Any updates on delivery of the remaining FOCs? We are well into February now with the FY fast ending but absolutely no deliveries have been made in at least the last 6 months, we haven’t even heard of EGR and HTT for the lat few fighters in a looong time.

+ still no sign of SPT-1 or NP-5, HAL like ISRO seem to have gone MIA in the past 6-8 months. I’m constantly defending HAL and taking them at their word but they keep quietly shifting the goalposts and under performing, this has to change for MK1A otherwise this entire project has been a waste (I’m confident MK1A will be fine though).

It's possible that HAL no longer publishes these details. They already did the same with first flights. Last updates we got were through Tarmak series.

HAL/DRDO have ordered a mockup model with a EW configuration of LCA Tejas.
Model will have 3 Modified ASPJ pods and 2 Rudram 1 missles.

So #TejoGrowler on cards.
Details in a video soon.

Does Tejas have sufficient power for a Growler kind of Aircraft...?
I guess they're only testing various technologies...

TEDBF/ORCA would make a perfect candidate for a Desi Growler...

The Growler itself doesn't have the power to run its stand-off jammer pods. Each of those generate their own. Only the receiver system, and the Growler specific communication systems are powered by the aircraft.

This gearbox is a culmination of mastering many technologies: lightweight Mg alloy casting, gears, bearings, tribology, lubrication system, testing regime. Kudos to the team for developing it.

With a 40KW generator the Tejas should have sufficient power to run multiple multi-KW SPJs, even considering the load factor of its other avionics.

I believe the indigenous gearbox is already being used in most of the LCAs. It is some of the bearings that are now being indigenized. Wonder who was the earlier supplier of these bearing?

i think its a welcome addition, a lot of drone based weaponry will not require high power like the range of a growler..it can sanitize air of small drones..and if not a growler it can definitely be a cute ~~teddy~~ tejjy bear!

Mk1 is better than the non-upgraded Mirage 2000 and that is from the pilots of No 45 Squadron.

Mk1A will be better than the upgraded Mirage 2000.

LCA comparison to the mirage-2000. This reminds me of my childhood friend. He used to get emotionally charged up watching me for my ways and try to beat me in the things I try to set an example with. He was always dependent to see a new thing but never originally came up things on his own. Always tried to out match an existing example in its own new found realm . If they start to support meteor and super cruise and limited tvc on the mirage, it will out class anything.

Plus in military aviation some safety would have been built for circling the airfield, ability to fly to alternative airfields etc. So range would be 20% more than what the flight route entitled.

Tejas flight range is atleast as much as that of Gripen.

This bit of fact will not be lost amongst the professionals, who do note these kind of things. Clean config with 3 drop tanks. Though the center line drop tank is 800 ltrs I think.
Efficient flying altitude and speed, go without saying.
The max ferry range with the 3 drop tank config should be around 3,400-3,600 Kms.

Really a mystery as to why IAF is not opting for an additional couple of squadrons of MK1A. Sheer stupidity.

Because somewhere we dont have it in our system to accelerate Mk1A & Mk2 by a few years.

Why are we assuming that there was no staging? On the way to Malaysia, it was staged through KKD and Rangoon.
