While the trend gives interesting data, there are few loopholes. it is likely to be biased as it approximately represent only 50% of demography who owns smartphone with data pack.

Jihadidi have created green police and civic police to "protect forest" and "help police" respectively.

All TMC goons gets recruited in these categories. The tax payers bear the expense.

Their job is now a legal one, albeit temporary in nature.

They act as a combination spy cum local enforcement. They are simply beyond law.

Being temporary in nature, their continuous income is tied to unflinching loyalty to TMC at local level.

All I can say is this. Unless someone have very close relationship with people in Bengal, it is not possible to understand the situation on the ground.

Check the twitters from Chowkidar Sunil Deodhar who has been brought in for WB elections. Other than the obligatory "keep the moral high" at the end, he is pointing out exactly this in coded messaging.

And more than Jihadidi, left front is the real culprit. Their continuous ruling of 34 years show the success of the model. It only got broken when Buddha Babu could not figure out a way forward without industrialization which gave the opposition an opening to subvert the loyalty of left front machinery which simply switched side.

In a way the defeat of the Left Front was actually a triumph of its bankrupt policy. As MB just took the play book and players and launched then under a new brand. No serious effort at economic revitalization. Just pandering to vote banks and the intellectual bankruptcy of the people.

More importantly, she is a far better administrator/manager compared to any left front leader. In her jeal and energy level (the comparison is restricted only in these 2 param, not in vision or ethics), she can give NaMo a run for his money.

Haven't seen anyone else across the political spectrum of India at the level of these 2 in terms of sheer hardwork, tenacity and speed.

this is the initial fight in a bigger war which will culminate in the assembly elections in WB.
BJP has to figure out new methods to break these grassroots militias and didi lashkars/hitler youth brigades and jail their leaders.

after 2014 , Modi started out strong vs the TMC by initiating investigations against a host of their elites embroiled in one scam or another - rose valley scam, sarada scam, various trans national criminal enterprises , but he took his foot off the pedal and then wanted to mend fences with didi it seems - a bad mistake.

next assembly elections , BJP has to come back much more prepared just as russians initially losing badly in kiev, smolensk and outskirts of moscow, before returning in the winter for op bagration.

people who can make it home in the 4 south states definitely voted in my office. variable floating dates were given as per poll dates.

its the people from other parts who find it hard to trek all the way home to vote, so are always on the lookout for a "quick getaway" - I refer to the younger drizezy/zoomcar crowd who have not yet put down roots and registered as local voters. some falsely claim they are registered in home town, never mind they would be too young then in 2009 or 2014. this lot are more in social media, brewpubs, hackathons, posturing and personal branding on linkedin as ex fkart ex ola iim isb and so on.

the older narthies have all registered here and do vote mostly.

Sir the BJP took on tainted Mu-Cool. Don't like that but for political expediency can live with that. They need more muscle. Period. It's not going to be a clean fight.

In a way this election is good. Let Tea Yem See get exposed. Beat the drum wherever possible. Let Didi pander more toll vote banks. Let the narrative build up. What is needed is a big shock. A big jhappad in the face of the people. For too long had WB been like the frog in a pot of slowly heating water. Shock treatment is needed.

This has been the biggest problem with BJP jokers, their unwillingness to understand or even appreciate the threat their supporters face, while they give interviews on NDTV. In their own way, the idiots are acting like Lutyens elite Light versions. In any other administration, especially UPA, even a lameduck one, Presidents rule would have been imposed on Bengal for this kind of violence.

Here is an article from a 'not so reliable' source about the in-fight within the BJP/NDA election machinery in Pathananthitta constituency KL. It is in Malayalam. It says if K Surendran wins despite all these, it will be by the blessing of Lord Ayyappa.

- Lot of infighting to grab the seat
- The District leadership indifference.
- Core Committee inactive. Money siphoned out.
- Campaign schedule deleberately made complicated to tire out the candidate.
- Action items to work with community orgs not followed thru
- General meetings etc not organized properly.
- Inexperience in organization
- Popular netas were sidelined (what can we expect from the people who tried to sideline Surendran himself)
- Campaign material prepared sloppily.

I KNOW some of it is true. But this article may also be a result of the infighting.

Actually I don't think the expose works against the ruling party inside WB. There, every one knows.

It actually re inforces the fear.

Same reason why terror videos are circulated.

Outside WB, exposure will work only if pressure to act is there. As of now, none cares enough to figure out an effective counter.

I have told this before and am repeating again.

Treating this a terror problem will only work. Trying this as civil problem is simply a misdiagnosis resulting incorrect treatment

Having voted this is going too much into CT territory, you can easily touch a button with pressing it and it will rub off if 2-3 people touch the button, scare tactics will be used but wont work like this.

High Voter Turnout especially late evening Voter upsurge is essentially end of day booth capturing and voting on behalf of no shows. This is effectively done by the party with the most amount of street muscle/Police control in that particular booth/constituency. This has happened in 2014 and will happen in 2019.

Interestingly Mobile phones were not allowed in the booths/polling stations which I do not understand. Mobile phones are the best way of recording fraud activities

If people are aware of this, I am sure they would also know how to bypass this as well? The state level BJP cadre at least would know how to circumvent these kind of silly tricks. Swipe your finger on the TMC candidate's button (so that this Amrutanjan smell gets in

) and then use any other finger to hard press the BJP candidate's button.

Modi knows what's going on in WB. He said as much in his interviews on TimesNow as well as Aaj Tak. I suspect he is waiting for the model code of conduct timeframe to finish to do something about it - I didn't get a sense of helpless resignation when I heard him talk about the issues in WB.

If EC has the cojones to do something about this, they should at minimum file a voluminous report with GoI so the latter could invoke 356. That's what it has come down to, looks like.

The media seems to be completely missing in action though. I know there is no point asking, but where is the pressure on Mamata to ensure free and fair elections?

Voting going on in front of my house in a polling booth. I have been monitoring it since morning. There is no Queue or huge surge of crowd but there has been a constant stream of Voters from all strata of society walking in , from pedestrians to 2 wheelers to fancy cars.

How come there is no Nitesh in this election. I haven't heard even a single statement or rally or news item about him in recent days ?
Where has Nitish disappeared ? Mean-a-while, Hearsay is that Urmila was paid about 5 Cr to fight elections plus all expenses related to polls. Not sure if this is just dirty rumor dept. working over time or is true. But She is up against Gopal Shetty who is considered a good hard working candidate in local area.

Last About the WB elections, I think some posters on BRF nowadays like to whine and cry a lot. If Mamta can overthrow Commie rule in WB who were equally horrible louts and that too with no backing, I am sure BJP too can do the same with Central govt, RSS and BJP machinery backing them. What is this about street power and booth capturing and Hitler-didi stuff. If this is how Bengalis operate, This is how BJP too will operate once they have enough muscle power (off course no one knows where all this aggression dissipates when it comes to facing M by Bengalis).

After 4 phases, have seen voluminous amounts of data, along with turnout differential models, polling booth analytics and swing voter trends.
Everything says this is not a close election by any metric.
Would be greatly surprising if NDA doesn't touch 370 on May 23rd!
