Re: Indian Military/Defence Exports
The interesting bit is that the new rockets of 120 and 200 Km ranges will fit into the form factor of existing Pinaka launchers. I dont know how this is possible unless serious breakthroughs in materials & propellants were achieved. If so, kudos!!
Re: Indian Military/Defence Exports
Could also be smaller volume for warhead/explosive (or different warhead composition - same bang for lesser size), to give more space for the fuel.Prem Kumar wrote: ↑17 Jan 2024 11:16 The interesting bit is that the new rockets of 120 and 200 Km ranges will fit into the form factor of existing Pinaka launchers. Re: Indian Military/Defence Exports
Ok. So, it might be like a UVLS, whereby upto the 70 Km range guided Pinaka, it will be 12 barrels per launcher. And perhaps 3 or 4 per launcher for the 120 and 200 Km larger rockets
Re: Indian Military/Defence Exports
^^^
My guess would be
6 x 214 mm (100kg warhead) -> 80km
2 x ?mm (250kg warhead) -> 120km
1 x ?mm (250kg warhead) -> 200km
Once you go longer range with fewer rockets you compensate with larger warheads.

Re: Indian Military/Defence Exports
Slightly underwhelming to see that the even with the availability of the physical space with the pinaka vehicle and mounting turn table. The pod carries only 6 x122 rockets.
Re: Indian Military/Defence Exports

Based on rough sizing of spaces in between, I think each pod could hold up to 12 x 122mm rockets if packed tightly in 4x3 layout.

Morocco, TATA Group Forge Strategic Partnership for WhAP 8×8 Production
Rabat - In a tactical move towards modernizing the operational capacities of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), Morocco has teamed up with TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), a subsidiary of the Tata Group, to produce the WhAP 8×8 armored combat vehicle domestically.
The Ministry of National Defense announced that this project is a systematic step toward deepening the historical ties between Morocco and India, two emerging economies increasingly collaborating in the defense sector.
This collaboration is also part of a broader initiative to expand Morocco’s defense industry, achieve strategic autonomy, and position Morocco as a burgeoning regional player in the defense industry.
Set to be completed within thirty-six months, the project will start with a local integration rate of 35%, expected to increase to 50%. It is projected to generate 90 direct jobs and 250 indirect jobs.
The investment agreement, which features financial, fiscal, and customs incentives, was signed by ministers from various departments—including National Defense, Interior, Finance, Industry, and Investment—alongside officials from the FAR General Staff and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE).
The agreement seeks to meet local demand while boosting exports to international markets, aligning with Morocco’s and TASL’s goals of bolstering South-South cooperation and establishing a regional hub for defense mobility production.
