Re: Terroristan - April 15, 2021
IIRC, what they have in "reserves" is mostly what they have borrowed from their cheeni and desert cult "brothers" and cannot be used for any other purpose but to be shown as "reserves" It has something to do with the IMF and world bank requirementsManish_P wrote:Isn't jihadistan forever reserves in the negative? PM Imran Khan will never allow handing over Pakistani bases to US: FM Qureshi
Wednesday May 26 2021
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will neither provide its military or air bases to the US nor permit it to conduct air strikes within the country, said Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
This was said by the foreign minister as he wrapped up his speech in the Parliament on Tuesday, after giving Pakistan's policy statement on the Israel-Palestine tensions.
Speaking about recent reports doing the rounds on media after a US official's comment, the minister said Pakistan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, would never provide its bases to the US. The remarks came after a Pentagon official said that Pakistan had allowed the US military to use its airspace and given ground access so that it could support its presence in Afghanistan.
Qureshi said Islamabad would neither ever allow drone attacks to take place inside Pakistan.
“I want to assure the House that Pakistan is in safe hands,” he remarked. Responding to the concerns of a senator, the foreign minister said, “Because what we were fearing and we still fear and are concerned that a vacuum created in Afghanistan can drag or suck the country back into the decade of 1990s". The minister explained that as the US planned to move out of the country by September 11, Pakistan would continue playing its role as a mediator in the conflict to ensure peace in Afghanistan.

As the US continues to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan, the minister said that Pakistan will remain relevant to the US, even if they leave their neighboring country.
New York: Asserting that Pakistan's priorities have changed, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday asked the United States to come out of its hangover and quit seeing Islamabad from the "Afghanistan prism", adding that Washington should focus on the bilateral side to their relationship.
Qureshi, in an interview with the Japanese newspaper Nikkei, emphasised that Islamabad's priority now includes economic growth and human development.
"We've told them that Pakistan's thought process has changed. The US administration should come out of its hangover of the past. It's a new, transformed Pakistan, in which our priorities have changed. Our priority is economic growth, human development, economic security, elimination and eradication of terrorism, and reversing extremism," the Pakistan Foreign Minister told Nikkei.
Answering a question over juggling ties with the US and China, the minister said Pakistan has been telling the Americans: "If you go away, somebody has to step in."
"You're not investing in Pakistan, you're not engaging with Pakistan. How are you helping build this bilateral relationship? The only way you can do that is remain engaged. Now if you just come up with a transactional relationship, it won't work. You can't just keep on saying, "Afghanistan, Afghanistan, Afghanistan." There's a bilateral side to us as well."
While noting the importance of Afghanistan, the minister said that Islamabad is doing whatever they can to restore peace and stability in the war-torn country, "But stop looking at us through the Afghanistan prism."
During the interview, Qureshi also noted that the US relationship with India "stands renewed and rejuvenated."
As the US continues to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan, the minister said that Pakistan will remain relevant to the US, even if they leave their neighboring country.
"Our geostrategic location is important. We have 200 million people. We are important in the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation). We are an atomic power. They will need us, down the line. So it's better to remain engaged with Pakistan."

NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar continued his “in person” contact with the Biden administration with his long-awaited official visit to the US. The visit which is the first by Jaishankar to the US since President Joe Biden came to power will see a number of key meetings take place. Jaishankar’s first appointment in Washington DC would be with his counterpart Antony Blinken, followed by National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. Would President Biden ‘drop by’ for an informal exchange during either meeting? “We don’t know but it has happened in the past,” said a former diplomat.
A presidential ‘drop by’ is great in terms of optics and sends a politically positive signal from the highest level of the administration. This is important when India’s proximity to the previous Trump administration may still rankle among some Democrats. If it doesn’t happen little is lost given that Biden and his top officials share a generally positive view of India. The administration was criticised for its initial tardy response to the Covid surge in India, but one could say it has more than made up for that.
The Indo-Pacific and the Quad would be major points of discussion, and the two sides can be expected to review the progress in terms of diversifying supply chains away from China.
Afghanistan and the US withdrawal would be another point of discussion, the diplomat noted, indicating that Jaishankar may seek clarity on some recent developments. Last week’s meeting between Pakistan’s NSA Moeed Yusuf and Jake Sullivan has triggered speculation about a deal involving a US base, maybe Shamsie in Balochistan or Jacobabad in Sind.
“That would work for the US since it would need facilities there to provide some insurance to the special forces and private armed contractors who are expected to remain in Afghanistan for some more time,” he said. “The US also thinks it will lock Pakistan into backing its moves in Afghanistan. For Pakistan, it will mark some kind of a return to an old relationship and give it some leeway in terms of dealing with the Taliban.”
There could be opposition from political parties, even some of the jihadi groups, but what the Pakistani army wants it generally gets. The Chinese may not object since they know their influence and hold in Pakistan goes far deeper than any American influence. More important, so long as the US entry does not affect their interests in the CPEC or the BRI, they may have no issues.

Taliban warn Afghan neighbours against allowing US bases. May 26, 2021
The Taliban warned Afghanistan's neighbours Wednesday against allowing the United States to operate military bases on their soil, the insurgents insisting they would thwart such a "historic mistake".
Washington is in the final stages of withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan, and a flurry of diplomatic calls between the United States and Pakistan in recent days has fuelled speculation the Pentagon is scouting for new bases to use against the Taliban.
"We urge neighbouring countries not to allow anyone to do so," the Taliban said in a statement.
"If such a step is taken again, it will be a great and historic mistake and disgrace."
They would "not remain silent in the face of such heinous and provocative acts", the statement added.
Several of Afghanistan's neighbours allowed the US military limited use of air bases in the early 2000s after the overthrow of the Taliban.
Such overt physical support has largely ended, however, although some countries do allow their airspace to be used for military flights.
Pakistan on Tuesday dismissed local media reports that it had struck a new deal with Washington.

Again rona dhona in Pak media. This video shows Pak media saying that the US has an agreement with the Pak since 2001, to provide access to Pak bases for action in Afghanistan. This agreement was made before the Occupation of Afghanistan by Western forces and is still in force. Pakistan is not required to set aside bases for sole US use, but is required to felicitate US access to these bases. I am not sanguine of such You Tube channels, but it is showing very common Pakistani journalists blabbing away as usual.

In a major achievement in its fight against the novel coronavirus, Pakistan on Monday announced that it has developed a homemade vaccine — PakVac — with the help of China's Cansino Bio after rigorous quality control checks.
"Congratulations to the NIH (National Institute of Health) Pak team and its leadership for successful fill/finish (from concentrate) of the Cansino vaccine with the help of Cansino Bio Inc. China," Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan wrote on his official Twitter handle.
And, then reality sets in:He said that the vaccine has passed rigorous internal quality assurance testing, considering it an important step to help the vaccine supply line.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) is considering reverting to using the name CanSino Bio for the Chinese single-dose coronavirus vaccine being produced at the institute.
For the first batch of 500 doses, the NIH used PakVac, but now it is considering using the name CanSino Bio on the remaining vaccine batches.

"Sindh Compulsory Marriage Act, 2021"
Yes, it may become compulsory in the Land of Raja Dahir.
A draft of the "Sindh Compulsory Marriage Act, 2021" was submitted to the Sindh secretariat on Wednesday, and seeks to address "societal ills, child rapes, immoral activities and crime" by making it mandatory for children over 18 to marry.
Under the proposed bill, parents will be required "submit an undertaking with justified reason of delay before the deputy commissioner of the district" if their children are not married, and upon failing to do so, they would have to pay a fine of Rs500 each.
The draft was submitted by MMA MPA Syed Abdul Rasheed, who argued that this would help fight "competition" and motivate people to organise simpler weddings.
That's right, folks. Marry early, have lots of kids early, and then wait for dollars from the west to flow in to feed and house this burgeoning population, or else.....the obstacles in the way of marriages nowadays, like unemployment and high costs, were a direct "result of distancing from Islamic teachings."

Last couple of days I have been watching these videos of a pakistani guy who travelled from Germany to pak on his bike. The ones I wanted to share with our BRF are the ones in which he enters pak from Iran at balochistan border.
check this video from 17:00 on wards when he gets through the customs on pak side
what interested me was lack of any high voltage electric poles
This is the follow on video of the one on the top. He clearly explains and shows how any traveler entering pak through Baluchistan are given security convoy free of cost till they enter punjab or sindh. Looks like paki punjabis are shit scared of Baluchi insurgents.
The top two videos are of Baluchistan, now see the stark difference between punjab and Baluchistan in this video. punjabi looters loot Baluchistan of its Gas and Mineral resources and build good infrastructure in their state. No wonder Baluchi's are pissed at punjabis.

Mir delivered a fiery speech at a protest staged by the journalists against an attack by three 'unknown' persons on journalist Asad Toor on Friday in Islamabad. He demanded accountability in the attack which was a series of such assaults on media persons who are critical of the country's military.

Your unfathomable knowledge of geostratigic positioning and strategic angeling amazes me. Demographic specific characteristics and their use to solve international postures is uncroyable.Lisa wrote:Some Chinese are taller and some are shorter

Pakistan willing to provide US military bases
ANI, 30th May 2021
Islamabad [Pakistan], May 30 (ANI): Amid Islamabad's public rhetoric about providing no foreign boots on the ground, Pakistan moves ahead to give Pentagon the access to country's military bases as US troops withdraw from Afghanistan.
Earlier, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had told media in Islamabad on May 11 "We will not allow boots on the ground or military bases on our territory."The Pakistan Foreign Office has also publicly denied that any "new agreements" have been reached with the US military on base usage.
At the same time, Pakistan has confirmed that essential frameworks for air and ground support for US military forces signed back in 2001 remain valid, reported Asia Times.
The US Pentagon has announced that it is looking for military bases in the region to monitor and prevent Afghanistan's re-emergence as a hub of terrorism and anti-US activities.
As the Pentagon has confirmed, the US is currently in talks with Pakistan on bases. Islamabad has already agreed to give the US "overflight access" to support its mission in Afghanistan. This reflects Pakistan's own willingness to develop a new partnership with the US.
The bases would give the US a strategic hedge against Taliban-led Afghanistan after US troops departs by September 2021.
A re-activation of these now dormant frameworks would put Pakistan very much back in the US orbit, opening new avenues of financial aid and strategic benefits, wrote Salman Rafi Sheikh, writing in Asia Times.

Purely for comedy onlee, but is an entertaining watch and thoroughly exposes the sham that is Pakistan, which is now literally a nation of fake orchestrated agitprop and attempts at image management.

Matiullah Jan (one of the few non-ISPR journalists) interviews 'journalists' (basically ISI goons) who showed up uninvited at a protest meet called by a journalist union (against the attack on Asad Toor and the action taken against Hamid Mir), with hilarious results.
