Re: J&K Union Territory-2019
In last few month most of the encounters that took place in Union Territory of J&K I have observed this trend.Identity and group affiliation of the militants were being ascertained.
The info released from forces have this "Unidentified" Terrorist/ Identity militants were yet to ascertained etc etc.
Few pages pack in this thread. I see finally administration of J&K UT have woke up and stopped giving opportunities to those buggers a glorified funeral, attended by their radical community and causing further law & order mayhem.
The Burial
At around 5:30 pm, following the encounter, when J&K police had already transported the bodies of two militants to Awantipora police station, the family of Naikoo was officially informed about his killing.
“We rushed to police station, but bodies were already taken away from there as well. They handed over a movement pass for five persons and asked us to go to Sonamarg,” said Asadullah. Sonamarg is a tourist spot in northern Kashmir around 120 kms from Awantipora.
As per the standard operation procedure, armed forces would handover the bodies of local militants to families few hours after the encounter and burry foreign militants in a graveyard in Baramulla district of northern Kashmir. This SOP saw changed recently. In April, a large funeral gathering of a militant killed in Sopore of northern Kashmir, despite restrictions and government guidelines against any such gathering due to COVID-19, triggered a shift in this policy
J&K administration following the orders of disallowed handing over of bodies of local militants to their families. Since, then local militants killed in encounters were either buried in Baramulla or Sonmarg. Recently, a 15-year-old boy killed in Handwara was also buried in Baramulla, away from his native place. Comment:- Hope even after COVID-19 days this SOP remains same. No handover bodies to family directly rather ask them to visit a district 150 km in opposite direction for rituals.
As a result of new guidelines Asadullah had to embark on a journey of around four hours in their private car along with his relatives during which they also broke fast at around 7:25 pm in Ganderbal. They reached Sonamarg at around 10pm. At the graveyard, his son and three other militants were already buried. Two of them were killed in a separate encounter on the same day in Khrew area of Pulwama in southern Kashmir.
“A mother of one of the militants who had reached there before us testified that my son was also buried along with other three.

Kashmir: Residents heave a sigh of relief as 3 remote villages near LoC get electricity for the first time after 73 years
https://www.opindia.com/2020/08/kahsmir ... n-project/
In a positive development, three villages in North Kashmir located in close proximity to the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kupwara district, which are frequent targets of shelling from Pakistan, will get electricity after 73 years.
As per reports, the villages of Keran, Mundian, and Patruu in the district remain cut-off for 6 months due to heavy snow. Besides, due to natural geographical barriers, the life of 14000 residents of the three villages remain endangered due to heavy shelling from the Pakistani side of the LoC. A two-year-long electrification project is now close to completion and will ease the woes of the local inhabitants of the Kupwara district.
Under the electrification project, 979 utility posts, a receiving station, and a 33 Kilovolt line have been installed by the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL). According to Muhammad Aijaz Asad, who serves as the Managing Director of KPDCL, the Coronavirus lockdown has helped speed up the project. He informed that it was an uphill task to lay high tension wires and utility poles due to the difficult terrain and the proximity of the villages to the LoC. “We are able to divert manpower which would otherwise have been engaged in regular work to this project,” Asad was quoted as saying.

Why Modi govt chose trusted BJP leader Manoj Sinha to replace IAS veteran Murmu as J&K L-G
Murmu’s 4G comments, dysfunction at the top and the need for a political leader are learnt to be reasons that pushed the Modi government to replace him as J&K L-G.
SNEHESH ALEX PHILIP 6 August, 2020
New Delhi: Girish Chandra Murmu’s inability to fill in the “political vacuum” created after the formation of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, his stand on restoration of 4G internet, and the “dysfunction” in the civic administration led to his resignation as the Lieutenant Governor (L-G), The Print has learnt.
On Thursday, the government appointed former Union minister and three-time BJP MP Manoj Sinha as the new J&K L-G. Government sources said one of the primary reasons for Murmu’s removal was the need for a politician at the helm — not just for the heft to carry along the bureaucracy and the security set-up, but also to reach out to the people in a non-bureaucratic way. However, the immediate trigger for Murmu’s exit was his comments on the restoration of 4G internet services in the UT against the wishes of the Narendra Modi government, the sources said. While the Ministry of Home Affairs opposes the move over fears of misuse by anti-state elements, Murmu in an interview said he is “not afraid how people of Kashmir will use” the internet. His comments on the timing of assembly elections also didn’t help, with even the Election Commission rapping him. Murmu was asked to resign Wednesday, the sources said, adding that he could be given a role in New Delhi to handle an important organisation.

Many infrastructure projects that were long pending thanks to the apathy of the consecutive state governments have now been started and completed at a record speed. The Rambagh flyover in Srinagar has been opened to traffic, and the work on Jammu-Akhnoor road has been completed. Governing the entire erstwhile state of J&K strictly from the prism of valley and its concerns is a thing of the past. Equal attention is now paid to infrastructure development in Jammu and Ladakh. The iconic Dal Lake in Srinagar has long battled with pollution that threatens its very existence. It is only now that the J&K government has procured specialized heavy machinery to clean Dal Lake and other water bodies around it.
I saw a video news report about the construction of a medical college in Doda: one of the seven medical colleges being constructed as part of a 1000 crore project.

Has anyone noticed but Mehboob'as daughter Eltija Mftu is much sought after on many a libarandu and Islamist TV hosts on India media. And true to form, she paints a dystopian view saying valley will erupt any moment. I wounder if she is sought after by white media also. And the interesting thing is that like CAA protesters, she uses the language of 'democracy', 'constitution' to spread her BIF poison. And true form, chutiyas like Turdesai who interviewed her will never ask her some straight questions like why is there so much communally-inspired separatism, support to Paki terror, the silent support her mother and others have given to Paki agenda; all necessitating that they be locked up during sensitive timers should they rabble rouse and create hara kiri.,

Yes, it's noticeable. Another thing very noticeable, is that there is not even an attempt at objectivity and balance on the issue of Article 370 abrogation, in the non-Indian media in the US and UK. It's all doom and gloom, the sky is falling. Brutal suppression of innocent Kashmiris. And persons of Indian origin are involved in the promotion of this line of thinking. One would think that nothing good or positive has happened in the last one year. At the least, mention the achievements, both material and non-material( i.e the Ladhaki sense that they are no longer lorded over by the valley) and provide more facts and information, so that neutral readers can form their own assessment.

Another BJP member in J&K shot at, more party workers quit
M Saleem Pandit | TNN | Aug 9, 2020, 23:22 IST
SRINAGAR: A BJP functionary out on his morning walk was critically injured in a terrorist attack in central Kashmir's Budgam on Sunday, prompting at least two senior office-bearers of the district unit to resign from their posts and give up primary membership of the party for fear of being targeted next.
Abdul Hamid Najar is the seventh BJP member to be attacked in the Valley — four of them died – in the past two months. He was hospitalised with a bullet each in his abdomen and a leg, a police official said.
Within hours of the 38-year-old resident of Ompora being shot at, BJP's district office secretary Sameer Shah and general secretary Imran Ahmad Parray put in their papers in a replay of what had happened in the wake of the previous two attacks on party functionaries elsewhere in the Valley.
With around a dozen BJP members quitting so far over terrorist strikes targeting panchayat office-bearers during the past week, the party's J&K general secretary Ashok Koul dashed off a letter to president JP Nadda, seeking safe sanctuary for grassroots workers in each district.
Koul said the series of terrorist attacks since the eve of the first anniversary of the nullification of Article 370 reflected the atmosphere of fear that was forcing party workers to quit.
After BJP sarpanch Sajad Ahmad Khanday was shot dead in Kulgam last Thursday, three party workers of the area resigned almost immediately and sought "forgiveness" from terror outfits. A day earlier, three BJP office-bearers had publicly resigned in Kulgam, saying they could no longer spare time for the party.
"We don’t want our office-bearers, workers and activists to become easy targets of terrorists," Koul said. "In Ompora, we have safe accommodation for our workers within the Pandit cluster but there are no arrangements for food yet. I took up the issue with our party chief."
In south Kashmir's Kulgam and Anantnag, the police this week moved dozens of panchayat functionaries and grassroots workers of BJP to safe houses amid intelligence warnings about more attacks by Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The terror attacks on political functionaries had started in June with the killing of Congress sarpanch Ajay Pandita in Anantnag on June 8. A month later, senior BJP functionary Sheikh Waseem Bari, his father and brother were shot dead in Bandipora district.
BJP isn't the only party battling resignations. On Friday, a 60-year-old Congress sarpanch from Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla resigned citing his inability to continue as an office-bearer of the party while "constantly fearing for my life".

Jammu and Kashmir: 8 BJP workers resign in 24 hours after targeted killings
By Hakeem Irfan Rashid, ET Bureau Last Updated: Aug 10, 2020, 04:43 PM IST
SRINAGAR: A BJP worker was seriously injured in an attack in Budgam district of central Kashmir on Sunday (as quoted before, the person succumbed to injuries today) triggering a string of resignations from party workers in the Valley. There have been around eight fresh resignations in the last 24 hours and 17 BJP workers have resigned in the past one month.
Following the recent killing of BJP worker Wasim Bari, along with his father and brother, in Bandipora of northern Kashmir, a wave of fear has gripped political party workers, especially from the BJP.
The injured BJP worker, Abdul Hamid Najar of Ompora in Budgam, was in-charge of the BJP’s OBC morcha and had joined the party a few months back. Najar was provided a secured accommodation in a secured migrant camp, but he had moved to his home, despite the security threat. He was attacked in the morning.
.
.
.
A senior police official said that around 400 party workers have been shifted to secured hotels, government accommodation and cluster secured camps in the past one year. Another official said over 25 party workers have been provided security after the killing of Bari in Bandipora.
A BJP worker, who resigned on Sunday, wrote in a letter published on social media that he was no longer concerned about the party and sought apology if he has harmed anybody.
The J&K BJP has written to the central leadership seeking secured apartments for party workers in every district. In a related incident, when some BJP members were shifted to a secured camp in Vessu area of Qazigund in southern Kashmir, the migrants protested, saying that they would be prone to attacks. Later, the BJP men were shifted to another location.

And it must be serious if the party has to write to the central leadership.
So will the letter go to Delhi or Nagpur?

On an unrelated note twitter handle of Javed Iqbal Shah has gone silent fro August.
He has been anti Mufti/Mehbooba anti and anti Omar.
To his credit though, he realized that paaltiks was not his cup of chai and sooner or later some paki hoodlum would pop him off so he decided to get out before he was sent out (to meet his 72).
This is the time for the BJP to promote Dharmic leadership in J&K since there are the entire peacefool anti-national leadership has been de-fanged.

I think government should do something about this. If a boy turns 16, he must be picked up and put into a boarding school for further upbringing. Up till the age of 28-30, he must remain in this institution and not return home. Only then can the government control this recruitment & kidnapping by coerced minds(JeM , LeT, etc) who seek malice to continue some sort of unlawful activities in the state. Local population is being dragged into this nonsense.

Anyone caught in harboring, promoting or supporting separatism should loose citizenship and immediately incarnated, because he is illegal. Only way out must be political asylm granted by another country. If children are caught then father and mother both should loose citizenship, together with all the children.
The rule should apply to media as well.

Does anyone know if the operation being reported in Pulwama today the same one as the one in Shopian yesterday ? There were reports that 4 terrorists had been killed in Shopian yesterday, and the latest reports say 3 terrorists are possible dead in Pulwama today. I hope these are 2 separate incidents sending 7 to get their 72 on a group discount.

12.5 lakh domicile certificates issued by J&K admin
By: Express News Service | Srinagar | Published: September 2, 2020 1:53:27 am
More than two months since the Jammu and Kashmir administration began issuing domicile certificates, around 12.5 lakh such certificates have been issued by the Union territory administration until August 31.
Spokesperson for the J&K administration Rohit Kansal said on Tuesday that “more than 99 per cent” of the domicile certificates have been issued to erstwhile Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) holders.
Shortly after, the government issued the Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure) Rules, defining the requirements for issuance of the certificates and including in its ambit West Pakistan Refugees, safai karmacharis and children of women married outside Jammu and Kashmir. On June 22, former Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu launched an e-application and issuance of domicile certificate portal, after which the rollout of the certificates began.
Prior to this, Article 35A of the Constitution had empowered J&K Assembly to define a J&K resident, who alone were eligible to apply for jobs or own immovable property.
“The government undertook a detailed review of the situation, particularly with regard to pending applications and time taken for issuance, and on August 25 it issued an SRO 263 further simplifying the process for erstwhile PRC holders whereby the time for issuance of these certificates was reduced from 15 days to five days. It was further ordered that for holders of PRC, no additional enquiry would be required and a domicile certificate would be issued simply on the strength of availability of the PRC,” Kansal said. {me thinks it may lead to existence of a loophole for many pakis to get DCs}
He added that the administration is open to further reducing this time so that the certificates can be provided “with minimum possible difficulty and in the fastest possible time”.

BIG: Union Cabinet has approved introduction in Parliament the Jammu & Kashmir Official Languages Bill 2020 in which 5 languages Urdu, Kashmiri, Dogri, Hindi & English will be official languages. Imagine not Kashmiri but Urdu was J&K official language. Thank you, @narendramodi
!
Official language sequence for J&K should be: Kashmri, Dogri, Urdu, Hindi & English. And I hope next step is to restore Sharada script of Kashmiri which may soon go extinct. Very few people can write Sharada and read the script. This is an indication that steps would be taken.

She has two daughters. One lives with Mehbooba's estranged husband and other with her. First one is in IFS. Both can be safely assumed to be rabid jihadins like their mother
