a similar thing happened in ajmer, India many years ago and that shameful event lasted for many years, involving tens of thousands of young female children and it was largely swept under the sickular carpet because of vote bank considerations

It is a phenomenon seen in families throughout the world every day. When the parents play favorites among their own children, playing off one wastrel child against the high-achieving one. The father/ mother sees one child as being incapable of doing any wrong, and all the blame goes to the other one, contrary to all evidence. The one child grows up spoiled and entitled, exhibiting an escalating pattern of bad behavior, while the other one is constantly taunted and humiliated and told to humor the wastrel child.

The second child quietly does whatever (s)he can to build h** own life and move out at the earliest. The parent(s) get stuck with the wastrel, until they realize their folly (if at all) too late, in their dotage. And then they are powerless, because the high-achiever has moved on and cut off contact, while the wastrel is in a dominating position in the house.

The western world truly saw themselves in a paternal role over the unwashed heathens, and played favorites with one group against the other. Now the western world is in their dotage, and karma is starting to catch up. We'll see how it goes.
