This is likely for a photo-op, either for an annual IAF calendar or in some MoD or DRDO brochure. It depends on what the photographer is looking to capture and convey. Some photographers like a clean fighter, no drop tanks and no armament. Others, like the opposite. Patrolling is carried out to show presence and to monitor situation. One doesn't need to be armed to carry out a patrol in peacetimes, unless flying over disturbed areas. Even unarmed aircrafts can be plenty useful in patrolling.k prasad wrote:
