

Paki Passport "Improves" Its Standing In Henley Passport Index .

Pakistani passport ranked fourth worst for international travel
The Express Tribune
KARACHI : The Pakistani passport has been ranked as the fourth worst in the world for international travel.
Since the past two years, Pakistan has been constant with their spot of being on the second worst country in the world but has improved their position to fourth this year.
Definitely an improvement
Pakistan only ranks better than three war-torn countries—Syria (103), Iraq (104) and Afghanistan (105).
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s neighbour India ranked on the 81st alongside Ivory Coast, Senegal and Togo. No = = here !

Farooq Abdullah: Jinnah did not want separate country for Muslims

He is correct. Without partition Jinnah would have been a kingmaker in a massive country. Why would he agree for one.
Thankful there was partition. I wish it was without bloodshed. Jinnah was now the king of motheaten Pakistan, rather than the entire India.

Imagine the entire population of Pak and Bangladesh as part of India. If i had power I would give Bharat Ratna to Jinnah for taking all the nutcases along with him.

Pakistan may suffer from domino effect if world goes to ‘trade war’

KARACHI: US President Donald Trump is en route to adopting protectionist policies which may spark a global trade war. While his intended actions will not impact Pakistan directly, experts believe they will create a domino effect that will hit the country.
In a big bang, Trump said steel products would face 25% tariffs and aluminium 10% from next week.

“This is exactly in line with Trump’s electoral promises,” NUST Islamabad School of Sciences and Humanities Principal and Dean Ashfaque Hasan Khan told The Express Tribune on Friday.

One way or the other, the policy initiative is going to impact China, the largest steel producer and exporter in the world. Since Pakistan has massively redirected its economic reliance on China from the US, it may suffer as a consequence of a trade war between the two, he said.

Despite not being a leading steel exporter to the US, China is strongly believed to retaliate against the protectionist policy as it has done in the past.

Leading steel exporters to the US include Canada, the EU, South Korea, Brazil, Russia, Taiwan and Turkey.

Khan said “the (Trump’s) initiative will have almost no impact on Pakistan…it stands nowhere among those 100-110 steel exporters to the US and only makes a few billion dollars worth of textile exports which are already taxed by the US.”

Analysts are divided whether the steel exporting nations would dump their products in Pakistan after the US duties. They stated that Pakistan has already imposed anti-dumping duties on steel imports to protect its industry.

“Trump’s move will (however) initiate a global trade war which will slow down world economic growth,” Khan added.

Another analyst said the consequences could be more extreme including an increase in the cost of doing business globally, increased inflationary pressure on world economies, increase in key policy rates by central banks making lending to the private sector expensive and so on and so forth.

He said the protectionist policy may make it tougher for Pakistani professionals to find jobs in the US while those already working may find their jobs being threatened by US nationals. He said China has continued to lend dollars to Pakistan due to depleting foreign exchange reserves and widening of current account and trade deficits.

On the other hand, the US has already stopped reimbursing Pakistan for its expenditure on the war against terrorism by stopping payments under the Coalition Support Fund (CSF).

Last week, the US succeeded in putting Pakistan on the FATF’s terror financing watch list from June and warned of blacklisting in case it fails to submit an action plan for dealing with terrorists with an iron hand.

Placement on the watch list is largely being seen as politically motivated since China and Pakistan have strengthened economic ties under the ongoing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), analysts said. Another analyst recalled that the US did not reduce duties on textile imports from Pakistan like the European Union did under the GSP Plus status.

The likely global trade war may see some of the US’s closest allies making harsh moves in response to the new protectionist measures. Some of them have already launched protest against the protectionist policy.

Indian Muslims are easily above 20-22 crore and Pakis are nearing 30-32 crores. In 100 years, we will have 50 crore Muslims in India itself, then they can do whatever they like. Not a matter of if but when.

I used to take Farooq Abdullah seriously till about 10 years ago, even though I didn't agree with most of what he said, purely because of his position within Kashmir. However, looking at his track record of puzzling and often conflicting statements in the last 4-5 years, he can no longer be taken seriously by anyone. He is basically the Rakhi Sawant of politics, resorting to say controversial/trolling stuff just to get attention for himself.

Coming to the Pakis, out of hate for India they celebrate Independence day on 14th Aug. Perhaps we too should celebrate it as 'good riddance to Pakis' day! We certainly have a lot more to celebrate in that regard than them, seeing the pathetic state that they have managed to land themselves in, over a short 70 year time-period.

Immy To "Try His Luck" In Krachi !

Imran announces to contest elections from Karachi
KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said that he would contest the 2018 general elections from Karachi. ( Karachi onlee, or as" insurance " will contest in a "safe seat" as well  ). Addressing a gathering in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi, he said that it would be the first time the city would get the best chance for change, adding that Karachi was the city that used to run the affairs of the entire country and was the city where people came to spend vacations.Imran further said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) had the highest rate of terrorism but had become peaceful. Army school attack forgotten
Imran is scheduled to visit numerous party camps, including those on PIB Colony, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Naval Colony Liaquatabad and others for the membership drive.Apart from meeting the party leaders, the PTI chief is expected to address a public rally today at Burns Road around 9:00 pm. Unhappy fan puts ‘Lahore Qalandars’ up for sale on eBay
LAHORE: An unhappy fan of Lahore Qalandars, Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, put the whole team up for sale on eBay, an e-commerce website. The mock ad titled ‘Lahore Qalandars PSL T20 Team’ mentions the product condition as “for parts or not working”. The seller jokes in one note saying “Looks like all the parts are there, but won’t run properly”.
The ‘PSL’ brand offering under ‘Qalandar’ model exhibits a starting bid of just $1.
It says, “Only 3 years old, however it is out of warranty. Requires some love and attention to return to good working order. I have receipts for all of the parts.”
“Unfortunately, I brought the wrong ones. You may be able to return the Umar Akmal if you still have the tags,” cautions the seller. It is told that Akmal can “even run on grapes”.
So far, Lahore Qalandars have lost all their matches in PSL 2018. They are on the bottom of the table with five losses, one each against every franchise. Did he do any bets on the team

Hassan Nisar's thinking is the same as the Deobandi hardliners who opposed the partition - they knew that by asking for a 'moth-eaten' separate state, they were going to lose their leverage over the much larger subcontinent of India.

German Envoy To Pakiland Going Native

‘What an experience’: Top German envoy just milked a buffalo in Pakistan
LAHORE – German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler, who recently caught the world’s eye by dining in at a biryani joint in Lahore, has won the countrymen’s hearts once again. On the request of one of his followers on social media, the German envoy paid a visit to a farmhouse in Punjab, where he milked a buffalo
Earlier this week, Kobler had visited Punjab’s capital and stopped at an ordinary food shop for a plate of chicken biryani – one of South Asian  ( I thought that the Pakis had "appropriated" biryani as one of their own - like the Indus Valley Civilization )region’s favourite food.

jinnah's persistent jockeying for personal power in an undived India with special rights for the muslims, over the Hindus, because the muslims were the erstwhile "rulers" and therefore the rightful "heirs" to the british raj misfired very badly, mainly because of his fatal brinkmanship.

What he rued so bitterly after partition when he said "moth-eaten and truncated" pakistan
was his bitter disappointment at a truncated punjab and bengal.

He knew that one day, soon, he would be reviled in his own motheaten country for the mess that he had created. He knew, before he died, that his life had been for nought.

when he failed miserably in his goal of illegitimately capturing power in an undivided India, he wanted an undivided punjab and bengal in a maimed and truncated India but what he got instead was a maimed, "moth-eaten and truncated" punjab and bengal.

he had for long, cast his covetous, greedy, and evil eyes on the calcutta port which he so desperately wanted for pakistan. It would have been their golden goose that perpetually kept laying golden eggs to nurture their evil enterprise.

he had failed, at every turn, to achieve something, anything good for his shithole of a country, mainly because of his monumental ego and personal greed.

Ultimately, it was the unremitting and foul stench of failure that finally did him in.

Thank god that these b@$t@&d$ left when they did.

Economic fallout of being on grey list
PAKISTAN is once again in the danger zone owing to allegations  of terror financing, and the situation can translate into economic damage.
Pakistan’s failure to comply may damage its reputation as an investment destination, which will lead to economic losses.
Moreover, the country may also face increased transactions costs, restricted access to international financial market and the downgrading of its banking sector’s rating.
Pakistan was on the grey list during 2012 to 2015 on charges of money laundering. But this time around, the primary charge is terror financing. One can clearly understand that given the level of distrust, the response of the international community would be much strict this time.
Restrictions on Pakistan’s access to the international financial market may be stricter this time than in the 2012-2015 period.
Rating agency Fitch has already revised the outlook on Pakistan’s long-term foreign and local currency issuer default ratings to negative from stable
Other agencies like Standard and Poor’s and Moody’s are also likely to downgrade country’s sovereign debt rating.
Financial institutions may tighten the lending or will add higher risk premium to markup.
The flow of foreign currency may also shrink.
At the same time, any increase in the cost of borrowing would also hurt the economy.
Increased transaction cost and reputational loss also discourage foreign investment and the inflow of remittances. It is the foreign direct investment (FDI) that will suffer the most.
Pakistan may witness capital flight
This can cause a decline in government revenues and general economic activity.
we may end up going to the IMF. But the IMF, World Bank and other international lenders may play cold given the fact that the FATF motion comes from the United States.
Rating agencies can demote ratings of individual banks, particularly those operating abroad. This may put the banks under strict regulations, thus reducing their overall competitiveness by increasing compliance costs.
foreign banks may leave the country
Overall, it squeezes the chances of joint ventures.
Bakistan is willing to go through all this to protect three terrorists and support terrorism in Kashmir.

Pakistan’s debt obligations

Long list. Posting in full.
WITH total debt servicing projections at $31.3 billion until 2022-23, Pakistan expects a balanced report today from the International Monetary Fund, notwithstanding America’s adversarial stance, seen at its peak during the recent meetings of a global money-laundering watchdog in Paris.

This will be the first post-programme monitoring (PPM) report from the IMF executive board after the completion of $6.4bn Extended Fund Facility in September 2016.

Pakistan has to undergo annual PPM reviews in addition to usual Article-IV consultations until 2023 for borrowing significantly higher than its quota. The threshold for Pakistan to move out of the PPM is estimated at 1.4bn special drawing rights (SDRs) of the IMF ($2bn), currently estimated at around 4bn SDRs ($5.8bn).

It is against this backdrop that the government has made foreign debt servicing projections until 2022-23 to all creditors starting November 2017 including $4.2bn payable to foreign creditors during the current fiscal year. The current year would also see the beginning of debt servicing of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) loans with less than $80m repayments.

The debt servicing cost is estimated to increase to $6.42bn during the next fiscal year

The debt servicing cost is estimated to increase to $6.42bn during the 2018-19 fiscal year, including $1.76bn to multilaterals, $1.76bn to commercial banks and up to $1.34bn to international capital markets against bonds.

Repayments to Paris Club and non-Paris Club creditors for the next year are estimated at $900 million and $600m, respectively.

For the 2019-20 fiscal year, the government has projected foreign debt servicing cost at about $7bn, including $2.23bn to commercial banks, $1.9bn to multilaterals, $1.24bn to bond investors and $1.6bn to Paris and non-Paris Club members.

Similarly, the government estimates the debt servicing cost to come down significantly to $4.4bn in 2020-21 led by about $2bn to multilaterals, followed by about $1.6bn to bilateral creditors (Paris and non-Paris Club) and bond servicing declining to just $204m.

The debt repayment would again increase to $5.2bn in 2021-22 including more than $2bn to multilateral lenders, $1.9bn to bilaterals and $1.2bn as bond servicing.

The 2022-23 fiscal year is expected to see a decline in debt servicing to $4.2bn including $2bn to multilaterals, $1.9bn to bilaterals and fewer ($320m) repayments to commercial banks and bond investors put together.

The repayments due to the IMF are estimated at about $740m in 2019, $1.06bn in 2020, $1.19bn in 2021 and $1.08bn in 2022.

Government projections also include CPEC-related repayments on account of loans without taking into account repayments on account of return on investments. The government told the IMF during December consultations that $23bn worth of CPEC projects were under implementation, including $17bn in the energy sector by the private sector.

About $6.035bn worth of projects were in the road sector and funded through loans at a weighted average rate of interest at about 2.4pc. These include $1.315bn phase-II of the Karakoram Highway, $1.626bn Lahore Metro Orange Train and $2.9bn Sukkur-Multan Motorway.

This, however, does not include key projects on which agreements have yet to be signed, such as $8.2bn railway line from Karachi to Torkham on the Afghan border.

The flow of funds from not only the multilateral lenders like the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), but also from some major bilateral lenders would depend on the clean chit of economic health from the IMF.

The draft report has already been shared with Pakistani authorities as required before putting it up consideration of the executive board, but adverse comments from some directors could not be ruled out in the aftermath of Pakistan being put on the terror financing watchlist of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Islamabad says the move was politically motivated and intended to embarrass the country globally.

While the IMF has been appreciative of government policies under its three-year programme, things that may attract negative marking include some loosening of the fiscal side, inability to carry forward structural reforms to address energy sector losses, poor health of public sector entities, and limited success on tax base.

The IMF staff and Pakistan authorities have reportedly revised fiscal deficit limit to 5pc of GDP for the current fiscal year instead of 4.1pc despite a Rs200bn cut to the development programme. The current account deficit would remain challenging, as it soared 48pc to $9.2bn — almost 3.1pc of GDP — in the first seven months of the current fiscal year.

The flow of the World Bank assistance is normally linked to Pakistan’s ability to maintain official foreign exchange reserves sufficient to finance at least two months of the import bill, but it can sometimes be influenced by political dimensions.

The ADB has been a different case in the past that helped Pakistan in difficult situations despite US opposition and could find some support from newly established China-sponsored Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

The timing is of critical importance and a reminder of a 2007-08 situation when the Musharraf-led administration was pushed to the wall for political reasons and the subsequent PPP-led coalition government decided at the last moment to put on hold launching of a few transactions in the international capital market, followed by an IMF programme on tough conditions that could not survive the test of time beyond few initial tranches.

Ahead of FATF meetings in Paris, the Miftah Ismail-led Ministry of Finance withdrew from the cabinet meeting a case for launching another $1bn plus bond at the last moment. This was done even though the federal cabinet had already authorised a $3.5bn fund raising from the international market last year when the government stopped at $2.5bn bonds to avoid price escalation.

The ministry had announced at the time it could go for another bond launch for the remaining lot within 45 days. How things unfold going forward would be seen with interest, as the country traverses through diplomatic challenges and political transition.

Pakistan loses 50pc market share in Kabul
KARACHI: India has succeeded to penetrate in Kabul slashing the market share of Pakistan by more than 50 per cent in the last two years, Chairman Pakistan-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry Zubair Motiwala told Dawn on Friday.
Motiwala who recently visited Kabul said the penetration of India and China has limited Pakistan’s option to retain its market share while India subsidises heavily on its exports. He said Pakistan’s trade with Afghanistan fell to $1.2 billion from $2.7bn within in the last two years and the country has been losing even the traditional markets of flour, men and women’s clothes and red meat. Media reports in the past had stated that India has resorted to air freighting as an alternative to Pakistan's disallowance of its territory to Indian traders who want to ship goods by road via Wagah :D [/quote
He said Peshawar is the main victim of the declining trade with Afghanistan where people have lost their businesses on a large scale. Out of 200 flour mills, about 100 have been closed down due to a drastic fall in the export of flour to Afghanistan, he added.
...India and China are now supplying the readymade suits which are traditionally Pakistani products. Hope it is not a "joint India-China conspiracy" to hurt Pakiland
Editorial in The Nation, one of the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan principal newspapers, reporting the welcome news that Afghanistan is steadily reducing its trade dependence on Pakistan, thanks in part to Indian efforts, thereby increasing Afghanistan’s ability to fend off Pakistani threats of imposing trade embargo’s.

Looking forward to the share of the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Afghanistan’s trade continuing its fall as India’s investment in Iran’s Chabahar Port and on the Delaram to Zaranj highway bears fruit.:

Other T-20 leagues in the world like the IPL  can heave a sigh of relief  . Article in the Nation says the  mighty Pakistan Super League (PSL) cricket is suffering from problem of “very thin crowd”, a summation supported by one Salahuddin Ahmed aka Sallu, who reportedly was former chief selector :(( :
The PSL-3 has a very thin crowd not only in Dubai but also at Sharjah Stadium, which is considered as one of the best crowd-pulling venue. On this, Sallu said: “Yes, I do agree that there is a low crowd at both the venues. According to my information, people have been complaining that the venues are too far and they have to pay hefty amount to get tickets while the fair is also very high, which are the main reasons behind such a thin crowd.”

He said Pakistan’s trade with Afghanistan fell to $1.2 billion from $2.7bn within in the last two years and the country has been losing even the traditional markets of flour, men and women’s clothes and red meat. India has been providing goods at subsidised rates to capture the market and are providing air tickets with a 75pc rebate, said Motiwala, adding that Afghans find it easy to travel to India with cheap tickets and free multiple visas without police checks.

Each year thousands of Afghans used to visit Peshawar for medical treatment but now they prefer India due to cheaper treatments and other attractions like concessional treatments. “Medical tourism of Peshawar, which was mainly due to Afghans, is now at zero level; hospitals in Hayatabad are empty,” he continued.
:((
Pakistan was the biggest supplier of shalwar qameez suits to Kabul but that too has changed since both India and China are now supplying the readymade suits which are traditionally Pakistani products.

Islamic Imran Violates Islami Law Re: His THIRD Marriage

Imran contracted marriage before completion of Bushra Maneka’s Iddat, journalist claims

ISLAMABAD – The dust regarding the third marriage of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Supremo Imran Khan does not seem to settle as a journalist has leveled more allegations against Imran Khan’s third marriage.
The story by Umer Cheema of The News claims, without citing sources, the marriage of Khan with Bushra Maneka was performed at a time when the latter was observing iddah or iddat (period of waiting), which is the period a woman must observe after the death of her spouse or after a divorce, during which she is barred from marrying anyone. So, even the Paki journalists do not believe that "Imran is serious about Malsi" :D
The reporter Umar Cheema went on to claim that the cricketer-turned-politician made a humble  request to his nikkah khawan, Mufti Saeed, not to disclose the real date of nikah, fearing that it would create serious implications for him. And the Mullah Saeed became a party in a joint collusion against Malsi
According to the journalist’s unverfied claims, PTI members ( IMHO, it is not Imran who has got married, but it is the PTI Party that has tied the knot ! )raised questions as to why Mufti Saeed risked his credentials by performing nikah before iddat.Defending his position, Mufti Saeed expressed that there was no point of asking when the couple was already aware of the fact that marriage couldn’t be solemnized during iddat.
Mufti Saeed, who also performed Imran’s nikkah with Reham Khan and kept it secret, shared with his friends that there would be a big drama if he uncovered the truth. So, he is a "serial offender"
The sensational story also claims that a close confidante of Imran’s third wife, Farah Jabeen, lavished praise on Mufti Saeed for jealously guarding the secret by thwarting the media queries.
According to sources cited by the leading daily, Bushra Maneka was divorced on November 14th and as per Islamic injunctions, she could not enter into marriage with anyone till February 14th, a three-month period. However, according to pictures released by the party, Imran married Bushra on February 18th, though the report insists the exact marriage date was January 1st. Pulling a "burkha" over the eyes of the "Aam Abduls" of Pakiland
‘The News’ report unfolds the conversation between former Secretary General of PTI, Jahangir Tareen and Imran’s third wife. When Imran was introducing the guests to his bride during the Walima reception, Bushra had a chat with the former legislator in following words.“I want to let you know that I am not a jadoogarni (magician),” Bushra said, according to a person who was in attendance, though this was denied by Tareen.
Time will tell whether her 3 predictions will come true or not
Moreover, soon after the nikah, Imran demanded to talk to Tareen and as he attended, Imran said: “I have done this (nikah) for the reason that you win the next elections.” Political marriage !
The conversation ended, however, the newly-wed Imran rang again and complained that Tareen didn’t congratulate him on marriage reiterating that it had been done to ensure victory in NA-154 by-elections.Tareen, however, denied such exchanges as well and insisted that Khan had said no such thing.“Whatever, it was a personal message and there was no mention of future elections,” he told The correspondent. Hope all this interaction does not affect Jemima's still "fondness" for Immy and vice versa !

This Jang/Geo Group Owned English Newspaper Goes After Imran Khan - Again :D

Imran’s close friend also marries third time
The News International
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s close friend also tied a knot for the third time with the sister of a popular actress. According to sources, PTI chief’s friend who was present in Imran Khan’s marriage with Bushra Wattoo also married the sister of a famous actress and thus equated Imran Khan in the number of marriages. However, Imran’s friend had not disclosed his third marriage yet. No names named. Fear of libel action

The main reason for the thin crowds is that most of the matches are being played on working days, when the paki labor class (which constitutes majority of the pakis in the middle east) has to put in its 10 hour shifts. Cost and distances may be factors as well.

So, even if the tickets were given away for free, it still wouldn't pull in the crowds. Embarrassing.

Pakistan elects first female Dalit senator
5 Mar, 2018
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan elected its first female senator from the lowest Dalit caste in weekend polls which also saw the ruling party strengthen its hand ahead of a general election in the Muslim-majority country. The surprise victory of opposition candidate Krishna Kumari Kohli in the Senate election stirred a wave of optimism on social media, as Pakistanis celebrated the rare success for a woman from a marginalised community at the bottom of the Hindu caste hierarchy.
“I feel proud, I am thankful to Pakistan People’s Party that they nominated me,” Kohli told AFP Sunday. Hope the young woman genuinely does something about her besieged community and does not allow herself to be used for "propaganda purposes" by the Paki State . !

Potential Nuclear Weapons-Related Military Area in Baluchistan, Pakistan
by David Albright, Sarah Burkhard, Allison Lach, and Frank Pabian. Institute For Science And International Security
August 10, 2017
Pakistan has constructed a hardened, secure, underground complex in Baluchistan Province that could serve as a ballistic missile and nuclear warhead storage site (see figures 1 and 2). The underground complex is near a possible ballistic missile base, first identified in 2016 by Hans Kristensen of the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) and Colonel Vinayak Bhat (Ret.), a military intelligence veteran of the Indian Army.1
The purpose of the hardened underground complex is not yet available publicly, but it could serve as a hardened underground storage site for strategic reserves and hence a means of protecting a counterforce nuclear strike capability. Given that Pakistan’s preferred delivery vehicle for nuclear weapons is missiles with warheads and given the physical characteristics of the site, this site is an ideal, probable storage site for parts of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal. Although the site is located in the province of Baluchistan, which has endured many local insurgencies, Pakistan is likely more focused on having a secure area in a remote mountainous area in the middle of the country, as far as possible from its international borders, including India.

On this latitude, there is the Jinnah Mil Complex with Missiles and underground bunkers: 27°43'20.16"N, 66°37'27.55"E

Then there is this above complex Kirthar Mountains site: 3 tunnel entrances:
27°40'33.36"N, 66°56'1.25"E
27°40'58.56"N, 66°56'16.30"E
27°40'35.92"N, 66°56'45.88"E
Associated Army Base is located here: 27°41'52.92"N, 66°57'2.61"E

Further east about 48 Kms is yet another set of tunnels: Khenji Tunnels?
27°41'5.73"N, 67°25'10.37"E
27°41'17.26"N, 67°25'32.17"E
27°41'47.39"N, 67°25'43.05"E
Now this last complex still looks like a mining op to me. Maybe later, once that is done with, the fauj will try to make use of the tunnels.

"More"! Message From "Massa"

Pentagon expects Pakistan to ‘do more’
WASHINGTON: In a meeting held at the foreign office, Pentagon Chief Spokesperson Dana W White said “Well, with respect to Pakistan we believe that Pakistan can do more to combat terrorism”.
White added that ‘this is an inflection point and this is an opportunity and Pakistan has an opportunity to do more’ while replying to a question about the future of Pakistan and Afghanistan, ...
The Pentagon Chief spokesperson said that they looked forward to continue working with Pakistan where there is an opportunity, as Pakistan had been a victim of terrorism. Maybe, in private, a more "stern" message might have been given to "client". Gone are the days when Pentagon closed its eyes and approved Paki bills ( under Coalition Support Funds ) for fictitious roads built in FATA , and fuel consumed by Paki Air Force to fight the Taliban Air Force
Pakistan is once again in trouble with FATF. Last week Dr Muhammad Faisal, Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson, stated that the country would be placed on the grey list of the FATF in June.On February 26, a meeting between Tehmina Janjua, the foreign secretary of Pakistan, and US Deputy Assistant to the President Lisa Curtis was held during her emergency visit to the country. Pressure building on all fronts. And Hafez Suar Saheb making some noises on his own!

America First’ policy to have direct implications for Pakistan’s economy

ISLAMABAD: The Trump administration is trumpeting a new role to play in the world with the “America First” slogan.

The White House is releasing executive orders which are bound to reverse the globalisation process and domestic social-sector reforms undertaken by former president Barack Obama.

The very first victim of Trump policies is the immigrants. The health care bill has extensively been debated and the Trump administration is on its way to repeal it.

The North America Free Trade Agreement (Nafta) is under negotiation keeping in view the America First policy. Imports, especially of solar panels and washing machines, have been made difficult by imposing heavy taxes and duties.

Amid all this hoodwinking, China becomes the favourite target and is being criticised for creating economic crisis in the US. Despite all efforts, economic recovery is still very slow except for a sharp increase in Wall Street stocks. Professor Steve Pincus from Yale University has compared the current situation with the “Declaration of Independence” and period of struggle of US founding fathers.

In his book “The Heart of Declaration, The Founders’ Case for an Activist Government”, he considers economy and migration as basic elements for the independence struggle. The US founding fathers were British Americans first and America was second in their identity.

After the 1760s, ideas began to change. Britain was more keen on its “British First” policy. Subsidies started to shrink and growth in colonies started to reverse. Colonies were expecting more support, but the British Empire introduced new taxes and levies.

The British parliament passed Stamp Act of 1765 and Townshend Act of 1767. The new legislation gave authority to collect more revenue from colonies instead of investing there. The reason was that the British were under debt and they had not enough resources to pay it back.

Debt kept on increasing due to involvement in wars and adventures for new territories. The British also made it difficult for immigrants to move in and introduced new measures to halt it. Many people considered this as an act of independence as a majority of colonies looked for their separation from the British Empire.

The founding fathers considered free trade and economic integration as primary and must elements of growth and development. They looked towards Spanish Americans for extending trade, but the British Empire acted in a different way.

The Empire strictly prohibited the colonies from trading outside the Empire. It was evident that all these measures would negatively impact the well-being of common citizens of the colonies against the principles of free and liberal society.

Similarities

Trump’s actions are closely in line with the British Empire’s actions. The America First policy is a prominent feature and guideline for actions. Prohibitory measures are being applied to many countries. Immigration has become very complicated and has literally stopped many from travelling to the US. Lessons from the past are scary and significant to understand the dynamics of this policy.

The US started pursuing its dreams and it achieved the status of global leader after the First World War. The Second World War was a decisive moment for strengthening the US leadership. Now, the US is the sole superpower whereas the UK is a great power with limited influence in world politics.

History teaches us that the US consolidated its power by adopting a unique model of free and liberal trade and society. It generously helped war-devastated Europe to rebuild its economy, promote democracy, liberal values and prosperity. The principal lesson is that it was not about the construction of infrastructure, rather it was the idea of shared and prosperous future for all. The US also received immigrants with an open heart and paved the way for their integration into American society. Support for democracy further strengthened its positive image and respect.

American investment in Europe also created new economic opportunities back home. It also enhanced the US influence across the world as a reliable partner. Immigrants gave a boost to the economy as best minds from the world landed there. These measures were pivotal for the creation of America as a superpower.

Regrettably, the track followed by the US administration over the past few decades was similar to that of the British Empire. It has fuelled wars across the world. The US is under heavy debt and one of the major reasons is its war expenditure. It is revisiting its trade agreements and is finding ways to prohibit the countries from open trade. It is counter-productive, which is creating opportunities for other countries to fill the gap.

Filling the void

Now, China is filling this gap and is pursuing a two-pronged policy – non-interference and economic integration – with the objective of common future and shared destiny.

President Xi Jinping announced the new initiative called Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It is a comprehensive package of investment in infrastructure, trade and economic integration.

China is investing across the world in railways, energy, airports, roads, ICT, tourism, etc and allocated $1 trillion for improving infrastructure. A new multilateral institution in the name of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank was established to attract additional resources.

It has been estimated by the Asian Development Bank that Asia needs an investment of $12 trillion to upgrade the existing infrastructure.

China is creating a global economic model, which ensures participation of everyone for common destiny. Common destiny is being defined as an equal opportunity to grow and prosper. CPEC is one of the prominent examples which is a signature initiative of the BRI. On the contrary, the US and West are pressing their allies not to join the BRI, but with little success. Australia and South Korea have already joined the initiative and Japan is seriously considering joining it.

FATF grey list

The US is also using other instruments to hinder the success of CPEC and future investments in Pakistan. CPEC has also become the first victim of this change in US policy.

First prominent example can be quoted from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) resolution about Pakistan. The US, along with its allies, is pursuing to put Pakistan on the grey list and ultimately on black list.

It would have severe implications for Pakistan’s economy and doing business in the country. It will discourage FDI and international business community from working in Pakistan.

Therefore, the America First policy will have direct implications for Pakistan’s economy and future investments. Pakistan should work on a two-pronged strategy to avert this situation.
First, it should try to cover any gap in national policies and the institutional framework, which can be exploited by the international community. Second, it should negotiate with the West and the US to try to make them understand that only collaborative measures and joint ventures will lead to prosperity and enduring peace.

Two PIA passengers offloaded after fierce scuffle on board :D
A business class passenger on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight allegedly assaulted another while the plane was boarding  in Lahore on Saturday, resulting in both being offloaded from the plane.
a female passenger allegedly yelled at another near the entrance to the plane, then attacked her inside the plane
Eyewitnesses described the attacker as a middle-aged woman, who gave her 20-something victim a "ruthless thrashing", tore her clothes and attacked her with glasses picked from a stewardess's trolley.
According to eyewitnesses, the attacker's husband also witnessed the incident but did not intervene despite repeated requests from bystanders.
Business class ladeej, eh? I wonder what the economy class pia-hua passengers are up to?

Dual Nationals Cannot Feed At The Paki Public Trough No More - Supreme Court !

Halt notifications of senators-elect with dual nationality, SC orders ECP :D
SLAMABAD – Two days after the Senate elections, the Supreme Court has ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to halt the notification announcing the victory of four senators-elect for holding dual nationalities.Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, who was hearing a case pertaining to dual citizenship of judges and civil servants on Monday, ordered to halt the notification after the attorney general informed the court that four senators, namely, Sadia Abassi, Haroon Akhtar, Nuzhat Sadiq and Chaudhry Sarwar, hold dual nationality.
The top court issued notices to the four individuals to clarify their positions after the ECP said some of these have already submitted affidavits to the commission giving up their dual nationality. In Pakistan, any affidavit is not worth the paper it is written on ! Look what happened in case of Ganja Sharif in the end. Qatari Prince affidavit etc etc to save his "political future" !
The apex court, however, said the senators still need to appear and clear their records.According to a report submitted to the Supreme Court, the number of civil servants holding dual nationalities is 64 in Punjab, five in Sindh, nine in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), eight in Balochistan, 28 in Azad Kashmir, and one in Gilgit Baltistan. Dual nationality is like "insurance" . In case of a Khomeni type Islamic Revolution, Paki dual nationals, will take the first plane out , like the Irani Generals and the Irani politicos linked to the Shah !
