Interceptor missiles destined for other countries will be diverted to help Kyiv protect cities and critical infrastructure
Ukraine will have 8 Patriot systems, each with 4-8 batteries. Currently, they have 4 systems (US and Germany) with others (US, Germany, Romania, Netherlands) pledging 4 more.
Plus, 2 SAMP/T systems from Italy.
Poland is using its Patriot systems to protect the infrastructure used to ship western weaponry across its border into Ukraine

These people have been fighting for two and a half years away from their families. They have lost colleagues and friends. Animal companions provide much needed psychological respite. Not to be underestimated.
Cats also good at keeping mouse/rat infestation under control in the trenches.
Besides, it’s not just Ukrainians doing this. Both sides are doing it.
Psychologically soldiers need to be fit. The more the basic comforts can be provided the longer the soldiers can fight on. A lot of soldiers are lost to PTSDs mentally unfit to fight.
Is that hit on the Children's Hospital a false flag?
The whole thing looks a bit coordinated like a False Flag Attack to tarnish Modi's visit. Russia has denied the missile was theirs, and I don't see why they'd do this in the middle of an important visit.
The missile hit happened right during Modi's visit. Zelensky was quick to condemn Modi's visit in connection with this particular attack.
The Congress Party was quick to jump in and condemn Modi in connection with this attack.

The strike on children's hospital could be a case of mistaken targeting, or spoofing of the Glasnoss signal.
The Congress is so anti Modi, that if Modi says fresh air is good for health. They will put themselves in a gas chamber.
I find the timing to be very suspicious. Very strange that the mistake or the spoofing should happen right during Modi's visit.
Why would someone spoof a signal to hit a children's hospital, unless of course they had a malicious intent?
Remember when Trump showed up in India, that's exactly when the Shaheen Bagh riot happened.
Remember when Bill Clinton showed up in India, that's exactly when a massacre of Sikhs happened in J&K.
Whenever India is in in the picture, there seem to be an excess of coincidences.

I read somewhere that iy was a case of Air Defence missile that Ukraine fired that lost its guidance mechanism and just fell to the ground. It happened to fall on the children's hospital. Don't know how far that is true.
The Washington summit was heavy on promises but light on plans.
…
But the summit also highlighted a central tension in Western strategy to support Ukraine: Military aid has played a decisive role in enabling Kyiv to fend off Russian forces, but it has fallen short of enabling it to actually win the war.
…
U.S. officials believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ultimate goal of subjugating Ukraine remains unchanged more than two years into the war, moving his country’s economy onto a war footing. Nearly a third of the state budget this year is earmarked for defense spending, and shipments of artillery from Iran and North Korea have left Ukraine outgunned on the battlefield.
…
In the interim, the strategy appears to be to bolster the country’s defenses and hope that Moscow punches itself out. “We’re not in full control of that timeline,” said a senior Biden administration official, asked about a path to a just end to the war. “There is one person who is in control of that, and that’s Vladimir Putin. If he chose to back away and end it, he could do that tomorrow,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on the record.
The problem is that Russia is similarly trying to wait out Ukraine and its Western allies.
“It’s ultimately a big psychological game, and Putin thinks that he can win it—that time is on his side and that he can grind down the Ukrainians and our political will to support” them, Ciaramella said.
Despite the pledges of long-term support announced at the summit this week, critics have questioned the longevity of this approach. “It is magical thinking to expect that the current level of allied support can continue indefinitely,” Eugene Rumer, the director of Carnegie’s Russia and Eurasia program, wrote in a recent commentary.
“The challenge before the allies at this summit is bigger than anything they have faced since the Cold War. It is not to keep Ukraine in the fight for the long run but to find a way to end this war without sacrificing Ukraine in the process.”

"Russian reservists could be using "shovels" for "hand-to-hand" combat"
And despite all this Ukraine is still loosing? How crap is the Ukrainian army that it cannot even hold back let alone beat an army armed with shovels? Very, very interested in your opinion particularly after your post on cats!

Lisa ji, that's because the ukrainians crafty cats crap in the mud. The russians, unlike the earthy Ukranians, are reluctant to spoil their soviet-era shovels in the soiled mud. Ukraine army is thus able to hold it territory. All 9th Gen warfare.

If you look at videos (first person and drone) from both sides, there are many interesting things happening. I’ve seen videos of soldiers using tree branches, bagpacks, throwing guns at etc to fend off FPV drones.
Obviously, you can make your own conclusions on how rare or often these things are occurring.

Best way to counter is to provide numbers from other sources

Unbelievable, you are now justifying the shovels story! I apologise for my intrusion. Last post.
P.S. Quos Deus vult perdere, prius dementat! = Those whom God wishes to destroy, he first deprives of reason
As opposed to what? A bayonet doesn't seem like it will work well in anything other than a stabbing motion, while a shovel will be a useful melee weapon.
This entire thing is just an attempt to portray the Russian side as primitive.
When it comes to close quarter fighting anything goes, so what is the big deal ?
I remember when reports, photos & video were coming in of clashes between Indian and Chinese troops, because they were fighting with fists, clubs and throwing rocks, the western media was implying that they were to primitive to use firearms, the comments by the readers were of a similar nature.
MiG-29 flying treetops executing a rapid pull-up for tossing 2 x AASM-250 before a turning loop descending back to treetops.
Less than 20 seconds in all. Around 5 seconds exposure at the highest altitude points prior/after launch. Very little time for air defenses to react.
AASM-250 has a max range of 70km if launched at 15,000ft. Given around 5 seconds vertical climb by the MiG-29 (which is capable of max 1,000 ft/s in pull-up) before toss, we can approximate a launch altitude of around 5,000ft.
