Rickshaw driver caught on camera sexually harassing PU students

LAHORE: A video has recently surfaced on the social media of a rickshaw driver masturbating in front of female students in broad daylight outside one of the gates of the Punjab University New Campus, raising a question mark on the security arrangements in place in the area. 1. The video appears to be in slo-mo, probably 2x or 3x slower - see the clock on the top left.
2. SUV went through the red light. Probably they are instructed to never stop at red lights. Bad things happen at red lights. Also bad things happen to those wanting to visit red lights as the Chinese found out.

Failed Pakistani Asylum Seeker ‘Slit Daughter’s Throat to Punish Wife’

A failed Pakistani asylum seeker has admitted murdering his two-year-old daughter, almost severing her head, in an alleged revenge act to “punish” his wife.Sohail A., 34, began his trial in a Hamburg court this Wednesday, accused of violently terrorising his wife, 32, and their two children before allegedly killing his tiny daughter Ayesha in October last year. Shocking in the tradition of "Pakistaniyat"

The couple was married according to Shariah and the union is not recognised under German law, the Hamburger Morgenpost reports.According to the indictment, Sohail was angered because his wife did not want her daughter returned to Pakistan, and when she left to report him for making death threats, he killed their daughter in a fit of rage. If he did not want his daughter, raised in Germany, then why the eff, did he have one !

The prosecution also accuses Sohail of several attacks on his five-year-old stepson, including throttling him, as well as beating his partner, in the years before the killing. He should have been locked up much before !

Sohail’s defence lawyer read a statement to the court on Wednesday morning, admitting the killing but denying the alleged motive. Sohail was in Germany despite his asylum application having been rejected six years ago. Something definitely wrong with the Immigration Law, or its implementation

His statement said: “The prosecution’s assumption that I acted out of anger over my wife and out of revenge is wrong. I was desperate, the situation seemed hopeless, everything seemed to break down around me. “I loved my daughter above all else. It is inconceivable for me to live without them, I blame myself.” Sohail reportedly arrived in Germany in 2011, staying in Hamburg before fleeing the city after killing his daughter.

He was finally tracked down in northern Spain, where he was arrested at a friend’s house after applying for a new Pakistani passport so he could return to his native country. Court papers reveal he killed his daughter “by almost completely separating the child’s head from her body”.The wife is due to testify to the court via a video link this Friday, so she does not have to share a room with Sohail again. The trial continues. And the Pakistani Consulate/ Embassy where he applied for a Brand New Green Book - wonder if "due diligence" would have been performed on his application

Pakistan is in direct talks with the Russia for the procurement of sophisticated military hardware, including air defence systems, fighter jets and battle tanks, a media report said today. Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan confirmed that Islamabad was interested in buying weapons from Moscow in an interview to the Russian news agency Sputnik, The Express Tribune reported.

“Air defence system is a different kind of weapon we are interested. We are very much interested in a very wide range of the Russian weapons technology. We are in negotiations [on air defence systems] and once we conclude negotiations, we will be able to announce them,” Khan said.

The defence minister also outlined that Islamabad was interested in acquiring T-90 tanks from Moscow as part of a long-term deal rather than committing itself to a single purchase.

“We are interested in tanks T-90 and it is not going to be a one-time purchase but it is going to be a long-term commitment,” (of course trying to get the spares for T 90 is going to be a lonnnggg term pain and project for pakistan) Khan was quoted as saying by the agency.

He added that negotiations for the purchase of Russian Su-35 fighter jets are in their early stages, and an agreement in this regard may be reached “in the next few years”,

according to the Russian website.

The defence minister noted that both Pakistan and Russia were interested in a stable and democratic Afghanistan.

If you look at the Video the SUV is indeed moving slowly BUT AT THE CROSS-ROADS THE SUV IS TO THE RIGHT OF THE MOTOR CYCLE AND THUS HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY. Indeed the Motor Cyclist is proceeding at a "FAST" Speed instead of STOPPING at the INTERSECTION and Giving Way to the Slow Moving SUV!

The cost overrun

Nandipur Power Project: In 2008, the Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) signed a Rs23 billion contract with Dong Fang Electric Corporation of China to build the 525MW power project. Lo and behold, our government has already spent Rs84 billion on the project. In 2014, representatives of the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) revealed that the Nandipur Power Project ‘generated electricity at the record cost of Rs42 per unit and was shut down after only five days of operation.’ BOY OH BOY - Pak Rs 3,000 for each and every Pakistani family GONE DOWN THE DRAIN!

A cost overrun ‘involves unexpected costs incurred in excess of the budgeted amounts’. A ‘Bill of Quantities’ is a ‘detailed statement of work, prices, dimensions and other details, for the construction of a project.’

In 2008, the Nandipur Power Project’s ‘Bill of Quantities’ stood at Rs23 billion. Why did the government end up spending a wholesome Rs84 billion? Why did the government end up spending a whopping 3.65 times the original ‘Bill of Quantities’? The initial plan was to produce 525MW by spending Rs23 billion. Is the plant economically feasible at Rs84 billion?

What went wrong? Did the price of the plant and equipment go up 3.65 times? Did the price of civil works go up 3.65 times? Did the price of steel go up 3.65 times? Is it incompetence? Is it corruption? Or is it mismanagement?

Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Plant: The construction of the plant was first approved in 1989 at a cost of Rs18 billion. The plan was later improved by increasing the tunnel length and the generation capacity. The new cost of PC-1 was estimated at Rs84 billion. On July 3 2014, the executive committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) revised the PC-1 cost from Rs84 billion to Rs274 billion. Lo and behold, our government has already spent Rs550 billion on the plant.

In 2002, the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Plant’s ‘Bill of Quantities’ stood at Rs84 billion. Why did the government end up spending a wholesome Rs550 billion? Why did the government end up spending a whopping 6.5 times the original ‘Bill of Quantities’? The original plan was to produce 969MW by spending Rs84 billion. Is the plant economically feasible at Rs550 billion? Can Neelum-Jhelum even produce 969MW after the Kishanganga Hydroelectric Plant?

What went wrong? Did the price of the plant and equipment go up 6.5 times? Did the price of civil works go up 6.5 times? Did the price of steel go up 6.5 times? Is it incompetence? Is it corruption? Or is it mismanagement?

New Islamabad International Airport: The construction of a new airport in Islamabad was first approved at a cost of Rs37 billion. Lo and behold, our government has already spent Rs100 billion on the project.

What went wrong? Did the price of civil works go up by 2.7 times? Did the price of utility works go up by 2.7 times? Did the price of building works go up by 2.7 times? Did the price of air navigation facilities go up by 2.7 times? Did the price of aeronautical ground lighting go up by 2.7 times? Did the price of water supply system go up by 2.7 times? Did the price of power supply system go up by 2.7 times? Did the price of sewage treatment system go up by 2.7 times?

The accumulated so-called ‘cost overrun’ for these three projects stands at a colossal Rs600 billion, and this cost overrun amounts to Rs20,000 for each and every Pakistani family. Just imagine: we allocate Rs920 billion for the defence budget and the cost overrun for just three mega projects is 65 percent of the defence budget. IOW : The Politicians' MUST have been SHARED WITH THE MILITARY! NATURALLY!!

See, we have a rule book and we just threw it at the bad colonel)

Pashtun Tahafuz Movement's (PTM) grand gathering in Peshawar kicked off on Sunday afternoon with the speakers demanding the release of missing persons as well as provision of basic human rights to the Pakhtun community in Pakistan (note - not full human rights but just the basic ones will do).

People numbering in thousands...intermittently chanted the slogan da sang azadi da (what kind of freedom is this) — their movement's rallying cry.

A US diplomat hit and killed a motorcyclist as he jumped traffic signals in Islamabad on Saturday. Police said Colonel Joseph Emanuel Hall, defence and air attaché at the US Embassy, hit the motorcyclists at a traffic signal at the intersection of Margalla Road and 7th Avenue at around 3pm.“The traffic signal was red but he broke it and hit the motorcyclists coming from other side,” a senior police officer told The Express Tribune. Police said there were two youngsters on the motorcycle, one of whom died on the spot while the other sustained injuries. Making a judgement before full investigations are complete. Typical Paki behaviour !

At the police station, the US official produced his diplomatic card issued by the Foreign Office as well as his driving licence. Police also contacted the US Embassy which sent its security chief to the police station.“We have impounded his car and have also kept his diplomatic card and driving licence. We informed the Foreign Office and handed him over to US Embassy officials as per rules,” another officer said. So, he did not "escape" after scuffle with the police, as one Paki newspaper initially reported. Whipping up Anti- Amreeki sentiments is part of the overall plan, it seems. So much so for "objective" reporting

Meanwhile, the Foreign Office said they were looking into the incident.“An accident involving a US Embassy vehicle occurred in Islamabad. Ministry of Foreign Affairs is looking into the matter. Investigations are being carried out,” tweeted FO spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal. Pakistan needs US Moolah ASAP. Pakistan is in no position to "challenge" Massa ! A few millions of rupees, under the auspices of Sharia Law, will quietly change hands. The Islam Brigade will make some "few noises" . And the case will be closed .

India hints at sabotaging SAARC summit scheduled in Pakistan

India has hinted at pulling out of the 2018 summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) scheduled to be held in Pakistan, reported Radio Pakistan.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi threatened to sabotage the summit or pull away from the initiative altogether while meeting his Nepalese counterpart KP Sharma Oli in New Delhi on Saturday. Premier Sharma is currently in India on a three-day visit.

NDTV quoted Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale as saying that it is not possible to proceed with Saarc “under present circumstances”. Pakistan, because of its paranoia nature, "smells" an Indian hand under anything !

Saarc protocol dictates that summits be held by member states in alphabetical order, while the state hosting the meeting also assumes the chair of the association.

The last summit was held in Kathmandu in 2014. The following meeting, expected to take place in Islamabad in 2016, had to be postponed after some members, led by India, pulled out from the summit. According to NDTV, the summit was called off after Bangladesh, Bhutan and Afghanistan also declined to participate in the Islamabad meet. Remains to be seen if the 2018 Meet meets the same fate as that of the 2016 . Keeping them guessing till the "last minute" should be the mantra of Modi

ISLAMABAD: The government is working on a draft bill to replace the presidential ordinance that banned Jamaatud Dawa as well as other organisations and individuals on the watch list of the interior ministry.Sources in the law ministry told Dawn that the proposed draft bill to amend the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), 1997 was likely to be tabled in the upcoming session of the National Assembly scheduled to commence on April 9 (tomorrow). The law ministry was involved in the process for the purpose of vetting the proposed draft bill, the sources said, adding that the military establishment was also on board. Is the Real Govt ( Deep State ) on board with this radical shift

In addition to the draft bill, which is likely to be tabled in the upcoming NA session, Pakistan is preparing a consolidated database of known terrorists and terrorist organisations which will be accessible to financial institutions and law-enforcement agencies of the country to strengthen the regime against money laundering and terror financing. Might be the result of the FATF Danda and to "escape" the dread Black List. How and if it will be implemented is anybody's guess. !

When contacted, Barrister Zafarullah Khan, special assistant to the prime minister, said that the amendment to the ATA was a subject of the interior ministry. He added the law would not introduce anything new, as it would basically ensure compliance to the UNSC Resolutions. Pakistan's ultimate aim is to mollify Massa and get some financial relief from the present stress !

New counter terrorism force police station to be established in capital

ISLAMABAD: The capital police have been granted permission to establish a Police Station Counter Terrorism Force (CTF) along the lines of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Punjab.The CTF police station will have the Islamabad Capital Territory area under its jurisdiction.

According to police sources, only the appointment of officials — including a station house officer, additional SHO and the moharar — is required to make the station operational.All the cases registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act will be registered by this station as will cases of sectarianism and soon all pending terrorism and sectarian cases will be transferred to this station for investigation. Seems like another attempt to silence political dissent ( like the Pakhtun Movement ) under the guise of "fighting terrorism !

The station will have 50 officials including inspectors, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, head constables and constables, the IGP said and that it will be equipped with a high-tech surveillance system worth millions of rupees as well as modern weapons. ( From China under CPEC ) The IGP said high-tech and torture free investigation rooms are also available at this police station along the lines of international investigation standards. He said the new force is established on the pattern of the Punjab CTD and that the aim of assembling the force is to combat real terrorism and sectarian cases effectively and with modern and sophisticated technology.
