Re: Eastern Europe/Ukraine [Feb 6th 2015]
At this point, things can go in two directions:
1) Russia keeps the Eastern Ukraine. Lets US/EU keep the western Ukraine as its puppet. And people call it a truce.
2) I doubt US DC cabal would agree to that. So second scenario is where US escalates this war to next stage. Somehow triggers some false-flag event that allows US/Nato to send their troops in Ukraine directly.
On this second point, Biden's violent rhetoric over the weekend in Poland is eye-opening. US state dept is walking back some of the statements that Biden made. But Biden must have made those remarks because his inner circle (his puppet masters) must have been discussing those internally with him. So doesn't seem like random mis-speak. rather spoken too soon.
Here is the analysis from Alex Christoforou who has been tracking this war closely.

Seems like US/EU might be planning a false flag chemical attack to escalate this war even further.

So far this war is hurting EU the most, and benefiting China the Most. EU countries don't really control this war. This war is being planned and executed (on NATO's side) from somewhere in Washington DC's headquarters of CIA and Pentagon. Poland is just the transit point for trafficking weapons and foot soldiers into Ukraine. If War escalates and EU countries suffer, US couldn't care less. All they want is an excuse to involve Nato directly in the war.

European parliament admitting attacks on ethnic Greek civilians in Mariupol region by Ukrainians.
https://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/do ... 78_EN.html
Ukrainian fanaticism has already claimed the first lives in this fresh conflict. On 13 February 2022, two Ukrainians of Greek descent were perceived as enemies and killed and two others were injured in a act perpetrated by individuals who were, in all likelihood, fanatical Ukrainian soldiers.
According to the ‘Save Donbass’ representative, the circumstances surrounding the two deaths, the identity of the soldiers, their unit and the likelihood of them being brought before a military tribunal have not been elucidated.
The area is being terrorised by not only Ukrainian soldiers but also mercenaries and neo-Nazi security forces. Although Ukraine has ratified the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, it appears that non-Ukrainians are, without exception, no longer welcome in the country.
The attack took place in the village of Hranitne, which is home to a community of around 3 500 Greeks that has been living there for about 2 500 years and speaks a dialect similar to that spoken in the Georgian district of Tsalka. The first Greek church and school were erected there in the 7th century.
In view of this:
1. Can the Commission say how it plans to uncover the truth behind the killing of the two ethnic Greeks?
2. Given that the EU is funding the 2016-2023 ‘U-LEAD with Europe’ multi-donor action programme, what action has been taken and commitments made at local and regional level for the protection of the Greek community in Ukraine?
3. Does the Commission consider that Ukraine should step up the special status of the Greek minority?

Beijing wants ‘business as usual’. But Delhi is having none of it
After India abstained from the vote on Ukraine at the UNSC and the UN, both the Russians and the Chinese have tried to project it as India’s support to them. The Russian envoy at the UN, Dmitry Polyanskiy, publicly thanked India clubbing it with China, Kenya and Gabon, “who were brave to withstand US hand-twisting before the vote”. The Chinese media went overboard suggesting it as India’s change of heart.
India’s stand on Ukraine is markedly different from that of China. China justifies Russia’s aggression in Ukraine in the name of security concerns. However, India takes a different view. India is committed to international rule of law and respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of nations. It stood for a diplomatic resolution of disputes and opposed war. At the time of its abstention at the UN, India made its stand clear by asking for a cessation of conflict, immediate de-escalation of tensions and quiet and constructive diplomacy.
When the Nazi general Himmler battered Warsaw in Poland in 1944, turning 80 per cent of the city into rubble, Hitler shed crocodile tears, blaming the Russians, French and British for the plight of the Poles. Putin is doing the same by pounding Ukrainian cities, blaming the West and NATO. Notwithstanding several justifications from both sides, it’s a war for supremacy over Eurasia, and China sees benefit in this new Cold War.
For India, it is as much about principles as about interests.

Re: Eastern Europe/Ukraine [Feb 6th 2015]
Good positioning by India not totally aligning with the Russian position despite the UN vote. Lavrov and Putin need to offer some iron clad guarantees to India vis a vis China and speed up specific areas of strategic cooperation to get continued Indian support.
Lavrov may present evidence of why Russia had to invade preemptively and the dirty game the neocons have been playing.
In which case India's stance on territorial integrity, rule of international law etc will still hold but the other way round
India in turn will offer suggestions on how not to let the bear get trapped in the panda's embrace and the safeguards an equally strong relationship with India will procure.

I have to disagree on the ‘ iron clad guarantees offered to us vis a vis China’ part
- . After these sanctions Russias ability to offer us high tech weapons will be greatly diminished. They don’t have the semi fabs and will be fully dependent on Chinese Semi companies. This works for Russia but not us
. Russia is now heavily dependent on China for trade
. Other than the S 400 ,cruise missiles or nuclear subs most of the weaponry we are seeing in UKR is sub standard I am sure we can replace almost all of it with our desi pvt companies (it’s now or never)
Where we really need Russia is there veto in security council. Now if UN Security Council will be reformed to give ‘land of Buda’ its rightful veto power then its a different game. I am sure Jaishankar will be arguing along these lines and not some nostalgia abt how soviets helped us.

I wasn't referring to the usual military equipment like rifles and tanks saar. Russia has to come through with the remaining S400 deliveries, ensure spares needed for our aircraft needing them, sub leases and certain tech areas which may include non conventional stuff. Secondly India has a long habit of getting equipment tailored to certain extent which will differ from similar stuff sold to others. Such details can never be compromised no matter what limitless cooperation agreements are signed with panda. And take a neutral stand in public when time comes because we unlike panda are an all weather friend.
In other spheres, India may expect Russia to park some of its gold reserves with RBI as a de-risking measure. Assure supply of very heavy metals etc etc. A comprehensive multi-faceted cooperation that secures core interests for both.
UN vote/veto is a momentary big deal only for those who care for such niceties. It's more of a signalling platform. India under Modi has surely learnt that much and will play that game as it sees fit

WRT to UN Security council voting, we are in this situation due to Banditji Nehru (who was foisted on India by the Brits and the Brits foisted Gandhi too on India). The amount of blundering by Banditji is why India is facing issues like Cashmore, the China aggression on India's border. Tibet as an independent country would have been a nice buffer but Banditji had a hard time hearing what the Chinese said to him on Tibet.

Next few weeks could bring some interesting times to EU, especially with respect to oil/gas/heating and broader economy, if pootinsky is serious about March 31 deadline, Ruble quickly recovering against Dollar and euro. UKies could be the first casualty.
Who will blink first?
Who will blink first?
Vladimir Putin just upped the ante in the economic war between Russia and the West.
By announcing on Wednesday that so-called unfriendly countries — a list including EU countries and the United States — will have to pay for Russian gas imports in rubles, the Russian president is challenging Western efforts to punish Moscow for invading Ukraine while carving out crucial Russian energy imports from sanctions.
"I made the decision to implement within the shortest possible time the package of measures to transfer payments — we will start with that — for our natural gas supplied to the so-called ‘unfriendly’ states to Russian rubles," Putin said.
It's a high-stakes gamble: Either the West caves and complies with Putin’s demands, or it balks and risks seeing how far Putin will go in withholding gas supplies and potentially cutting off the cash needed by his flailing domestic economy.
