The truck driver apparently lost control of the vehicle after it hit sugarcane hanging out of the tractor trolley coming from the opposite direction.
“The truck’s front window pane shattered on impact, which blocked the driver’s vision. The truck then veered off the road and crashed into the sleeping labourer,” Surat SP Usha Rada said. The driver has been arrested.

And I thought the unraveling of the Guptkar Rogue alliance will take a couple of quarters if not months!Jammu and Kashmir’s Gupkar Alliance has faced its first major jolt as the Sajad Lone-led J&K People’s Conference (JKPC) has walked out of the coalition, India Today reports.
Lone alleged in a letter to National Conference (NC) supremo Farooq Abdullah that other parties had fielded proxy candidates against JKPC in the recently held DDC polls. Apparently, the 53-year-old succumbed to insistence within his party to pull out of the alliance. Leaders of the JKPC conducted a meeting in Srinagar and decided to put an end to any electoral tie-up with the Gupkar Alliance from hereon.

just like the "farmers", central trade unions represent a very miniscule segment of the labor and only those in the "pampered" organised sectors in India. The vast majority of the rest are unrepresented and will have no say in these alleged "discussions"
looks like another goonda gang is getting ready to lay siege to dilli
The unions have also made a written submission to labour minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar saying they outrightly reject the labour ministry's move to frame Rules on the Labour Codes which have been passed by the Parliament without any discussion following a boycott by the opposition.

yes, indeed.
by all means he is welcome, but only as a religious leader and not as a head of state.
and as a "religious leader", which is exactly what he is, he really does not need any invitation.
He only needs a visa or maybe, not even that, if he comes on a duly accredited diplomatic passport, just like the archbishop of canterbury, another "religious leader" did when he "visited" India.
however, the archbishop of canterbury "apologised" for jalianwallabagh, even though the person who should apologise is the queen so it really doesn't count.

Cardinals meet PM Modi, urge him to invite Pope Francis
Cardinals said they have been asking for an invite to the Pope for quite some time and expressed hope it will be realised soon. In 2018 there was a growing demand for the Pope to be invited to the country when he visited two Asian neighbours, Bangladesh and Myanmar. “It is overdue. We expect a decision from the PM soon,” said Cardinal George Alancherry. He said they requested the PM about an equitable distribution of the minority funds.

that is the crux of the problem as he both : Religious leader and Head of the State of Vatican(which is an independent state) as per Protocol he can only?? visit as Head of State after an invitation.
Well as a quid pro quo we should extract an apology from the Pope for the excesses of the Portugal Inquisition.
Otherwise it would be meaningless
When the Cardinals and the Church elsewhere are openly apologising for the paedophilia which was kind of institutionalised in the old system, Why not come to India and heal the wounds so to say!! by apologising for past sins.

unions rejected the rules on labour codes because parliament passed it without discussion with opposition
the parliament passed the codes without any discussion because the opposition boycotted
so by that logic the opposition boycotts and no laws should be passed?

they want him to be invited to visit as head of state and that goes into another dimension altogether.
if he is a head of state, then what are the bishops -- foreign consul generals who openly disregard the Indian constitution and profess fealty, loyalty and allegiance to another state
India does not recognise dual citizenship.
so, who then, are these people, exactly
none of these padres or their flock of sheep are ever going to vote Modi and they have opposed the CAA, again rather hypocritically.
they have been told repeatedly that he can come and visit just like the archbishop of canterbury came and visited, as a religious leader, period.

the britshits also tried very hard for many years to insist that the bishop should also be accorded state visit status but finally had to take what was on offer.
So, he came, he saw, he prostrated hypocritically (actually prostrated physically at jallianwallabagh) and left, where as the queen has never ever mentioned it and she should apologise.
He was not allowed anywhere the PM or president or ministers where as for a head of state the president and PM will be doing the honors during his entire stay and that is what the padres want.
they are miffed that the saudi prince was accorded honors which they feel that the pope is more entitled to.
also, some political messaging and signalling is going on from KER because of local schisms in the churches there and their internal politics and hence the timing of their visit to Modi.
their visit has been arranged by the governor of mizoram, P.S Sreedharan Pillai who is a BJP politician from KER.
wheels within wheels, Rsatchi ji.
the pope will not come to heal brownskins or apologise.
He will do what obama did on the orders of the same church (spit and scoot), but on a much larger and logarithmic scale and he will deliver a global anti Modi snub from India while visiting as a state guest.

Modi personally needs to take a long and hard look at his cabinet. Cabinets are usually refreshed and reshuffled every couple of years but here some ministers have continued into 2nd term. The current government is already into two out of its five year term, and they don't have endless time on their hands. Several states go into polls beginning this year, add to the problem of BJP governments in two important and wealthy states of Karnataka and Haryana are on shaky grounds. With so little time and so much at stake Modi needs to decide what brings the most benefit quickly to the people, especially the middle class who form the bulk of BJP's voters. Passing bills like CAA or Farm laws only to invite chaos and endless protests and no material changes on ground is akin to shooting oneself in the foot. With just over 3 yrs left in the term the government needs to bring in some fresh blood into the cabinet, rapidly improve the administration, bureaucracy and be clever in policy implementation where you can benefit people without having to pass lightning rods like bills.Tanaji wrote:The government has no alternative really with the Supreme Court censuring it. 10th round of Govt-farmer talks begins seeking a solution.
In my humble opinion; this move from GoI is going to cause further fissures amongst the farmer broker gang. GoI has put an option that it can hold back the implementation of the laws for 1 year (why such a hard stop for one year?; perhaps GoI has other options which they can roll out within a year?). The SC organized commission has been given two months to give their report, and things are stalled any ways. So looks like GoI plan is to allow the next harvest season to come up and put their laws to test at that point of time, perhaps in the states which are ruled by BJP. As per this news report in Malayalam GoI has asked the farmer broker gang to approach the Supreme Court if they want the laws to be abrogated. GoI will not abrogate the law by itself. What GoI has promised is that it can with hold the implementation of the act for a year; provided that the farmer-broker gang forms a committee which is willing for negotiations.
As of now; I feel GoI is allowing the farmer broker gang to paint themselves into a corner.

Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
You are assuming Congress is naïve and won't reverse the laws the minute they come to power. Also, the chances of BJP winning PJ in a 4 way or even a two way contest is slimmer than Pakis ruling the ummah from the moon (TM Zaid Zaman Hamid). Haryana has Khattar who is as lackluster as Yeddiyurappa in KA, even if the coalition survives the chances of him coming to power again is nill. The government needs to be clever and adapt to the environment they are operating in. Reshuffle the already long in the tooth cabinet, continuously improve the administrative efficiency , cut bureaucracy and don't expend political capital on things which you are unsure about implementing . By bringing in the farm act and now trying hard to reverse it the government has only managed to lose both its face and those farmers who supported these bills in all but 2 states.manjgu wrote:
