a copy of a copy.

Dont think its copy they made it and its not rocket science either but S-300 were first made around 1980 and many models and types of guidance and range inprovement existed.

The Iran one seems to have a PESA radar and SARH guidance.

Pantsyr and tor are standalone i think
Buk may be capable of multi level networking
But i dont think they sre considered part of s300 or 400

There is overlap of buks missiles with smaller sized missiles of s300

Among other roles these three cats act as close in defence for the big dog s300/400/500

The tor is best suited of the three to anti cruise missile role and going after low flyers and helicopters/drones

All SAMS are integrated Pantsir , BUK , Tor without integration they cant work as IADS, integration of SAM has been hall mark of any SAM since 60's at different level , how they differ today is the quality of data they provide in real time , IFF , target distribution amongst batteries and sensor fusion of data from all SAMs & Radar is something more modern SAM does far more effectively.

Even SAA SAMs are integrated but its not a dense layer and Israel AF has the option to pick and choose what it wants to hit at the time and convienence of its choosing , SAM are defency platform after all and most times it has to deal with Stand Off weapons far beyond its reach of the platform that fires.

Even if the SAM intercepts 8 out of 10 and 2 hits a factory or Ammo depot it is enough to blow out the entire depot due to secondary explosion from ammos. Most successfuly interception from SAA SAM is defending the AB because out there there is low probability of secondary explosion and hangers are hardened and far apart.

SAA is in really bad shape when it just has to defend all the time at a time convinient for iSrael to attack the targets and no way for SAA to retliate against Israel AB or Aircraft in lebanon airspace.

Ofcourse IAF has all the bragging rights there but those stastics wont be too way off , They have been efectively picking and choosing their targets and attacking them .....I suspect they are only saved from complete surprise by advanced warning from Russian Radar. its not easy to track an Israel Jet in Lebanon airspace where Allied AF are flying in dozens , they can easily masquerade

Note the Israel source says they are trying to hide from Russian Radars in that link

Throughout this complex era, Israel and Russia have succeeded in avoiding unintended clashes. “The Russians know very well that the IDF hasn’t come to attack Russia,” said the source.

At the same time, the arrival of advanced Russian radars in the region means that the IAF has to work harder to remain out of sight.

The IAF has learned to fly in “a way, that we won’t be noticed,” he said. These conditions have “actually made us better. … Things have developed much faster than we thought they would have.”

all they have hit until now is an s200/pantsyr radar when its operator was going to reload the missile. That is their most successful hit so far. Rest is morale boosting for isis and nusra and claiming 'all iz well' and their tactics are so smart that they fooled everybody. Israel has also lost an f-16 and an f-15 during that raid if which they are mum so far being afraid to lose their macho image in a very image conscious region. Those planes spluttered back into Israel in bits and pieces and they claimed it was due to malfunction.

Apparently the destroyed radar (it was in homs) has been replaced with brand new air defence system which was targeted today by Israel which launched a missile attack at homs on may 25.

https://www.businessinsider.in/Israel-r ... 310732.cms

this was repelled effectively and they managed to hit zero. This new air defence equipment installed at homs is believed to be Iranian in origin and maybe the hq-9 clone locally manufactured in Iran exported to Syria. The system is yet to get operational and it will take a few more hours to be completely operationalised. The Israeli missile attack was thus repelled by shilkas or some short range SAM

there were a lot of comments on the Russian S-500 live test that happened few weeks ago that was a clear success, hitting a target 450+kms away. In Sochi President Putin and the russian high command agreed to move toward the serial production of S-500 which may indicate that Russia will have plenty of S-500 by 2020, thereby freeing up dozens of S300-S400 to be sold to many countries with prompt delivery to partners and allies.

The mountains along lebanon syria border and golan heights make it tough to track idfaf unless one has awacs or radars on tall mountains in syria which they dont

They might also be using fake civilian transponders of chartered planes and using marked airlanes or tailing small civilian chartered ac to mask movements
They can also hide alongside large nato transports or tankers over jordan and east of euphrates

Russia does not have long range 3d radars in deir azzor and sweida /t4 which would ne required to monitor these areas

Perhaps syrians will seek persian sinic ylc type 3d radars soon

al masdar news

The Russian Defense Ministry has denied reports on an alleged interception of an Israeli F-16 fighter jet by a Russian Su-34 aircraft, stating that the country’s aircraft do not conduct missions in Lebanese airspace.

“The information spread by one of the Israeli news outlets about an alleged ‘interception’ of two Israeli F-16s by a Russian Su-34 in Lebanese airspace is amateur nonsense,” the Russian Defense Ministry stated.

The ministry specified that “the Su-34 multirole bombers, which belong to the Russian air group in Syria, are not used for flights to intercept aerial targets and do not perform tasks in the airspace of Lebanon.”

The comment follows reports earlier in the day in Israeli, Lebanese and Russian media outlets, claiming that the two Israeli Air Force jets had been challenged by a Sukhoi Su-34 bomber over Tripoli and forced away.

The presence of the Israeli aircraft in Lebanese airspace was reportedly connected with reconnaissance missions. At the same time, the media explained the actions of the Russian bomber as being a part of drills, reportedly taking place off the coast of Lebanon and Syria. The media claimed that the Russian bomber was forced to land due to bad weather conditions.

to nobody's surprise

https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/is ... ia-lavrov/

slamic State-related groups have stepped up their activity in the area of Al-Tanf, controlled by the United States, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a news conference on Monday.

“We have gathered much evidence some strange things are happening in Al-Tanf. In our point of view this area is of no considerable significance for the anti-terrorist operation. In practice we can see that in this area, including the Rukban refugee camp, armed groups appear ever more often and, according to our sources, they have connections with the Islamic State.”

,,,,,

Agreements concerning the southern de-escalation zone in Syria imply that only Syrian government forces can remain on the border with Israel, Lavrov said, commenting on Israeli media reports about Moscow’s plans to ask Iran to pull its units back from the Syrian-Israeli border.

“In the end, only Syrian government forces must remain on the country’s border with Israel,” the Russian top diplomat said.

He pointed out that the 2017 agreements on setting up a de-escalation zone along the Syrian-Israeli border implied that all foreign troops must pull out of the area.

On Sunday, Israel’s Haaretz newspaper wrote that Moscow may convince Iran to pull its troops back 60 kilometers from Syria’s border with Israel.

Sounds like Putin garu is enforcing a nuanced foreign policy for de-escalation in Syria. Is this simply a backdown in the face of the Y-Y-NATO, or is there a significant payoff expected, as in surrender/sellout of all the Mod-aerated Beheaders? Putin cannot hope to co-opt Israel as he did with Turkey, the ties go far too deeply with much of DupleeCity being controlled by puppet strings from ****Salem. OTOH, it is hard to imagine Israel getting away with an outright threat to bomb Latakia/Hyenim. Actually if that were to happen, I don't think Putin can afford to launch a conventional attack on Israel - a full-scale conflagration would see NATO ganging up and destroying the entire Russian expeditionary forces as well as the fleet, and ruining the party even in Crimea. OTOH, Putin's threat to use strategic weapons against Israel would be toothless on 2 counts: a) toothless in the face of US new clear detergent and b) counter-productive because Israel is a strong al-lie in checkmating much of the Ummah dreams of global domination.

Interesting if Putin can force an Israel-Syria peace, leaving Russia free to demand total pullout of US-NATO from Syria. That would leave Jordan in questionable status. Iraq-Iran-Syria-Turkey-Qatar would form a substantial Blue-Green Crescent against the US-Saudis, and probably cause collapse of the Yemeni disaster. Which would leave most of the Gelf tottering. IMO Eleven will take over the arming of Eyeran just to biss off the YooEss - and complete the process of :P at the loundeye yindoos. Eleven's policies towards the Ummah are a bit unfocused compared to the kindness and gentleness displayed in Uighuristan. I wonder how that will evolve.

With the end of the Syrian Color Revolution in sight, will the geniuses in DupleeCity turn to funding the Chechnyan terrorists? So many tens of thousands of ATGMs and ManPADS, so few terrorists left any more! :((

” Edy Cohen, an Israeli academic and analyst, has blamed the Jewish lobby for the recent volatility of the exchange rate between the Turkish lira and the US dollar.

Cohen, a faculty member at Israel’s Bar-Ilan University and an analyst at the Begin-Sadat Centre for Strategic Studies, tweeted the remarks in Arabic accompanied by the hashtag, “support the Turkish lira”.

The Turkish lira has fallen to its lowest level in Turkey’s history,” Cohen said, going on to claim that the sudden decline had happened shortly after the Israeli ambassador was insulted at an Istanbul airport as he prepared to depart the country.

Addressing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Cohen said: “Don’t you know that half of the world’s wealth belongs to only one Jewish family, which is Israel’s primary supporter?”

Below is a recent (few hours) update from Pepe Escobar on the likely fate of MbS:

Pepe: “Here’s my top close to the House of Saud source, minutes ago: ”

“What may have happened is that MbS is dead and they are working out the removal of King Salman which takes time. All he has to do is face the cameras to show he is alive rather than issue pictures that may have been taken months ago. While the struggle for control takes place, no one is talking. Mohammed bin Nayef should be the next king who was our protege. Nayef was under house arrest before the issue of the shooting of MbS came up.”

ISIS (jaish al-Khaled bin al-Waleed) count 1500 in 200 sqkm. In Ghouta, there were 30,000 Jihadists & the Syrian Army took it back without help from any allied ground forces. Thus SAA is capable of liberating Daraa (half is in Syrian Army’s control) & Qunietra alone all by itself.

Russian Military Police arrested several NDF fighters who were trying to loot some civilian houses in Bibila south of Damascus

reports have been dropping in that families that tried to go back to their homes in ghouta but were being denied access by the army (they say they are syrian military but who really knows) because they said it was not safe yet and was being cleared, but when some civilians finally went back to their homes they found it was looted of all furniture and appliances, and then one of them at a market one day, saw his stuff being sold and confronted the seller who told him to take a hike and that the stuff was being sold to help with the opposition cause.

Doubt if they will have much success here. Chechnya has absolutely zero tolerance towards the wahabbi lot. The kadyrov led ruling forces are the rebels who fought against roos in the 90s but now are very tight with putinji.

They assure support to their champion Putin and he lets them be as authoritatively Sufi-Sunni as they want, which means that the Saudi wahabbis types have no go in that part of the world.

the looting is because NDF cadres are not paid for months on top of a already low salary.

and 1000s of families and camp followers of rebels went away to Idlib, leaving property behind, so there is enough abandoned homes to loot.

people are just trying to survive any way they can and feed families...
