bala gaaru, a question re Prachyam. I would like to subscribe. Only problem is that I want to see it on Samsung Smart TV, i.e. which is connected to my home wifi access point. Do I have to screen cast from my phone or I can watch premium content on TV directly on Youtube or whatever (Vimeo?)

Vayu ji - highly technical subjects. But there is google chromecast which is plugged into TV HDMI. Phone to TV is thus possible. Some smart TV have youtube as an app, but typing into the app requires a good remote with full fledged characters to type, otherwise can become laborious. Alternatively you can connect laptop via HDMI to TV and watch movies, youtube, etc. You can get HDMI infrared connectors, no need for hard wiring, two dongles one on laptop, the other on TV.

Dear Moderators -

(modified post from one that I just made in the India-US thread)

As I understand this is a forum for Indians to debate/examine issues from any possible angle. Since we are not Americans and do not have any affiliation with foreign political parties we can put ourselves in anyone's shoes at any given time - be it a "rightie", "leftie", "commie", "dictator", whatever - in order to understand issues of relevance. It is none of anyone else's business.

Input from foreign posters is welcome if there is value in it. However, a small group of US posters seems to think they are entitled to assert their own US domestic political partisanship and biases with a constant repetitive drone. Nothing of value is added. This has disrupted the discussion for those whom this forum is intended for.

Is BRF going to become a place infested with biases and alien viewpoints that we do not own ? This is like what happened in the Military section where a few people took on the mantle of pushing/advertising foreign weapons from a particular country. The same thing seems to be happening on the Strategic section.

And on top of that, these people are being abusive, and targeting posters such as myself personally based on whom THEY think I should be supporting in the US. Who the eff are these people to do this here ?

Goddamned nuisance, I say.

You have been reminded time and time again, to not post videos without providing a description. For whatever reason, you do not seem to heed that advice. I warned you about a lifetime ban, but you do not want to follow guidance. At this point, it is best served (including you!) that you do not post on BRF henceforth. Thank You. Goodbye.

Mods,

This member "KL Dubey" is becoming abusive and throwing personal bad language at members. Two examples are given:

1. At me: Bala with the following: Bakwaas band karo

2. At member Cyrano with the following: baguette-in-the-wrong-orifice attitude is even more tiresome

This is not proper. He/She needs to argue based on strong reasons instead of becoming abusive.

maitya, I have updated those two posts. Make sure that the the heading is at the right place in the second post.

For tabular form, please use the 'code' function <> icon just above the posting window. You may have to do some trial & error to get alignment.

Mods,
Once again, this member "KL Dubey" is becoming abusive :

Here is another example with phrases like i) childish obsession and ii) prevents any sort of "mature adult" discussion or understanding

The member can make his/her point without calling others as children or not "mature adult".

Please take some action.

Mods, I am ready to move my last two posts from the Physics thread as Amber G. earlier requested. I can't do it now. Please move that posts to Miscellaneous thread.

It looks like Amber G. suddenly stopped posting after that incident.

Mods this poster "KL Dubey" continues to use abusive language against other members. Here are some examples:

against me: "psychotic posters who believe" and

"use BRF as a dump site for their trash-talking and pyschosis"

this against Vimal:

"Vimal Bullshit"

"assisted/senior living home. Find one and please retire"

These Angrez phrases are an indirect attack and personal name-calling, instead of arguing a point without getting personal. Many of the issues are foreign nations reporting from one side or the other. Posters are simply pointing out to what is happening in those nations as reported in the media of the nation. But poster "KL Dubey" takes it personally and attacks others if things are not according to his "thinking". This is a repeated pattern in many of his postings. I think it warrants a "warning" from the Mods at least.

^^This is not true.

1) I do think the content of the posts you mentioned above are indeed psychotic or trash-talking - and I provided reasons why I think so. I am well within my rights to point this out, and did it out of genuine compassion, not malice. Nobody is forcing you to take my suggestion seriously.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychosis
Psychosis is a condition of the mind or psyche that results in difficulties determining what is real and what is not real.
Again, I provided reasoned responses to you with real information. However, these are usually met with virulent opposition/insecurity and a verbal diarrhea of repetitive terms/pejoratives. This leads a reasonable person to believe there is something seriously wrong with these posts.

I do agree, perhaps "psychotic posts" would have been better usage than "psychotic posters". You can take it from me that I do mean the former, not the latter (which I agree is not my problem).

2) Your own post above says that you are "reporting various events". While you can post away as much as you like, some posters like myself may feel there is no value in just dumping info here. I am well within my rights to say that. Most people can read this stuff in any online newspaper/other outlet. "Understanding/discussing/analyzing" is different from constantly dumping photos/links/youtube videos/WA forwards etc with nothing but a few trite comments. One poster ("sanman") already got a lifetime ban for dumping youtube videos here.

3) Nevertheless, I have already provided cogently argued responses in all my posts. However, certain posters reply with an agenda based on whatever US political party/person they support, and personally attack me. In some cases, the abuse was persistent and I blocked them. In other cases, I gave it back in the same vein to show the mirror. If you don't like my posts for some reason, block me. I am not interested in seeing/tracking/replying to any of your posts other than incidentally.

4) Most importantly, I am not targeting or labeling you or anyone in any deliberate or patterned manner. Disagreements and frustration between posters do occur, leading to heated exchanges. However, I can demonstrate that some posters (not you) have been consistently targeting and falsely labeling my posts even when they have been blocked and I do not respond to them at all. Yet they demand attention, which is also a demonstrated trait of stalking.

I have been experiencing the same problem; at first I put it down to the fact that I am abroad, but your post confirms that it affects local subscribers too. Hope that admins can get to the root of it.

went googling to see if brf was mentioned on some discord server or something for it to have an unusually high number of lurkers at once, could not find any mention, did see that dfi of yusuf and singh fame closed on 10th july last year, there's another site, one dfb that seems to have replaced it, in skin if not in spirit, or at least that was my observation for the couple of minutes i was there, maybe some ex-dfi members are leaking onto this site..

i dont know how the moderators feel talking about other forums, i was on dfi before i came on brf, but even for the time i was there, i thought the big boss, the user singh, was a bit dodgy, still remember the thread where he claimed he was a direct descendant of lord ram, i didnt stay long after that

other than that, all the "thinkers" have moved onto or started with xitter for the hottest of takes and the weeniest of fights, reading most of their posts feels as griftworthy as any financial influencer on linkedin who has retired at 35 and spends the rest of his days tutoring others to do that as well, free of charge of course, if not in content then definitely in how they present information in small child like information portions with their 1/n threads

The DDoS is still ongoing - 16209 users apparently. I think the DDoS bots are mostly targetting the index page that has the forum listing. Might be an idea to serve that up separately from another process as the rest of the forum pages…

Since 2000, we have outspent the Pukes in a ratio of 5:1 in 2000 to 8 or 9:1 in recent years.. If we are unable to respond in a dharmic, military way to target those who put together the politco-social-mil architecture of Pak, that results in these non stop attacks, it will be a catastrophe. The Indian ocean will not be deep enough for the military, political and bureaucratic leadership to hide their shame.
The Armed Forces do not need lectures from you on how & when to conduct the strikes. What needs to be done, will be done.

The last thing the forum needs is distractions and time spent in responding to posts like yours. The matter is serious and so should the discussion be.
