Just to be clear --
The problem with SB403 (and similar) was it added 'cast' (along with race/gender/etc) as a category... The problem was while everybody has a race gender only Indian had cast. This is why Governor Vetoed it. (There are already laws which prevents discrimination based on ancestry, creed etc, and one does NOT need a new category which can be misused).
Same point here -- they wanted to add a new category 'cast'. Due to lot of good work of many Hindu organization they were not successful. .. as it 'cast' is not a separate category
Caste is not a prescribed Code ground, and only the legislature can recognize a new ground. ... Human rights tribunals have found that caste-based discrimination is covered by human rights laws and can be challenged under one or more existing grounds. [ IOW //no new category needed ]
The OHRC takes the position that caste-based discrimination is an intersectional system of discrimination that can be covered under any combination of ancestry, creed, colour, race, ethnic origin, place of origin, family status, or possibly other grounds, under Ontario’s Code.
(No ugly reference to Hindus and cast system as defined by likes of equality labs etc)...

What is also more interesting that due to lobbying by a fewHindu Canadian orgs
E4507 recognizing Hinduphobia is tabled..
