Terror Attack Targets Tourists In J&K’s Pahalgam, Multiple Deaths Feared, At Least 20 Injured

Terrorists struck a prime tourist location of Pahalgham in South Kashmir on Tuesday, killing multiple people and injuring at least 20.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the death toll is still being ascertained. “This attack is much larger than anything we’ve seen directed at civilians in recent years,” he said on X.
The incident occurred at around 3 PM when terrorists came down from the mountain in Baisaran valley and started firing at the tourists who frequent the place which is often dubbed as ‘mini Switzerland’ because of its long lush green meadows.

According to initial reports, the terrorists emerged from the dense pine forest surrounding the Baisaran, which was a famous spot for Bollywood movie makers in 1980s.

There would be cry for retaliation, most of it would be genuine anger. But there can be pre-planned anger protests etc, organised by "progressive secular forces" to show Modi & Co in poor light, or to force their hands for a heavy (and proven) retaliation.

NEW DELHI: As many as 26 people, mainly tourists, were killed on Tuesday in a terrorist attack in the Baisaran Valley area of Pahalgam, located in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, reported news agency PTI. The 26 dead included two foreigners and two locals, a high ranking official said without getting into details.
The gunshots were reportedly heard in the Valley, a popular tourist destination often referred to as "mini-Switzerland," prompting the immediate deployment of security forces to the area.

These pigs had implied after the Balochistan train attacks that they were going to respond. My interpretation - I could be wrong - is that they believed India was behind it.

Forget the justification behind that posturing.

So get this, even after the Pakistani Army chief says that 'Kashmir' is our jugular vein and even as the US Vice President is visiting our country...knowing very well that it is the modus operandi of the Pakistanis to stage high visibility attacks...our moronic and unimaginative security establishment was giving each other handjobs while terrorists have slaughtered 28 civilians. And our great security forces with the fighter jets, nuclear submarines, hypersonic missiles and laser beams is left scratching it's b***s once again...because we have no proxy forces which can stage a similar attack inside Pakistan. Once again Pakistan has shown that no matter what the count & state of weaponry we possess, they can come in, remove our pants and give our b***s a good squeeze at a TIME and PLACE of THEIR choosing. ^ in righteous anger, don't forget that an Indian army soldier was killed in an anti-terrorists operation just a few days ago.

And in today's attack also a young Navy officer has been killed alongwith his wife. Reports on X say he was married just a few days ago.

IAF fighter aircraft squadron strength has dropped down to 30. Modi govt. had 11 years to resolve this. Six modern squadrons would set back TSP 50 years.

While I sympathise with IA the so called security grid has become a joke when soldiers are being picked in 1-2s . It seems CI ops has become like traffic police. That strategy had its time. Why don’t we violate ceasefire in spring to prevent crossings. Also when this massacre started could we dial a drone to take these pigs out! Again I know terrain etc but we should be having drone armies for both SAR and kinetic precisely because we can’t have boots everywhere.

Need to destroy Pakistan.

Diplomacy side, India should invite the Balochs to set up a government in exile in India; and an unofficial mission. Diplomatic recognition to follow.

NRIs, your local Indian grocery store carries products from Pakistan. Tell them you need them not to stock anything from Pakistan if they want your patronage and good will.

India should put as much pressure as it can that IMF should make no further disbursements to Pakistan.

Covert action and military action also must follow.

This summer is turning out to be brutal. I do not think we can continue with IWT with this environment. Given the way world order is being reshaped and agreements being renegotiated/unilaterally revoked, I doubt it will lead to any negative impact on any Indian bilaterals. Given that the IWT was arranged by World Bank, which is in process of becoming irrelevant, IWT should be junked as well. No big announcement on this, just stop observing any stipulations of the agreement. Let the pakis cry.

I don't think we will go that far right now. That will be too much of an escalation. It is also prudent to collect fool proof evidence of Pakistani Army/ISI/govt involvement. That can be circulated to foreign powers by our diplomats. Some in Europe, the US opposition, and China for sure are going to stop us from taking revenge on the puppet masters sitting in Slum-a-bad and Pindi.
