Not sure if this will end up on the Mk1, but reportedly this is for Mk1A ----> viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7879#p2531701nachiket wrote:Excellent. Now add an SPJ pod on the outer pylon and we're in business.

Does Tejas have sufficient power for a Growler kind of Aircraft...?HAL/DRDO have ordered a mockup model with a EW configuration of LCA Tejas.
Model will have 3 Modified ASPJ pods and 2 Rudram 1 missles.
So #TejoGrowler on cards.
Details in a video soon.
Curious coincidence that when NAL Sara's first took to air some 16 yrs ago, this forum was gaga over it, and possibility to use the tiny SARAS as ELINT/AWACSLakshmanPST wrote:https://twitter.com/alpha_defense/statu ... 9TcIw&s=19Does Tejas have sufficient power for a Growler kind of Aircraft...?HAL/DRDO have ordered a mockup model with a EW configuration of LCA Tejas.

I guess they're only testing various technologies...
TEDBF/ORCA would make a perfect candidate for a Desi Growler...
The Growler itself doesn't have the power to run its stand-off jammer pods. Each of those generate their own. Only the receiver system, and the Growler specific communication systems are powered by the aircraft.LakshmanPST wrote:

#LCATejas LSP4 completed the first one hour flight of indigenous aircraft bearings for the critical gearbox and all performance parameters met the stringent limits. Gearbox is developed ab-initio by CVRDE.

Doable with a jammer pod i presume,esp with mk2Prem Kumar wrote:How about a "Light Growler" , a.k.a "Meow-er"
i think its a welcome addition, a lot of drone based weaponry will not require high power like the range of a growler..it can sanitize air of small drones..and if not a growler it can definitely be a cutekit wrote:Doable with a jammer pod i presume, esp with mk2Prem Kumar wrote:How about a "Light Growler" , a.k.a "Meow-er"
Tejas comes as 48:45 !!uddu wrote:Watch after Boeing 777. Mostly like the SL air show but with much better turn radius and performance.
(Unrelated to Tejas display) Did they outsource video coverage to Doordarshan by any chance? Quite awfuluddu wrote:Watch after Boeing 777. Mostly like the SL air show but with much better turn radius and performance.
Mk1 is better than the non-upgraded Mirage 2000 and that is from the pilots of No 45 Squadron.viveks wrote:FBW of LCA appears very mature. Able to duplicate almost everything the Mirage-2000 is capable of.
And while we are at it.... how about some RAM coatings and implementation of Spectra as wellviveks wrote: If they start to support meteor and super cruise and limited tvc on the mirage, it will out class anything.

Best news of the day. Thank you Saar.mody wrote:Direct flight by Tejas to Singapore without aerial re-fueling, only drop tanks. No more doubts should persist on the ferry range and combat range of the Tejas.
Plus in military aviation some safety would have been built for circling the airfield, ability to fly to alternative airfields etc. So range would be 20% more than what the flight route entitled.Neela wrote:3200 Kmmody wrote:Direct flight by Tejas to Singapore without aerial re-fueling, only drop tanks. Why are we assuming that there was no staging? On the way to Malaysia, it was staged through KKD and Rangoon.mody wrote:Direct flight by Tejas to Singapore without aerial re-fueling, only drop tanks. No more doubts should persist on the ferry range and combat range of the Tejas.
