I also believe that their Champions Trophy victory was a fluke.

No doubt they will spin it to show that they are keeping up with the region, but the reality is that they are falling further and further behind Bangladesh and India.

Peerni "Dabbles" Into Politics ! First Time In My Opinion

Imran Khan, Erdogan only leaders of 21st century, says first lady Bushra Bibi
ISLAMABAD – First Lady Bushra Bibi has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is a very simple and fair person who has no greed ( cocaine, charas, sharab, bedroom games, sexting  ) for anything at all. In her first interview with a private TV Channel on Thursday, Bushra Bibi said, “Everyone says I brought change in Imran Khan’s life, but the reality is that change came in both of us due to each other.”
. I doubt that it would have been sans Burkha
To a question, the first lady said, “Before marrying Imran Khan, people would visit me to seek guidance to be close to Allah Almighty and Prophet (PBUH) but now people come to seek her help to become close to Khan sahib.”
This is as kooky as it can get. But wait, this is a women who feeds meat (aka gosht) to the Djinns at nite time . On the roof of Bani Gala. As per a piece written by Imran's cousin Khaled Ahmed ( Indian Express)
Reply to another question, Bushra Bibi said, “Being a human, Imran Khan is a very simple, fair person and he has absolutely no greed for anything at all.”
She is a peerni. She does not speak ill of anyone ! ( except she used her "influence" with the Deep State/ Imran to transfer the DPO Pakpattan !)
There is a difference between politician and leader, Imran Khan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are only two leaders of this century, said Bushra Bibi.
Is it a mere coincidence that both these "leaders" are followers of Malsi
“Imran Khan will change the fate of Pakistan, he is working hard for the Pakistani nation,” she said and added that however, it takes time to bring change in the country.
Bushra Bibi said, “My veil is my identity.”
So, the "interview" was NOT "without burkha"
The first lady stated that she does not use social media.
The Book says that the wife should be at the beck and call of the husband 24/7 . So, this makes sense IMO
Earlier, the first lady of Pakistan, wife of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, in her first message to the public had said she was more concerned than happy now that her husband has a huge responsibility to fulfil.
She said Imran Khan will come up to the expectations of the people. The position of power comes and goes but the most important factor of Imran’s victory is the responsibilities he now has, she added. However, she further added, Imran’s goal is to eradicate poverty and bring reforms in the health and education sectors of Pakistan.
Not sure whether Immy "fell in love with the Peerni" or the Peerni was always a "secret admirer of the Kaptaan" and had fantasies about him , at the same time that she was married and was carrying on her pir-shir business

Fake News ! Act II

Donald Trump hints at reset between Pakistan US ties
Sept 26, 2018
ISLAMABAD - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met President Donald Trump at a reception in the US on Monday. * :((
They briefly discussed Pak-US relations during a reception hosted by President Trump for world leaders attending the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.
“I met with President Trump at the reception where I expressed my country’s desire to rebuild Pak-US ties. He responded positively to it and intended to [improve] relations between the two countries,” Qureshi told PTV.
The foreign minister also met US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his wife. “A special meeting with Secretary Pompeo is scheduled for October 2.” This was their second meeting within a month. He visited Islamabad earlier this month.
Qureshi said that Pompeo also sent his greetings to Prime Minister Imran Khan. “Send my regards to your leader,” Pompeo told Qureshi.

Paki Journo Cyril Almeida Silenced By Imran !

Pakistan: Journalists should not be harassed or intimidated through criminal justice system
Amnesty International
Sept 27, 2018
Pakistan’s authorities must ensure that the criminal justice system is not used to harass or intimidate journalists, Amnesty International said today.
The human rights organization raised its concern after the Lahore High Court’s decision to issue non-bailable arrest warrants for prominent Pakistani journalist Cyril Almeida and impose a ban on his traveling outside the country.
Cyril Almeida, Assistant Editor at Dawn newspaper, has been summoned by the court for conducting an interview in May 2018 with former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is facing charges of treason for comments he made in the interview alleging a link between the Pakistani military and armed groups.
“Cyril Almeida has simply been doing his job as a journalist. He conducted an interview with a former prime minister and reported what he was told. While the Lahore High Court is entitled to demand his appearance, the authorities must be careful not to use the criminal justice system to harass or intimidate journalists. Journalism is not a crime and journalists doing their work should not be treated as criminals,” said Omar Waraich, Deputy South Asia Director at Amnesty International.
The Lahore High Court says that it is compelling Cyril Almeida to appear before it after issuing repeated notices. The Dawn newspaper, however, says that the first two notices were never delivered and the third only arrived last week.
In 2016, Cyril Almeida and Zaffar Abbas, the editor of Dawn, appeared before a high-level inquiry tribunal that asked them questions about the newspaper article.Over recent months, since Cyril Almeida’s interview with Nawaz Sharif was published, Dawn has seen its circulation heavily disrupted in the country while the newspaper has come under intense pressure for its independent editorial policy. News agents have been warned against stocking the newspaper and street vendors have been harassed and intimidated for selling it.On 7 June 2018, speaking at a meeting of the All Pakistan Newspaper Society in Islamabad, Hameed Haroon, the CEO of the Dawn Media Group warned that Pakistan is “encountering the most dangerous attack” on the right to freedom of expression.
Cyril Almeida is a non Muslim. A Goan Christian . Many momeens have dubbed him as an "Indian Agent". IMO, the fact that he is not a Muslim , and is "criticizing" Pakiland is a major consideration in the issuance of this arrest warrant !

Cross Eyed ( And Corrupt ) Ex Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry Threatens Imran's Information Minister, Fawad Chaudry With Legal Action Under The Sadiq And Ameen Clause ( Sec 62 and Sec 63) Of The Paki Constitution

PTI government is being vindictive against us: Justice (r) Iftikhar Chaudhry
PT
Sept 27, 2018
Former chief justice of Pakistan Justice (r) Iftikhar Chaudhry on Thursday rejected reports of alleged involvement of his son-in-law in the Eden Housing or Bahria Housing scams, claiming that his son-in-law was arrested by Interpol, ( an ex CJP "proudly" admits that his son -in-law is under Interpol custody . Cutting your nose to spite your face syndrome !) and not by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as the government had earlier said.
“FIA has nothing to do with the case,” he said.Earlier on Wednesday, Justice (r) Iftikhar Chaudhry’s son-in-law Murtaza Amjad was arrested from Dubai in a case regarding the multi-billion Eden Housing Society scam, which was termed as a “breakthrough” by the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry.Iftikhar Chaudhry insisted that Amjad had nothing to do with the Eden Housing scam as “he holds Canadian citizenship and does not come to Pakistan”. He alleged that the PTI government was “spreading propaganda” against him because he had challenged Prime Minister Imran Khan’s election in court.
Was son-in-law of "corrupt" Chaudhry arrested by Interpol on the request of the Paki Govt
The former chief justice further said that the high courts in Islamabad and Peshawar had already issued notices to PM Khan and he was also considering to file a disqualification case against the premier in an election tribunal.
Ex CJP claims that Imran is not Sadiq nor Ameen ( siring child out of wedlock !) . He has an uphill battle to climb. This is not to say that he and his son are both "lily clean" . Both have accumulated enough wealth at the expense of the Paki Exchequer

Pakis Being Fed Sick Animals In Imran's Naya Pakistan !
PFA seals three slaughterhouses, seizes 3,600kg meat of sick animals
The Nation
Sept 10, 2018
LAHORE - Meat Safety Teams and Vigilance Cell of the Punjab Food Authority carried out an operation against illegal slaughterhouses and sealed three premises in the provincial metropolis on Sunday.
During the operation, enforcement teams seized 3,600 kilograms of substandard and poor quality meat and later discarded.
Hope to Allah that the rotten meat is not recycled again by The Meat Safety Teams And Vigilance Cell Of The Punjab Food Authority
PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman ( retired faujis hogging all the jobs !) said that illegal slaughterhouses were shut in the area of Bakar Mandi, Allama Iqbal Town and at Chundri Road.
The Punjab Food Authority has decided to introduce a helpline for citizens where they could get free consultation. This was decided at a meeting headed by Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman at his officer on Sunday. Wow! Working on a Sunday will make Jack Usman a dull "boy"
On the occasion, Captain (R) Muhammad Usman said that qualified nutrition experts would be present on the helpline to give their expert advice to callers and answer queries of citizens. He said that consumers will be referred to nutrition clinic for further consultation regarding food-related diseases.
Usman also directed the authority to launch a monthly magazine and to add topics, which directly relate to public awareness issues. He said that sagacious people and society can play a vital role in success of Punjab Food Authority’s mission. The DG directed the Public Awareness Wing to prepare a strategy on it within a week.
The "direction to the authority" will result in the production of a monthly magazine. Who is going to be responsible for the nitty gritty ? where is the paisa going to come from

The morning after - Anjum Altaf

It is a fact that few outside Pakistan consider the most recent electoral exercise to have been even-handed. Even partisans benefiting from the outcome, while offering various justifications, hardly dispute the crux of such objections. Does this come at a price? And, if so, what kind of price?

First, there is a clear loss of institutional credibility. While in the past such developments were attributed to individuals, the narrative this time is depersonalised and centred on institutional symbols. There are slogans in the air that have never been heard before.

Second, there are many Pakistanis who see some immense good happening because the previous dispensation was allegedly so corrupt and anti-national that five more years for them would have spelled disaster for the country. So this predicament arguably legitimised the replacement of the predecessors with an upright and patriotic team. If the expectations of this segment of the population are proven to be wrong yet again, it could lead to a crisis of credibility for the power structure. Third, the probability that the above-mentioned expectations are fulfilled is not very high.

Leave aside the fact that the new dispensation is peopled largely by the same individuals who were part of the erstwhile lot of the corrupt, and subscribe, for the sake of argument, to the comforting myth that an honest leader can keep them in check. Nevertheless, there is no escaping the reality that no leader, however upright personally, can defy the structural imperatives that define a system and circumscribe the room for manoeuvre.

To start with, there are structural imperatives that push from below in a society characterised by widespread poverty and the dependence of the many on the few for rights and entitlements. With a parliamentary system, and the majority of electoral constituencies having a dominant rural vote, such a configuration cannot but throw up the kinds of power brokers now characterised as ‘electables.’ The motivations of such representatives, who have dominated Pakistani politics throughout, are well known and they do not barter their loyalties for free. Let us assume, however, that a truly great leader can keep them in check.

But then there are structural imperatives from above. A leader beholden to the power elite cannot but acquiesce to its dictates – which means that foreign and defence policies could remain out of bounds. At the same time, if the leader is not inclined to take on the theocracy, the internal dynamics are unlikely to change, if not become more dangerous (consider the abject surrender on Atif Mian). Add to this the constraints that would accompany the recourse to the IMF that has already been signalled as inevitable, and the fiscal vice would tighten some more.

Pakistani politicians stand very much reduced to the status of princes in pre-Independence India who were rulers only in name while power was exercised by the British; they can revel and indulge their egos in their restricted domains while the real business is conducted elsewhere. I. O. W. At the Army H.Q,

It is not the fault of the politicians, just a reflection of the reality on the ground. To their credit, the princes left us a glorious cultural heritage of art, poetry and music that continues to enrich our lives and provide solace in trying times. Our politicians have focused on enriching themselves and adding concrete to our lives. Imran Khan may make different choices but he would nevertheless be operating at the margins, turning opulent rest houses into hotels and colleges.

This is ironic because the broad framework outlined by Imran Khan points in the right direction – the country can move ahead only if it prioritises the productive uplift of the bottom forty percent and invests heavily in its security and human capital. But will there be enough left to do that after satisfying the obligations of all the paymasters listed above – defence, debt repayments, conditionalities, luxury imports, political payoffs, and the inevitable leakages – which would leave the kitty bare and beyond the reach of minor austerities and absurdities like forbidding cheese and inviting donations to build dams?

When Imran Khan recognises these constraints, as he inevitably will, and attempts to wriggle free of any of them, he will face the same reality as all those who have had the crown placed on their heads before him. And so one might expect the cycle to repeat and the status quo sustained. But there might well be an accompanying downward drift with the continued erosion of institutions and their loss of credibility. Already, we are in a surreal situation in which every organ of the state is carrying out functions intended for another. This is not a lasting arrangement and the lost time in which competing economies move further ahead could exert an enormous toll.

Pakistan has a very young population, one that is poorly educated and trained and which is looking for employment to survive. What will happen when its dreams dissolve and its survival is at stake? I suppose one could tell them to go climb one of the trees that might be sprouting by that time.

On the other hand, the descent into anarchy could accelerate. The power elite would flee to foreign abodes – Dubai, Jeddah, Paris, London – and the parties that have been mainstreamed as part of electoral engineering would step in to destroy the old and rotting system once and for all. This might well be a triumph that could bear the mark of a colossal tragedy in the making.

Every drop counts: Water shortage drying out crops in Rahim Yar Khan

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Rahim Yar Khan is the in grip of a severe water crisis and the situation is worsening with each passing day. The shortage of water has not only affected local residents, but also destroyed crops in various regions.

A survey by Express News revealed that the approved water supply of 15,000 cusecs to Head Banjand and the Shashmahi streams annually has been decreased to 5,500 cusecs. As a result, 48 small and large streams have been closed, thus affecting different crops including cotton.

Earlier, the irrigation department hinted at stopping the water supply to the streams in the month of October owing to the water shortage of 10,000 cusecs. In view of the current situation, the farmers have initiated a ‘Save Farmers Movement’ across the district.

Rahim Yar Khan has been facing a shortage of water for the past eight months. As the streams did not receive enough water, the cultivation of cotton, sugarcane and rice on 300,000 to 400,000 acres of land could not take place during the current Kharif season.

Of the remaining 1,100,000 acre, cotton has been cultivated on 475,000 acres, sugarcane on 600,000 acres and rice on 80,000 acres. All the crops have now entered the production phase. However, due to the severe water crisis, they are facing the threat drying out.

The approved water from the Banjand Main Canal to the Abbasia Link Canal and Shashmahi streams is 15,000 cusecs, but there is a continuous shortage of 10,000 cusecs. Water scarcity has already destroyed cotton, sugarcane, rice and fodder crops that have been cultivated on hundreds of acre of land. To make matters worse, 70% of agriculture land is affected by saline underground water that has also played a key role in damaging the crops.

In this regard, the farming community held a meeting to devise a strategy to deal with the situation. The meeting approved a unanimous resolution, calling for providing the district with the stream water in the next two to three months and putting an end to water theft from Chinni Goth to Head Qasim. The water theft is estimated to be 1,500 cusecs.

The farmers said that stream water is not being provided to the vast Cholistan area that is linked with Chinni Goth from Head Qasim’s Abbasia Link Canal. They maintained that for the past 10 years, water is being extracted from large streams, resulting in a water shortage for Rahim Yar Khan.

The farming community has appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan, prime minister and the army chief that water be provided immediately to the district so that crops in the region can be saved from destruction.

When contacted, Member Provincial Assembly Haji Arshad told Express News that if the shortage of water persists, 20 tonnes of cotton and 300 tonnes of sugarcane will be reduced per acre. “The rice crops and crops that serve as the fodder for animals will be completely destroyed,” he mentioned.

He said that the chief justice and prime minister should also take steps to address the shortage of water in the streams on an emergency basis.

Meanwhile, Irrigation official Ghulam Mustafa Baloch said that due to shortage of water in dams and rivers, the region’s share is not being received. However, he claimed the department is providing water to the region as per the Warabandi schedule (rotational method for equitable distribution of water)

Djinns again, in the land that D'jinnah founded.

Return of the jinns
The Air University, a public research university established by the Pakistan Air Force, held a seminar at its Islamabad campus in April this year to discuss jinns and the role of the occult in society.
This widely-advertised event was presided over by ‘spiritual cardiologist’ Raja Ziaul Haq, who describes himself on his social media page as a “FUNdamentalist”.
This, of course, is not the first seminar about jinns. Others have been held over the years. Some were held as far back as in the era of General Ziaul Haq, who bizarrely attempted to introduce ‘Islamic science’ and promote theories under which energy harnessed from jinns could be used to fulfil our fuel shortage and resolve other issues.
Perhaps the third Mrs Imran Khan – who, according to reports, is able to summon jinns – could come to their assistance in this urgent matter.
Jokes also appear everywhere about using jinns to build the Diamer-Basha Dam or other projects at a far faster pace than what would be possible from the donations collected from people across the country. In fact, the concept of black magic, jinns and other forces has come back to campuses across Pakistan with something of a bang – like a genie released from a bottle.
Scientific research, even at our leading universities, is generally of an extremely poor quality, and one reason for this is that we tend to shy away from the hard facts of science.
Since the Zia era, scientists engaged in more serious research have attempted to encourage the ability to separate physics and related sciences from matters of personal belief.
Even at the school level, pupils hesitate to embrace basic science. In a growing number of cases, both teachers and students put forward the idea that religious and scientific beliefs can be intermingled to form a whole.
The science behind that mythical car was always flawed.
Even in major cities like Lahore, many centres offer classes in the art of the occult for people who are willing to pay for them. These classes include tarot-reading, palm-reading, tea-leaf reading and all kinds of other theories that are essentially based on myth.
Many of our top leaders, some educated at leading institutions around the world, turn to their spiritual leaders when it comes to making important decisions. Imran Khan has taken things one step forward by marrying his spiritual leader. This must make the transfer of information that much easier, avoiding the need for last-minute meetings or trips out of the home.
We have failed to achieve this not only in the sciences, but also in history and the other humanities. The facts contained in textbooks are often inaccurate. Even a cursory study reveals the flaws.
Plagiarism is common, even at the highest levels of academic study.

Imran Khan's bid to crowdfund $14 billion for Pakistan dams – PTI

ISLAMABAD: It's a far cry from those sponsored Facebook posts asking you to invest in a start-up's new digital watch or an unbreakable phone case.

But Imran Khan wants Pakistanis to crowd-fund a whopping $14 billion for desperately needed dams, a plea capitalising on nationalist fervour but ridiculed by detractors as unrealistic.

If it succeeded it would be the largest crowd-funding effort in history – shattering the current Kickstarter record 700 times over.

But while Pakistanis have responded to Khan's plea with enthusiasm, the tally so far is just a drop in the ocean of what's needed to alleviate the country's chronic water crisis.

"We have only 30 days water storage capacity," cricketer-turned-premier Khan warned in a televised appeal this month.

"We already have so many loans that we have problems in paying them back... We alone will have to build this dam, and we can."

The biggest crowd-funding effort in the world to date, a Kickstarter campaign for
the Pebble Time Smartwatch, raised just over $20 million in 32 days, according to the Wall Street Journal.

But Khan appeared undaunted by the magnitude of what he was asking.

If the millions of Pakistanis living overseas all contribute $1,000 then Pakistan will have the funds to build the dams, he claimed.

"I promise to you that I will safeguard your money," he added.

Critics say Khan's plan is little more than pie in the sky.

"You can't collect $14 billion via crowd-funding. It's not feasible," Khaleeq Kiani, senior economics correspondent with Pakistani daily Dawn, told AFP.

"We have no example in which such a huge amount was collected to build such a huge project."

Few would deny Pakistan desperately needs new reservoirs.

The country is rich in glaciers and rivers, but has just two large-capacity dams, and has for decades slept through warnings of a water crisis. With its surging population experts warn Pakistan faces "absolute water scarcity" by 2025.

The government's plan is to build two facilities: the Mohmand dam in the country's northwest, widely seen as feasible, and the much larger, troubled Diamer-Basha project in the north, first mooted in the early 2000s.

Its location in territory disputed by India means major international donors have refused funding, while financing terms proposed by ally China were rejected as too harsh.

Experts also question whether the Diamer-Basha dam is feasible in an earthquake-prone region, while others point out that simply patching up Pakistan's current water infrastructure and rethinking its water policies would be more efficient.

This summer the issue caught the attention of maverick Supreme Court Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, who created the dam fund in July.

Khan's decision to join the fray in September has transformed Nisar's idea into a nationalist cause, with the fund at the State Bank of Pakistan doubling to $33 million, or 0.25 percent of the target.

That includes a $9,740 donation from the national football team, its winnings from a recent tournament, along with $8 million worth of salaries donated by the powerful army.

The donations have flowed despite the fact that Khan, who took power in August, has offered no detailed plan for the money -- or explained how Pakistanis could recoup their cash if the project fails.

The lack of specifics has not bothered many citizens who, in a country riddled with corruption, have placed their faith in "honest" Khan.

"Imran Khan will take care of every single rupee," said Islamabad shopkeeper Muhammad Naseem.

Khan has form. He built two of the country's only state-of-the-art cancer hospitals purely on donations, raising over $300 million to date, a campaign that laid the foundations for his political career.

Concerns about the fundraising have centred on the Chief Justice Nisar, who used his power to force people to donate, demanding one lawyer give $8,000 if he wanted more time in preparing his case.

Nisar has even suggested that opposing the fund was tantamount to treason.

The remarks invited a backlash.

Political analyst Ijaz Haider, writing in the Pakistani edition of Newsweek, wondered if experts who pointed out legitimate problems might find themselves in trouble.

Would they be "considered traitors to the cause?" he wrote.

Sources, say that, the present government has already approached the IMF, but the problem facing them, is that they want the PKR parity to dollar be devalued to 145/- dollar from the present 125/-. Hence hesitancy on the part of IK to go ahead.

More Confirmation That It Will Be The IMF Who Will Bail Out Pakistan, Not The "Arrogant" Saudis Or The "Shrewd" Chinis

Talks begin to determine if Pakistan will seek IMF bailout
The New International
Sept 28, 2018
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) team will have to assess the gross financing requirements for the ongoing fiscal year 2018-19 before Islamabad can decide whether or not to apply for the balance of payments bailout programme, The News has learnt.
Another U turn. Back to the begging bowl to the IMF !
The visiting IMF staff team, which arrived here yesterday, led by Herald Finger, kick-started negotiations with Pakistan’s economic team. It would remain in Islamabad until the end of next week. The federal government and the IMF team would review all issues pertaining to the Pakistani economy, including the mini-budget unveiled by the government to contain the budget and current account deficits. Estimates for both figures would be worked out by the two sides to evolve a consensus.
The IMF "auditors" should ensure that the "secret clauses" of the various CPEC agreements are also reviewed.
“The Ministry of Finance has assessed that the gross financing requirement of the country would range between $26-$29 billion during the current fiscal year, but the IMF team would give its assessment after gauging the economic health of the country during the Article IV consultations,” a top official of the government told The News.
The official said that the monthly current account deficit peaked at $2.2 billion in July, but contracted to $600 million in August. The assessment of gross financing requirement could not be ascertained on the basis of figures for a couple of months, he said.
Once quantified, Islamabad would be in a position to decide whether it needs to apply for an IMF programme or can manage the economy without its assistance. The IMF team would prepare a report on the basis of the Article IV consultations with Pakistan for presentation to the Executive Board of the IMF and subsequent publication.
The Saudis and the Chinis , at least IMO, are NOT going to throw "good money" after bad !
“The government would have to take a formal decision on approaching the International Monetary Fund within one-and-a-half months,” the official said. Depending on the outcome of the talks, it would be determined who from among the Minister for Finance Asad Umar, Secretary Finance Arif Ahmed Khan and State Bank of Pakistan Governor Tariq Bajwa would attend the annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank in Bali, Indonesia from October 8-14, for further talks.
Pakistan must be one of the "regular" customers of IMF

Pakis "Fleeing" Dubai To Avoid Their Country's "Tax Police"

Pakistanis selling properties on throwaway prices in ME city
The News International
Sept 28, 2018
KARACHI: Around Rs20 billion worth of properties owned by Pakistanis have been sold in a city of a Middle East country since June 2018.
Not mentioned, but most likely Dubai !
The property owners of Pakistan in the city have started selling their properties with minimal prices as the operation against allegedly illegal money has beefed up in the country. More than 500 wealthy Pakistanis have put on their super luxurious properties on very cheap prices and around 1,000 villas, penthouses, apartments have already been handed over for throwaway prices, according to sources related to real estate industry in the city.
Good chance for Indians to grab the properties for cheap and then re sell the same to the Pakis when things cool down !
The properties which are being bargained off are in posh areas of the city. It is learnt that some Pakistani political leaders, relatives of property business tycoons, former bureaucrats have succeeded to dispose of their properties there.
Kammandu Mush on the list as well for his penthouse suite in Burj Khalifa neighbourhood
Pakistan diplomatic sources also confirmed that the wealthy Pakistanis have been selling their properties in the city very hastily. It is learnt that majority of them did not disclose these properties in their annual returns and were said to be moving their assets out of the country to avoid getting caught in the event of a serious crackdown on this unaccounted-for money. The process of vending properties has shown upward trend after the revelation that the country's authorities shared details of property owners with Pakistan.
I always thought that Dubai ( if it is indeed Dubai !) was like a "western frontier town" where anything ( white collar crime, arms deals, human trafficking, gold and currency smuggling, contraband trade etc etc ) goes and the "authorities" look the other way, and act only when Malsi is insulted
The Economic Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had requested the Ministry of Finance of that country for the exchange of information about rich Pakistanis in November 2017 through Pakistan diplomatic channels. Pakistanis’ investment in real estate sector in the city is also showing downward trend in first six months of current year 2018. :((

Saudia Back Into The "Bailing" Business

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia ink three key CPEC related agreements
Sept 28, 2018
ISLAMABAD – Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that Saudi Arabia has signed grant agreements with Pakistan to finance three projects related to the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
The accords are related to road infrastructure and energy projects which were inked between Saudi envoy and Pakistan’s finance ministry officials during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to the Kingdom, the minister told media during a press conference on Thursday.First step pertaining to the inclusion of Saudi Arabia in CPEC has been taken, he said, adding that these agreements show strengthened relations between the two countries.A Saudi delegation is set to reach Pakistan on Sunday for further agreements, besides revealing that Islamabad and Riyadh are likely to sign agreements on Reko Diq gold, copper mines, and Gwadar oil refinery during the visit. “When Imran Khan was in the Kingdom, Saudi Arabian leader including Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman express willingness to finalise the deals within days” he said.Talking about Afghan refugees, the information minister informed that the government would design a comprehensive policy on these refugees before giving them next extension of their stay in the country. To deal with Financial Action Task Forces matters, the minister said that a DG financial monitoring position has been appointed at the State Bank of Pakistan. He said that the first phase of reforms at the Federal Board of Revenue has been completed, adding that a grand operation would be launched against 100 biggest tax evaders. He also hinted at launching anti-encroachments drives in Karachi as it was launched in Islamabad.
Being the first and only Islami Atomi Takat, the Pakis can "sweet talk" the "lazy" Saudis in getting them to sign as many agreements that the Pakis want. Implementing the same, meeting time deadlines , getting to "cough up" the monies might be a "little problem"

Absconding PIA Air Hostess "Settles Herself Nicely" In Toronto, Canada

‘Disappeared’ PIA air-hostess found in Canada
Sept 28, 2018
TORONTO – A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) air hostess who mysteriously disappeared in Canada’s city Toronto and sought asylum, has been traced on Friday. Fareeha Mukhtar is reportedly staying with former air hostess Mahira who had also disappeared in Canada two years ago and is currently working at a private hotel.
Fugitive from justice, caught by the RCMP ! Canadian authorities should do well to check the immigration papers of Mahira also ! Maybe, the RCMP has caught two birds with one stone
A few weeks ago, Mukhtar boarded the PIA flight PK-789 from Lahore but as soon as it landed in Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, the crew member disappeared mysteriously and never boarded the return flight.
Typical case of Pakistaniyat
It is pertinent here to mention that Mukhtar was suspended in 2015 over her involvement in phone smuggling. The officials had also barred her from international flights, however, managed to board the flight to Toronto using political influence.
Wow. ! I thought that political influence ( aka sifarish) and Naya Pakistan were not "mixable"

Sept 28, 2018

The offer was made during a task force meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan to build around five million residential units for lower and middle-income segments of society.Army’s representatives gave a detailed presentation to the PM and members of the task force on its experience in building low-cost housing units for its personnel, local media reported.
Good chance for the fauj to make money on the side in addition to their main business of "conducting Jehad in Kashmir"
“Lt-Gen Moazzam Ajaz, the Quarter-Master General, made a detailed presentation on the army’s experience in catering to the housing needs of its personnel. He also offered Army’s assistance in implementing the five million housing projects” read a statement issued by the PM office after the meeting.

Paki Fauj Spreads Its Tentacles !

Land allotted for a new cantonment for Pakistan Army
Sept 28, 2018
PESHAWAR - Spokesperson for the KP government, Shaukat Yousafzai has said the cabinet has approved the transfer of land to the Pakistan Army for establishing a cantonment in Swat .
He said the provincial cabinet accorded approval to continuation of laws in the erstwhile Provincially Administered Tribal Areas Act 2010 and Nizam-e-Adl and other laws under Article 247 of the Constitution.Shaukat Yousafzai, who is a former provincial minister and presently an MPA, said the cabinet approved acquiring 368 kanals more land for the 84 megawatts Mataltan Hydropower Project in Swat district.
. More easy to "crush terrorism" by establishing a cantonment in Swat, rather than sending men and material from Peshawar Cantonment !

Terroristan Government Treasury doesn’t have Two Paisas to Rub Together and the man says he has no plans to go the IMF Instantly! I am sure the instant has passed immediately, if not earlier, and we will have the Beggars of Terroristan at the IMF’s Door with a Large Kashkol!

Pakistan has no plan to go for IMF programme instantly, clarifies Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance Asad Umar Friday said that Pakistan had no plan to go for a programme with International Monetary Fund (IMF) instantly to get fresh loans.

Talking to media after addressing a business community here at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Asad Umar said Pakistan was currently engaged with the IMF team who is on a visit to Pakistan, for review mission negotiations.

Also Read: Talks begin to determine if Pakistan will seek IMF bailout

He said review talks with IMF team were a matter of routine job after completion of programme.

However, he said that whenever Pakistan would need to start a new programme with IMF, the current negotiations would act as a base for it.

Earlier, in his address to business community, the minister said the government was working to separate the tax policy and tax connection functions as part of tax reforms to facilitate the taxpayers.

He said a Tax Policy Board would be formed and business community would also be given representation in that Board.

The minister was addressing business community here at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry after inaugurating the newly constructed Export Display Centre (EDC) building of ICCI.

Asad Umar urged ICCI to develop a Master Economic Plan of Islamabad keeping in view the natural endowments of this region and share it with the government so that the available endowments of the region could be exploited for the economic development of Islamabad.

Asad Umar said, “Pakistan’s economy was undergoing bypass and will improve with the efforts of the government.”

He said government was working on a plan to provide 100-million-gallon water per day to Islamabad that would resolve water shortage issue and would also benefit the local industry in Islamabad. He assured that the government would cooperate with ICCI for new industrial estate in Islamabad.

Despite a vaseline gubo submission, Kuwait refuses to give love to Shitistan.
Pakistan and Kuwait have ended talks without reaching a major breakthrough in dispute over visa restrictions, which has hampered cordial relations between the two Muslim countries.

The fourth meeting of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) ended in Islamabad on Thursday without signing of an agreement on lifting visa restrictions on Pakistani nationals. The huddle was co-chaired by finance ministers of both the countries.

Sources said the issue of oil supply on deferred payment was not discussed in the JMC. Getting oil on credit from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are among the options Pakistan is considering in order to tackle external-sector problems.

Pakistani officials revealed that Finance Minister Asad Umar emphasised the need for lifting visa restrictions on Pakistani nationals, which has become a major hurdle in the way of bilateral trade and economic relations.

The Kuwaiti delegation promised to consider some practical measures to lift the embargo only on business visa requests :rotfl:, according to officials in the Ministry of Finance. However, there were no clear commitments to remove the restrictions on all types of visas.

Kuwait promised that it would inform Pakistan about the practical steps by the end of next month. However, similar commitments had also been made during a visit of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to Kuwait in March last year.

Pakistani side expressed serious concern over the continued visa curbs since 2011. Kuwait was once among the main destinations for expatriate Pakistanis. However, both the sides agreed to form a working group that would look into labour market requirements of Kuwait aimed at receiving skilled workforce from Pakistan.

The commission agreed to implement provisions of the Protocol of Cooperation signed 17 years ago to cement relations between chambers of commerce of both the countries. However, no major milestone could be achieved.

Pakistan also proposed the setting up of Pak-Kuwait Joint Business Council and Joint Working Group on trade and investment between the two countries. However, the future roadmap was left to be decided through diplomatic channels. :rotfl:

Just look at the laundry lists (aka sense of entitlement) of the beggars:

-Kuwait should implement liberal visa regime for Pakistanis.

-Oil to be given on deferred payment basis aka free Oil

-Recruiting Pakistanis aka jehadis into Kuwait

-Increase in export of Pakistani Rice into Kuwait.

-Kuwait should invest in SEZ in Pakistan

-Should enable Increase in Pakistani textile exports into Kuwait

-Kuwait should help pakistan to get a free trade agreement with GCC

-Kuwaiti should invest in Fisheries sector in Pakistan

India FM walks out of SAARC meet before Pakistan statement - News Desk

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi termed India an impediment to South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation’s (SAARC) progress after his Indian counterpart, Sushma Swaraj, left a SAARC meeting before hearing Pakistan’s statement.

Qureshi was speaking to the media after an annual ministerial meeting of SAARC on the sidelines of the 73rd UNGA. The meeting was hosted and chaired by the foreign minister of Nepal and was attended by the foreign ministers of SAARC member states.

Alluding to India, the foreign minister said one country’s behaviour was a barrier to regional connectivity and well-being and added that the regional cooperation body has been unable to make significant progress.

When asked if he spoke to his Indian counterpart, Qureshi said Swaraj left in the middle of the SAARC meeting. He also said he paid careful attention to her statement and call for regional cooperation but how could such an objective be possible when India was acting as a barrier to said cooperation.

“The foreign minister emphasised that one country was holding the 1.7 billion people of South Asia hostage, while making vague statements and unsubstantiated, whimsical allegations. The SAARC summit has already been delayed by two years, with no end in sight,” said a statement by the Foreign Office (FO). Why include India's Population with your kind?

Twitter reacts as India cancels foreign ministers’ meeting

Earlier, the Indian external affairs ministry had confirmed that foreign ministers of Pakistan and India would meet on the sidelines of the UNGA session, but the Narendra Modi-led government backed out of the talks a day later.

The Indian foreign ministry said the talks were called off after the “latest brutal killings of security personnel by Pakistan-based entities and the recent release of a series of twenty postage stamps by Pakistan glorifying a terrorist and terrorism”. It did not provide further details about the alleged killings.

Reacting to the cancellation of talks, FM Qureshi said India had not responded positively to Pakistan’s invitation for dialogue. “It seems that India is already preparing for its elections due in the country next year,” he said. “Pakistan had asked for the talks in the larger interest of the region.” Really!

An incredibly dumb and down right irresponsible statement by a sitting minister who should be watching every word he utters. Does he realize that a "person" who has just had a "heart bypass surgery" is now living on borrowed time? Does that apply to toiletistan as well? I wonder how the markets will take this confession on Monday? Umar is too clever for his own good. Should be fired for making this dumb statement.
