Well, the Americans are not going to get it from India, as I doubt that they would share anything with India in similar situations where India might be interested in knowing about a captured weapon of a potential adversary.drnayar wrote: ↑09 May 2025 14:14 Fully intact PL 15 recovered from inside indian territory

Designed to target aircraft from a distance of approximately 200 to 300
kilometers, the PL-15 is considered a signicant leap in Chinaʼs aerial warfare
technology. It features an active radar homing guidance system and is
equipped with a two-way data link, allowing it to receive mid-course updates
from the launch platform or other sources such as AWACS aircraft.
Studying such a missile would allow Indian defence scientists and engineers to analyse its internal systems — seeker, propulsion, datalink, and electronic counter-countermeasures.
Additionally, India could use this intelligence to enhance the readiness and
tuning of its ground-based air defence systems like S-400 to intercept similar
threats.
The americans would certainly be interested as well !!

This is because they are air-defense nude, and know that India will likely not attack by air if civilian flights are in the area.Jay wrote: ↑09 May 2025 10:52 Looking at flight radar, pakis are reopening their airports. Just in the last 30 mins, around 10 planes took off from Islamabad, & Lahore airports. They would not have restarted these flights if they are still thinking about escalating. Either whatever happened in the last 48 hours is where it stays, or this is a temporary lull before it picks back up in the evening.

From this press conference it seems it’s over. No more offensive actions planned or threatened from our side.
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
what the hell are the reporters asking? religious places, imf bailouts? why not ask the most important question, is it on or done for?
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
What is the point of having such briefings? There is not much new information. Why keep postponing till evening to come and say only this. May be they were planning for some big announcement but did not work out. Otherwise this does not make sense at all.
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
The battle is over when Pakistan falls silent. That was stated on day 1.
The war is ongoing. If IWT comes back into force, then you will know that the war ended (and with an Indian climbdown).

Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
No mention of enemy Aircraft Pilot in briefing, it se3ms India has given an offramp to Pakistan, given the scale of attack it is pretty meek.
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
Pretty standard briefing so far
: They tried attacking,We successfully defended . Few casualties in "Ceasefire Violations and Cross Border shelling"
Followed by " Pak is terrorist sympathizer, using civilian flights as cover , trying to attack religious sites to increase communal tensions etc etc
No confirmations on any of the hyped announcements from last night (Karachi, F-16, Pilot capture etc etc ) and no admissions of any asset losses on our side
This could have been given at 11 AM too, maybe there was something else brewing up that they wanted confirmation on before going to press.

The briefing also put forward the Indian military assessment that drone action along the western front initiated by Pakistan was a probe of air defenses.
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
Was there a confirmation of Awacs shootdown or any naval action at all?

Nothing military except for the same old drone attacks and counter attacks, cross border shelling and porkies opening airspace for civil airliners to cover their own movements.
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
Nope. Anyways Pakis will try to do something before the weekend. Munir's position is untenable. They cant claim victory for anything like last time around and take an off-ramp and downhill ski....
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
I think we are too restrained, a face saver to Munir here means we will not be tak3n very seriously. I hope this is not hw it ends. We are literally inviting another attack so.eti.e down the line.

Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
No, But they did confirm that Tandev ji is okay to take his flight into Mumbai .
In all seriousness I think Pak is just looking for 1 PR /H&D win such as a confirmed IAF downing. That's enough for them to stop and rest their propaganda machines will manufacture ....that hasn't been given to them yet so till now I don't think Munir and his fauj can exit with a bravado
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
So NO
F-16 down
JF-17 down
Another 3 jets down
Pilot captured
AWACS down
Karachi attack
Nice going DDM and India. So many military officers in these DDM channels and almost none of them critically asks questions before jumping into the jingo bandwagon. I'm done with the media.

The off-ramp is wrt not publicizing the smack-down that paki fauj got to keep their 'H&D" intact. On ground, there is no holding back and "proportionate" response is being given.
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
Well m bet Pakis will definitely attack within a few hours, what are we going to do?
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
You think they will give up an opportunity to parade a f-16 pilot showing the world they escalated. Tone down your wishes and lets get back to reality. It didn't happen.
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
^^ doesnt mean it happened either, the goi thinks local people are supporters as well as astrologers to divine action from portents and half-remembered words and symbolism, well most of us are only common people and can only definitely say that something happened when advised of its happening

You do understand that parading POWs before media for propaganda purposes violates the Geneva convention, right? The Pakis' display of Abhinandan was completely illegal.

Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
1) 300 - 400 drones - that's much more than the 50 that was speculated here & in the media. Most were Turkish drones, including an armed-UAV. We targeted & brought down like 100 of them. I think there were some minor injuries on own troops due to a few that sneaked through
2) Many of them were for surveillance and sniffing our AD response (which might lead to further attacks if Pakis don't take the off-ramp)
3) We sent 4 loitering munitions into Pakiland as response and took out 1 of their AD Radars
4) Cowards hit our civilians (2 kids dead) and we reacted, inflicting big damage to the enemy
5) In typical Paki style, they used civilian aircraft as shields while their drone attack was ongoing
6) No mention of AWACS, F-16, JF-17, Paki pilot or Karachi Port - either we want to keep it under wraps or they were just psy-ops yesterday
7) Vishnu Som said *he was authorized* to share info on own side weapons used that was shared above: SAMAR, hard/soft-kill counter-UAS systems etc
Overall, high degree of competence, professionalism, tech & training superiority of own troops. Army & Air Force AD has come out in flying colors!
We are clearly giving an off-ramp to Pakistan. Don't think we will be the ones to retaliate tonight. If Munir & Co have any sense, they will shut up tonight

Parading doesn't mean humiliating him. Just showing them he is well and taken care of.
Comeon, if you still think they are hiding the pilot you guys are hopelessly optimistic.

Air Raid sirens in URI it is starting, we have to start hitting Paki military big time , enough restraint.
Munir will not stop unless the pain and humiliation is to high a price to pay.

Balochistan BIG Uprising Begins in Pakistan | Coup & Civil War Fears Grip Pakistan
Tensions erupt in Pakistan as Balochistan witnesses a surge in armed resistance against the Pakistan Army. With separatist factions intensifying attacks and widespread unrest gripping key regions, experts fear the outbreak of a civil war. This growing insurgency challenges Islamabad’s authority and raises serious concerns about internal stability. Allegations of human rights abuses, military crackdowns, and talk of a possible coup are fueling chaos. As rebel groups gain momentum and public dissent spreads, Pakistan stands at the edge of a political and security crisis with global implications.

What has been in the news today:
1. CMs of border states were asked to check contingency measures of their states. Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, HP, Uttarakhand were in news.
2. HM met CAPF heads
3. RM had meeting with armed forces chiefs
4. FM had calls with US secretary of state, FM of UK, Norway
5. Health ministry, public distribution, food processing, oil ministry took stock of situation in the country
6. Chandigarh, Delhi had administration planning siren testing
Just before our presser, Pakistan foreign ministry had a press conference. Bravado was missing (may be my bias). He touched upon Samjhauta express and IWT. Discomfort related to IWT abeyance could be cleary seen...
Shortly IMF is meeting for loan for Pakistan. Paki being Pakis will show inner pakiness post that meeting. I think we may be waiting for this pakiness to show itself.
Our today's presser did not seem coherent and gave an impression, that something was planned to be covered, but was omitted.
