It appears that these levcons can move... however in most pics of Tejas on the ground the inner wing leading edge where the levcons supposedly exist all appear to be static with no moving parts. Is this feature only for the Naval Tejas?

Re: LCA Tejas Mk1 Picture Thread
They started testing with the LEVCONs being fixed. Currently they are pilot activated (based on programs). Soon, it will be FCS activated.

Re: LCA Tejas Mk1 Picture Thread
Rakesh we never have ever seen any LCA in Suryakiran colors. So its definitely PS-ed. Pretty good one actually. If you notice their fins, they are separate aircraft (theoretically one could photoshop such image from single LCA, but it would be too much efforts). I have never heard/seen about a 6 ship LCA formation but we have seen pics of a 5ship formation. This could be one of the pics from that formation flight with leading aircraft copy-pasted to make the 6th one leading them all. Just a theory, you know.
But wouldn't it be cool to have an all LCA SuryaKiran team someday..?? Not something BRF has not wished for already.

I would actually like to see the Thunderbolts aerobatic display team getting resurrected with Tejas atleast a 3 aircraft formation used for advertising our product world wide
Re: LCA Tejas Mk1 Picture Thread
The original plan was to have IJT-based Suryakirans. That would be cool.
May be: IJT based Suryakirans and LCA based Thunderbolts!!!

Re: LCA Tejas Mk1 Picture Thread
Very nice idea IR and JayS. That would indeed be awesome.
Would love to see a Tejas/Surya Kiran demonstration team flying around the country and visiting major metropolises - Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore, etc. Umma, Chumma
Indian pilots flying Indian birds and inspiring youngsters to join the Indian Air Force. And beat the point home i.e. indigenous aircraft.
Something along these lines ---> F-22 Demo Team ( https://www.acc.af.mil/Home/Aerial-Even ... Demo-Team/ )

Re: LCA Tejas Mk1 Picture Thread
Nope, the Sagar Pawan's had an almost similar livery as the thuderbolts but they are not the same. Thuderbolts were the fathers of the formation aerobatics in India operating the Hunters in the early to late 80's.atreya wrote:Isn't that Sagar Pawan? Sagar Pawan was Navy's and used Kiran trainers and i hope they also get resurrected with LCA Navy like Blue angels of US Navy
Re: LCA Tejas Mk1 Picture Thread
Thanks, I didn't know that! Completely misidentified the Hunter too, I just looked at the blue livery and thought of Sagar Pawan.

Hunters, once under Bharat Singh and on another occasion under Baba Katre. However, the thunderbolts were the first unit dedicated to display flying.
Historically incorrect. There were other display teams earlier. The Battle Axe had aerobatic teams at least twice onThunderbolts was the first display team of IAF with Hunter jets.

Re: LCA Tejas Mk1 Picture Thread
I wonder if the checkerboard markings on the pylon of the Tejas trainer indicate that some sort of trials are possibly underway for the Tejas trainer. Perhaps IR could confirm if that is the case?

Re: LCA Tejas Mk1 Picture Thread
Tejas doesn't do Cobra maneuvers. That's an image of it in a climb.
