Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
jamwal - to add to your observations, despite whatever is being spouted by arm chair experts, the governmental/official responses from the G7-9 have not been anti-India, nor has the ummah risen up as one against the hanood, which in itself creates space for India to take further action without attracting criticism.
Everyone WANTS Pakistan to get a jhapad

Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
I wouldn't count on Arab support much. They may not be overtly supporting paki momeens , but it's very likely that they'd be aiding them covertly. Jordan, Turkey usually help pakis militarily along with usual suspects SA.
As far as this support is concerned, Indian actions should be unaffected by it. It's not like 1971 that Indira sent a diplomat to this forum only to be snubbed.

Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
indeed, but in 71 unkil was actively pushing the a-rabs to help their ummah-anti-commie-birather
this time unkil couldn't care less
although bolturam is meeting with FM and saying we stand with india
wsj is publishing editorials saying its time to back india against the jehadis
something is shifting

Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
Nothing wrong with eating more protein, it’s the carbs and sugars that do more damage. Of course Nihari and biriyani are not the healthiest ways to consume protein.habal wrote:and the afghans accuse pakistanis of being 'dal eaters'.Singha wrote:any form of street food video in pakistan on youtube shows there is hardly any preference for veg in the diet.
its always some form of meat + naan.
perhaps meat is cheaper than tomatoes there
all that burned meat done on open flame coal sigri cannot be too good long term. volatile organic compounds will come out of the coal and attach themselves on the meat.
a more active horse borne lifestyle of old in the steppe , could perhaps sustain such a diet. not the indolent life of a jihadi leader roaming in toyota fortuner.
Me thinks only pakistani street food is majorly non-veg so as to attract customers.
food cooked at home is more in Indian style of saag, daal, choley, haleem, katlama, nihari, paya, biryani etc.
If one eat meat in all meals, kidney and/liver will give up one after the other.
this is also reason why in most hospital wards treating liver and urology sections, the patients admitted are disproportionately from one community.
However in the case of Pakis inbreeding is probably the biggest cause of such diseases.
Also, this ‘Pakis eat soooo much meat’ is in some ways a TFTA vs SDRE type myth propagated by Pakis. In reality they are scraping by on whatever they can get with a socioeconomic level similar to Bihar, and it is very likely the average SDRE Tamilian or Bong eats much more meat and fish than the average Paki.

^^^^ does this add anything to your summary, jamwal? "The sources said that the Indian Air Force has submitted proof of 80 per cent of the bombs used in the airstrike hitting their intended target."

The pakpasandi of otherwise 'liberal secular' IMs needs to be seen to be believed. Balakot was belligerent. Balakot attack missed by a mile. TFTA JF17 shot down our KSRTC like MiG. Benevolence of pakis to hand over Abhi. Pulwama was chankian by Modi. etc.. etc...
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
In the balakot complex, that big building is supposed to be a lecture hall... at 3am that place would be likely empty with both trainees and trainers fast asleep in their accommodation.
Why would the IAF strike that building at 3am if its purpose was a lecture hall?

I read it. Could visualize the dark line of mirages streaking in snake formation low through a series of valleys and a blasting heavy metal track playing as soundtrack

The lecture halls would function as dormitories at night
In austere style would be just rugs on floor not desk and bench classrooms

Since Balakot have seen the movie Les Chevaliers Du Ciel (SkyFighters) twice
One of greatest Mirage 2K visuals ever. The single seater is one sexy bird...surpassed only by the Rafale of course!

wife is in some groups in which some were forwarding stuff like 'govt is lying, we lost planes in attack, that's why blah blah..'...
it is difficult to confront these every single time...but over a period of time you get coopted due to the sheer volume of fake stuff put out..

Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
I would take it with a pinch of salt. Missile strikes are not so easy to hide, plus, where exactly was their target?
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
perhaps it was that ammo dump strike reported as artillery fire. I mean when dozens of shells are in the air. why not send in a missile or two.
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
the air lane over the rann of kutch is now opened. one can see flights coming from krachi side to jaipur, kathmandu etc in the air.
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
Well these were earlier news reports
http://kashmirnewsbureau.com/2019/03/12 ... rs-troops/
Brohmos plus Ammo dump woould have meant significant casualties to the PA. It was evident that 27 Feb PAF attack demanded a response, just hope it is true. Both sides have kept a cap on things.

I thought this mortar, sniping may be we used some 155mm shells, guys that tweet if its still hard to believe was true, was really tough douse given to Pakis. and still the Babur and RAAD stayed in their bases?Senior South Block officials said that Pakistan Director General Military Operations (DGMO) did not pick up the routine Tuesday telephone call from his Indian counterpart on February 26. The Indian DGMO unsuccessfully tried to call his Pakistani counterpart the following day also after Islamabad dramatically accused India of launching nine missiles.
The first DGMO level conversation took place only on March 5 with the Pakistan DGMO asking for de-escalation along the LoC as the Indian side had replied in equal measure to cross-LoC firing. Since then, there has been a lull in cross-LoC firing.

Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
No evidence of lines being open. On FR24 if you see a black dashed line it means there is no data and the shortest path is being vectored to the destination from the last known location. Actual data is only where the solid coloured line exists (specific colour indicates altitude plane flew at).Singha wrote:the air lane over the rann of kutch is now opened. one can see flights coming from krachi side to jaipur, kathmandu etc in the air.

Can anyone explain what happens at 2:31 seconds. What are those flaps that open up? Air brakes?anishns wrote: ^^^

Also at 2:49 there is a plane with its cockpit glass cover missing. What’s that

Yes those are air brakesAdityaM wrote: Can anyone explain what happens at 2:31 seconds. What are those flaps that open up? Air brakes?
Been a while since I watched that movie but I believe the rear seat pilot either ejects himself or is forcibly ejected. Also at 2:49 there is a plane with its cockpit glass cover missing. What’s that
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
he ejects the terrorist rear seat pilot, then picks up his friend who somehow "sits" inside the now seatless rear cockpit to make good the escape.
in between he also blows up the other mirage on the ground
"fahrenheit" is a true jock.

I am ashamed to admit that the percentage of Keralites among this so called liberal but outright anti national crowd is much higher compared to other parts of the country. Yet some of us who are nationalists are as hardcore as they come. Apart from that 1 odd tweet is there anyone else claiming that Brahmos took out a Paki Army dump on 5 Mar 2019
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
To be perfectly honest, it is a South Indian intellectual thing. My parents were college-educated Tamils and very liberal and so were all their friends and circle. It is schooling especially from the professors who cut their teeth in the 1960s I imagine. It is an ivory tower syndrome that, for my parents at least, faded over the years in the States under slights from whites so they are now highly defensive of all things Indian and desiDilbu wrote:I am ashamed to admit that the percentage of Keralites among this so called liberal but outright anti national crowd is much higher compared to other parts of the country. Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
sky fighter is a poor translation, knights of the sky is more literal
the word chevalier is very rich in meaning - literally 'horseman', but is used for knight - a noble warrior hero fighting the good fight for king and god, etc., etc. (slaughtering infidel beardies for the pope, etc., etc.)

Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
Unlikely to be a Sudarshan since its range of 9km (as per Wiki) will not be sufficient to hit Fort Abbas. A fighter will have to fly right into the border at a high speed, release the payload and loop upwards while not violating the border (in fact leaving a margin of few km) in order to hit Fort Abbas. Now if the ammo dump is closer to the border than the town itself, that could be a possibility - but I couldn't find anything on the aerial photos resembling an army outpost.
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
we need to get masood azhar ji similarly tarred and feathered in all the arab states. that will cut down his utility as "wealthy donors" will move on to other worthy "causes" worldwide.
that will hasten his unfortunate demise due to health issues.
China can give him hero of the revolution medal, but is hardly likely to settle in china or vacation there.
