She was. We all thought her fight on communists made her realise that the ways of communists are bad. But we were wrong. She adopted the same ways of murders and what not. She added open support to Jihadis to that. She also failed to control even the violence of her own party.

Only things that can save her is Muslim vote bank and goonda power. There is nothing else that can help her in the next elections.

Don't care whose son he is: PM Modi condemns Akash Vijayvargiya's bat attack
PM Modi, who was adsressing the BJP Parliamentary Party meet in New Delhi, expressed his anger over the Akash Vijayvargiya incident.

https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/pm-modi-condemns-akash-vijayvargiya-bat-attack-1560176-2019-07-02

Kailash Vijayvargiya is the observer of Bengal BJP. Not sure how much this will affect the morale of Bengal BJP workers who are up in arms (sometimes literally) against the state administration.

They may be given quasi jobs in GoWB itself is possible. It is the same paid workers Jagan is trying to create in AP. This is the Evangelical program of creating a large army of paid conversion workers with incentives etc for each conversion.

Let us see what is the plan of Nitishwa in all this. Since when a senior party functionary of one party is actively help a party which want to defeat his own party's alliance partner.

If there is Religious Polarisation, then an important statistic would be number of seats with more than 20% RoP votes, which is = 125 seats out of 294.

Revisiting Sainbari, a blot on Indian Democracy: When Communists made a mother eat rice with her dead sons’ blood
https://www.opindia.com/2019/07/revisit ... ons-blood/
It is also an indictment of the moral bankruptcy of the Nehru-Gandhi Parivar that they abandoned one of their staunch supporters for political gains. It’s not surprising considering the fact that Democracy makes the elites of a nation completely unaccountable to the people they rule over. While the masses fight among each other, the ruling class of different political parties wine and dine with each other without feeling the weight of the burden that leadership is supposed to entail.

Worst of all, political violence in the state continues to this day. Mothers are being robbed of their sons, wives of their husbands, sisters of their brothers under Mamata Banerjee’s rule as well. Women are being raped because their husbands political affiliation does not align with the ruling establishment. Doctors are attacked by a mob and the Police doesn’t act because the perpetrators belong to a community that is the ruling party’s vote-bank. How is any of this any different from a malevolent dictatorship?

It’s an indictment of Feminists and liberals as well who clamour for women empowerment. They have crowned Mamata Banerjee a Queen for her opposition towards Narendra Modi and the BJP. The protests by doctors of the state have opened the eyes of some of them and yet, in the run up to the elections, when families were still being destroyed while the ruling establishment made no effort to stop them as it helped them politically, the Feminists and the liberals hailed Mamata Banerjee as a ‘street-fighter’.

Will Mamata Banerjee explain this horrendous act by her party workers?

I would like some one to go thru the seat by seat data of recent polls in Bengal.

What I am interested is of the ~7 MLA seats/MP seat who many would TMC retain?
And how many would BJP win?
And how many are toss ups?
Say 10 days?

Mamta Banoo is under tremendous pressure. Within 24 hours she called the professor in Konnagar College and apologized to hi, The local MLA visited him and apologized. Those two "students" assaulted him have been apprehended by the police - all within 24 hours. This is unprecedented, and wouldn't have happened before May 23rd.

That is correct. I heard that the figure is close to 128. This has given Bengal BhaJaPa new energy to make more headways.
Some recent developments are startling. The biggest PR exercise in Bengal is fast approaching, that is the Durga Puja season. This is the time the political heavy weights make their real campaigning for the rest of the year. Pretty much every political leader - left, right, center, - big or small, has one or few puja committees / clubs / associations under pocket. Till last year, pretty much 80% of the puja committees / clubs / associations hobnobbed with the TMC leaders. However, there has been a sea change. Many prominent puja committees in Kolkata have dumped TMC leaders, and courting BhaJaPa netas. This is unheard of. Till last year, Bengali 'Bhadraloks'
(gentlemen) avoided BhaJaPa's shadow, lest they get branded as "communal" (and hence might had gotten looked down). But now, puja committee 'Bhadraloks' are making a beeline for the BhajaPa leaders and chanting 'Jai Sri Ram'.

Apparently AS has instructed the state leaders to make the best of this season for the coming assembly election. He has specifically instructed the state leaders to get in touch with small and medium sized puja committees, and give them financial incentives. The calculation is simple. The small and medium organizers always grumbled that the larger puja committees get lion's share of funding from the TMC leaders, and hence make use of that grudge to the fullest extent. The state leaders are planning to bring AS, and if possible NM, to help inaugurate some prominent pujas in the state. Till a decade and half ago, the Puja festivity used to start on Panchami, and the political leaders got busy from that day, - some of them inaugurated 15 to 20 pujas at various mandaps. But now, the number of pujas have gone up, and the festivity starts from Prathama (the day after Mahalaya Amavashaya). The state BhaJaPa leaders are scheduling their PR campaign from Prathama day.

Lately, the state BhaJaPa has started organizing the minorities, and they are staging protest rallies in several minority dominated areas. This has rattled TMC leadership to no end. In Bitbhum, Bankura and West Midnapore districts minority rallies have been organized to protest against police highhandedness. TMC is blaming BhaJapa for instigating minorities through newly formed shadow minority organizations. .....

Let's how how far it goes. We are in an interesting time.

PK's playbook.

'Didi ke bolo': TMC launches helpline, announces massive outreach programme

TMC leaders will be spending nights in blocks to increase connect.

Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced a mega outreach plan to increase grassroot connect of the party. The decision to undertake 'modernisation' of TMC comes soon after Prashant Kishor was roped in to device election strategy. The Trinamool Congress was jolted by BJP in the last Lok Sabha elections and its seats were reduced from 34 to 22. Bengal CM however said that this is not an election campaign but a campaign to reach out to common people.

Don't think so. They have tried to "enter" everywhere else, and they are still stuck with 2 MPs. Mullees will vote only to them who will pose an opposition to Bhajpa, hence even CPIM Congoons with decades of competitive appeasement between them are not making the cut.

I had to comment on this because it is so utterly inappropriate for a State Governor to whine like this.

He is a State Governor. If someone insults the Office of the Governor, the response should be a jhapad, not a public :(( I mean, to say "

His voice quaking, the Governor said he was "speaking out of my injured heart" and could even cry.""For four hours or more I was there and your press coverage was totally blacked out... Not for a second was the first servant shown on TV. What happened has put me to shame because no person in Bengal will approve of it."

er... if I were a voter/taxpayer in WB, I would commend the state TV for not wasting my time showing mugshots of the Governor. Focus instead on Preeti whatzit, owner of Kolkotta krikit team.

He is not a baby.
So why is he doing it? Is he really that far gone, or is it the setting for a MAJOR Jhapad against WB CM goon squad, now that Cashmore is Naarmal?

Its building the narrative. Relax everything is staged.

BTW the horrific triple murder of Mondal family where the father, pregnant mother and young son were murdered in Murshidabad is being covered up by Bengal Police. They are trying to make it into a Hindu on Hindu violence.

After #JihaDidi is defeated these police officers who fix things for here will be taken to task.

Big development in West Bengal.

Refugee settlements, including those staying on the Centre’s land have been regularised in the state.

Oh, really? Is there a new Constitution promulgated for West Bengal? Since when a State Govt has acquired power of making refugees citizens of India, a refugee cannot get land rights otherwise. Illegal but populist action, the striking down of which can be later blamed on Centre.

While Lutyens media celebrating

West Bengal bypoll results 2019: With sweep, TMC regains ground lost after Lok Sabha debacle

he ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal has swept the assembly by-polls winning all the three assembly seats in the state.

Mamata Banerjee-led TMC has won the Kaliaganj seat in North Dinajpur and has also snatched the prestigious Kharagpur seat from BJP in West Midnapore district.

The Kharagpur seat fell vacant after Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh got elected to Lok Sabha from Medinipur earlier this year. Interestingly, TMC has not just won the seat which gave BJP a lead of nearly 40,000 votes in Lok Sabha polls but it has also regained lost ground with a handsome lead of over 18,000 votes in less than six months.

Similarly, TMC seem to have regained some lost ground in north Bengal with the Kaliaganj victory. Kaliaganj comes under the Raiganj Lok Sabha constituency that was won by BJP's Debasree Chaudhuri in May this year. The assembly segment had given the BJP a massive lead of nearly 57,000 votes in Lok Sabha.

Kaliaganj has always been an opposition bastion with the TMC winning it for the first time ever since its formation in 1998. In Nadia's Karimpur assembly seat too, the TMC won by an impressive margin of more than 24,000 votes.

Dedicating the victory to the people of Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, "Arrogance of the BJP has been rejected by the people. They have been threatening to bring NRC, drive citizens away and usurp their rights. We are all citizens. Everyone has their right. They have been living in this country for a long time."

Now the reality of how they won

Meanwhile, BJP's Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya questioned the electoral process being held in the state.

"If elections are held properly then BJP will surely win but if polling booths are captured then victory will be for those who are in power. We had requested the Election Commission to provide central forces in every booth but they did not and TMC has taken advantage of that.

Kailash Vijayvargiya alleged that the TMC workers were involved were in capturing polling booths and BJP would have won the elections if it were conducted in fair manner.

"TMC workers, goons and police captured the polling booths jointly. So this result was expected. BJP will win if the elections are fair," Kailash Vijayvargiya said.

However, the BJP leader said that this bye-election results will not have any impact on the 2021 state assembly polls. "We will demand central forces at every polling booth in 2021," Vijayvargiya said.

Bengal Bypolls: NRC Aside, How Telugu Voters & Prashant Kishor's Innovative Models Proved Fatal for BJP

Of the approximately 2.24 lakh voters in Kharagpur Sadar constituency, about a lakh are non-Bengalis, majorly Telugus, and their disappointment with the Centre’s privatisation moves proved disastrous for the BJP in the by-election in Bengal.

Most of these voters, who work in or are associated with the Railways, have become a key factor in Kharagpur’s politics.

In Kaliaganj, the NRC issue went against the BJP as most of the minorities voted for the Trinamool Congress. Sensing the possibility of such a scenario, the ruling camp had put up banners, hoardings and informative leaflets that helped people understand the nuances of the NRC process and why Banerjee has been vehemently opposing it.

However, the winning margin is much less here as a majority of Rajbonshi community, which is in favour of NRC and makes up for nearly 50% of the population, voted for the BJP.

However, not just Telugu and other non-Bengali-speaking voters played a key role, the TMC is said to have silently made a concerted effort to reach out to about 15,000 women voters working in self-help groups.

Also, ahead of the polls, the TMC had released its manifesto in Telugu with some specific promises in an innovative pocket calendar format. “This clicked and we managed to get a decisive share of their votes that was earlier with the BJP,” a senior TMC leader said.

In Karimpur, the TMC continued with its mandate that it had received in the 2016 Assembly and the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. This time, it won the seat with only a larger margin of 23,910 votes.

“(Poll strategist) Prashant Kishore’s effort to reunite the party factions in the three seats also helped the TMC create history this time. In order to synchronise and focus all the efforts of the party, we reached out to all stakeholders on-ground, including erstwhile party members, various factions and loyalists who had been side-lined for a while, and resolved all differences. This helped the cadres mobilise towards one singular effort.”

Internal review further gave credit to some of the first-of-its-kind campaign planned by Kishor like flash campaign, promotional helium balloons, video vans and mass distribution of local manifestos. The leadership is now hoping that all these factors would help the party in the crucial 2021 Assembly elections in the state.

A) very good at self promotion, claiming credit for every opposition win OR
