Really? You full well know what will happen to road blockers in time of conflict? The Indian population will only protest when mass graves are dug in their area.

What to say, Sir?Currently, the beedi rangers have "objected" to the fence building work continuing along the border and India has very "considerately" agreed to stop
Incidentally with reference to the dissolution of the Cantonment lands - guess who benefits from the non-military part being transferred to municipal authorities. No prizes for guessing. The political class who are builders themselves or their relatives are or are 'sleeping' partners with others who are the front. And the babus of the municipality who get a cut on each and every building project which come to them for approval.
The losers are of course our armed forces who will find it even more costly and difficult to have a residential property now.
The strategy is not new. It is very old.S_Madhukar wrote: ...It was successful when the first encroachment was allowed on railway land by our netas since then it has been weaponised everywhere...
I don't know if you are aware but during/immediately after the mumbai riots of the 90s there were documents captured wherein SIMI and other islamic orgs were urging the peacefuls to squat/occupy strategic points in a city/town/village. The strategic points being right next to highways, main roads, railways, airports, etc. The logic presented was to stop reaching of re-reinforcements of police, army etc.
They have achieved a lot of that in Mumbai since then - highway (Dahisar, Mira Road), S V Road (Jogeshwari), Airport (Santa Cruz), Railways (Bandra, Mira Road)

Russians have developed very powerful anti-drone electronic jamming to thwart drone attacks against them.
We need to leverage some of their expertise and build our own.

Another feather in Motabhai's cap! Tripura's last 2 insurgent groups to lay down arms and join mainstream.
If I were to scorecard him as a HM over 10 years, it will go like this:
1) North-East: A- (only blemish being Manipur. Rest of it has been brilliant)
2) J&K: B (Art 370 was great, but the recent jihadi-successes tarnishes the record. And the conduct of J&K elections without any talk of Pandit resettlement is an abomination)
3) Punjab: D (no action on drug-smuggling, proselytization, Khalistani resurgence or the farmer protest)
4) Maoism: A+ (he, alongwith Vishnu Deo Sai, have been absolutely rocking on this front)
5) Islamic terror: A+ (Zero incidences of bomb blasts inside the country, which used to be a monthly affair under Congress, NIA doing great)
6) Urban Insurgencies: C (unable to handle anti-CAA riots or Farmer protest. A deer-in-headlights approach)
7) Illegal Immigration/Deportation: D (clueless handling of NRC, not even getting a sense of how many illegals are there, no deportation plan)
8 ) Protection of Hindus: B (though Islamic terror has vastly reduced fatalities, below-the-threshold, jihadi killings/love-jihad etc continue unabated)
9) Narco-terror: B+ (doing quite well, with lots of drug-busts on land & sea, but Punjab is out of control and TN is slowly getting there)
10) Other Separatisms: A (TN/Dravidistan tendencies have been kept in serious check)
11) Ambedkarism (weaponized using DEI, ESG, Critical Race Theory): Too early to rank (its an emerging threat, but Govt treating it as a political problem, rather than a social-engineering/academia problem is worrisome)
My list is not comprehensive. I have left out policy changes like Police Reforms etc. The sheer magnitude & diversity of these programs show how hard/stressful it is to be a competent Home Minister in India!
Full marks to Amit Shah. His experience in being the HM for Gujarat makes him ideal for this job. He is heads & shoulders above any other HM this country has seen. The fact that he does double duty, playing the role of BJP President (even now, with Nadda, nothing happens without his approval I am sure), makes it tremendously impressive!
You can see its impact on him - poor man looks frail these days. May God grant him good health & a full life

3 attempts to derail trains, 2 instances of stone pelting in past one week: Railways
Three attempts to derail trains and two instances of pelting of stones in the past one week point to criminal intent of miscreants, railway ministry officials said highlighting how this “wave” of incidents has become a major cause of concern.
They added that the collision of a train on Sunday evening with a cooking cylinder kept on the tracks in Kanpur did not result in any major mishap as the loco pilot applied emergency brakes in time. Officials said the police discovered petrol and matches at the scene, indicating criminal intention.
Recently, Pakistan-based terrorist Farhatullah Ghori had released a video on Telegram exhorting his followers to orchestrate large-scale train derailments and urged them to “target the supply chain to cripple their infrastructure”.
Re: Internal Security Watch
Need amendment in IPC or Railway Act to have separate section on acts intended to derail or damage trains with stringent punishments (including attempt to murder charges / terrorism charges). Any such derailment can kill dozens of people. Should be nipped in the bud with retributive jail sentences.
Re: Internal Security Watch
These should be treated as Terrorists - an attempt to Kill rail crew and Passengers, shoot at sight is required.

Might be wise to bring it under the ambit of Section 299 in BNS.sanjayc wrote: ↑10 Sep 2024 13:22 Need amendment in IPC or Railway Act to have separate section on acts intended to derail or damage trains with stringent punishments (including attempt to murder charges / terrorism charges). It has to be extended to include public infrastructure like airports, ports, bridges, roads, media, etc. Make it non-bailable, with minimum at least 5 years and up to life imprisonment, extendable to death sentence if it results in the death of people. We need something equivalent like the 'Crying Fire in a Crowded Theatre."Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.
Whoever, with deliberate and malicious intention of outraging the religious feelings
of any class of citizens of India, by words, either spoken or written, or by signs or by visible
representations or through electronic means or otherwise, insults or attempts to insult the
religion or the religious beliefs of that class, shall be punished with imprisonment of either
description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.
IPC 299-
299. Culpable homicide.—
Whoever causes death by doing an act with the intention of causing death, or with the intention of causing such bodily injury as is likely to cause death, or with the knowledge that he is likely by such act to cause death, commits the offence of culpable homicide.

Since each Muslim is exhorted to do his bit for Jihad & since these losers don't have a life-purpose other than the suicidal one their religion gives them, there can be N number of creative ways in which they can do harm
Real examples: Ob-gyn sterilizing Kufr women; mixing birth-control medication in Temple prasad; poisoning public wells etc. Tomorrow, someone will fly a remote controlled drone with explosives into a Hindu crowd. The list is endless.
We have to deal with this in a sub-linear way because we cannot afford 1 law per crime. We need broad categorizations, easy guidelines to slot each crime into a category & draconian implementation

Abujhmad straddles between Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, is known as ‘unknown hill’ as the 6,000 sq km of thick forest has not been surveyed since the British era. The jungle is the epicenter of Maoist activities and about a dozen senior cadres of CPI (Maoist) are said to be still camping there.

But its towards the end that we must be really careful. The elimination should be total, because like we have seen with Khalistan, smoldering embers can be rekindled with ease at any time.
Secondly, we have the upper hand because the Maoists are not trained in using AK-47s, grenades etc - at least not in any significant way. Imagine if China/US/Pak smuggles these to them. Then, even a 100 core Maoists in the jungles can wreak havoc, like we are seeing in J&K. So, its important to prevent this from happening. There is still a tough road ahead. I hope that Amit Shah doesn't prematurely declare victory, like he did in J&K

Some external force is not allowing Congress to die. It gets mysteriously resurrected whenever its demise is imminent. Its seats tally jumps suddenly, shocking everyone including pollsters and against all exit poll results. This has happened twice so far, in 2002 and last elections. Even 99 seat tally is suspicious, as if to notch as high as possible in two figures, stopping just ahead of breaching the three figure mark so as not to arouse doubt. Tellingly, that charlatan Yogendra Yadav has begun to praise EVMs. He was the only one to predict Congress tally right before elections. Something doesn't compute. There was one election survey that also popped up two days before counting, which had the Congress tally right (as if belated attempts to say "no, there were some exit polls that got it right too about Congress.") Some kind of EVM manipulation is happening, otherwise such unnatural results are not possible. If Modi is smart, he will start compulsory counting of VVPAT slips to verify the EVM results. (I guarantee you - Congis will be the first one to protest against this.)

Then West won't be able to single us out for pressure, when all the Global South countries show solidarity.

If we read the history of India we will clearly know that Congress itself was established with the blessings of the then colonizing power- UK. Initially freedom fighters like Annie Besant was working on theories, law drafts which talked about giving Indians some power over themselves, with UK calling the final shots. It is an obvious fact that Congress and its initial leadership were all groomed by the British to run the country pretty much as a dominion of UK (though Independent for namesake). So from then on this party has been given right guidance, mentoring & coaching to run India as a colony. And they continue to get that.sanman wrote:We need more aggressive & intrusive monitoring of foreign money inflows.
Think about it, the Break India Forces waited for 10 years to see if Pappu & Co where able to manage things by themselves. They failed, and the BIF was ready with the helping hand. The BIF has now clearly identified the fault lines in the Indian society (which the British had identified way back in 1700-1800s itself). And now Congress would be given step by step instructions on how to further widen these fault lines. To be honest; NaMo & BJP at time seems to be the old Maharajahs who had some vision and control over their small to midsized kingdoms. But they are yet to grasp the complete picture of a diverse nation such as India. They have a strict sense of financial prudence & discipline (which every Gujarathi will have), but not realising that there is a huge non-business-minded population in India who still are freeloaders relying on excuses like caste superiority, easy job with fat pension etc.
The problem with Maoist menace in their current area of dominance is the nature (jungle) and the total apathy of the previous rulers/governments. The Maoist problem was left uncontrolled in the initial days itself. And this could again be a Congress game for short term victory (a version of the Khalistan & Bhindranwale problem). So what the previous "secular" governments could fix by a minor suture, now BJP governments would have to do a major surgery to fix. Kerala had a naxal problem in 1960s-1970s. But this was firmly dealt with INC & CPI governments. Off course there was police highhandedness, but the Maoists in Kerala then and there realised that police can use their favourite "extermination theory" (ഉന്മൂലന സിദ്ധാന്തം) against them as well. That was a revelation which turned Maoists to Sai Baba devotees and start praising the lord etc.Prem Kumar wrote:Secondly, we have the upper hand because the Maoists are not trained in using AK-47s, grenades etc - at least not in any significant way. I suspect katari funds flowing through hawala channels behind this, from money generated from our own gas purchases. Cripple rail and air to set the stage for chaos. Huge chaos and calls for HM to step down, mudi must regine and you can imagine the rest...

^^ Problem is that routine sections of IPC are applied in these cases, which have zero deterrence. Need special and harsher laws for railway sabotage, hoax bomb calls, cyber fraud (digital arrest, etc.), phone / chain snatchings and the flourishing business of making fake ID papers of illegal immigrants. Add new sections in law to specifically cover these with stiff prison terms

But what can you do when the highest office of the judiciary the SC has explicitly stated, on record, that 'Bail must be the rule, Jail must be the exception'
The SC has admonished high courts for not giving bail in cases of murder, rape, arson.... there was a case recently of a kashmiri jihadi grenade thrower terrorist out on bail who went into hiding.

ToIlet - Money laundering case: SC grants bail to Mukhtar Ansari's son Abbas
The Supreme Court granted bail to MLA Abbas Ansari on Friday in a money laundering case. Ansari, the son of the late gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari, received the relief from a bench comprising Justices M M Sundresh and Pankaj Mithal.
SC had sought a response from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on an appeal by Ansari challenging the Allahabad high court's order. On May 9, the high court rejected Ansari's bail plea, citing sufficient evidence linking him to money laundering activities through two firms, M/s Vikas Construction and M/s Aaghaaz.
The high court observed, "Considering the material available on record, including the flow charts which clearly demonstrate the origin of funds and also explains how the funds found their way into the accounts of the accused Ansari, this court finds him not entitled for a bail at this stage."

Six workers, doctor killed in terrorist attack in Kashmir
Times Of India
TNN | Oct 21, 2024, 12.23 AM IST
SRINAGAR: Suspected Pakistani terrorists shot dead six labourers and a doctor, firing automatic weapons around 8.15 pm Sunday at a camp housing workers employed by a private company building a tunnel in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
The fatalities included Dr Shahnawaz from Budgam in central Kashmir; migrant workers Gurmeet Singh from Punjab’s Gurdaspur, Anil Kumar Shukla and Shashi Abrol; and locals Faheem Nazir, Mohd Hanief, and Abdul Kaleem. Several others were wounded in the biggest and fifth targeted attack in Kashmir this year.
Sunday’s attack is the second since the new coalition government led by CM Omar Abdullah assumed office in J&K on October 16. Omar, who represents Ganderbal assembly constituency, posted on X: “Very sad news of a dastardly and cowardly attack on non-local labourers… The casualty figure from the Gagangir attack is not final as there are a number of injured labourers, both local & non-local.”
Sources said locals were also wounded in the attack on a temporary camp near the construction site of Apco Infratech, which is building the 6.5 km Z-Morh tunnel for all-weather connectivity between Gagangir and the tourist hub of Sonamarg. The highway connects Kashmir valley with Ladakh. The project was nearly complete and was slated to be inaugurated in the first week of November.
Union home minister Amit Shah condemned the killings and promised that those “involved in this heinous act will not be spared and will face the harshest response from our security forces”. “At this moment of immense grief, I extend my sincerest condolences to the families of the deceased. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured,” he posted on X.
Highways minister Nitin Gadkari also condemned the terrorist attack, saying the “innocent labourers” were engaged in a vital infrastructure project in Gagangir. “I offer my humble tribute to the martyred labourers and extend my deepest condolences to their families during this difficult time.”
The attack also underscored the disturbing trend of violence against non-native people. On Friday, the body of a 30-year-old man from Bihar’s Banka district was found riddled with bullets in a maize field in south Kashmir’s Shopian district. On April 8, a tourist cab driver from Delhi was critically wounded in Shopian, while a 35-year-old labourer from Bihar was shot dead in Anantnag on April 17. Earlier in Feb, two men from Punjab were killed in Srinagar.
Sources said the doctor and two workers died on the spot, while the others were rushed to a nearby hospital, where four more were pronounced dead. Five of the critically wounded were shifted to SKIMS hospital in Srinagar.
The terrorists targeted the workers near the mess area where they had gathered for dinner. Kashmir zone IGP VK Birdi said: “The shooting happened in a densely forested area.” Security forces have launched an operation to track down the attackers, with the area currently under cordon.
The Union territory has recorded a surge in terrorist violence this summer, claiming the lives of 22 security personnel since May 4, including 18 in Jammu and four in Kashmir. Speaking on the security situation, Army’s 15 Corps GoC Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai said around 80 terrorists are active in the region

Re: Internal Security Watch
Unsurprisingly a small dargah complex has come up right on a hill adjacent to the new Mumbai airport. Folks have taken up on X. While right now only some spotters are using it , this is exactly the land and security j* had we worry about. There are already plenty of dargahs around the slums around the old airport which are “ tourist” spots for the faithful

excerpts of the action undertaken by Capt Reena VarugheseFlying high and dropping low: How a daring woman copter pilot saved wounded commando
In a daring rescue mission, Capt Reena Varughese saved a wounded commando during an eight-hour operation against Maoists in Gadchiroli. On Monday, Varughese, flying a Dauphin-N Pawan Hans helicopter, entered the Maoist stronghold 100 km from Gadchiroli to assist a C-60 commando wounded by gunfire, reported The Times of India.
Capt Varughese acted quickly, despite the chopper being a visible target for the Maoists' drones. Unable to land in the rocky, forested terrain, she handed control of the chopper to her co-pilot and jumped from an 11-foot hover to reach the injured commando. This commando had been bleeding for three hours from three gunshot wounds.
Drawing on her experience from past rescue missions in high-risk Maoist areas, Varughese managed the evacuation efficiently.
