Agree with all that, I trust the current GOI and Modi and if they have decided to not show all their cards for now, then I'm with them all the way. They have earned atleast that from numerous other events like Balakot, 370 etc. And also we'll never know what other death they might be saving us from.

I was merely discussing the benefits of a democracy from a geopolitical standpoint. Because for every Iran and North korea who are punished for being under a despotic ruler there is always a saudi arabia and a china who benefit from "democracies". Just seems like all you need is to have your interests aligned with the current superpower and it doesn't matter if you're a voting democracy or if you run down your citizens under tanks in a square.

‘Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…’
- Winston Churchill

Its not that democracy itself is bad but a multi-party system liberal democracy in fractured societies like ours does seems to be detrimental to the unity of the country. I am not the first one to say that a westminister system of parliamentary democracy with hundreds of parties just does not work for countries like India, a two party system would have set clear demarcation between broad ideologies and kept some of the internal traitors at bay. By and large as societies get more liberal and people get more freer , democracy seems to be a drag on the overall national progress . We have witnessed this in India, in Scandinavian countries, in France, in Germany, in UK, in Nethelands, in Belgium and more recently in US with islamists, leftists, radical feminists, LGBTQ groups etc coming together to hollow out the country from within.

I am not sure if we will ever have a political system which is stable, where people have all the rights and freedoms that democracies allow but is also disciplined and cohesive enough to keep the troublemakers away. Until then atleast a 2 party system seems far less damaging than a multi-party system. Without democracy we may have been stuck with Gandhi-Maino parviaar with Manishankar Aiyar, Sibal, Ahmed Patel etc running the country for generations without challenge, but with democracy we have the trouble of uncompromising commitment to the national interest while also trying to run the country through consensus , reduce poverty, grow the economy, win elections, keep coalition partners happy, answer to the opposition etc.

India like the US is NOT a democracy. It is a constitutional republic.

+1 that made a lot of sense. Having thousand political parties in each state in a society like ours just magnifies the differences between us while contributing almost nothing. Those parties usually just play one part of the country (north-south) against each other and keep us divided in a way. For me it'd be preferential to have Gandhi-Maino party as the sole enemy rather than kejriwals and jagans in every state that need to be defeated for a party to have any chance of pushing out reforms at centre.

I think in a vacuum, democracies only temper down/prolong the peaks and the troughs that every state goes through. But in the real world democracies, more so the multi-party ones, become extremely susceptible to foreign influences and if those negative influences sync with the peaks then it becomes doubtful whether the state could achieve their full potential before the inevitable troughs. Case in point being the Monroe Doctrine and how the americans protected their entire hemisphere as well as the chinese great wall. And looking at us, I don't think we have such a system in place.

Also, I don't agree that without democracy we may have been stuck with Maino Dynasty for generations. The power that saw Modi win majority all over India twice in a row would have proven too strong to keep under the the foot of Maino-Vadra parivaar.

"Biggest democracy secularism" natak hasn't really worked out for us.

Even during the recent clash with chicoms, noone really came out to support poor ole voting democracy but they sure as hell bend over for the "communist" cheen
In truth, there is a beediland in India as also a srilanka and a maldives in India too because the large numbers of "refugees" who "fled" SL during the LTTE war, settled permanently in places like KAR and TN in metros, second and third tier cities are never mentioned whereas all focus remains on the so called "refugee" camps in TN where for a fairly steep price one can buy one's way out and quietly settle and merge with the local populace and likewise for the beedis and the ummah from the maldives who live permanently in India and work in India using false identity papers.

All our neighbors actively prevent us from doing to them what they are so actively doing to us day in and day out.

familiarity, as they say, always breeds contempt and this is true, especially for the "tolerant" Hindus who are so foolishly passive as also tacitly welcoming by their silence.

our one half hearted attempt at this strategy, supporting the madhesi issue in nepal blew up so violently in our face because of the strong opposition from the nepalese govt and the majority nepalese and yet we continue to have "open" borders with them even today.

contrast this with the behavior of any other large power with its neighbors and look at how many countries are tacitly supporting the muslim hordes in the CAB issue.

India is viewed as the boundless and endless source of supply of cannon fodder by the west as well as a safe dumping ground for the unwanted low class ummah who will not find a place, even as refugees, anywhere in the west. That's why the rohingyas are clamouring to get into India, aided and abetted by the pakistan and beediland entrenched in India and working against her interests and that is also why hundreds of ISIS fighters are being treated for serious war injuries by our greedy corporate hospitals in dilli and in other metros. No one is asking who is paying the bills just so long as the purposely inflated bills are paid on time.

The participation of the highly disciplined Indian troops in both the world wars has for many decades emboldened the western powers to try and involve our troops in their wars and this they will try to achieve, come hell, or high water.

The quiet, always passive, docile and most importantly the truly apolitical Indian manpower which poses no threats whatsoever to their own dictatorial power structures is exactly what the gelf countries are looking for and that is exactly why they do not prefer the likes of palestinians and pakis in their workforces.

our constant refrain of gandhi, the purposely misinterpreted and distorted concept of ahimsa, vasudhaiva kutumbakam and this nonsense of always "welcoming of other religions" sickularism and tolerance has badly backfired and is now being used against us for the nefarious intent of our neighbors. We seem to have very little concept of the realpolitik and the idea of our own supreme national interests.

True, i just don't get how everywhere we go and anything we do eventually comes to bites us in the bottom. We have a huge muslim populations yet somehow we carry out "pogroms" against them every other month, any hindu lives lost are just discarded as hot air.

Every single one of our neighbour tries and is successful in pulling one over us. Numerous illegal beedis and lankans, open borders with nepalese when they're busy passing laws claiming territories , it all just sounds so bizarre when looking at it closely. Yet noone really seems to care about it, just the same "chalta hai" attitude. Modiji trying his best, but there're just too many fires to put out in such a short time period.

We go in Sri Lanka, and end up getting our PM killed. We go in East pakiland, and end up creating the beedi problem. And it'll only get worse once the ocean level goes up. Not like we can stop them from entering our already porous border as it is. We go in Nepal and somehow the maoists end up in power and now they're passing legislations claiming lands.

Just think that we're scared of our own power and believe too much in "log kya kahenge". Gandhigiri, vasudev kutumbukam, "unity in diversity", "vishva guru"... feels like every other joke in the playbook is played on poor old bharat.

Edit: anyway, enough :(( from me

I don't want to get into the messy details at this point in time but suffice it to say that this specific ecosystem is spread out much farther and wider involving media, foreign service guys and other babuz who have managed to clamber up on high as far as the greasy pole of ambition is concerned, of course, aided and abetted by the self sufficient network that they all "serve" so diligently.

Has no one ever seriously wondered why shourie is so "popular" on tv, especially runditv, indeed just as shooklaw used to be and still is a fixed feature on many runditv "interviews".

BTW, when Modi visited poona recently, he made it a point to visit shourie in a hospital there where shourie was admitted. Made for a good photo op too.

Modi too is no slouch when it comes to turning some tables

The member states elect India to the non-permanent seat of the Security Council for the term 2021-22 with overwhelming support.

India gets 184 out of the 192 valid votes polled.

It's literally a case of "this little piggie went to the market" and no little piggie wants to stay home.

After yesterday's RS polls, the BJP now has 85 MPs in RS & the NDA alliance 116, the congis have come down to 40 seats.

BJP will gain 7 more seats from UP+UK in Nov 2020 and the congis will lose 2 seats from UP+UK. So by Nov 2020, the Bjp will have 92 MPs & NDA 123 (full majority) and Cong will be at a historic low of 38 seats under the "inspired leadership" of pappu and his eyetalian mafia.

there are chances that slimy nitishwa and his liberandu gang may become the kabab me haddi in the RS and place impossible conditions to support the govt and we will have to wait and see how that pans out.

nitishwa and his greedy party members have been eagerly eyeing "lucrative" ministries like the railway ministry, among others and many nitishwa party members are sulking because they were not accommodated by the BJP as they desired.

The BJP must quietly prop up promising independent candidates during the forthcoming BH elections to stymie nitishwa's nefarious plans of total effective control over the BH govt minus the BJP.

let us see exactly what the govt does after attaining a full majority in both houses of parliament.

In the years to come, the BJP/NDA will gain Rajya Sabha seats from West Bengal and Bihar.

Also, there is no way the RJD & congi alliance can retain 110 MLA seats in Bihar which they presently have because of the unprincipled congi alliance with JDU in 2015.

What are pros and cons of marathon headed by Modi and co to rehash Indo Tibetan history to enlighten Indian public about perfidy of nehru family? The new generation has no clue about what was lost and how. There needs to be a factual tour of events. People would come to realization about various things themselves. The PM should do another explaining event about how Chinese destroyed Indian industrial base and how they were allowed to do it. Another series explaining usage of Chinese apps and how their collection of data can be abused. One more series about how disposable culture results in health and environmental issues.

One can say that invasions done by Islamic hordes wasn't self inflicted but it's hard to say the same when it comes to chinese. When it comes to chinese, it's nothing but self inflicted.

In a video that has now gone viral on social media, the father of an injured soldier could be heard appealing to Rahul Gandhi to not politicise the recent violent clash between the Indian security forces and the Chinese army. “The Indian army is strong and can defeat China…My son fought in the army and will continue to fight in the army,” he emphasised.

Editors Guild slams UP police for filing FIR against Scroll journalist following a complaint by Dalit woman for publishing a fake report on her

Instead of slamming Scroll.in for publishing fake report about a Dalit woman, The Editors Guild chose to take their side, and in the process claimed that the Dalit woman is lying in her FIR against the journalist
https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/editors ... sc-st-act/
It is a familiar cry of journalists when they are treated as ordinary citizens. When the police proceeds as per law against one of their own, they cry victimhood and persecution. In this particular instance, the complainant Mala Devi alleged that her story was misreported by the journalist and presented as if she (Mala Devi) was facing extreme poverty and hunger, when that was actually not the case. The report claimed that she was facing extreme hunger during the lockdown in a village adopted by Prime Minister Modi, but the woman has completely denied that report and accordingly filed case against the journalist for spreading lies about her.

Worth a read for all not expert in history.

West Bengal- The Israel for Hindu Bengalis? Its time to redeem the pledge on the day Bengal was partitioned

The decadence of West Bengal commenced after the demise of its founder Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee when the treacherous communists stepped in to fill in the void.

https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/west-be ... rtitioned/

“As I mentioned before, exposure to true information does not matter anymore. A person who is demoralised is unable to assess true information. The facts tell him nothing, even if I shower him with information, with authentic proof, with documents and pictures….he will refuse to believe it… That’s the tragedy of the situation of demoralisation.”
–Yuri Bezmenov [1983]

Providence seem to have played out an uncannily similar script for two disparate communities, namely the Jews and the Bengali Hindus, divided by geography but united in tragedy. Both communities boast of illustrious citizens, great thinkers, scientists, philosophers and poets, great minds who made a difference to the world. Both have also suffered a fair share of genocide and ethnic cleansing. While the Jews have suffered ages of religious persecution culminating in the “Final Solution“ by the Nazi, the Bengali Hindus have endured the likes of Great Calcutta Killing, Noakhali Genocide and the 1971 pogrom, orchestrated by genocidal Islamists like Hussain Sohrawardy, Yahya Khan and others of their ilk.

On 20 June 1947, legislators from predominantly Hindu western part of Bengal at the Bengal Legislative Assembly voted against the inclusion of western Bengal in Pakistan and for the Partition of Bengal to create West Bengal, the “Promised Land” for the Bengali Hindus and include it in the Indian Union marking the culmination of the Hindu Homeland movement at the backdrop of gruesome genocide during the Partition.

The Messiah was none other than Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, whose superhuman efforts in the face of insurmountable odd, ensured that India retained a third of Bengal, a sanctuary for Bengali Hindus to live with dignity and honor, safe from the unspeakable atrocities of the Muslim league, corroborated by the terrible fate suffered by their co-religionists unfortunate enough to be trapped in the Eastern part of Pakistan. 20th June, the birthday of West Bengal, is fondly remembered as a symbol of victory of Hindu Bengal against Islamist Tyranny. It is proudly remembered that “while Jinnah divided India, Shyama divided Pakistan” – a ‘moth-eaten Pakistan’ by Jinnah’s own admission.

The decadence of West Bengal commenced after the demise of its founder Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee when the treacherous communists stepped in to fill in the void. The refugee movement was hijacked and their tyrannical reign set off the Bengali Hindu homeland in self-destruction mode. The rot that set in, continues to fester till date, prompting ridicule of the promised land as ‘Waste’ Bengal.

what a great idea, sirji.

if impleented in India too, it will wipe out the majority of commie/naxal vermin in jnu, jamia and jhadavpur to a large extent and defang the useless humanities faculty too.

one shot in one pot will aid in societal pest control too.

Not getting my hopes yet. There needs to be track record of steady software updates and great user experience. Being cheap as Chinese won't be enough. The minimal bloatware but still all the required apps need to be there. Steady security updates need to be there. One of the best way to stay relevant is to be able to provide tinkering platform phones to enthusiastic developers with unlocked devices. All this anti China feeling fades very fast when it comes to everyday items.

Amid Anti-China Sentiments, Indian Smartphone Companies Gearing Up To Recapture Market From Chinese Rivals
https://swarajyamag.com/insta/amid-anti ... ese-rivals
According to the report, homegrown mobile phone makers like Micromax, Karbonn and Lava are set to relaunch smartphones priced mostly below Rs 10,000 category in a bid to recapture the market that they lost to Chinese brands in the last four years.

While Karbonn and Lava will be launching launch 3-4 models in July-August in the Rs 4,000 to Rs 7,000 segment, Micromax will roll out a full line up of smartphones in Rs 7,000 to Rs 15,000 segment.

At present, Indian brands have just 1 per cent share in smartphone market, compared to 81 per cent market share of the Chinese brands.

IMO, for lot of the military successes, GoI needs to generate few storms in other areas ranging from economy to academia. Need to unleash dogs in each area to start the clean up. Termite cleanup needs to be happening in so many areas simultaneously that enemies won't be focused. Enemies would be stuck figuring out what to loose and what to salvage.

One can say that invasions done by Islamic hordes wasn't self inflicted but it's hard to say the same when it comes to chinese. When it comes to chinese, it's nothing but self inflicted.
I agree with you and the US has done the same as well.
People got so greedy of cheap junk and the Govts went along with the ride that they didn't realize the country's manuf base getting hollowed out. I am skeptical about "free trade", it a con game. Just apply tariffs as needed to equalize. Heavily tax Chinese goods.

‘Lakhs Of Naga Sanyasis Can Join Armed Forces To Protect The Motherland’: Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad

https://swarajyamag.com/insta/lakhs-of- ... a-parishad
Mahant Narendra Giri, President of the Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP), the apex body of saints and seers, has said that lakhs of Naga sanyasis would not hesitate in joining the Indian armed forces to give a befitting reply to the Chinese aggression on the borders.

"Naga sadhus are equally trained in shaashtra (religious texts) and shashtra (arms)," he said.

Giri said that Naga sadhus are trained in martial arts and also carry tridents, swords, canes and spears.

"They once functioned as a trained armed force to protect Hindus from the Mughal rulers and were involved in a number of military defence campaigns. However, after Independence, there was no apparent need for Nagas to indulging in armed activities, so they turned to religion," he explained.

China has blocked the official website of Narendra Modi using the Great Firewall, but has allowed Rahul Gandhi’s website

https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/china-g ... i-allowed/
China appears to have blocked the official website of Prime Minister Narendra Modi even though it allows the official website of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to be accessed in all its major provinces.

China is known to heavily regulate and censor domestic internet usage and actively blocks any websites or links that are seen as going against the narrative of the communist party or perceived interest of the nation. The combination of all such regulatory or technological censorship is often termed The Great Firewall of China.

This guy betrays his lack of awareness of anything remotely Indian. At every opportunity. He doesn't seem to understand that his name calling is actually not an insult, though he probably thinks he came up with a nice pun. Typical lutyens shallowness...

Added later: the more I read, the more  I want to do. This too requires a special talent :rotfl:

BJP changes its stand on Rath Yatra cancellation, advises Odisha govt to find ways to conduct devotee-less Rath Yatra in Puri
https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/bjp-cha ... a-in-puri/
Days after welcoming the Supreme Court order on the cancellation of annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath at Puri, the BJP has now taken an u-turn on Saturday after it asked the Naveen Patnaik-led Odisha government to look for ways to conduct the Rath Yatra without much crowd on June 23.

Soon after the judgement, opposition parties in the state including BJP, SP and Congress had said everybody has to abide by the Supreme Court order on the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath. In a statement, the BJP had said that everybody has to abide by the Supreme Court order on Rath Yatra even if it is painful.

However, BJP has now taken an u-turn on the issue and has advised the state government to hold a “devotee-less” festival, instead of cancelling as suggested by Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingha Deb.

Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingha Deb who is the titular king of Puri and considered the first servitor of Lord Jagannath, Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati and other associated with the Shree Jagannath Temple had urged the state government to hold the festival without the presence of devotees.

Addition to that, they had asked the Naveen Patnaik-led government to bring an ordinance to overrule the Supreme Court order, as was done by the government in the case with the practice of Jallikattu, a bull-taming sport, in Tamil Nadu.
Gujarat High Court Stays Ahmedabad’s Annual Rath Yatra Of Lord Jagannath In View Of COVID-19 Pandemic
https://swarajyamag.com/insta/gujarat-h ... 9-pandemic

The Gujarat High Court has stayed Ahmedabad's annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath which was set to be organised on 23 June, citing the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which continues to unleash havoc, reports Economic Times.

The High Court announced its decision on Saturday (20 June) in response to a PIL filed by journalist and activist Hitesh Chavda seeking the HC's direction against allowing the annual procession considering the coronavirus pandemic.

It should be noted though that the State Government had also not given its green light to the Yatra yet and the Home Minister of the State Pradipsinh Jadeja had said on bygone Wednesday (17 June) that a final decision would only be taken on the basis of the situation on the city.

Congress leaders went to pressurise the father of injured soldier after he asked Rahul Gandhi to not play politics over Ladakh standoff: Report
https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/balwant ... i-comment/
As per a report by Dainik Bhaskar, State Secretary of BJP (Rajasthan) Gyan Dev Ahuja had alleged that the Rajasthan administration was troubling the family of Balwant Singh, father of the injured soldier who urged Rahul Gandhi to not play politics over the Ladakh standoff. He said that the Congress-run administration was coercing the father of the injured soldier into taking back his comments against Rahul Gandhi. “If the administration does not change its attitude, then, we will protest against it”, Ahuja cautioned.

Bhaskar reports that when a team of reporters reached the house of Singh, it was found to be locked. The cell phones of the family were also switched off. The house of Surendra Singh’s wife was also locked. Reportedly, a team of police from Ramgarh and Alwar had landed at the house of Balwant Singh on Friday. Following his viral video urging Rahul Gandhi from politicising the border scuffle, another team of police officials from Naugaon landed at his house, only to find him missing. According to ASDM Renu Meena, she had met the family on Friday but conceded that she was unaware of their current whereabouts.

Sharjeel Imam’s inflammatory speech in Aligarh led to arson, firing at police and looting of Temple donation boxes, UP Govt tells Supreme Court
https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/sharjee ... n-of-firs/

The Uttar Pradesh government has told the Supreme Court that due to the inflammatory speech made by JNU scholar Sharjeel imam at Aligarh on the 16th of January, widespread arson and looting ensued in the state. The statement was made in the affidavit filed by the government in connection to a plea filed by The Wire columnist requesting the consolidation of all FIRs against him in various states.

Opposing the plea, the Yogi government said that the FIR filed by UP Police could not be clubbed with the rest as his speech had a distinct local effect. The state government said that the speech by Sharjeel Imam led to large-scale arson, stone-pelting, firing at the Police and the looting of donation boxes in Temples over the next two months.

“On January 23, around 150-200 protesters, including AMU students, blocked the road and raised slogans of hatred. On January 31, more than 500 persons congregated, including AMU students, for an anti-CAA demonstration creating a tense situation. On February 23, more than 500-600 unknown persons pelted stones, looted donation boxes at temples, scuffled with temple priests, leading to conflict and tension,” the affidavit said.

“Again on February 23, more than one thousand persons in a pre-planned manner forcibly entered Kotwali Upkot and created a riotous situation by firing from illegal firearms. On February 24, a congregation raised hatred slogans and pelted stones at police and fired upon them with illegal weapons injuring several policemen and damaging public property,” it continued.

C'mon Saar, why so serious?

Look at the lighter side!! Here's some humorous tales to cheer you up...

Joke 1: Before independence, patriotic Indians went underground fearing the British, today they do so fearing the Party .

Joke 2: The Government has appointed Siddharth Vardharajan's wife (The Wire) to sit on the board to decide the Social Science Syllabus.

Joke 3: people used to think the " lost decade " ended in 2014. Now they realise that Kapil Sibal was right, there was zero loss, and from their POV , were actually quite productive.

Lost decade started in 2014.

Joke 4: Believers expect some kind of "masterstroke" from a certain Man, but are politely reminded that the great enemy called time has already elapsed 2/3 rd of the decade, and no foundations of any such masterstroke is apparent.
