Girls are already protesting in front of colleges clad head to toe in black burqas saar, videos abound on SM. But the phenomenon is nothing new. Earlier few lower caste muslim girls used to study as far as college. With the general increase in prosperity, more are attending college, but they will be sent out of the house by momin mard log only if they wear burqa or at a minimum hijab. In true taquiyya style they are told at home that Hindus want to get them out of burqa to harass them and worse and burqa is for their protection. Plus it's the holy mandate. They can't fight at home - will get beaten/married/raped/killed. So they are protesting. This is the case for many muslim girls. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

There are of course more radical ones, but they are not the majority for now.

Pappu is back with a new agenda and better training. He has chosen to make these statements in the Parliament; where his statements cannot be challenged in courts. Looks like the plan is to encourage balkanization of India. It is a cruel surprise that a party (and its family based leadership) who claims the sole rights of getting India Independence now talks about balkanization just when it lost power for nearly 10 years at a stretch. It is only providing that "India's Independence" (and struggles) are a big joke.
chetak wrote:the hijab is another show of strength, an assertion of a separate sub national identity,
Exactly. May be two consecutive wins of BJP has made the peacefools to bring up the us v/s them mentality more out in the open. These are all desperate attempts to show that this community does NOT want to be seen as part of the current India (under the current GoI).
Any separatist tendencies in this part of the world will be handled very differently from cashmere. The chances of such tendencies spreading to the neighboring states are quite high due to the specter of uncontrolled conversions.
Read this with Shri. Pappu Ghandi's statement about "union of states". It may not be far fetched that the seculars may now start thinking of triggering problems in Southern states (TN can be the leading light here), and perhaps 10 years down the line we may even see a civil war (like the US had, before it became the U.S.A). The saving grace is that none of the southern states now see eye-to-eye. KL and TN have issues over the Mullaiperiyar dam, TN & KA also have problems over Kaveri water.
ekalavya wrote:What’s wrong with (c)?

People protest for all kinds of causes. As long as it is done in a law abiding manner, it’s ok.
Option (c) - i.e make hijab wearing "optional", is only going to trigger further demands. Because the whole idea of these demands is to just push down Islamic religion down the throats of many others who are more in the mode of "live & let live". In KL, one Muslim girl wanted hijab in the Student Police Cadet unit. If that is allowed; next demand can be to allow the same in the regular police force, fire brigade, excise and other uniformed forces. What the Islamists want is to have a stake in every aspect of social life and make it based on their religion. Halal food was another shady tactic. They compare themselves - now- with Sikhs. The turban etc were part of Sikhism when that region was formed. Where as hijab etc. were not even used in India till early 2000s. I can say that from my own personal experience. So how can that be now a mandatory part of Islam?

If minorities (and that too generally it is one group) which gets demonised, it is because their own shenanigans and the urge to show themselves different and then ask for special privileges. At some point in time, others will lose their patience. In the case of Sabari Mala protests. The Muslim community had no locus standi in the issue, because it was an issue with a Hindu temple. Yet they joined the pro-communist government protest wearing their religion based dressing only to irritate the Hindu Sabari Mala devotees. You can be an apologist for Islamists, but expecting every one else to take the same line in the name of "secularism" may not practically work out.

This is an excellent approach -- turns the INC tradition of shutting down hindu narrative by claiming that it goes against public harmony on its head -- sauce for the goose, gander etc.

Surely there are antecedants in INC court cases where muzlim interests were pushed at the expense of hindu interests and narratives to make this all legal.

Guys! I think there is also some serious planning going on in TN along with Stalin. Jihadis, missionaries and Pappu clan are planning big for 2014.

Looks like Annamalai is making some good progress in TN. The DMK is getting nervous that in future AIADMK will die and BJP will come up.

This may take long but signs are there. If BJP can capture 5-10 seats next 2024, serious tremors will be felt.

Many like me on BRF are Tamilians from Tamil Nadu, we are fighting a huge ecosystem, 25% of businesses in TN are directly linked to the DMK family. Just like there AaPtiyas, TMC, Khalistanis, Jignesh Mevanis etc. Every State has its share of BIF gangs with JNU mindset. So you cannot generalize, it will take time but vote for AIDMK is always pro Hindu and INC used to also get pro nationalist votes till 10 years ago. Like every state there huge BIF and Anti BIF fight.

BIF will even declare Cholas , Pandyas and Cheras as non Tamil.

20% of every state in India are not cases and lost cause

I have worked in IT And KPO, most people join with Western settlement dream, thier HR are stuffed with JNU type people, many people from all states are BIF, as a Tamilian I found all the Delhi crowd filled with Aapties and Begalis highly secularized.

If you show support for BJP, see how the ratings get fixed, so to survive people tend to blend in.

vimal wrote:^^ One chat with any Tamil and all my hope vanishes of them ever coming back to dharmik fold.
Maybe try chatting with more Tamil folks on BRF? There are quite a lot of us here

One can similarly argue about Malayalees or Telugus, or Bengalis, Gujaratis or Punjabis. I can quote cloying examples of the latter, after migrating during Partition with nothing more than the clothes on their back, showering love on the pakis simply because they had some past connection. Stockholm syndrome at its worst, considering that these folks are not prisoners but live in a free country and are free to follow their culture, yet yearn for people who only caused them misery. What can one say of these folks? Then there are recent examples of those who justify anything the "farmers" did in the name of the protest, including the Red Fort incident. Would you call them dharmic? I can very well ask why can Punjab get away with such egregious behaviour with national symbols, with no one questioning their dharmic credentials. I can ask, but I won't 'cos I know the entire community does not approve of these things. Same goes for any other community/linguistic group.

Politically speaking, the fact remains that the "non-dharmic" TN patronized and supported a non-adharmic alternative to DMK. The fact remains that it was the "non-dharmic" that first voted the Congress out decades ago (granted, for the wrong reasons), who are now fit only to ride on the coat-tails of a regional party. The fact is that Periyar's birthplace of Erode has voted in a BJP candidate to the assembly (Modakurichi constituency). Yes, these are not wholesale changes, but which other state changed its voting behaviour overnight? Which other state accepted leaders from outside and voted them to office immediately? It will be a long haul, and frankly, I don't think the BJP is even interested right know, Annamalai's good work notwithstanding.

Political conversations in a professional setting are never candid as one never knows who is watching or will cause trouble for you down the line. Aditya_V gave an example in his reply. There are very few orgs where one can openly articulate one's thoughts without repercussions, so most of the people prefer to stay silent. Yes, there will be a vocal minority that appears fearless and spout non-Indic ideologies, but they are able to do so due to the support they get in general. Quite similar to social media and even MSM, come to think of it. And it is going to get worse, given a lot of woke nonsense seeping into corporate training materials, and the attempts at the inclusion of caste in the US corporate environment (which means our HR idiots here in India will simply adopt that sh1t wholesale). Then which nationalist, especially Tambrahm will freely speak their minds? Cyrano saar posted an example on some thread where some one stopped wearing their yagnopaveetham (aka poonal or janeu) to work lest they be accused of some bias. How do you expect candid conversations in such an environment?

The fact is, there are dharmics in every community and also those who sell out or betray or work for external interests. Fact of life. It didn't start yesterday, won't end tomorrow.

That's an interesting point. With the exception of KL, all these regions which appear to have sectarian ideas have had a lot of British influence, whether administrative, or through institutions like the church. Part of KL was also under British rule, but I suppose Communism was a bigger influence instead which resulted in similar ideas.

The part of today's KL which was part of the Madras Presidency is the Malabar region, which is essentially north-central (Palakkad, Malappuram) and northern districts (Kozhikode, Kannur, Wayanad, Kasaragod). Even in that region the northern sides was pretty much underdeveloped and had poverty and associated problems. This could also be a reason that the first signs of communism (and demand for equality) started rising from that region. Even today the people from that area complain that in KL all good things happen in the Southern & South Central regions first. These people still heavily rely on Mangalore for better educational & medical facilities.

I dont understand this concept of cremating people at Shivaji Park. It all started when Bal Thackrey died. At least in that case, One can somehow understand: there was a huge crowd of 100,000 following the procession and it would have been impossible to control it had the cremation taken place at the nearby crematorium. This is not the case here, plus the official crematorium is literally 50 metres away from Shivaji Park. Balasaheb Ambedkar was cremated in that crematorium… Shivaji Park is a place where families, kids and old people come to play, exercise , chat and get fresh air, its not a place for cremation.

I am not arguing whether Lata didi deserves it or not, clearly she does, assuming this is a honour. From a religious perspective, one does not make any ground a crematorium. Plus there is the sticky question of her passing away as a corona patient. For commoners, one dont even get to see the body for a last viewing if one dies as a corona patient.

Oh well.. maybe I am just old fashioned.

She comes from a family which has adhered to core indic values very staunchly. Has been very close to Swatantryaveer Savarkar from her father's time. Her father, the legendary Master Dinanath Mangeshkar, through his playwright company produced and performed in several plays written by Savarkar aimed at creating social awareness and of course against the British, some were even banned in those days.
Lataji has sung many iconic solo compositions and some along with her siblings written by Veer Savarkar. This was reason enough for her not being conferred Bharat Ratna award in Congi time.
Not to mention that she's been an ardent admirer and supporter of Modiji and has openly endorsed him for PMship.

2017-18: 7.2%
2018-19: 6.1%
2019-20: 4.2%
2020-21: -7.3%
These are India’s growth rates. 5 years, with each year’s growth less than previous has never happened after 1947. Sad. Let us not live in data denial, reducing everything to politics.
He basically ignored the other negative growth years during NaMo's early tenure which was booby-trapped by the INC to fail, and after ignoring those years, introduces the pandemic figures in 20-21 to make some point, apparently. What is interesting is that he does not care to be seen as a liar, either because he knows that his own "tribe" will never really care for the truth and/or the ones who see through him don't matter as he is the one with a platform.

So this guy is a professor in an american university, and he feels very confident about lying about India without getting caught out for it. Seems like the "liberal" USA/EU/Scandianvian countries have figured that getting a brown sepoy to mimic their own thoughts is a good way to control their racist narrative. These brown "maasa is always right" indian-origin secular, savarna, brahmin, hindu girls and boys with Ph,D.s in white christian countries are lying about the fact that India is a democracy....,how? They conducted a survery involving 20 white people with PhDs from white universities who had never set foot in India for research purposes.

A good fraction of Indians get to read about these things as facts about India, and then repeat it to other Indians as fact, while the elected govt. sits around with its thumb up various orifices, when they can just shut down these well-funded sources of dis-informatuon against India. Instead, they choose to engage with secondary effects of lawsuits from these enemy agents that already know the weaknesses of Indian law, mostly because they designed it. Stupid is as stupid does. effing morons.

there is a cost/benefit calculation. If Sreenivasan Jain or some schmuck like him can peddle disinformation openly against the Indian govt, then the options are to either go the JoeBiden/JoeRogan way and shutdown the Journalist, or to just let (dis)information prevail with the risky assumption that citizens are sufficiently informed to make the right judgement calls from their perspective.

Bommai is a surprise package. Either he has (had) clear Dharmic convictions and on becoming CM gained sufficient courage and means to implement some of them; Or he has been perceptive to the Dharmic expectations of a re-awakening people, and realises that this awakening can't be ignored or put back in a bottle.

Either way, as long he is not being Adharmic, more power to him.

No Cyrano-ji ... We need some pushback mixed with entertainment ...

Also Pappu's BIF has to be called out. This time with the help of phoren johadi/nazi white progressive combination, he started a South vs North rebellion. Even KCR started the song that we need a new constitution. Stalin is quietly using church to bring in all BIF forces.

Already I got 10 whatsapp messages calling out Pappu's make-in-india speech and Modi's response

That was not post budget speech (legislative procedure wise). It was a reply to discussion on motion to thank Presidents speech in which he had to respond to allegations raised by opposition. This is a yearly phenomenon. The budget discussion commenced right after PM gave his reply with first speech given by shampoo boy. Here is the video link. Motion is moved and adopted by voice vote from 1:41:55. Budget discussions starts at 1:42:35.
