I hope BCCI is fully prepared for this legal challenge.

Why is the dispute panel made up of QC and one other? Why not a truly representative panel with members from other ICC member countries, or even non-cricket playing ones to make it truly impartial?

Another "Empty Promise" On Polio Eradication In Pakistan! This Time It Is By No Less Than The Newly "PTI Minted" Doctor President Of Pakiland !

President expects Pakistan to become polio free by next year
The News International
Sept 24, 2018
ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi Monday said Pakistan was expected to become polio-free country by next year as the number of cases reported had been reduced to just four this year against hundreds in the past.
Talking to media after launching three-day nationwide anti-polio campaign, he said all the vaccination teams deserved applause who had been serving to purge the country of this deadly virus despite life threat in certain areas.
Such "encouraging" news has been reported in the past as well !
The health minister said the credit for remarkable reduction in polio cases went to the vaccination teams who had been striving to protect the children from deadly disease. He said Pakistan was one of three polio-endemic countries in the world with Afghanistan and Nigeria being rest two states.
One way of ensuring that the goal of polio eradication is fulfilled is to get the "Mullah Brigade" of Pakiland on board on this "topic". Maybe, a fatwa on this subject might help . Most momeens- specially in the rural and tribal areas - are not "impressed" by the "tall claims of the polio vaccine campaign" . In their warped mind this program is a "conspiracy against Islam" , that the vaccine contains haraam( pig fat ) ingredients, that it is some sort of a birth control measure etc etc . Interestingly, all the three polio infested countries are Malsic majority nations . Maybe, a joint fatwa campaign might help

Apprehensions about CPEC - The Nation

I am not sure if the following report from Financial Times, quoted in the above article, was posted here.
A report in the Financial Times on 5th July filed from Islamabad claimed “Pakistan has asked China to keep lending it money to avert a foreign currency crisis, warning that Beijing’s planned $60bn investment in the South Asian country was at risk if it failed to do so. Officials in Islamabad have warned their Chinese counterparts that if the lending dries up, it could threaten the future of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the cornerstone of President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative. The report also quotes an official source as having said “We had a detailed discussion with the Chinese and we shared our concern. The main issue is that once we are locked in an IMF programme, we will have to make full disclosure of the terms on which China has agreed to build the CPEC.”

The report published in the backdrop of the mounting debt and massive repayments in the future conveniently neglects the nature and strength of relations between China and Pakistan and the role that the former has played during the last six decades in the economic development of the country and strengthening its defence besides supporting its causes at the international level. It gives the impression that the Pakistan government is trying to arm-twist the Chinese for maintaining the flow of financial resources to boost the deteriorating economic situation failing which it will have perforce to fall back to the IMF which may jeopardise some of the projects of CPEC.
FT is a subscription site and I do not have access to the full report.

But, this Paki behaviour is organic and the Chinese should have known it.

Bull$hit walks. Money talks.

Pakis have no clue what possibilities await them at the end of this hearing. By taking this moronic case to the ICC, if they lose, then it will be officially confirmed that bakistan is unsafe, vindictive and untrustworthy. No other nation wants to play cricket with them in that land (except Zimbabwe). India just doesn't want to play with them anywhere, period. Pakis should be happy with the status quo.

Pakidiots! It is like no one in that zoo thinks it through. This will be another failure tagged on to I'm the Dim.

Saudia "Camel Festival" Is Breaking All Kinds Of Guinness Records . Why Cannot Pakistan Do The Same With Their Donkey Festival Held In Badin
Sept 22, 2018
As patron of the Crown Prince Camel Festival, Crown Prince Mohammed was in Taif to oversee the closing ceremony of the festival, and donated SR 10 million to the camel racing field in the city on Saturday. The Crown Prince Camel Festival was named as the largest event of its kind all over the world by the Guinness Book of Records, having broken records after hosting 11,186 races along 787 routes.

Donkey ( Paki) festival concludes
Sept 24, 2018
BADIN - Asia’s largest donkey festival concluded here at Tando Ghulam Ali, district Badin on Sunday.
The festival was organised every year on 11 and 12th of Muharram, in which, thousands of sellers and buyers participate amid to purchase their favourite donkeys.
MBS was kind enough to "grace" the camel festival in Saudia - opening as well as closing ! ( Too much time on his hands? Saudi work ethic ? ) . Why cannot Imran - as PM - do the same ( show his face in Badin at the opening and closing and gain some brownie points with the Sindhis at the expense of Dus Percenti !)

Timing of both "festivals" very interesting

Pakistan seeks more loans from China to avert currency crisis
Islamabad warns return to IMF would put $60bn of Chinese investment at risk
Pakistan has asked China to keep lending it money to avert a foreign currency crisis, warning that Beijing’s planned $60bn investment in the south Asian country was at risk if it failed to do so.

Pakistan borrowed $4bn from China in the year ending June 2018, according to government officials, and wants to keep the money flowing to avoid having to ask the IMF for a bailout.

Officials in Islamabad have warned their Chinese counterparts that if the lending dries up, it could threaten the future of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the cornerstone of President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative.

They say that if Pakistan is forced to approach the IMF instead, it may have to disclose details of how the scheme is being funded, and even cancel some of the infrastructure projects already planned.

One Pakistani government official said: “We had a detailed discussion with the Chinese and we shared our concern. The main issue is that once we are locked in an IMF programme, we will have to make full disclosure of the terms on which China has agreed to build the CPEC.”

Another added: “Once the IMF looks at CPEC, they are certain to ask if Pakistan can afford such a large expenditure given our present economic outlook.”

Pakistan’s stocks of foreign reserves have been falling for the past two years, as imports rise and remittances from abroad have fallen. But the slide has gathered pace in recent few months, due in part to higher oil prices pushing up the price of imported goods.

By the beginning of June, the State Bank of Pakistan had just $10bn worth of foreign currency, down from $16.1bn a year earlier and not even enough to cover two months’ worth of imports. The situation is set to become even more urgent in 2019, when $12.7bn of external repayments are due, compared with $7.7bn this year.

Stephen Schwartz, a senior director at the rating agency Fitch, said: “We have elections at the end of July, and the new government will have to immediately draw up further and considerable policies to stabilise the external finances.”

Islamabad has so far avoided having to return to the IMF after exiting its last programme in 2016, in part through Chinese lending, and more recently by devaluing its currency 13 per cent against the dollar.

The dependency on money from Chinese state-backed banks has started to worry some people, who say that the country’s increasingly close economic and military ties with its northern neighbour risk turning it into a de facto client state.

Many in the country have now begun to argue that it should instead face the perceived humiliation of returning to the IMF.

Sakib Sherani, a former adviser to the finance ministry, said Pakistan must raise a further $28bn this financial year to keep up with debt repayments.

“It is vital to restore the market’s confidence in Pakistan’s ability to keep up with its repayments,” he said. “The IMF is the only option to deal with this tough situation.”

Peace provocateurs behind PM Modi’s dialogue debacle

Peace provocateurs behind PM Modi’s dialogue debacle

Modi is not an easy read for the cabals who seek his ear.

Published: 23rd September 2018

By Prabhu Chawla

Diplomacy is the art of deflection and reflection. Modiplomacy is the practice of the unexpected and the unpredictable. Within 25 hours of his announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi abruptly withdrew his gift of dialogue after Pak terrorists slit a BSF jawan’s throat and gouged his eyes out. The next day, they murdered three J&K policemen and ordered others to quit the force or be killed. Pakistan also released postage stamps honouring slain terrorist Burhan Wani as a freedom icon. The new India-Pak romance, which began after Modi agreed to Imran Khan’s request for a foreign ministers meet in the Big Apple on September 27, ended in a crimson embarrassment for South Block.

Modi is not an easy read for the cabals who seek his ear. When expected to go easy, he goes for the kill. Counselled to be hawkish, he gets mawkish. As the bodies piled up in the gory graveyard of Kashmir, the nation expected him to teach Pakistan a lesson. But he decided to give dialogue a chance after Imran Khan ascended the Islamabad throne in July. From rising petroleum prices to the Pakistan paradigm, Modi had defied public anger and chose what he felt was the national interest. Within 24 hours of agreeing to talks, he realised boycotting Pakistan would serve India’s interests the best. The dialogue fiasco exposed the ideological schisms within the Indian establishment. The pro-accord lobby had sneakily persuaded Modi to go for a handshake, which would have deflected attention from terrorist violence in the Valley and undermined his nationalist legacy in Kashmir. Just as the Valley has been infiltrated by India’s enemies, so has a substantial space in the Modi dispensation been covertly colonised by a clique plotting to drive his core constituency away.

The year 2017 was the bloodiest in the Valley this century; 15 civilians and 53 security personnel were reportedly killed in terror attacks in 2013, while the numbers in 2017 were 40 civilians and 80 security men. Indian forces have eliminated more terrorists than last year, but the intensity of the bloodletting shows no signs of dialling down. In line with the prevailing mood, Indian ministers had ruled out cross-border conversation. Just before the Pakistan elections, foreign minister Sushma Swaraj was quoted as saying, “There cannot be any comprehensive dialogue with Pakistan till it shuns terrorism.” She was firm that “talks were not appropriate while people are dying on the border”. Just a couple of days before Imran’s letter to Modi arrived, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman declared, “Terror cannot go along with talks. Ceasefire violations continue to happen and non-state actors are also trying to infiltrate our borders”. Subsequently, similar views were expressed by senior officials, including from the external affairs ministry, who were aware of the deteriorating border situation. According to Home Ministry records, 724 incidents of ceasefire violation took place during 2017 as against 247 in 2013 and barely 70 in 2010.

As the waters of the Jhelum turned deeper red with the blood of innocents, discreet but determined efforts were on in both countries and foreign capitals to bring India and Pakistan back to the talks table. The momentum picked up soon after the Pak elections were over. To dispel Imran’s image as an Army stooge, his sponsors were determined to establish and stabilise the playboy cricketer-turned-politician as a credible force. Imran is a member of the “People like Us” elite. He is also the 33rd richest Pakistani. The rapid sequence of diplomatic initiatives that followed his victory gave enough indication of the new contours of a secret Indo-Pak romance. A look at the turn of events:

*July 26: Pakistan election results start pouring in. As expected, Imran’s PTI emerges as the single largest party. There is little enthusiasm inside and outside Pakistan for an outfit seen as a Pak army proxy. On the day of his big win, Imran declares, “If they take one step towards us, we will take two, but at least need a start. Kashmiris are suffering for long. We have to solve Kashmir issue by sitting across the table. If India’s leadership is willing, then both of us can solve this issue through dialogue. It will be good for the subcontinent also”.
July 30: Ignoring Imran’s Kashmir bombast, Modi phones in his congratulations and tells Imran, “India desires a prosperous and progressive Pakistan at peace with its neighbours. We hope that the new government of Pakistan will work constructively to build a safe, stable, secure and developed South Asia free of terror and violence.”

*August 10: The Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ajay Bisaria, and his deputy meet Imran in the presence of senior PTI leaders, including former Pak foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who is charged with taking the dialogue forward.
*August 18: After Imran formally takes over in Islamabad, Modi writes to him, saying: “We hope that the new government of Pakistan will work constructively to build a safe, stable, secure and developed South Asia free of terror and violence.” The letter isn’t made public immediately in India. (Nor have the full contents been shared in full.) It is left to Qureshi to interpret its intent. His initial claim was Modi’s epistle was an offer for a dialogue, but the Pak foreign office contradicted the statement afterwards.
*September 17: A letter dated September 14 by Imran Khan is delivered to the Indian government. Before it could react, the text was leaked to the media.

Surprisingly, Imran makes Kashmir the fulcrum of the meeting’s agenda. In his 289-word letter, 45 words concern Kashmir. The third paragraph says, “Bridges and Developing Ties: Pakistan and India have an undeniably challenging relationship. We, however, owe it to our peoples, especially the future generations, to peacefully resolve all outstanding issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, to bridge differences and achieve a mutually beneficial outcome. Siachin and Sir Creek also need close attention to move towards resolution.” He adds, “Pakistan is ready to discuss terrorism.”
*September 18. India swiftly accepts his request. “I can confirm that on the request from the Pakistani side, a meeting between the two foreign ministers will take place on the sidelines of the UNGA at a mutually convenient date and time,” MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tells the media.
*September 21. The government announces cancellation of the talks as Imran had not given up his “evil agenda”, as if he was a pious personality earlier.

Once again, good faith has been exploited by the provocateurs of peace embedded in the policy superstructure. Modi must never forget that the tragic terrain of Indo-Pak relations is a minefield of misery created by the Pak Army and ISI. Imran’s disingenuous image as Pakistan’s neo-moral force is an avoidable trap, which Modi has sidestepped just in time. The Indian prime minister would be facing some tough questions on his run for a second term in 2019. A tangled tango with a failed state like Pakistan is a suicidal step. The aborted Pak misadventure was obviously scripted by Modi’s enemies within whose plan is to destroy the idea of Moditva.

Immy's Threatening Language Toward India Has The Backing Of The Paki Fauj : Paki Anal-ists

PM Khan’s language toward India “strange and significant,” analysts say
Arab News
Naimat Khan
Sept 24, 2018
KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent comments after his overture of peace talks with India amounted to a “strange and significant” statement nothing like anything from his predecessors, former military officers, and senior analysts have said.
Imran's "honeymoon" is not yet over . His moo tor jawab to India in La-Whore today is "highly appreciated" by the Aam Abduls
Addressing government officials in Lahore on Sunday, PM Khan said that his country will not accept any act of hostility and will respond in kind if it comes to that. “Our wish for peace should not be mistaken as a sign of weakness,” he told bureaucrats of the Punjab government. His statement came a day after the Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat threatened Islamabad with “retaliation” for allegedly killing a border guard and policemen in Indian-administered Kashmir. Any attack on Paki Echendee will not be tolerated . An adequate (verbal onlee ) response has been delivered by the Paki PM !
“Prime Minister Imran Khan speaks from his mind,” Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry told Arab News.
This is Imran's mouthpiece AKA Information minister of Pakiland speaking !
A day earlier, PM Khan in a tweet said he was disappointed at what he described as “the arrogant and negative response by India” to his call for the resumption of the peace dialogue.“The statement from PM Khan is a statement from the nation. This specific statement, and all other statements made by Imran Khan, are reflective of the true feelings of his nation,” the information minister added.
This is the same minister who was ridiculed by the Paki media by "defending" Immy's heli commute from Bani Gala saying that this is "less expensive" than by a car !
The tweet and address in Lahore invited reaction from the other side of the border. Former External Affairs Minister of India Shashi Tharoor said Khan had a “fairly clear level of military backing” and he “could be a wonderful face for peace or an effective voice for hostility, depending on what the army wants of him.”
Just a few weeks back, the Fauj was sending peace feelers to India ( for tactical reasons !) but now the attack on their H&D cannot be let unanswered hence the Kaptaan's tweet !
Former military officers and defense experts in Pakistan, however, do not agree.
Tharoor is an eloquent orator and well-read commentator on regional issues but citing the age-old Indian rhetoric seems quite odd, said the Karachi-based defense analyst Waheed Akhter Bukhari.
“His whole argument relying on the ‘army running the show in Pakistan and civilian leadership being under their watchful eyes’ rhetoric is, in fact, an insult to the capabilities of ‘his longtime friend’ Imran Khan,” he said.
Tharoor a "longtime friend of the Kaptaan, "
Khan is the first prime minister of Pakistan and among the very few people of his generation to have a Twitter account, and he uses it regularly, said senior analyst Shahzad Chaudhry, adding that what Khan expressed hadn’t come from anywhere else.
Who can forget Imran's twitting and of course his SEXTING ( contact Ayesha Gulalai for further details  ) as well . Additional information on Imran's various mobile accounts can of course be obtained by downloading ( or buying paper copy -if you are "old tech" ) Reham's gossipy book
“India, in contradiction of the diplomatic norms, used very harsh language by saying that the ‘true face of Imran Khan has been exposed’ in response to his peace overture,” Chaudhry told Arab News. This, Chaudhry said, led the Pakistani premier to tweet the harsh statement but it was still not as harsh as it was interpreted by some in India and Pakistan. So, the "offer" of talks still stands ! Indian Foreign Office should do the needful !
Major General (rtd.) Ejaz Awan, a senior defense analyst, said previous governments were extra-diplomatic toward India but this time “the political and military leadership are on the same page.”

This is one reason why I don't want to read oped from our star journo.

No, 2017 was not the bloodiest. The journo think "this century" started in 2010.

The bloodiest years were 2001-02. It was more than 10-15 times than 40 civilians+80 services.

This peace talk nonsense obviously took a life on of it's own because of us. Paks send the usual aman ka thamasha, which they do every month. This time, because a new joker is in power, they send it on a A4 size paper. expecting India to reject it as usual and take the moral high ground.

Jokers on our side decided to accept it. This set the PA tail on fire. PA never really wanted it to happen and went about killing our people to stop it.

Because of our stupidity, men had to loose their life. It dawn on GoI the trick player by PA and cancelled the talks.

Imran Khan Diplomatic Blunder (s)

Not failing; only flailing
The News International
Syed Talat Hussain
Sept 24, 2018
Like a runaway train, the Imran government continues to hurtle down on the trail of policy bloopers across blunder-land. True, the latest one involving the Indian rebuke and cancellation of the proposed foreign ministers’ meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session is not of Islamabad’s making. Delhi’s reasoning – events involving the killing of a BSF soldier, and Burhanuddin Wani’s image on national stamps – is specious.
But the real problem here is not that Delhi has cancelled the talks; it is that the Imran government jumped into the pool of complex diplomacy without wearing any floats or fathoming its depth. The result was bound to be what it turned out to be: a headlong crash to a ground that is littered with realities so obvious that even the blind can see them from a distance.
Quite an indictment !
We don’t know whose bright idea it was to make such a definitive push for engagement with India at this point in time. The subject was neither part of the PTI government’s electoral promise to the nation nor fell into PM Khan’s declared national priority. It never came up during electioneering nor was it ever discussed by Imran Khan in the hundreds of interviews he gave to the media. And when he did speak on the subject, he took an unbending stand that bordered on the ‘India can take a hike’ view. His marauding media mandarins systematically picked on those who did not agree with him and dubbed his critics anti-Pakistan using Modi’s India as a national bogeyman.
Does not Hussain "know" that Imran is also called U Turn Khan
Imran’s entire attack on Nawaz Sharif on the foreign policy front was constructed around the charge that Nawaz was pursuing an agenda that Modi had scripted. Even as he went to cast his vote in Islamabad his impromptu presser in the polling station was centred on the claim that India under Modi did not like him because he was a true Pakistani and by contrast Nawaz was a stooge. For someone with such a harsh outlook on Modi’s India to become a squishy, bleeding-heart peacenik in less than two months in power is something of an enigma
Does not Hussain "know" that Imran is also called U Turn Khan
Other than the perfunctory congratulatory letter containing a most general expression of goodwill, the policy parameters of Modi’s India have remained unchanged. Internationally, the Modi government continues to work overtime to isolate Pakistan.
And in the opinion of many, it has succeeded !
The famous hug Mr Sidhu had with the army chief in Pakistan became an albatross around the visitor’s neck. He became a topic of cruel analyses back home and faced a barrage of traitor charges. That episode alone should have indicated to anyone interested in learning about the prevalent mood in India that this wasn’t the time to make peace overtures (hardly rocket science).
Do not blame Immy for this . It is the fauj who made him do it
And yet a full-blown peace move was made in the shape of PM Imran Khan’s letter, which, among other things, tried to evoke Wilsonian idealism for the region. This and another letter by the foreign minister were both revealed by Delhi, against the total and scandalous silence maintained in Islamabad on the matter. Did the Imran government really think that a few lines penned in spurious hope, laced with archaic English and slipped across the border in stealth, would change India’s policy towards Pakistan? Apparently, it did think that and in so thinking it was encouraged in no less measure by the idea that a regional peace push would also ease Washington’s pressure and create space on other fronts like Afghanistan.
This all may be explained by the Malsi concept of Taqqiya, but then Pakiland is also facing tremendous financial upheaval these days so much so that it took the initiative of "inviting" Saudia into CPEC ( not its own - and without Chini approval !) just to get a "promise" from S.A. that it will give the sole Islami Atomi Takkat a loan of $ 10 Billion !
The folly of confusing eastern border challenges with our western front ordeals, and using one set of policy to offset trouble brewing on the other, is what lies at the heart of the Imran government’s hasty moves which now have produced a bigger mess than it had hoped to address.
Within 24 hours of celebrating the wisdom of offering a one-sided olive branch (the size of a full tree) to India, the Imran government is now forced to swing to the other extreme of cursing Delhi. What was presented in Pakistan (courtesy a compliant and pliant media) as a door of hope has now become a new iron wall of fresh hate and poison (courtesy a compliant and pliant media).
India has withdrawn the invitation for even a chai -biskoot session.
Now the situation is that Delhi has added a personal dimension to its aversion to any form of dialogue with Islamabad. Other than the mantra about cross-border terrorism, Delhi has focused the blame on the person of the prime minister of Pakistan. For any talks to come about anytime in the future, near or distant, Delhi will now have to either take these words back or the Imran government will have to swallow this personal attack to make space for peace. If neither happens, the idea is practically dead that Islamabad and Delhi – via diplomatic interface – can make South Asia become tension-free. The hope is also gone that Pakistan can have much needed elbow-room in a tight regional situation by engaging Delhi in a constructive dialogue. Delhi has taken the Imran government’s overzealous desire for a handshake as a sign of Pakistan’s weakness and has sprayed vitriol on Islamabad’s face.
This move, like other moves regarding Saudi Arab and even China, was conceived around cups of tea among a handful of fuzzy-headed men averse to debate and keen on quick-fixes and big headlines. Like all such men, they forgot that diplomacy is a landmine – it blows to smithereens those who stomp around it pompously and mindlessly.
The Imran government’s first few weeks in office have been harrowing as far as foreign and defence policy is concerned. Not a week has passed without some crisis or the other hitting the country in the face, creating the usual cycle of news spins and flimsy and forced public explanations. And yet there is no reflection, no stock-taking and no sense of any urgency to debate what’s wrong and where.
This speaks of decision-making chaos and total bewilderment in the corridors of power. From the prime minister’s office into the galleries of the Foreign Office there seems to run one straight line of thoughtlessness. Or incompetence. The nation should hope that these are teething problems which will soon settle down. But this ‘soon’ had better arrive soon since the missteps of today can cause big tumbles tomorrow. The government is not failing. But it sure is flailing. And beyond a certain point, it is hard to tell the difference between the two.
PS: This newspaper , part of the Jang/Geo News is one of the two on the hit list of Deep State ( the other being DAWN Group )

Another Paki Media "Organ" Details The Kaptaan's Five Diplomatic Blunders

5 weeks, 5 blunders: The story of PTI’s diplomacy so far
Ali Warsa
Naya Daur
Sept 24, 2018
I’m writing this article in response to a ludicrous claim made by Dunya News analyst Khawar Ghumman in a recent episode of the program ‘Think Tank’ where the respected analyst claimed that ‘if there’s one department where the new government has been good, it’s the foreign policy’. To qualify his claim, he argued that the government since its inception had tried to mend its ties with India, Afghanistan, US and also issued reassuring statements regarding its commitment with CPEC. I don’t want to get into the debate whether the government has taken such steps or not, the only thing I want to bring up here are some of the foreign policy blunders that the government has committed in such a short time.
War of the Anal-ists
So starting from the oldest, here’s a list of diplomatic disasters committed by PTI government in first five weeks:
Misinterpreting Modi’s letter
On August 20, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told the media in his first press conference after taking oath that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi “has sent a letter in which he congratulated Imran Khan and … he has sent a message to open talks”.
Indian government denied the claim straightaway and Pakistan Foreign Office was thus forced to issue a clarification of Qureshi’s statement, claiming “the foreign minister had said that the Indian Prime Minister in his letter to Imran Khan had also mentioned something similar to what the Foreign Minister elucidated earlier i.e. that the way forward was only through constructive engagement”.
Qureshi has been "backtracking" quite a few statements recently !

Pompeo’s call
Later in August, Imran Khan was congratulated by the American Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on a phone call, immediately after which the government released the information to the media that Pompeo had conveyed best wishes to the new government. However, the release issued by State Department also mentioned that Pompeo had urged Pakistani PM to take strong action against the terrorist entities on its soil. In what could be called a textbook example of the term ‘knee jerk reaction’, Pakistan government not only rejected the statement, it even took the matter up with the US government.
US government stuck with its release. Later, sources within Pakistan Foreign Office told The Nation that the US government had shared the transcript of the telephonic call between the US Secretary of State and Pakistan PM, and it proved that the USDoS’s version of the event was right. The source told The Nation that the government had decided to ‘bury’ the issue.
Pakistan was forced to "eat crow". Specially , the respected "Doctor Saab" from the Paki Foreign Office ( FO, for short !)

Pompeo bowing to Imran Khan
Mike Pompeo visited Pakistan earlier this month and a photo of him bowing before Imran Khan, a gesture that would have normally been taken as a show of respect to the head of the hosting country’s government, was released to the media. TV channels kept flashing the picture on their screens while newspapers published it on their front pages.
The Kaptaan's giant sized ego being massaged . A left over habit from his cricketing days
But the next day, Pompeo was in India, where one of the harshest ever joint statements against Pakistan between India and the US was issued. This is what the Joint Communique said about Pakistan:
“The Ministers denounced any use of terrorist proxies in the region, and in this context, they called on Pakistan to ensure that the territory under its control is not used to launch terrorist attacks on other countries. On the eve of the 10-year anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attack, they called on Pakistan to bring to justice expeditiously the perpetrators of the Mumbai, Pathankot, Uri, and other cross-border terrorist attacks. The Ministers welcomed the launch of a bilateral dialogue on designation of terrorists in 2017, which is strengthening cooperation and action against terrorist groups, including Al-Qa’ida, ISIS, Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, Hizb-ul Mujahideen, the Haqqani Network, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, D-Company, and their affiliates.”
Pakistan can draw succour from the fact that TTP ( A RAA asset! ) has also been mentioned here
So he didn’t really bow, eh!

Adviser to PM tells Financial Times that Pakistan should put CPEC projects on hold for a year
China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is worth around 62 billion dollars and is not only the biggest ever foreign investment in Pakistan’s history but also the biggest investment by China in any country under its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Talking to Financial Times earlier this month, Adviser to PM on Commerce and Industries Abdul Razzak Dawood said that ‘the previous government had done a bad job at negotiating with China on CPEC’. He went on to add that Chinese companies were getting all the tax breaks while Pakistan companies were disadvantaged. “I think we should put everything on hold for a year so we can get our act together,” he added. “Perhaps we can stretch CPEC out over another five years or so.”
This prompted Chinese authorities into action and the government as well as the military high command remained busy throughout the next week giving assurances to the Chinese. Dawood also had to retract his statement, saying it was ‘misquoted’.
Understandable because Dawood is a rookie in Diplomacy . He was "brought in " as "Advisor" by his former employee, Asad Umer, ( "friend" of Imran ) now the Paki Financial Minister ! Dawood is one of the 22 families that "owns" Pakistan - economically speaking

Letter to Indian Prime Minister
Imran Khan and his party repeatedly blamed the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif of being too soft on India. He was often branded ‘Modi ka Yaar’ in talk shows and public meetings by PTI representatives. However, Imran Khan was quick to shed his pre-election rhetoric as soon as he took power and in his victory speech invited India to resolve all the outstanding disputes through dialogue.
But the PTI chairman went a bit too far in the effort as he wrote a letter to Indian PM using direct language, devoid of all diplomatic constraints, and expressed willingness to hold talks on everything, including terrorism and Kashmir. He did not even bother to mention the Kashmiri people or their aspirations in his letter.
The letter was written on September 14 but six days later, after suddenly releasing the copy of the letter to the media, Indian government cancelled the foreign minister level talks that were due to be held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session this week.
While the Indian attitude has been anything but surprising, given its track record under the Modi government, former foreign minister of Pakistan Khawaja Asif was also spot on when he told Dawn that “giving them (India) too much reflects haste on our part to mend fences with India”. He also said that the recent joint communique by India and the US had clearly alleged Pakistan of terrorism and Imran Khan stating in the letter that “Pakistan remains ready to discuss terrorism” was a sign of weakness from our side at this point in particular.
The Chanakya factor
So while we all know that misinformation is the norm for Pakistani media these days, especially when it comes to showering praises on its darling Khan, Mr Ghumman’s statement was a bit over the top, even by his standards.
PS: Reports have now started surfacing in the Paki press that the Pakis are NOT asking for Saudia financial assistance ( AKA loans !) but Saudi INVESTMENT . This suggests that the Saudis are now "not too keen" on "joining" the "gamechanger" CPEC . So Mr Warsi can add a # 6 to his list

Pakistan court summons Nawaz Sharif in treason case over Mumbai attack remarks

The Lahore High Court Monday summoned Nawaz Sharif on October 8 during the hearing of a petition seeking action against the deposed prime minister for claiming that those involved in the 2008 Mumbai terror attack belonged to Pakistan.

Sharif, for the first time in May, publicly acknowledged in an interview to Dawn that militant organisations are active in Pakistan and questioned the policy to allow the "non-state actors" to cross the border and "kill" people in Mumbai.

In the exclusive interview, he had also criticised the apparent delay in the conclusion of the Mumbai attack trial.

The Lahore High Court's three-member bench headed by Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi also issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Dawn journalist Cyril Almeida and ordered placing his name on the Exit Control List.

"Justice Naqvi expressed anger over non-appearance of Almeida in the court, directing the Deputy Inspector General of the Police Punjab to present him in the court on next hearing (October Eighth)," a court official told reporters.

The judge, before summoning Sharif on October 8, also inquired from Sharif's counsel Advocate Naseer Bhutta as why his client did not appear before the court on Monday.

Advocate Bhutta said Sharif would appear in the next hearing as he was mourning the death of his wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz. She died of throat cancer on September 11 in London.

Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, however, appeared before the court.

Petitioner Amina Malik said Sharif, who was disqualified by the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case in July 2017 and subsequently jailed for 10 years in Avenfield corruption case, in an interview to Dawn made the remarks that those involved in the Mumbai attack case actually belonged to Pakistan, thus he committed treason.

The petitioner said the "anti-state" statement of Sharif — a three-time prime minister — could be used against Pakistan by its enemies.

She said a meeting of the National Security Council was held to discuss the 'misleading' statement of the disqualified premier and later then prime minister Abbasi met Sharif and conveyed to him the concerns of the military leadership on his statement.

"The act of Abbasi was also a clear violation of his oath as he was bound not to allow his personal interest to influence his official conduct," the petitioner said.

The court adjourned the hearing till October 8.

Sharif, 68, resigned as Pakistan prime minister last year after the Supreme Court disqualified him from holding public office and ruled that graft cases be filed against the beleaguered leader and his children over the Panama Papers scandal.

The Avenfield case was among the three corruption cases filed against the ex-premier by the National Accountability Bureau on the Supreme Court's orders in the Panama Papers case.

Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Mohammad Safdar were released last week following the suspension of their sentences by the Islamabad High Court in the Avenfield properties corruption case.

Some 166 people were killed in the attack carried out by 10 LeT terrorists. Nine of the attackers were killed by police while lone survivor Ajmal Kasab was caught and hanged after handed down death sentence.

IMF To Visit Pakiland ? . Seems Like Another U Turn Of Imran And His Finance Minister

IMF team to visit Pakistan to review economic reforms
Sept 24, 2018
ISLAMABAD – This week Prime Minister Imran Khan will face the first formal test of his economic policies during a visit by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to review economic reforms and future planning. The IMF team is expected to hold meetings with Finance Minister Asad Umar who has not yet decided over a bailout package, given its balance-of-payments crisis
The way, THIS is being reported here, gives the ( wrong IMO) impression that it is a "buyers market for Pakiland " . They can take it or leave the IMF loan offer , now that the Saudis and the Chinis have "come forward" to "ease their minor financial hiccup "
The delegation is expected to be briefed on the economic situation. It will be apprised of the changes in the federal budget.“We are in discussion with the IMF but this is not to negotiate for a loan. Our purpose is to do our homework, in case we want to approach them at some stage,” the minister said in an interview with Arab News.He remarked that the country is not in an emergency situation ( not to worry it is a "financial hiccup" from eating too much biryani and kebab last nite . No , the rumours are NOT true that Pakistan is suffering from diabetes, heart problem, and kidney failure. ) and is not in a rush to seek a bailout from the monetary fund.
IMO, the below might have triggered the IMF to visit Pakiland ASAP

Asad Umar rejects reports of $10 billion Saudi investment in Pakistan

So, Immy's much TRUMPeted Saudi Mission- where he was accorded a Royal Welcome and The Kabbah Doors was opened just for him - has not been as successful as earlier declared . IF , Umer's statement is to be believed .( Umer rejects reports of $ 10 Billion Saudi Investment ...)
Secondly, we will now have to wait and see if the Chinis are OK in letting the Saudis into THEIR exclusive "CPEC Club" now the "arrogant" Saudis have appeared to have "backtracked" on helping the financially strapped Ummah Brother ( Pakistan )

PS : This is of course all conjecture . It is possible that the Saudis may fulfill their promise of $10 Billion ( however the odds are not in Paki favour !)

Pakis Ratchet Up Propaganda Against India. India Hatred Gone Too Far

Resolution moved in Pakistan for trade embargo with India
Sept 24, 2018
LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Mussarrat Jamshed on Monday tabled a resolution in the Punjab Assembly condemning a statement by the Indian army chief in which the official had threated to take military action against Pakistan.
The resolution, while calling for a trade embargo with India, said Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be mistaken for its weakness. It urged the United Nations, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation member states and other international organisations to take notice of India’s stubborn attitude.
As long as Indian goods - arrive unofficially from Dubai and other Gulf States - and consumed in gusto either by the awaam or Paki factories as raw material- in Pakiland, everything is fine. Mr Mussarrat should start his "adventure" by banning Indian movies from being imported and being shown in Paki cinema houses . Let us see how long the trade embargo will then last

LAHORE - The first lady, Bushra Bibi visited an old age home and an orphanage in the Township area of the city on Sunday.
While Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired various Punjab government meetings almost throughout the day, his wife also spent a busy day. She met the residents of old age home and listened to their problems.
Obviously, the Kaptaan will spend some "quality time" with the priestess in the privacy of their La-Whori kothi

IF This Report Is To Be Believed , Paki Economy Is Going To Face Another Setback Very Very Shortly

Pakistan economy may hit worst blow as nightmare scenario predicted
Sept 24, 2018
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan economy may face a worst blow and nightmare like scenario as the oil prices in the international market are set to touch $100 per barrel.
Pakistan may have to bear an additional bill for billions of dollars if the international oil prices reach $100 billion mark as over 80% of Pakistan oil needs are met with imported oil and fuel.
Not to worry - at least IMHO !
Just the other day, The Saudi Monarch- The Senile (rumours !) Salman ( Head Of The Two Holy Mosques !) assured the Head Of The Only Islami Atomi Takat ( Imran Khan) of his unstinted support . As per the verbal promise given by him (and prominently reported in the Paki Press) the Saudi Monarch has said that he is willing to supply crude oil to Pakistan for the next .... (fill in the blanks ) years at 50% concessional rate.

PS: The Saudis are well known for their bombastic verbal promises . Many diplomatic observers have noted that when it it comes to putting anything on paper , they hesitate ! And even in those cases, when there is an iron clad written agreement, they find some "excuse" to wiggle out of their commitment . The usual reasons given for this runaround are (a) the money is not there (b) the written agreement was signed by "mistake" (c) the agreement needs to be "revised" as conditions have since changed (d) the person signing the agreement did not have the "authority" to sign the agreement . And last but not the least (e) "the cheque is in the mail" excuse
Hope the Pakis do not become victim of these Saudi shenanigans

Qureshi "Complains" To World Bank About India . Qureshi Hints That Pakiland Will Start Its "Own Saarc"

Pakistan raises India's violation of Indus Water Treaty with World Bank
The News International
Sept 24, 2018
NEW YORK: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with World Bank President Jim Yong Kim on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly and raised the issue of the construction of water reservoirs by India in violation of Indus Waters Treaty.
“Water issue should not be politicized ( time for "soft sell" as contrasted to Immy's moo tor jawab  ) and should be dealt as a humanitarian issue,” Qureshi told the World Bank chief on Monday, according to Foreign Office.
In addition, the foreign minister attended a special Ministerial meeting of CICA in New York and congratulated Tajikistan for assuming chairmanship of the CICA and welcomed Sri Lanka as a full member of CICA. Pakistan will continue constructive engagement with CICA, he said.

Is Pakistan shifting away from Saarc and engaging with zionist Israel who is also a member of CICA
He also addressed a meeting of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) contact group on aggression of the Republic of Armenia against Azerbaijan.
Pakistan supports the principled position of Azerbaijan on the Nagorno Karabach issue and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian forces, he added.
"Reckless" Pakistan is burning its bridges with all non - Islamic countries of the world. Just to "curry favour" with Muslim countries  !

C.J.P. And C.O.A.S To Decide Fate Of Ganja

Nawaz Sharif’s fate will be determined by the two chiefs of Pakistan
The Print
Hussain Haqqani
Sept 20, 2018
The Islamabad High Court’s decision to suspend the jail sentence of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam provides temporary relief to the popular duo. But given Pakistan’s judicial history and the enduring pattern of the country’s courts acting as a shill or decoy for the all-powerful military establishment, there will probably be many more twists and turns before this case is eventually laid to rest.
Just today, a new "case" - for treason - was registered by a "citizen" in Lahore against Ganja !
Sharif, his daughter, and son-in-law were convicted hastily by an accountability court ahead of July’s general election, with the obvious purpose of influencing the election’s outcome. The case against them pertained to the ownership of four luxury properties in central London that had come to light in the Panama Papers, which revealed owners of offshore companies.
The "idea" being to make him "unavailabe" for election and clear the field for the Kaptaan ! And as predicted it worked !
The judge who convicted Sharif made it clear in his judgment that the prosecution had presented no evidence of corruption and also that Sharif’s ownership of the properties in question had not been established. But he still convicted him for failing to explain his connection to the properties.
Pressure from the Deep State does wonders !
His daughter, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who could be his political heir, was sentenced to seven years in jail for abetting a crime and one year for not cooperating during investigation while son-in-law Safdar Awan was given a one-year sentence for not cooperating. The convictions barred all three from seeking public office for up to 10 years after release.
For good measure, the daughter was also "removed" .
It was clear to anyone with a modicum of legal knowledge that the judge who convicted them had written his decision in a manner that left room for an easy appeal. The judge was under pressure to convict but realised that the law was not really on the side of the prosecution.
Sharif and his family members appealed against the conviction and also sought suspension of the sentence pending appeal. Section 426 of Pakistan’s Criminal Procedure Code provides for suspension of sentence and grant of bail if a judgment convicting a person suffers from glaring legal errors. The Islamabad High Court identified those glaring errors while suspending the sentence pending hearing of the appeal in detail. While the suspension of sentence does not conclusively decide the question of guilt or innocence of convicts, the errors of the conviction judgment have already been determined.
“The prosecution has failed to show the properties belong to Nawaz Sharif. It also failed to prove how Maryam Nawaz was sentenced under the same charge sheet which convicted Nawaz Sharif,” Justice Athar Minallah pointed out while suspending the Sharifs’ sentence.
Bazaar gossip says that the Sharifs were released due to Saudi pressure !
Given the legal lacuna, it would not be easy for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to make the conviction stand without introducing additional evidence, which might require a fresh trial. But the law does not always matter in Pakistan’s judicial process, which has been subject to political whims for quite some time. Prosecutions involving political figures ignore the universal principle of presumption of innocence, and politicians are often asked to prove their innocence instead of the prosecution proving their guilt.
As long as you are in favour of the Deep State, no mai ka laal can "touch" you. If you cross their "red lines" as Ganja did , your goose is cooked. Immy too, will find this out soon !
he ubiquitous intelligence services often ‘know’ more than they can prove and generate antipathy towards their target through the media even when the legal case is weak and lacks evidence.
Ganja has been demonized as well !
Unlike Justice Shah, the current Chief Justice of Pakistan, Saqib Nisar, does not seem to think of a few bad decisions as the price to pay for other, better judgments. Nisar just does not care about legal niceties at all as long as he is acting ‘in the national interest’.Nisar visits mental health institutions to check on the quality of their wards, kitchen, and medical stores, even though that does not qualify as part of the job description of the Chief Justice in the contemporary era.
He recently raided the hospital room of an undertrial political personality and recovered bottles of alcohol, which remains prohibited in Pakistan. Sindh politicians turned the tables on him ( Nisar is an unabashed Pakjabi . Hates non - Pakjabis with a passion  ) by ensuring that the chemical examination report on the contents of the bottles he discovered showed that they contained honey and olive oil instead of whiskey.
The Chief Justice has also started a project to crowdfund building of dams although neither the constitution nor any statute allows him to do so. With a one billion rupee donation from the Pakistan army, representing two days’ salary of all soldiers, the fund has accumulated Pakistan Rupees 3.7 billion until the writing of this article against a target of Pakistan Rupees 1,722 billion needed to construct the Diamer-Basha Dam.
Am 400% sure that Nisar will "go upstairs" before the Damn Dam is built
Justice Nisar’s lack of interest in providing justice to Pakistani litigants is matched by his ignorance. During a recent court proceeding he made the startling comment that NAB should be tasked with bringing this writer back to Pakistan because “NAB had agreements with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) pertaining to the return of suspects”.
There were unsubstantiated rumours that Nisar is seeking the job of "Chief Legal Commander" in the Saudi Sponsored Coalition after his retirement. Maybe, fellow La-Whori - Raheel - might put in some words to MBS on his behalf
Anyone who has read even a high school-level book or article on the UN knows that UNSC has nothing to do with the extradition of individuals disliked by Chief Justices of member countries.
Sharif’s fate, therefore, will be determined by whether the two chiefs – the Chief Justice and the Chief of Army Staff – can reconcile themselves to having him back in the political arena or not.On the other hand, both chiefs will retire, one in December and the other next year, while Sharif’s political support base will endure. At some point, another Chief Justice and another Army chief will have to deal with that harsh reality.

Dear @ImranKhanPTI perhaps you & more importantly the Deep State in your country need to face such disappointments more often until you see & sense the reality that Pakistan State is despised all around. The solution lies within Pakistan. STOP SPONSORING TERROR & PROXY CONFLICT.

Disappointed at the arrogant & negative response by India to my call for resumption of the peace dialogue. However, all my life I have come across small men occupying big offices who do not have the vision to see the larger picture.

Silencing the minorities, paki style.

Peshawar High Court grants bail to suspects in Charnjeet Singh murder case
The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday granted bail to two men suspected to be involved in the murder of Charnjeet Singh, a social activist and prominent member of the Sikh community in Peshawar.
Why?
However, police have not been able to prove the charges levelled against the suspects.
Singh's family did not record any statement against them and thus the court has given the orders for Tariq and Shehryar on bail.
How could they record any statements against the suspects when they have been asked to shut up or else? I am often at loss to understand why Sikhs continue to live in that country?

By taking this moronic case to the ICC, if they lose, then it will be officially confirmed that bakistan is unsafe, vindictive and untrustworthy. No other nation wants to play cricket with them in that land (except Zimbabwe). India just doesn't want to play with them anywhere, period. Pakis should be happy with the status quo.
I believe the Baki case is not about India (and other countries) refusing to tour there. They are making a case for loss of revenue because we have completely blanked them out of ANY bilateral series with them either in India or on neutral territory. They are banking on some purported MoU between BCCI and PCB and begging for compensation on that basis.

PM Endorsement By Paki 007 Agent Rehman Malik May Prove To Be A Suicide Pill For Rahul Gandhi

Ex-Pakistan minister Rehman Malik targets PM Narendra Modi with 'next PM' Rahul Gandhi's video
Zee News
Sept 24, 2018
After India called off talks foreign secretary level talks with Pakistan, several leaders of the neighbouring country have been vocal in attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pakistani senator and former interior minister Rehman Malik even used a video of Congress chief Rahul Gandhi from a recent press conference on Rafale deal to target the PM.
Calling Rahul the 'next Prime Minister' of the country, he replied to a tweet saying: "Rahul is your next PM as he is talking sense in his pressers.PM Modi is scared of him."
Endorsement by this Sialkoti Ex Minister is similar to administering a suicide pill to Rahul !
Tweeting out a video of Rahul, Malik wrote: "My dear abusers .Watch this presser of Rahul Gandhi - will u also abuse him .He is ur leader and he is also saying the same what I Said .I hope u all have some decency to say sorry to me after watching it."
Before posting Rahul's video, Malik had claimed that he will expose PM Modi. "Let us not abuse PM Modi I will make them cry with the exposures of their misdeeds with his own ppl and other countries. Trust me I will make hard evidence public agst them (sic)," he had tweeted.
In his tweets, Malik also targeted Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat and called him 'lazy'.
Malik "out of favour" with Imran , and "out of a job" as well has decided to stay in Pakiland and follow Indian politics via his mobile
