the foereign media is completely out of touch.
CNN repeats "hindu nationalist" umpteen times
BBC is more measured at least overtly but also jaundiced.

First time since 1971 for a ruling party to win back to back majorities. Mms wins were minority govts.

Stunning achievement.
:D
Happy we Indians voted well for NaMo the bestest candidate for PM by a large margin.
NDA vote share at 49%. Jln did bot have this share unless I am mistaken it was in low 40%.
Rajiv had around 45% due to wave sympathy.

Folks, what is the position now in Rajya Sabha? Has BJP-NDA attained a comfortable majority there as well?

The other Indian Che Guevera; Kunnayya Kumar has also lost his deposit. Now tax payer spends money for another 5 years to fund this traitor's "research" in JNU.

As per rNDTV, they are calculating it going by how BJP + Current Allies performed in 2014.

As a Keralite; my take is that BJP should keep pushing in KL but ultimately it is for the people of KL to decide. I don't think BJP made in roads to states like WB or Tripura without years of hard work. Kerala BJP also lacks good local leaders who can run the show (RSS is strong in KL, but they don't have many "politicians" around). The only way I see BJP winning in Kerala, is BJP able to clearly tell the average Keralite chap what it has done in other parts of India and how it can bring some benefit to people of KL. Please note, due to large funds coming from the expatriates, money or poverty is not a big time problem in Kerala. KL needs a special treatment, executed through capable BJP leaders based out of KL. I am sure Amit Shah et.al know the situation in Kerala, so I may be preaching to the choir here.

It is landmark election for Bengalies. The left has been wiped off both WB and Tripura. Cong has come second in TP. Finally we can bury the ghosts of this evil ideology.

Thoughts on Andhra and Telangana:

Look at BJP polling % in Andhra. The cunning Naidu lost but looks like he did enough damage to BJP by all the venom he was spouting. This will take time to recover.

In Telangana, BJP seems to have staked their claims in some strongholds. Looking at polling %, Congress still seems to retain a pretty strong base in TG. In several seats they trailed TRS by just a few points. It will require very careful and dedocated planning and execution to start cleaning up INC base and also start pulling some TRS folks away. It will be a tough fight.

KL has more ideological leftists than WB. So it will take more time than WB in coming out of it.
