To summarize Mahfuj Alam's thought - Chittaranjan Das and Sarat Bose and Suhrawardy and so on, all wanted a united independent greater Bengal. One of the goals of the Lahore Resolution was to establish such a state. While lower caste Hindus in Bengal supported the Lahore Resolution, reactionary Hindu upper castes, Congress, HIndu Mahasabha, etc. sabotaged this; . So the Partition of 1947 and the 1971 liberation from West Pakistan were two necessary detours in this goal of an independent greater Bengal. The revolution of 2024 is the next step in this evolution.

A brief summary will introduce some distortion, but I think this is accurate enough.

From the newspapers - usually reliable ones :

Exercise Aman-2025: Where Navies Come to Bounce:
- Exercise Aman-2025, the multinational naval exercise hosted by Pakistan : Details-
- This year's exercise features a new component: "Rebounding," a high-intensity trampolining workout designed to improve sailors' agility and core strength.

The Bangladesh Navy Ship (BNS) Samudra Joy, which is going to arrive in Karachi on Sunday, will be the first to take the rebounding challenge. Sailors from participating nations, including the US, China, and Russia, gathered to watch the Bangladeshis bounce their way to naval supremacy.

"It's not just about the trampolines," said Captain Rashid of the BNS Samudra Joy. "It's about trust, teamwork, and not face-planting in front of your colleagues."

The rebounding competition was just one part of Exercise Aman-2025, which also included more traditional naval exercises like ship-to-ship combat and maritime security drills...

But IMO be real, folks – the real action is going to be on the trampolines.
Who knew naval warfare could be so bouncy ?

The BNP is complaining that all educational institutions have been captured by the Jamaat.
https://www.dhakatribune.com/bangladesh ... -have-been

IMO, the Bangla political universe has a divide - those that realize a working relationship with India is necessary, and those that want unconditional hostility like that of Pakistan. The lot currently in charge are the latter camp. They will do anti-Hindu riots, provoke border incidents, do bhai-bhai with Pakistan, talk of expanding Bangladesh’s borders, etc., to force the issue.

Soros:
https://www.dhakatribune.com/bangladesh ... ed-freedom
Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus said that Bangladesh's media currently has unparalleled freedom, but a flood of misinformation is sweeping across social media platforms.

He made these remarks during a meeting with leaders from the Open Society Foundations (OSF) on Wednesday, who were in Bangladesh to discuss efforts in economic restructuring, tackling illicit financial flows, combating misinformation, and implementing critical reforms.

The delegation, led by OSF Chairman Alex Soros and President Binaifer Nowrojee expressed their support for the interim government’s reform agenda.

When seemingly unending political street-battles gripped Bangladesh in late 2006, the United Nations pushed the country’s military in a circuitous way to take over the administration, brazenly violating its own charter that bars the world institution from interfering in any member state’s internal affairs.

The UN coerced the reluctant Bangalee generals by threatening them with the loss of their participation in international peacekeeping jobs, which are highly prized by Bangladesh’s armed forces. On 11 January 2007, the military grudgingly agreed to rule the country from behind the scenes and created a facade of a civilian administration with an ailing president and a rubber-stamp council of advisers, who acted as cabinet ministers. This unprecedented political posture was dubbed as “one-eleven” in Bangladesh, mimicking “nine-eleven” in the United States.

Pulling strings from behind, the generals in collusion with some “halftelactuals,” or the so-called intellectuals-cum-civil-society thinkers, drew up a misguided agenda; they hatched a plan to send into exile the “two ladies,” the two former prime ministers who lead the country’s two main political parties. In essence, the army sought to send Sheikh Hasina, daughter of the nation’s founding president, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and Khaleda Zia, widow of another assassinated president, General Ziaur Rahman, into political oblivion. This experiment, which came to be known in popular parlance in Bangladesh as the “minus two” theory, was an apparent attempt to rid the nation of 165 million people of its dysfunctional dynastic rule.
The generals initially invited 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner professor Mohammad Yunus to run the military-backed regime, but the U.S.-trained economist-turned-microfinance-pioneer declined to swallow the bait. He realized the peril of assuming state power with the help of the khakis. But he eventually succumbed to the temptation and decided to throw his prestige into the messy ring of Bangalee politics, committing the gravest blunder of his life yet. In his game plan, the Nobel laureate counted on his eighty-five million soldiers of Grameen Bank to serve as vanguards of his political revolution and crown him with victory. By doing so, he grossly miscalculated the intrinsic power of the politicians who are backed by indoctrinated, die-hard cadres and well-established political machinery.

Amber ji,

Looks like the agents of regime change operation are now openly challenging US President Donald Trump.

or is it affirmation of the fact that this regime change ops is basically against India

george soros's son meeting with beedi interim administrator youanus confirms the soros-linked ecosystem's meddling in south asia is blessed the BIF to destabilize India.

Who else in the sub-continent, particularly in India, is an undeclared agent of the soros chaos caucus?

sam the pitroda says why are you stopping soros, let him do his thing and you do your thing

Sam Pitroda, the Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress and Congress scion Rahul Gandhi’s close aide, has defended Hungarian-American billionaire and regime-change enthusiast George Soros. Notably, Soros is notorious for funding anti-India activities and advancing anti-India narratives, which are aimed at undermining the democratically elected government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pitroda defended Soros’s interference in Indian affairs while lamenting how the ‘civil society’ is not being allowed to operate in India.

In a virtual meeting hosted by Overseas Congress general secretary (West Coast) Shanmugavel Shankaran on 4th January, Sam Pitroda spoke about the supposed decline in civil engagement and claimed that civil society is “not allowed” to function in several cases.

“In India if you want to send donation from America to any NGO, it is a major task. I don’t know why it is that complicated. But it is. Because everybody is afraid. Look at the kind of attacks you have on [George] Soros. I don’t make sense to me. He [Soros] is doing his stuff, you do you stuff. You cannot agree with him that’s okay. But you can’t say he is interfering in India and doing this and doing that. But that’s how our discourse is,” Pitroda said.

Well now we know who is funding congress and rahul, sonia dynasty

Regarding reports of a potential ban on the Awami League, Nahid remarked that the government has not yet reached a conclusion. He noted that legal proceedings are ongoing and expressed a desire to wait for the tribunal's judgment.

"The court's opinion is crucial, and there are also political discussions surrounding this issue," he added. '

Nahid emphasized that the matter is not solely legal but also political.

From a personal perspective, Nahid said that the Awami League, after having exercised what he called fascism for 15 years and being involved in the July-August genocide, should not be allowed to continue political activities in Bangladesh.

"We believe the Awami League should not have the opportunity to engage in politics under its current name and banner," he said.

Pre-Sheikh Hasina, in 2000, Bangladesh poverty rate was 48.9%. ( World Bank https://documents1.worldbank.org/curate ... uction.pdf )

Post-Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh poverty rate is 19.2% (today's Dhaka Tribute https://www.dhakatribune.com/bangladesh ... ow-poverty)

What happened in between? Aha! but for Sheikh Hasina and Indian Hindutva fascist interference, the poverty rate in Bangladesh would have been -101%, the only country in the world with a negative poverty rate.

India's financial assistance to Bangladesh, as proposed in the annual budget for financial year 2025-26 presented in parliament today, remains unchanged at last year's level of Rs 120 crore ($13.84 million).

The latest Indian budget enhanced the assistance by 28.5 percent to the Maldives to Rs 600 crore from Rs 400 crore in the previous budget.

The 2025-26 budgetary assistance to Bhutan has been pegged at Rs 2,150 crore, a decrease from Rs 2,543.28 crore in the last budget.

The new budget provides for Rs 100 crore for Afghanistan with whom India's relations have of late seen an upward trajectory.

India's assistance to its two other South Asian neighbours Nepal and Sri Lanka in the latest budget has been retained at last year's levels of Rs 700 crore and Rs 300 crore respectively.

The budget for 2025-26 provides assistance of Rs 350 crore to Myanmar.
...
...
The budgetary allocation for border infrastructure saw a sharp 87% rise — from Rs 2,794.57 crore to Rs 5,237.93 crore. This will be spent on the check posts along the international border and setting up surveillance infrastructure.

apologies if this has been covered already; i recently came across the following article:

https://apnews.com/article/bangladesh-b ... d12548e8b5
TONGI, Bangladesh (AP) — Tens of thousands of people gathered on a riverbank near Bangladesh’s capital on Friday to listen to sermons by Islamic scholars at the Biswa Ijtema, or global congregation of Muslim devotees.

The three-day annual event will end Sunday when hundreds of thousands of Muslims are expected to join final prayers like every year. This is the first phase of Biswa Ijtema, while the second phase will be held Feb. 3-5. The third phase will be held Feb. 14-16.

Biswa Ijtema is one of the largest gatherings of Muslim devotees, held on the sandy banks of the Turag River in Tongi, just north of Dhaka, the capital. The event dates back to the 1950s when the Tablighi Jamaat movement started hosting the event.

About 2,150 foreign Muslims from 72 countries were among the tens of thousands of Bangladeshis who joined the first phase of the congregation, said Habibullah Raihan, a spokesman of the organizing committee.

He said that scholars and clerics from India, Pakistan and other countries delivered their sermons on the tenants of Islam as the devotees slept in tents erected on the riverbank.
now this event, the biswa ijtema, is the second largest congregation of mohemeddans annually just after the annual pilgrimage to iraq every year by the shiities, and quite ahead in terms of gathered capacity than the annual hajj, and it is organised by the tablighi jamaat, and was started in 1946

Image

place at the topmost of the image
one of the largest peaceful gatherings in the world, and the second-largest Muslim gathering, with 5 million adherents,[2] after the Arba'een Pilgrimage's 15–20 million attendees in Iraq,[3] both surpassing the 2–3 million worshipers who participate in the Hajj

In 1946, the first annual conference of Tablighi Jamaat or Ijtema in the region what today called Bangladesh was held at Kakrail Mosque near Ramna Park in Dhaka.[13] In 1954, after the Bengali Tabhlighi Jamaat movement officially started their activities in Dhaka, East Bengal,[1] the first Ijtemas were organized by them at Haji Camp in Chittagong (1954)[13] and in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj (1958),[13] followed by Ijtemas at the old venue of Ramna Race Course in Dhaka in 1960, 1962 and 1965.[1] In 1967, Due to the increasing numbers of participants, the government of East Pakistan allowed organizers to schedule the event annually in the current venue at Pagar village field in Tongi by the River Turag.[13][1] Since then, the event became known as the "Bishwa Ijtema", attendees from different countries of the world took part.[13] Before this, the it was simply called "Ijtema". From 1972 onwards, the Bishwa Ijtema is being held in the large open field of 160 acre, along the north-eastern bank of the River Turag (Qahar Darya), allotted by the Government of Bangladesh.[
some recent news
In December 2024, clashes broke out at the venue between the factions of Tablighi Jamaat headed by Maulana Zubair Ahmed, imam of the Kakrail mosque & Maulana Muhammad Saad Kandhalvi, which lead to the death of 8 & injuring 50 others. The venue had to be emptied by the police & military personnel. Followers of Ahmed have demanded that the interim government declare the followers of Kandhalvi to be a 'terrorist organisation'.
now kandhalvi is a head of his own version of the tablighi, and this split in the tj seems to be of a recent variety, occurring in 2015-16
according to The Milli Gazette, the senior members of the Tablighi Jamaat from around the world met at the Pakistan regional markaz at Raiwind in 2015 and resolved that the organisation would be governed by a shura. Raiwind amir Muhammad Abdul Wahhab who was a member of the original shura backed this effort.[3][15] Kandhlawi did not accept the recommendations of the meeting, causing a split in the organisation.[3]

The friction led to division of the Tablighi Jamaat leadership into two groups, the first being led by Muhammad Saad Kandhlawi at the Nizamuddin Markaz, while the other being led by Ibrahim Dewla, Ahmed Laat and others at Nerul Markaz, Navi Mumbai in India.[16] The Raiwind Markaz in Pakistan is part of the latter group and has become the "de facto base" of the shura group.
