Oh come, come manjgu ji!

The CBI/CID have been regularly discussed in this very thread, and even been moderated by the mods for the past few years.

Your sudden claim is similar to Chinese ones of " South Tibet" !

I don't hold a similar poor opinion on this "thugee dacoti deptt", which is wat our Intelligence Bureau (IB) used to be called before independence.

To claim it's not an Intelligence "deptt" is the heights !!

I agree Air Intelligence is mentioned twice.

My post is observation to Ramanna Saar's post, that's all.

Perhaps you're right, I dunno much abt the topic.

if we take ur logic then Delhi police, Punjab police etc etc are also intelligence agencies... CBI ..CID are primarily investigating units...ofc u can argue one solves cases by intelligence !!!

Chidu pulled a fast one over us when he created NIA after 26/11.

So yet another agency, doing same redundant activities, in petty turf wars, and no absolute coordination, strictly need-to-know basis.

We Indians apparently are quite intelligent!!

This is a listing of all the Intelligence Agencies that India has and had. Classic Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V Job. Many of these were parts of the British Setup and folded up soon after the brits left. Others are precursors to agencies like IB. FYI Thugee and Dacoity department was setup since they had to operate across presidencies and was the Great Grandpa of today's IB.

If true, it is in one way disappointing because he should have been either killed in an Indian covert action or should have been awarded capital punishment in an Indian court.

It would be one headache less for Pakistan as he had served his purpose and they need not worry about him croaking to the world of its involvement. Now they can really say that Dawood is not in Pakistan. He was becoming a liability to pakistan with the increased scrutiny it was facing. In any case ISI would by now have all the intel and damaging evidence on the involvement of and protection given to him and his business by some members of Mumbai Police and by political leaders from Congress and NCP.

Operation Dolphin Nose: NIA arrests 53-year-old bizman for leaking vital Navy information
extract
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday arrested a 53-year-old Abdul Rehman Abdul Jabbar Sheikh, a Mumbai resident, who is believed to be a conspirator in the Visakhapatnam espionage case. Sheikh’s wife Shaista Qaiser, who was born in Pakistan, was earlier arrested in connection with the same case for terror funding as part of the operation code-named ‘Dolphin Nose’.

Sheikh, a resident of Agripada in south Mumbai, is a businessman and runs a firm named ‘SR Enterprises’ which exports groundnut to Afghanistan. Sheikh used his wife’s phone to share crucial information regarding positioning of Indian Navy ships and submarines at its critical bases. NIA conducted a search at Sheikh’s residence on Saturday and seized digital devices and incriminating documents from his house, said an NIA official.

Earlier, apart Qaiser, NIA had arrested key conspirator Mohammed Haroon Haji Abdul Rehman Lakdawala from south Mumbai on May 15. During searches at Lakdawala’s house, several digital devices and incriminating documents had also been seized by NIA.

Turkey’s tentacles in India go deeper than thought, says new intel warning
The intel report also accused the Turkish Embassy in Delhi of forging alliances with Indian NGOs, pointing that Indian activists who serve Ankara’s agenda are increasingly being sent to Turkey on exposure trips and encouraged to speak against India.
extracted
The intelligence assessment identified individuals and groups, some of them also suspected to be in touch with Pakistan’s ISI, who had been lured to work with entities in Turkey that had strong links with the Erdogan regime.

In particular, the report listed organisations that had started accelerating what it described as “lucrative scholarships” to Indians to study in Turkey.

“Turkey has been providing lucrative scholarships and running exchange programmes for Indian Kashmiri and Muslim students to study in Turkey through state-sponsored NGOs. Once the students land in Turkey, they are approached and taken over by the Pakistan proxies operating there,” the report said.

The list of outfits that sponsor the scholarships is long, the report said. It includes Turkey Youth Foundation (TUGVA), Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Turkish Airlines, Yunnus Emre Institute (YEI), Turkey’s Diyanet Foundation (TDF) and Turkist Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).

“Most of these organisations have direct connections with the Turkish government, President Erdogan or his family,” a counter-terror official said.

The TUGVA, which functions under Erdogan’s son Bilal’s patronage, has developed strong links within India by establishing connections with Islamic outfits in India including Jamaat-e-Islamic Organisation’s student wing, Student Islamic Organisation, the report said.

The intel report also accused the Turkish Embassy in Delhi of forging alliances with Indian NGOs, pointing that Indian activists who serve Ankara’s agenda are increasingly being sent to Turkey on exposure trips and encouraged to speak against India. Some of the Turkish organisations that have been used to launch coordinated attacks on India are its International Humanitarian Relief Foundation, the TDF (which also funds scholarships) and Pak-Turkey Cultural Association.

The TDF is part of the religious directorate of Turkey, now deployed with Erdogan supporters, and tasked to build Erdogan’s image as the tallest leader of the Muslim community by championing the Islamic cause where it suits Erdogan’’s ambitions.

And Turkey’s authoritarian leader for 18 years has many.

The most prominent has been to lead the Muslim world, building on Turkey’s imperial Ottoman past. The Ottoman sultans doubled as the caliphs of the Muslim world. Erdogan and his supporters believe they can revive the Ottoman Empire’s former glory that collapsed nearly a century back, and its peak in the 1500s ruled over much of Southeastern Europe, west Asia, and North Africa’s coastal strip.
